macOS Safari Full Installer Database. Download Directly from Apple!
Download macOS Safari Full Installers
This database will contain download links for macOS Safari full Installer pkg files (Safari16.0MontereyAuto.pkg example). This file is the same full installer that you would download directly from software update for Intel and Apple Silicon M1 Mac Computers. The “SafarixxxxAuto.pkg” is stored on Apple’s servers and is a standalone installer package. Once downloaded, all you need to do is install the pkg and Safari will be updated. You can use this pkg to reinstall Safari if you are having issues. Make sure that you download the correct version of Safari for your OS. For macOS Ventura, Safari is included in all updates.
NOTE #1 : I strongly recommend using the Software Update pane or softwareupdate binary to update Safari. Use the stand alone pkg as a last resort before reinstalling macOS.
NOTE #2: You can not use a previous Safari stand alone package to downgrade to a previous version of Safari.
NOTE#3: Apple usually only keeps 2 versions of Safari in the software update catalog. The current version and one behind. When a new version is released, the 3rd download link is removed.

How to Download Safari 17 Beta for macOS Ventura and Monterey
Apple is now allowing Mac users running macOS Ventura and macOS Monterey to try out its latest Safari 17 browser before it officially launches alongside macOS Sonoma in the fall. Keep reading to learn what's new and how to download it.
What's New in Safari 17 for macOS
As of writing, Safari 17 for macOS Ventura and Monterey has reached its fourth beta. Not only is it snappier with faster search responsiveness, it also has more relevant search suggestions – and easier-to-read suggestions. Here's what else is new:
- Locked Private Browsing : Private browsing windows in Safari can now be locked when not in use, and require secondary authentication via Touch ID or your Mac's password to unlock and access for added privacy.
- One-Time Code AutoFill from Mail : One-time verification codes you receive in Apple Mail now autofill in Safari, making it easy to log in without leaving the browser.
- Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection : URLs in Safari 17 can be stripped of all tracking information appended to the end of the URL so that websites cannot track your browsing using URL identifiers.
- Multi-Tab Selection : You can now select multiple open tabs at once to move them around the tab bar or create a Tab Group for them.
- Favicons in the Favorites Bar : You can now identify sites in the Favorites bar more easily with favicons.
- Privacy Protections for App Extensions : You can now set per-site privacy settings for app extensions in addition to web extensions.
- Safari Profiles : Safari has gained a new feature called Profiles, which is designed to help keep your browsing separate for topics like Work, School, or Personal. Each profile gets its own icon and silos your history, Tab Groups, favorites, and cookies. You can even assign specific extensions to profiles to optimize your browsing experience based on the task at hand.
How to Install Safari 17 on macOS Ventura/Monterey
In an unexpected change for 2023, anyone who signs in to Apple's developer account website with their Apple ID gets access to developer beta releases as well , even if they are not a paying member of Apple's Developer Program. So if you're still interested in trying out Safari 17, simply follow the steps below.
Note that Safari 17 Beta 4 requires macOS Ventura 13.4 or macOS Monterey 12.5 to run , and that installing it will overwrite your current Safari version. Also, bear in mind that this is beta software , so you may potentially experience bugs and issues that negatively impact your browsing. Having said that, beta 4 is very stable in our experience.
- Open Safari on your Mac and go to Apple's developer website .
- Under "Sign in to Apple Developer," enter and submit your Apple ID and password using the arrow buttons, then if required, enter the two-factor authentication code sent to your Apple devices.
- Now click through to the Safari Beta Downloads page .
- Under Safari 17, click View Details , then click the Safari 17 Beta DMG link to download the installation package applicable to your macOS version.
- Once the package is downloaded to your Mac, double-click it and follow the onscreen instructions to complete installation.
Wrapping Up
When Safari 17 is officially released to the public as part of macOS Sonoma, users can expect some additional features, including the ability to save your favorite websites to the Dock as streamlined Web Apps , as well as the ability to share website passwords and passkeys with trusted contacts.

I've long gone elsewhere too. There are quite a few websites that don't work on Safari. In fact I see a lot of organisations actively suggesting Chrome. Having said that the vast majority of web work for me is Chrome and FIrefox. Safari is probably 5%.
Last night, at 2AM in the night, I was on the bed and my phone made a sound, and that was the invitation for the beta of Safari 17 for my Mac on Monterey. However, I no longer install betas anymore, past are those days I tested every new beta with excitement while suffering the bugs and annoyances of using beta software. Nowadays I stay with the stable releases as much as I can. Thankfully, Safari keeps getting updates on older systems such as Monterey.
Name a website that doesn’t work with Safari. I use Safari all day long and have yet to run into a website that doesn’t work. Even government websites work these days.
It is a start, but 80% (at least) of my Mac browsing happens on FIREFOX. It’s the quality of the extensions that keeps me with the fox ?

Privacy is built in.
Online privacy isn’t just something you should hope for — it’s something you should expect. That’s why Safari comes with industry-leading privacy protection technology built in, including Intelligent Tracking Prevention that identifies trackers and helps prevent them from profiling or following you across the web. Upgrading to iCloud+ gives you even more privacy protections, including the ability to sign up for websites and services without having to share your personal email address.
Intelligent Tracking Prevention
Safari stops trackers in their tracks.
What you browse is no one’s business but your own. Safari has built‑in protections to help stop websites and data-collection companies from watching and profiling you based on your browsing activity. Intelligent Tracking Prevention uses on‑device intelligence to help prevent cross‑site tracking and stops known trackers from using your IP address — making it incredibly difficult to learn who you are and what you’re interested in.
Privacy Report
Safari makes it simple to see how your privacy is protected on all the websites you visit. Click Privacy Report in the Safari menu for a snapshot of cross-site trackers currently prevented from profiling you on the website you’re visiting. Or view a weekly Privacy Report to see how Safari protects you as you browse over time.
Customization
Putting the you in url..
Safari is more customizable than ever. Organize your tabs into Tab Groups so it’s easy to go from one interest to the next. Set a custom background image and fine-tune your browser window with your favorite features — like Reading List, Favorites, iCloud Tabs, and Siri Suggestions. And third-party extensions for iPhone, iPad, and Mac let you do even more with Safari, so you can browse the way you want across all your devices.
Safari Profiles allow you to separate your history, extensions, Tab Groups, favorites, cookies, and more. Quickly switch between profiles for topics you create, like Personal and Work.
Web apps let you save your favorite websites to the Dock on Mac and to the Home Screen on iPhone and iPad. A simplified toolbar and separate settings give you an app-like experience.
Safari Extensions add functionality to your browser to help you explore the web the way you want. Find and add your favorite extensions in the dedicated Safari category on the App Store.
Save and organize your tabs in the way that works best for you. Name your Tab Groups, edit them, and switch among them across devices. You can also share Tab Groups — making planning your next family trip or group project easier and more collaborative.
Smart Tools
Designed to help your work flow..
Built-in tools create a browsing experience that’s far more immersive, intuitive, and immediate. Get detailed information about a subject in a photo with just a click, select text within any image, instantly translate an entire web page, and quickly take notes wherever you are on a site — without having to switch apps.
Notes is your go-to app to capture any thought. And with the Quick Note feature, you can instantly jot down ideas as you browse websites without having to leave Safari.
Translation
Translate entire web pages with a single click. You can also get translations for text in images and paused video without leaving Safari.
Interact with text in any image or paused video on the web using functions like copy and paste, translate, and lookup. 6
Visual Look Up
Quickly learn more about landmarks, works of art, breeds of dogs, and more with only a photo or an image you find online. And easily lift the subject of an image from Safari, remove its background, and paste it into Messages, Notes, or other apps.
Surf safe and sound.
Strong security protections in Safari help keep you safe. Passkeys introduce a safer way to sign in. iCloud Keychain securely stores and autofills passkeys and passwords across all your devices. Safari also notifies you when it encounters suspicious websites and prevents them from loading. Because it loads each web page in a separate process, any harmful code is always confined to a single browser tab so it won’t crash the entire application or access your data. And Safari automatically upgrades sites from HTTP to the more secure HTTPS when available.
Passkeys introduce a more secure and easier way to sign in. No passwords required.
Passkeys are end-to-end encrypted and safe from phishing and data leaks, and they are stronger than all common two-factor authentication types. Thanks to iCloud Keychain, they work across all your Apple devices, and they even work on non-Apple devices.
Learn more about passkeys
Apple Pay and Wallet make checkout as easy as lifting a finger.
Apple Pay is the easiest and most secure way to shop on Safari — allowing you to complete transactions with Face ID or Touch ID on your iPhone or iPad, with Touch ID on your MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, or by double-clicking the side button on your Apple Watch.
Learn more about Apple Pay
With AutoFill, you can easily fill in your previously saved credit card information from the Wallet app during checkout. Your credit card details are never shared, and your transactions are protected with industry-leading security.
Same Safari. Different device.
Safari works seamlessly and syncs your passwords, bookmarks, history, tabs, and more across Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch. And when your Mac, iOS, or iPadOS devices are near each other, they can automatically pass what you’re doing in Safari from one device to another using Handoff. You can even copy images, video, or text from Safari on your iPhone or iPad, then paste into another app on your nearby Mac — or vice versa.
When you use Safari on multiple devices, your tabs carry over from one Apple device to another. So you can search, shop, work, or browse on your iPhone, then switch to your iPad or Mac and pick up right where you left off.
Save web pages you want to read later by adding them to your Reading List. Then view them on any of your iCloud-connected devices — even if you’re not connected to the internet.
iCloud Keychain securely stores your user names, passkeys, passwords, and credit card numbers and keeps them up to date on your trusted devices. So you can easily sign in to your favorite websites — as well as apps on iOS and iPadOS — and quickly make online purchases.
Designed for developers.
Deep WebKit integration between Mac hardware and macOS allows Safari to deliver the fastest performance and the longest battery life of any browser on the platform, while supporting modern web standards for rich experiences in the browser. WebKit in macOS Sonoma includes optimizations that enable even richer browsing experiences, and give developers more control over styling and layout — allowing for more engaging content.
Make Safari your default browser

Apple releases Safari 15.1 beta for macOS Big Sur and Catalina users
Following the release of the new Safari 15 for users running macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina last month, Apple this week released the first Safari 15.1 beta for macOS versions prior to Monterey.
Apple first introduced Safari 15 as part of macOS Monterey at WWDC 2021. The update introduced a new browsing experience that unifies the address bar with the tab bar. However, as macOS Monterey will not be released to the public until later this year, the company has decided to make Safari 15 available to macOS Big Sur and Catalina users .
It’s unclear what exactly is new in the Safari 15.1 beta, as the release notes are basically the same as Safari 15.0. Most likely, Apple is working on bug fixes and other improvements that have already been added to Safari in the latest macOS Monterey beta .
It’s worth noting that some Safari 15 features like the built-in translator still require macOS Monterey, so you won’t be able to use them with macOS Big Sur or macOS Catalina.
The Safari 15.1 beta can be downloaded through the Apple Developer website , and Apple has also been inviting some users to try out the new version through the AppleSeed program. Keep in mind that installing Safari 15.1 beta will replace the main version of Safari on your Mac, so this may not be a good idea if you use Safari as your primary web browser.

The internet traffic between our managed macOS Mojave laptops and the Apple Software Updates website is blocked for security reasons. So I can not use the regular System Preferences - Software Update to update native macOS software. This is not an issue for me, because every time Apple release a Software Update, I wait a week or so and I visit the following URL https://support.apple.com/downloads and I download the specific package (in .dmg format), I save the .dmg package into a USB Stick and I update the macOS laptops and I am good to go. Now, the problem is that Apple just released an important security update https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212808 just for Safari 14.1.2. My question is since that I believe this time it is just Safari the issue, is Apple going to publish just the Safari .dmg package update on the regular https://support.apple.com/downloads website? If not, how can I download just the Safari 14.1.2 in .dmg/.pkg format so I can install into our macOS Mojave laptops? Thank you so much in advance for your help.

I'm not sure of the answer to your question, but I just wanted to say I think that's bizarre that your company thinks Apple's software update server is not secure. Why are they making employees jump through hoops to keep their OS updated and secure?
macrumors 68040
Just wait a week like you normally would and download from the downloads site. The world will not end in 7-10 days without the update. You are best to wait a week anyway in case it $#%&'s up your machine (which is more common these days).

@MarkC426 thank you so much. I was under the impression that security updates like Safari for example are not published at that URL Apple Support Download. But if you say yes, well then case solved ;-)

Have you tried the softwareupdate command in Terminal? softwareupdate -l to list available updates. Each update will have a couple of lines. You want the update listed on the line with the asterisk. Be sure to quote the update name when you download it, like this softwareupdate -d "update name" . You will find the resulting download in /Library/Updates. Safari updates do show and are downloadable using this process. I just downloaded the Safari security update (.pkg file) mentioned by the OP.

How to download and install macOS
Download and install current or previous versions of the Mac operating system on compatible Mac computers.
To maintain your computer’s security, stability and compatibility, Apple recommends using the latest macOS that is compatible with your Mac. macOS updates and upgrades also include the latest features and built-in apps, such as Safari.
Use Software Update
Use macos recovery, use the app store.
Use a web browser
Use a bootable installer
If you need help.
Software Update is the fastest and easiest way to get macOS updates and upgrades, and it can use less storage space to download and install them.
Software Update only shows software that is compatible with your Mac. If Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, then no new software is currently available for your Mac model.
How to update macOS using Software Update
If you want to reinstall macOS, or your Mac doesn't start up all the way because it doesn't have a working operating system, you can use the built-in Recovery system to reinstall macOS.
How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery
To download macOS from the App Store, you must download from a Mac that is compatible with that macOS. If your Mac isn’t compatible, the App Store will dim the Get button, state that the macOS is not compatible with this device or state that the requested version of macOS is not available.
Use these links to find macOS in the App Store. If these links don’t work as expected, try again using Safari, which is in your Applications folder.
Monterey 12
Catalina 10.15
Mojave 10.14
High Sierra 10.13
Click the Get button in the App Store to start downloading. Software Update may open and ask you to download from there.
After downloading to your Applications folder, the installer will open automatically. Follow the onscreen installation instructions. Or quit without installing to leave the installer in your Applications folder for later use.
Use a web browser for older versions
These older macOS versions are available as disk images that you can download using your web browser. To get the installer from the disk image, you must use a Mac that is compatible with that macOS.
Use these links to download a macOS disk image (.dmg) file. If these links don’t work as expected, try again using Safari, which is in your Applications folder.
Sierra 10.12
El Capitan 10.11
Yosemite 10.10
Mountain Lion 10.8
Double-click the .dmg file to open it and see the package (.pkg) file within.
Double-click the .pkg file, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the macOS installer into your Applications folder.
Open your Applications folder and double-click the macOS installer, named Install [ Version Name ]. Follow the onscreen installation instructions.
A bootable installer can be useful if you want to install macOS on multiple computers without downloading the installer each time, or when you can't install using macOS Recovery or the other methods.
To download an installer suitable for creating a bootable installer, use the App Store or use a web browser to download from a compatible Mac. The Mac must also be using macOS High Sierra or later, the latest version of macOS Sierra or the latest version of OS X El Capitan.
How to create a bootable installer for macOS
If an error occurred while updating or installing macOS
If you need more storage space to download or install
If your Mac doesn't start up all the way

It's not a filetype Safari knows how to handle. As for installing applications, the typical type of DMG is read-only so you wouldn't be able to write anything to it. Just double click the DMG in Finder and it should automatically mount the volume and open a Finder window showing the file to be copied or installer to be run.
