• The above prices are on per person per journey.
• All the above prices are in USD.
• Payment can be made in INR. The amount will depend upon the prevailing USD exchange rate as per RBI.
• Add 5% Govt. service tax extra.
• For calculating single occupancy per cabin, simply add the cost of adult with single supplement.
• The cost for Indian Splendor & Indian Panorama journeys are the same.

Booking Procedure:

• Advise preferred date of Journey & Cabins required-to check availability.
• To Process Booking: we require Names, Sex, Nationality of all the passengers & Date of Birth of Children
• Booking will be confirmed on receipt of Advance Deposit of 30% Amount of published ticket value (inclusive taxes).
• Balance Amount must reach us at least 70 days before tour depart.
• If booking request made less than 70 days before tour depart-we require One time Full(100%) tour amount to confirm booking.
• To Issue e-travel Documents, we require Passport copies of all the passengers & Reservation Form.
• Payment can be made either by Online Credit Card Authorization OR Bank Wire swift Transfer.

Cancelation Policy:

• Royal Indian Trains is authorized Booking Agent of IRCTC (Principal Train Operator) & it’s liability is limited to that of Booking Agent Only.
• All request for cancellation must be made in writing & acknowledged by us.
• Minimum 30% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received more than 62 days prior to train tour departure.
• Minimum 55% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received between 61 to 47 days prior to train tour departure.
• Full 100% of Ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if request received less than 47 days prior to train tour departure.
• Overseas Refunds for cancellation of train tour booking, are governed by Reserve Bank Of India rules & require certain paperwork from your end.
• Where passenger makes request for refund due to self-cancellation, it will be governed as per foreign exchange rules of RBI Bank and the process may take 4 to 6 weeks after documentation as per RBI guidelines is received & Royal Indian Trains reserves the right to deduct Minimum US$ 200 as service charges at time of refund.
• IRCTC(Principal Tour Operator of Maharajas Express) reserves the right to cancel a scheduled train depart, due to in-sufficient bookings & Royal Indian Trains cannot be held liable to bear incidental costs of Indian Visa, Flight & Hotel Cancellation fee etc in such a case.
• Request for train tour cancellation due to increase of taxes/tariff by IRCTC authorities will be governed by cancellation rules.
• No refund will be made in case of no-show Or self-curtailment of journey.
• At times, due to local logistics if Train tour Manager is forced to cancel certain scheduled sightseeing tours or activities, at short notice - No refund will be made to passenger to compensate for this.
• Disputes, if any, are subject to jurisdiction of Courts of New Delhi(India) only. Till date, there has been no legal disputes with our organisation regarding Maharajas’ Express.

• This Luxury Train Tariff also includes the butler service, Para-medic services on-board, guided off-tour excursions as illustrated in the journeys, inclusive of entrance fees, still camera fee, transport and services of a guide & porterage at stations.
• Maharajas’ Express Fare shall not include any optional tours as mentioned in the itinerary, taxes, insurance, gratuities, telephone calls, laundry, non-house pour drinks, video & professional still camera fees.
• Maharajas’ Express booking shall not include arrival and departure transfers, air tickets, Pre and post tour accommodation and any tour extensions, unless specifically mentioned as part of the journeys.
• Maharajas’ Express Train offers accommodation in Air Conditioned Sleeper Cabins. You have option to book on Double Occupancy(2 persons) Or Single Occupancy for 1 person

Sunday Day 1, Delhi: Following a traditional Indian welcome, and having being shown to your cabin, a delectable brunch is served as the train takes you to Agra, the City of Mughal splendour. Here guests disembark to explore the Agra Fort. As evening descends, champagne is served at the Taj Khema, overlooking the Taj Mahal. Dinner is served back on the train, where it is stationary for the night.

Monday Day 2, Agra: After an early breakfast, visit the romantic Taj Mahal early in the morning. Back on board, luncheon is served on the way to Ranthambore, where there is a safari into the Ranthambore National Park. Back on board, dinner is served as the train travel overnight to Jaipur.

Tuesday Day 3, Jaipur: After breakfast, guests embark on a sightseeing tour of the Amber Fort, followed by an elephant polo match. At the end of a tasty lunch in an exclusive venue, there will be an opportunity to indulge in either shopping in the local bazaars, golfing, spa sessions, or a visit to the City Palace or the royal observatory Jantar Mantar, with its collection of architectural instruments dating back to the mid-sixteenth century. Then we rejoin the train to journey to Ranthambore whilst enjoying dinner.

Tuesday Day 3, Ranthambore to Fatehpur Sikri. Following breakfast, embark on an exciting morning safari through the Ranthambore National Park, before rejoining the train to enjoy lunch whilst travelling down to Fatehpur Sikri where we visit the fascinating deserted 16th century royal court complex. We return to the train for dinner as we travel to Agra.

Wednesday Day 4, Agra. Following an early morning visit to the jewel of Mughal architecture, the Taj Mahal, there will a champagne breakfast served at the Taj Khema, overlooking the Taj Mahal. Rejoin the train for lunch and then a visit to the wonderful Agra Fort. Return to the train for dinner as it travels to Orchha.

Thursday Day 5, Orchha to Khajuraho. After a stop at Orchha and a visit to Jahangiri Mahal, our journey continues to Khajuraho whilst having lunch. On arrival one can visit the fabulous temples before returning to the train for dinner.

Friday Day 6, Varanasi. The day is spent in this Holy Indian city, known for its Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage sites. One can visit the silk center and enjoy a river cruise on the Ganges, before returning to the train for dinner.

Saturday Day 7, Delhi. Following a sumptuous breakfast, we bid farewell to the train.

Indian Splendour, Maharajas Express

Sunday Day 1, Delhi. After a traditional Indian welcome and being shown to your cabin, enjoy a brunch as the train takes you to Agra. There is a visit to the Agra Fort and then back to the train for dinner.

Monday Day 2, Agra/Rathambore. Following an early morning visit to the Taj Mahal, there will a champagne breakfast served at the Taj Khema, overlooking the wonderful Taj Mahal. We rejoin the train for lunch as it travels towards Ranthambore and an exciting safari.

Tuesday Day 3, Jaipur. After breakfast, there is a sightseeing tour of this pretty pink city, followed by a visit to the impregnable Amber Fort with its impressive architecture and intricate carvings. Return to the train for lunch and rest time as we travel to Bikaner.

Wednesday Day 4, Bikaner. If ever beauty has bloomed in a desert, it has been at Bikaner. Founded in 1488, the imposing palaces and beautiful, richly sculptured temples of red and yellow sandstone display some of the finest creations of Rajput civilization. A visit to the unassailable fort of Junagarh. Following a camel cart procession around the undulating sand dunes there is an evening of folk dance performances over sundowner cocktails and barbecue dinner amidst the sand dunes. Return to the train for travel to Jodpur.

Thursday Day 5, Jodpur. During a relaxed breakfast the beautiful structures of Jodhpur come into view. Here we partake of a walking tour of the Old Clock Tower Market and a visit to the Mehrangarh Fort. Dinner is served at an exclusive venue.

Friday Day 6, Udaipur. The fantastic landscape leading to Udaipur is further enhanced by the magnificent structures. Following breakfast, there is a visit to the City Palace complex followed by a traditional lunch in the Fateh Prakash Palace, which houses the fabulous crystal gallery. After this, one can either take a walking tour through the colourful and vibrant Old Market, or visit the vintage car collection of the Royal family.

Saturday Day 7, Mumbai and departure after breakfast.

Insurance. Travel insurance is a condition of your booking on the Maharajas’ Express. Passengers must have adequate travel insurance cover from the country of domicile for injury, illness, death, accident, loss of effects or luggage and holiday cancellation. Guests must supply the name, address and telephone number of the insurers, policy number and the 24-hour medical emergency telephone number. Any pre-existing medical conditions must be declared to the insurer and to us; failure to do so may invalidate your Travel Insurance Policy. Guests must take their policies with them to show.

Dress Code. This is smart casual for the day although of course one may dress up for the evening. Being winter, there may be a need for some woolen attire.

Smoking. No smoking allowed.

Gratuities. The recommended tipping charges are USD125pp for the entire journey (this is a guideline advised by train and not mandatory) . The guest need not tip anybody off train i.e, it includes tip for coach drivers/guides etc. An envelope will be provided in each cabin on the last night of the journey for the same.

Credit Cards. All major credit cards are accepted onboard, with applicable surcharges.

Optional Tours. These can be booked on the train.

Unforeseen events/changes: itineraries, routes and times may change at any time for reasons outside the control of the train company. Every effort will be made by train staff to minimise any impact; the Luxury Train Club cannot accept any responsibility for any changes. The Club aims to keep itineraries as up to date as possible.

Welcome aboard the Maharajas' Express , bestowed the "World's Leading Luxury Train" award at the World Travel Awards for seven consecutive years from 2012 to 2018. The Maharajas' Express has redefined the luxury travel experience by offering guests the opportunity to explore fabled destinations providing a glimpse of rich cultural heritage of Incredible India which will leave you with fond memories of this train journey to be cherished

Maharajas Express is the flagship luxury train of IRCTC and is the newest luxury train in the country. The 23-carriage long train houses four different types of accommodation viz. Deluxe Cabins, Junior Suite Cabins, Suites, and Presidential Suites. All cabins come with ensuite bathrooms. The carriages are named after semi-precious and precious gemstones and the interiors of each cabin are tastefully planned.

The train has two restaurants having a seating capacity of 42 each. One of the restaurants is called Rang Mahal literally meaning ‘Palace of Colours ’. The other restaurant is called Mayur Mahal which is themed after the National Bird of India, Peacock. In addition to the restaurants, there are 02 Bar cum Lounges on the train. The Rajah Club and The Safari Bar serve a mix of House Pours and other international brands. The House Pours are included in the Package and select international wines and spirits are on sale. The train houses a full kitchen on-board which serves a mix of international and Indian cuisines. The menus change daily and guests can make special dietary requests before commencement of the journey.

A. Maharajas' Express is India's iconic luxury train which came in recent times and it is the luxury train known for its pan-Indian journey experience.

A. The tariff of the Maharajas' Express includes cost of travel, accommodation, all meals, water, beverages, house brands of wines, beer and spirits, and sightseeing at the destinations . The tariff also includes entrance fees of monuments, guides, tour managers, still camera fees, and all leisure activities.

The tariff however does not include laundry, telephone calls, gratuities, liquors and alcoholic beverages (apart from house brands of wines, beer and spirits). Video, films and professional still camera fees are also excluded from the tariff.

A. As per Indian law, smoking is prohibited inside the train as well as other public places.

A. Smart casuals for the day, clothes with subdued colors for jungle safari and formal attire for the dinner to suit the occasion and as a consideration for fellow travelers is expected. Since the itinerary involves walking excursions off train, it is recommended that you carry walking shoes with you.

A. Maharajas' Express India offers a total of 4 pre-packaged, all-inclusive itineraries. Three of them are pan-Indian itineraries spanning over 6 nights/7 days and the other itinerary is golden triangle tours spanning over 3 nights/4 days.

A. On all excursions off-train, you will be accompanied by professional guides with in depth knowledge of the locality. Foreign language speaking guides can also be arranged at additional cost on prior request at the time of booking by the guests.

Maharajas' Express Heritage of India itinerary offer insights into the rich heritage and culture of India.

Starting from Mumbai, the train crisscrosses through the medieval caves of Ajanta, forts and Palaces of Rajasthan and the majestic Taj Mahal during the Heritage of India Tour.

The highlight of the tour includes cultural immersion during local sightseeing tours, insider experiences such as sundowner cocktails amidst sand dunes and Elephant painting & joyrides and some shopping experiences among others.

• Check-in Venue & Timing - The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai / 0900 hrs
• Departure Station & Timing - Mumbai - Chatrpati Shivaji Terminus / 1030 hrs

Guests boarding the Maharaja Express have to report at least an hour before the train’s departure at a pre-assigned venue in Mumbai for the pre-boarding facilities. All final details related to the meeting point will be emailed or handed over along with the journey’s travel vouchers and documents, around 14 days before the departure date.

Welcome to a regal journey aboard the Maharajas Express as you embark on Heritage of India tour. By 10:30 hours, assemble at the hotel. Later get assisted transfer to the station to board your luxury train. Enjoy a warm welcome even as you complete your registration formalities. Explore the train amenities.

Post breakfast; embark on a sightseeing tour to the City Palace complex and boat ride on Lake Pichola.

Indulge in a Royal Lunch at an exclusive venue.

Post lunch, return to the train for a leisurely evening.

On the 3rd day of the tour itinerary, you will arrive in the sun city of Rajasthan – Jodhpur.

Morning at leisure or optionally you may embark on a tour to Bishnoi Village or a spa session at leading hotel in the city.

Following lunch, proceed with a tour of the mighty Mehrangarh Fort. Choose to leave on a walking tour of the Old Clock Tower Market. End the day with a lavish dinner arranged at an exclusive venue.

Return back to the train for overnight stay as train proceeds to Bikaner.

On reaching the abandoned city of Mughals , you can visit the local attractions housed here such as Buland Darwaza and Panch Mahal. Fatehpur Sikri is a celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the evening, return to the train for dinner and overnight stay.
