Once everyone is ready, we sail out of the harbour for stunning views of the vibrant Waterfront and Admire the magnificent vessels, including luxury yachts, catamarans, sailing vessels, working boats, and even the Robben Island ferries.

Nothing is better than being on a boat cruise as the sun sets across the ocean in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Cape Town! Sunset at sea is a unique experience and something everyone should do.

The activity takes place from the world famous V&A Waterfront which holds bragging rights as being one of Africa's most visited destinations and attracts 24 million people every year. Its setting, in the oldest working harbour in the southern hemisphere, is simply spectacular: it has the iconic Table Mountain as a dramatic backdrop as well as extensive views of the ocean, city bowl and the mountain peaks of the Hottentots-Holland Mountains.

We offer daily sunset champagne cruises from the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town (weather dependent) which will have you sipping sparkling wine on a sunset sea cruise which is extremely romantic and the sound of the ocean lapping the hull of the vessel extremely relaxing.

Essential info

Description Cape Town has one of the best locations to see the Sunset from the Sea. With the Atlantic Ocean stretching away from the majestic Table Mountain range, this is certainly a ‘must do’ cruise for locals and tourists alike. Toast the setting sun from the deck of a luxury vessel with a complimentary glass of local sparkling wine. (A glass per guest, or a bottle for a couple.) A cash bar is available for other drink requirements, including soft drinks. Kids are welcome, and have a special price option, but remember it is an adult cruise so no alcohol served to minors! Cape Town weather can change 5 times a day, so our route from harbour is not always predictable; the two options below are merely a guide. But no matter which direction we take, be assured of a spectacular cruise.

Sunset under sail The sail boats Esperance and Serenity One follow the wind for this cruise. They do not offer a specific destination for this reason; you will be advised before departure as to the expected direction. The typical Cape Town summer wind blows from the south east; the boats use the motors to leave the harbour and then they sail across Table Bay towards Milnerton lighthouse, returning to the protection of Granger Bay in the lee of Table Mountain to watch the sun set, and then motor back to the Waterfront. In winter months with the northwestern prevalent, the direction taken will be toward the Clifton coast line , or the Robben Island Coastline , also returning to Granger Bay. The wind and sea conditions change daily so the routing and style of trip also changes to meet the conditions; the skipper and crew will give you the best possible adventure. Sunset on a motor vessel The Motor Vessels Sea Princess and Southern Cross follow a different route to the sailing boats. As they are not dependent on the wind they offer a destination and normally cruise slowly along the Atlantic seaboard towards Clifton beach and then return.

Variation to cruise (due to weather) For all the vessels, when the seas are running too high or the wind is unpleasantly strong, instead of heading into Table Bay the destination is the Cape Town Harbour for a Harbour Lights Cruise; a perfect alternative offering magical views of Table Mountain and the lights of Cape Town and the harbour in the evening. In extreme conditions, the skipper will take every aspect into account, and even stay dockside to ensure the safety of the passengers .

Before the sun has begun its descent, the cruise sets off for Table Bay, then the sails towards Milnerton lighthouse, before gliding across Granger Bay through the shadow of Table Mountain.

Cruise Description

Join us for a sunset cruise along the Atlantic shoreline, with a glass of sparkling wine in hand. Une Belle Vie is a comfortable 47ft Powercat with an upper and lower deck. This fun-packed cruise will slowly cruise from the V&A Waterfront with spectacular sunset views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and the city. Watch as the sun sinks into the ocean with the wind in your hair and the fresh smell of the ocean, while sipping on a glass of bubbles!

Remember to bring something warm as Cape Town weather can get quite chilly.

• In the event of high wind or rough seas, the skipper may alter the course for the safety of the staff and client on board the vessel adjusting the course to the calm waters of the harbour where you can comfortably enjoy the sunset.
• To avoid disappointment, please ensure that you check-in at the office 20min before departure time.
• The captain of the boat is not allowed to delay departure for anyone.
