South Goa is one of the most beautiful regions in India. Below is my detailed South Goa guide to help you plan the best trip to South Goa. It includes the best things to do in South Goa, where to stay in South Goa as well as a South Goa itinerary for your stay.

I have visited South Goa over 20 times. To say I love it is an understatement. I find the place charming, picturesque and quintessentially Goan in all its ways. Its charm hasn’t reduced the way North Goa’s charm has due to overtourism. And yet, there is enough touristic infrastructure to help regular tourists have the best South Goa trip. A South Goa trip should be full of visits to the spectacular beaches, old forts, wildlife sanctuaries, aesthetic cafés, delicious restaurants, serene backwaters and scenic islands.

But to get the best out of your trip to South Goa, you need to plan it well. You need to break down your stay in a workable South Goa itinerary. Read this full post for all the details that you need to perfectly plan a South Goa trip.

South Goa – Map and Location

South Goa is to the South of Goa (duh!). It shares its border with Karnataka. It is bigger than North Goa. It is diverse as it has beaches, enormous wildlife sanctuaries, waterfalls and springs. Here is a Goa map to get you oriented

How to reach South Goa

The airport of Goa is located in Dabolim, Mormugao region of South Goa. It is the only airport in Goa and connects Goa to the rest of the country. That’s also why most major regions in South Goa are closer to the airport than those of North Goa.

Margaon is the major train station in South Goa.

Cancona, Vasco de Gama are also the other major train stations in Goa.

Get down at Margaon if you are staying between Majorda and Cavelossim. For Agonda and Palolem, see if you can get off at Cancona. But many trains do not halt at Cancona.

The main bus stand in South Goa is in Margaon – The Kadamba bus stand. It connects South Goa to various parts of Goa and the country. See schedule.

From here, you can take local buses to various locations in South Goa.

Where to stay in South Goa

The major areas where you will find touristic accommodation in South Goa are

• Colva – the most popular tourist hub in South Goa. It mainly attracts Indian tourists. It is a short drive away from Margaon.
• Benaulim – a lovely family and couple-friendly area in South Goa. It attracts both Indian and foreign tourists. It is also a short drive away from Margaon. 📍 The Azaya Beach Resort here is exquisite – the best beachside resort for families and couples with a fantastic pool for the perfect sundowner. • Palolem – a lovely town to the southern end of South Goa. It is very scenic and has lots of things to offer to tourists who love nature and beauty. It is a good base for families and couples but even more so for solo travellers who don’t mind visiting a few offbeat locations and staying at a hostel. 📍 The Lost Hostel in Palolem is the best – excellent staff, engaging on-site activities and very clean. South Goa Travel Tips

• It’s best to rent a vehicle for commuting within South Goa. The public transport system in Goa is not reliable at all for those visiting Goa on a tight time schedule.
• There are very few tourist areas in South Goa that are self-sufficient from a tourist’s point of view. Thus you won’t find a supermarket, medical store, grocery store, beauty salon, garment shop, foreign exchange store, vehicle rental or a tour operator in many South Goan areas. If quick access to these facilities is important to you – please stay in Colva, Benaulim or Palolem.
• South Goa has no real party places and the nightclubs in South Goa are not comparable in scale to the ones in North Goa. The silent noise party at Palolem has also stopped taking place in recent years. Do not rely on other articles on the internet recommending that as a party avenue.

• Many tourist spots in South Goa like Cabo de Rama, Cola Beach, Butterfly Island, Mollem Wildlife Sanctuary, and Dudhsagar Waterfalls get very deserted and dark at night. Avoid staying back in these regions as far as possible.
• Many beaches in South Goa like Agonda, Talpona and Galgibaga are turtle habitats and therefore subject to many restrictions. Respect the rules of visit at these beaches.
• If you plan to go on a day trip to North Goa , stay in the northern regions of South Goa like Majorda, Betalbatim, Colva and Benaulim. Avoid staying at Agonda or Palolem as the distance from these regions to North Goa is approximately 2.5 hrs one way making the day trip impracticable.
• Cabs to your accommodation would be available from the airport and Margaon train station without much difficulty. But hailing a cab from other locations is often difficult. Plan your commute whenever you visit such places.

Things to do in South Goa

Visit the spectacular South Goa Beaches

The beaches in South Goa are calm and blissful. Their natural beauty is also fairly intact as opposed to the bustling beaches of North Goa. Here are some of the beaches in South Goa that you could visit on your South Goa trip

• Palolem beach : clean, calm, vibey. Plenty of shacks and things to do in surrounding areas. Lots of boat ride options to nearby islands as well.
• Talpona/Galgibaga : Further south of Palolem. Known for their natural beauty and turtle nesting. Almost no shacks. Best for introverts or couples looking to escape the crowds.
• Agonda : Next to a cliff, scenic, calm, few shacks. Beautiful backwaters. (Choose any Agonda or Palolem as both have similar offerings. But Agonda has fewer tourists)
• Betul/Mobor/Cavelossim : Stunning whitish golden sand, flat and soft. Almost always deserted. Many luxury properties are nearby.
• Benaulim: Benaulim is one of the most family-friendly beaches in South Goa. Quite a few shacks and accommodation options are nearby. See my article on the best things to do in Benaulim here .
• Colva: One of the most crowded beaches of South Goa. Central, very touristy. Many properties in the nearby area. Close to Margaon.
• Majorda/Betalbatim: Deserted and scenic. Hardly any tourists visit these beaches. Betalbatim is also known to glow on certain nights.
• Cola Beach /Butterfly Beach /Cabo de Rama: Very remote, with improper access involving hiking, boat rides, etc. but breathtakingly beautiful

Get the best views from Cabo de Rama

I don’t think there is any other viewpoint in Goa that comes close to Cabo de Rama. Cabo de Rama is truly magical. The place is a flat land overlooking the South Goan coastline.

Vehicles can be taken right up to the viewpoint. But at the viewpoint itself, there isn’t much to do apart from taking in the jaw-dropping beauty of Goa.

• Appreciate the view, click lots of pictures
• Enjoy light snacks at a small shop near the viewpoint
• If you’re interested and if time permits, visit the fort nearby.

Avoid staying back after sunset in this area if you’re riding alone or with your partner on a two-wheeler. The road gets pretty dark.

Try out delectable food

You’ll find plenty of good eating places in South Goa. Here are a few must-try ones

• Fisherman’s Wharf, Cavelossim – Authentic South Goan food served in a restaurant with the best riverside views. Yummy all the way! But I also find it too commercial now. Expect a waiting period of about 30 minutes on weekends and during peak tourist season. But the food and the views are still very impressive.
• Mike’s place. Cavelossim : A simple tourist-friendly restaurant – excellent for a hearty breakfast or a filling lunch. On all of my visits here, the staff was very kind and there is ample seating area to accommodate enough guests.
• Roger’s, Benaulim : One of the best seaside shacks in South Goa, excellent for candlelight dinners as well. It is right at the entrance of Benaulim Beach.
• Goodfellas, Benaulim: The best wood-fired pizza in South Goa. I keep raving about it and ensure I visit it every time I am in Benaulim.
• Ciarans, Palolem: The kind of food you long for at the end of the day served right by the beach. The food is far tastier than most beach shacks around.
• Kinara, Cavelossim : Modest place serving authentic Goan food cooked with warmth. Excellent for a homely family lunch.
• Kopi Desa , Palolem : Filmy vibe, smashing food, best for hanging out with friends. I love the place for its vibe, the posters and the kick-ass food choices.

There are many more charming places to eat in South Goa that are spread out all over. The list above is just the tip of the iceberg.

Get lost in nature

South Goa is packed with natural beauty. There are countless opportunities to admire Goa’s flora and fauna.

A few that are a must-visit are

• Dudhsagar waterfalls
• Tambdi Surla temple and waterfalls + lots of surrounding beauty near Mollem
• Cola Beach for the lagoon
• Palolem and Agonda backwaters
• Sal river near Cavelossim
• Bondla Zoo + surrounding forest area (including it here since it now forms part of South Goa)
• Kesarval springs

Engage in memorable experiences

Simply visiting beautiful locations is not enough. To enhance the quality of your experience, you should also engage in activities that feel rewarding such as

Kayaking in South Goa is one of the most pleasant experiences. You can book a kayak at Agonda or Palolem and go kayaking in the sea or even in the river near Cavelossim. The river kayaking presents many bird-watching opportunities as well. You can book a tour in advance to avoid disappointment. ( See photos, details and availability here )

• Eagle-feeding

This unique experience is offered in the Palolem backwaters. Head early morning for the best experience.

• Island hopping

There are a few islands off the coasts of Agonda and Palolem that mesmerise with their heavenly charm. Visiting these islands on a single trip of a few hours is possible from either of the beaches, but you will get more options from Palolem Beach.

• Heritage tour

The many waterfalls in South Goa are also ideal trekking trails for those who enjoy trekking. You could go on a Dudhsagar trek, Tambdi Surla trek, and Netravali trek while in Goa.

It is best to hike in the late monsoon season when the rains subside but the greenery remains.

1 day in South Goa Itinerary

If you have just one day in South Goa, here’s what you should do

Plan to stay at Palolem/Agonda ( see best-rated options in Palolem and Agonda )

• Spend your morning on Palolem beach. Have breakfast in one of the shacks on the beach.
• Follow with a trip to the nearby islands or go kayaking in the backwaters
• For lunch, travel all the way to Benaulim and have lunch at Roger’s or Hideout. Relax on the beach here.

2 days in South Goa Itinerary

Follow 1 day in South Goa itinerary.

Day 2: Visit Dudhsagar falls and the spice plantation. It’s a full-day tour with lunch included.

3 days in South Goa Itinerary

Plan to stay at Benaulim ( see best-rated accommodations in Benaulim here – as stated earlier I love Azaya Beach Resort )

Day 1: Benaulim

If you have 3 days in Goa, it’s best to completely explore the magic in Benaulim for a full day.

Start with a breakfast at the German bakery , followed by lots of beach time. At the beach, you can have lunch at Roger’s or try out the delicious seafood at Johncy . Watch the sunset from the Southern Deck or have dinner at the best wood-fired pizza in town at Goodfellas .

Basically, spend a day chilling in the typical Goan susegaad (local word for laidback) style

Day 2: Palolem/Agonda

Start day 2 by going down south to the picturesque beaches.

Enroute make the following stops –

Quick Stop 1: Cavelossim Beach Quick Stop 2: Agonda Beach Brunch Stop: 📍 Kopi Desa near Palolem Beach

Once at the Palolem Beach, start by going on an Island boat trip.

Once you’re back, have a hearty meal at 📍 Ciarans .

For sunset, visit Cabo de Rama and after that, come back to Benaulim for dinner.

Day 3: Dudhsagar

Visit Dudhsagar falls and spice plantation. It’s a full day tour with lunch included at the Spice Plantation.

4 days in South Goa Itinerary

For the 4-day South Goa trip – follow the 3-day itinerary above.

Day 3: Dudhsagar/Spice plantations

Day 4: Temples and Museum

• Visit one of Goa’s oldest temples – Tambdi Surla or if you don’t want to travel that far, visit the Shantadurga temple

Finish these off in the first half of the day.

• For the second half, visit the Big Foot at Loutulim – a beautiful museum depicting the lifestyle of local Goans.

5 days in South Goa Itinerary

If you can visit South Goa for 5 or more days, your experience is going to be far richer than typical tourists spending a couple of days in South Goa. You will be able to relax, take in the vibe of Goa, mingle with local Goans and admire the beauty of South Goa in an unrushed manner.

So here’s what I think you should do – follow the 4 day itinerary as above. And you can spend your last day in Goa doing one of the options given below

Day 4: Tambdi Surla/Shantadurga temple/Big Foot

• Relax at a beach of your choice
• Visit the offbeat Cola Beach
• Check out the lighthouse at Betul
• Go kayaking near Cavelossim
• Visit the touristy Colva Beach
• Check out the completely deserted Majorda/Betalbatim beaches
• Visit India’s only naval museum at Vasco de Gama

This has resulted in the smallest state of India boasting some of the richest histories, with numerous ancient sites wrapped in their century-old culture and stories. Think Beyond Beaches And Hop Onto A Heritage-Tinged Tour Of Goa

1 a baroque gem: the basilica of bom jesus.

Also known as St Francis Xavier’s tomb, the Basilica of Bom Jesus is located in Old Goa in Bainguinim, about 10 km away from Panjim. It is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site (Churches & Convents of Goa) and is dedicated to Goa’s patron saint St Francis Xavier, whose remains can be found here. One of the highlights of visiting the basilica is to view his body, still preserved despite it being over 450 years since his death. Visitors are known to stand in line for hours just to get a glimpse of his body, or to touch it and kiss his feet.

In his honour, the feast of St Francis is celebrated here every year, read more interesting things about it in our article on must-see festivals and events in Goa . It was constructed during the period of 1594 to 1605 and is known to be the first minor basilica in India. The church is called ‘Bom Jesus’ meaning ‘good Jesus’ or ‘infant Jesus’ and is regarded as one of the best examples of baroque architecture in Goa.

Visiting hours: Mon-Sat 9 am – 6:30 pm, Sun 10 am – 6:30 pm

2 One Of The Largest Churches In Asia: Se Cathedral

After visiting Bom Jesus you can hop on across to Se Cathedral opposite the Basilica. It’s considered one of the largest churches in Asia and is also known as Sé Cathedral de Santa Catarina. This majestic white beauty is dedicated to St Catherine of Alexandria and is also known to be the oldest and the most celebrated religious building in Goa. The construction of this church began in 1562 and was completed in 1619. It is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site (Churches & Convents of Goa) and is an important centre of the Latin Rite Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman.

Visiting hours: 7:30 am – 6 pm on all days

3 Impressive Defensive Walls: Reis Magos Fort

Located on the northern bank of river Mandovi across the city of Panaji in North Goa, the Reis Magos Fort was constructed in 1551 by Alfonso de Noronha. In 1707, it was rebuilt and served as a pivotal site acting as a defensive wall during the war between the Portuguese and the Marathas in 1739. The fort was briefly occupied by the British Army (between 1798 and 1813) and even served as a prison until 1993 when it was abandoned by the army. The Reis Magos Fort was restored by the Archaeological Survey of India and since 2012 it has been an integral part of Goa’s heritage tourism.

Visiting hours: 9:30 am – 5 pm on all days except Monday.

Entry fees: INR 50 per person for Adults, INR 25 per person for Students, INR 10 per person on Sundays, and Goa Govt. Holidays and 0 Free entry for children below 8 years of age.

4 Historical Ruins: Church Of St Augustine

Located in Panjim, close to the Nunnery of Santa Monica, The Church and Monastery Of St. Augustine was constructed in 1602 by Augustinian friars. A part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site (Churches & Convents of Goa), it is considered one of the biggest churches in Goa and an important tourist attraction in the state. Today, only the ruins of the front portion of the church and the magnificent tower remain. The dilapidated tower can be seen from a distance and one can gauge the grandiosity of the monastery when it was completely intact. 

Visiting hours: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 6:30 am – 12:45 pm, 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm

5 A Three-tier Facade: Church Of St Francis Of Assisi

This is a  17th-century structure constructed by the Portuguese, a famous Roman Catholic Church that is also the oldest church located in Panjim. Built in 1661 by eight Portuguese Franciscan friars, the church is said to have originated as a small chapel but was later modified to a church in 1521. The church’s three-tier facade has octagonal towers on each side and in the central niche is a statue of St. Michael. Located in the Panjim conservation area, it is just 1.5 km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand and 29 km from Vasco Da Gama Railway Station.

Located in the Canacona region of south Goa, on the beautiful coastline of Goa overlooking the gorgeous Arabian Sea, Cabo De Rama Fort is also known as the Cape of Rama. The fort derives its name from Rama, from the epic Ramayana as it is believed that Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana lived in the fort during their 14-year exile. The best heritage trails in Goa tells the story of Panjim that’s rarely heard by visitors, the beauty of the past lining the streets hidden in plain sight. The Portuguese arrived here in 1510 under their commander Afonso de Albuquerque, and captured the city from Adil Shah, the ruler of the Bijapur Kingdom. They came to the East in search of trade and to spread Christianity. Under Portuguese rule Goa rapidly became a major metropolis of the 16th and 17th century rivaling London and Paris, and at its peak had a population of over 150,000 people.

However, disease and decline in trade took its toll and the city rapidly deteriorated in the latter part of the 17th century. The capital was officially moved to Panjim in 1843. Eventually, the site of Old Goa was used as a quarry to build Panjim, and buildings were left to naturally decay and were eventually demolished.

Old Goa is a World Heritage site housing some of the most historically significant buildings and churches in the region. Among these are the Basilica of Bom Jesus where the remains of St. Francis Xavier are to be found, the imposing Sé Cathedral, the Church of St Francis of Assisi, the Chapel of St Catherine, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount, the Church of Our Lady of Rosary, the Church of St Cajetan, the Chapel of St Anthony and the ruins of the Tower of St Augustine’s Church.

You can feel the contrast in the course of an hour walk. This is the first city in India built on a grid, with pavements constructed along all of its main roads. Shade trees were imported from South America, engineering blueprints for drainage and sewerage from Germany, and concepts for park gazebos and bandstands from England. Panjim is where the first non-Western “world citizens” asserted themselves, self-confidently brought Hinduism back into the public sphere, created a range of modern institutions for their own use, and sought what the passionate historian of Panjim, Vasco Pinho, describes as “freedom from fear the like of which has existed perhaps nowhere else.”

Dudhsagar Falls of Goa is a majestic waterfall where the white water gushing through the steep and vertical face of the mountain portrays a cascading effect. Also called St. Catherine's Cathedral this 16th-century masterpiece took 80 long years to finish and is one of the largest churches in the world. A flight of steps approaches its beautiful courtyard.  It was consecrated in 1640 and was built to honour the triumph of the Portuguese over the Muslim rulers of the city.Owing to such a magnificent aura and the glory, Se Cathedral has been stated as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Se Cathedral also endures the honour of being the seat of the Archdiocese of Goa. Se Cathedral is home to the historic “Golden Bell” which is famous around the world as it is the largest bell with a rich sound. This place is a combination of peace and beauty, visiting this place will not only rejuvenate you but will also fill you up with positivity.Legend of Saint Catherine of Se CathedralCredits: NagarjunCatherine was a lady who was considered as a Christian Saint according to tradition, and was martyred in the early 4th century at the hands of the pagan Emperor Maxentius. It is believed that she was both a princess and a noted scholar, who became a Christian at around the age of 14 and also converted hundreds of people to Christianity, and was martyred around the age of 18. Catherine was known to be a spiritual pathfinder and raise her voice against the oppression of the Christians under the rule of Roman emperor Maxentius. She was so strong and logical with her arguments that the king himself was incapable of countering them and has a then he formed a committee of 50 philosophers to debate her ideas.However, even the assembly conceded defeat in front of her and confessed Christianity as their belief. Out of anger, the king burnt the philosophers alive and sentenced st.catherine to prison. Catherine did not give up, and she was succeeded in converting not only the jailers but also the king's wife. It is believed that she showed the path of Christianity to 200 people. Even when she was facing the worse condition of her life, she continued to stretch the word of Jesus. She was honoured with the title of"patroness of the wheel-wrights" because it is believed then when she was fastened to a spiked wheel as it was mentioned in her death sentence the wheel broke and she was left uninjured. And when she was finally beheaded, it is said that angle took her remains and laid them to rest atop Mount Sinai. When you visit the Se Cathedral, you can witness the Saint Catherine ornaments, a crown portraying her royal birth and has a book in her hands, which signifies her sound knowledge as she points a spiked wheel, which reveals her martyrdom.Se Cathedral HistoryThe Cathedral is devoted to St. Catherine of Alexandria, it is said that it was built to celebrate the victory of the Portuguese ruler Alfonso Albuquerque who destroyed the Muslim army and took ownership of the city of Goa. Consequently, it is also called St. Catherine's' Cathedral. In 1953, the Cathedral was presented with "The Golden Rose" by Venerable Pope Pius XII. It is a gold ornament, which the Popes of the Catholic Church have traditionally favoured and given as a symbol of devotion or affection.You can witness it as it is placed on the tomb of St. Francis Xavier. It was approved by Governor George Cabral to be spread in 1552 on the remains of an earlier structure. The formation of the church began in 1562. The church was completed in 1619 and was consecrated in 1640.  It is a perfect place to experience a blend of peace and tranquillity. You will be filled with positivity when you will visit this sacred place.The architecture of Se Cathedral  The architecture of Se Cathedral is awe-inspiring and elegant. The architectural style is a blend of Gothic elements and typical Portuguese style, or you can say that the architecture style of the Se Cathedral is Portuguese-Manueline. There were two different techniques that were opted to make the church. The exterior was made in Tuscan style and the interior has been built in and Corinthian style. With dimensions of 250 feet long and 181 feet wide, this church has a  delightfully decorated entrance that measures around 115 feet in height. The church is amazingly decorated, yet the style is intriguing and simple. The Cathedral has been built on an elevated base of laterite, which is covered with the thick lime plaster.You can also see the bell tower which is located on the southern side of the façade. The building of the church is rectangular on the plan but has a cruciform layout in the interior. The main altar is devoted to Catherine of Alexandria, and you can also see several old paintings on either side of it. You can also see the Chapel, which is known as the Cross of Miracles, it is believed that there was an image of Christ that was said to have appeared in 1619.

History buffs will love this heritage walk around Velha Goa (Old Goa), former capital city of the Portuguese colonial empire. Abandoned after the outbreak of a deadly epidemic in the mid 18th century, this precinct is the last standing relic of a long lost past. Velha Goa houses some of the oldest churches and monuments in the state, and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Please Note: On Sundays mass services will be held at Se Cathedral and the Basilica of Bom Jesus. So, the entry will be subject to mass service timings. We will include a visit to the magnificent Our Lady of Rosary Church if we are unable to enter either of the churches.

• Can this heritage walk be done using a vehicle? While we ideally recommend experiencing Old Goa through a walk, we understand that some travellers may have physical limitations. A tour by vehicle can be organised as a special private experience, where we will do our best to ensure that the experience remains as close as possible to the heritage walk.
• Is photography permitted? Yes, photography is permitted in the areArchitectural photography of facades, doorways and archways are permitted. However,it is not permitted to take selfies or pose for pictures inside the churches. Photography & videography is also strictly prohibited at the Se Cathedral & Basilica of Bom Jesus.
• Can we consume beer / other alcoholic drinks during the experience? No. It is not recommended to consume alcohol during the experience as we will be visiting holy/religious sites. Alternatively, you can book our Goan Feni & Tapas Experience for a more immersive experience on local Goan cocktails and cuisine.
• Do we need to wear face masks? It is mandatory to wear face masks, use sanitizers and maintain social distancing in all public spaces.
• Are Covid-19 protocols followed during the heritage walk? All Covid-19 safety precautions will be taken by us. Our Storytellers are all double vaccinated, wear face masks, maintain social distance and avoid physical contact. All enclosed spaces will be sanitized by us.
• Are washrooms available? There are public washrooms available within the premises of the heritage sites. Washrooms in Old Goa Residency managed by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation can also be used.
• Please follow all standard Covid-19 precautions – such as wearing a face mask and the use of sanitizers.
• Avoid the consumption of alcohol before the experience as we will be visiting holy/religious sites.
• Strict Dress Code: Do not wear sleeveless clothes, shorts or short skirts above knee length. Knees should be covered at all times. If you are wearing sleeveless clothes, please carry a stole/shawl to cover your shoulders while entering the churches.
• Photography & videography is strictly prohibited at the Se Cathedral & Basilica of Bom Jesus. It is also not permitted to take selfies or pose for pictures inside the churches.

Wow experience & a memorable Heritage walk indeed!

This was unexpectedly one of the most amazing heritage walks I have been on. Make it happen team’s storyteller Nelson, who conducted the walk, is such an amazing storyteller. The overall experience was fun, happening and so much of history and knowledge , I remember myself saying ‘Wow’ and OMG a lot on the heritage walk as I was exposed to the spaced with the history of the Portuguese and the Churches, the Cathedral and the Chapels. This was such an insightful walk. For the First timers, do ensure you take the early morning Old Goa Heritage walk and then post that experience, take the Fontainhas Heritage walk (to make it a wholesome experience). I highly recommend the Make It Happen team for an Old Goa heritage walk folks who are interested in fun & in history in general.

Goldmine called Old Goa Heritage Tour

Truly this has been a treasure trove of a tour and has been a gem of an experience!!! I have visited these places in Goa at least 8 times since childhood but newer understood or comprehended on the historical significance until this tour And what a tour it has been… Magnificent Gold mine! The host Ms. Raysancia was at her immaculate best and like a true magician she unboxed the secrets one by one as we wandered around old Goa. Like a jigsaw puzzle; she helped hit all the pieces and helped us understand a perspective on colonization; past history; inquisition all in a matter of 3 hours

Walk through Old Goa with Young Ray! A wonderful walk through Old Goa monuments that talk to you about the rich history of the region – but only if you are lucky enough to have a knowledgeable narrator. And we were indeed lucky to have Raysancia (Ray) from Make It Happen guide us through! We started at 9am, and found the early start to be great as most of Goa is still waking up and you have all the heritage buildings to yourself.

Old worldly charm Dec 2021 – Solo I was at this walk on a very busy day before the feast of St.Francis Xavier. Old Goa was colourful with patrons attending the mass. Raysancia was wonderful. She took her time explaining the prominence of each church. The colourful chapel of the architect who constructed the church was a surprise. The old Goa after a night of rains, the greenery and the coconut plantations all around and the Mandovi river, was a beautiful sight.

A Great Walk through the corridors of power and piety! Feb 2022 A wonderful, guided tour through the rich architectural grandeur and religious traditions of the Portuguese, well choreographed to understand the evolution of a chapter of Goan history that involved negotiations among local and foreign powers. It wasn’t merely the monuments that were introduced but also the stories of power of those who had and those who were dominated. Nelson did a great job.

I am fond of heritage and history and this tour served me right. Amreen is an amazing and passionate story teller. I literally got goosebumps everytime she would talk about the history of the arches, monuments, rivers, bridges and churches. I highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to connect with the journey that Goa has gone through over the years.

RBC Heritage 2024 Saturday tee times, PGA Tour pairings and how to watch

A fter the first 36 holes of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina, four players are tied for the lead at 11 under : Collin Morikawa, Tom Hoge, J.T. Poston and Sepp Straka.

In all, nine players are at or within three shots of the lead.

Scottie Scheffler, the No.1-ranked player in the world fresh off his second Masters win, is 8 under after a second-round 6-under 65.

Rory McIlroy is one back of Scheffler at 7 under, while defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick is five back of the lead at 6 under.

The purse at the RBC Heritage is $20 million with $3.6 million going to the winner. The winner will also receive 700 FedEx Cup points.
