La tour Eiffel domine Paris depuis 1889, date de l’Exposition universelle où elle fut présentée au public. Mais combien de temps surplombera-t-elle encore la capitale ? En effet, nombreux sont ceux qui préféreraient s’en débarrasser. Après tout, il était prévu qu’elle soit démantelée 20 ans après l’Exposition pour en récupérer la ferraille.

Pour sauver son monument, Gustave Eiffel a un plan : il s’est rapproché de Gustave Ferrié, un ingénieur français spécialiste de la radiodiffusion, pour montrer à tous que sa tour peut accueillir l’antenne radio la plus haute du monde ! Demain, les deux ingénieurs rencontrent des officiels du gouvernement. Hélas ! leur démonstration est vouée à l’échec : c’est votre entreprise qui a travaillé sur le capteur de l’antenne, et votre assistant a donné un capteur défectueux à M. Ferrié lorsqu’il est venu chercher l’objet.

Ce dernier fonctionnera, mais il n’atteindra pas l’impressionnante portée vantée par Ferrié au gouvernement. Pourtant, vous en êtes sûr, il est encore temps de sauver la situation ! Vous devez immédiatement partir pour Paris, dans l’espoir de remettre le bon capteur à Ferrié et à Eiffel !

Chaque titre de la gamme de jeux Break In présente une expérience collaborative qui commence dès que vous soulevez le couvercle de la boîte de jeu. À l'intérieur, vous verrez une forme en 3D avec des graphiques représentant la zone dans laquelle vous essayez de vous introduire. Assurez-vous que tout est prêt avant de commencer - disposez vos cartes, installez-vous avec tous les joueurs, lisez vos instructions, puis commencez à chercher des indices pour résoudre les énigmes ! Une nouvelle game de jeu d’escape arrive chez Iello avec la série Break In. En ce début mars 2023, deux boites sont disponibles : Chichen Itza avec une thématique temple Maya et Tout Eiffel que je vais vous présenter.

Nous avons à faire, ici, à une plutôt grosse boite de jeu hexagonale , mais pourquoi si grosse ? Car elle renferme tout un système de jeu en 3D à l’intérieur. Le but n’est donc pas de sortir, mais bien d’ouvrir la boite au fur et à mesure du jeu et, donc, comme le stipule le slogan “Parviendrez-vous à y entrer ?”.

À l’ouverture du couvercle, on découvre une boite scellée super bien illustrée , que ce soit sur la face supérieure ou sur les côtés de l’hexagone. La boite est accompagnée de 50 grandes cartes avec symboles au dos, d’un miroir, d’un voltmètre-décodeur (filtre rouge) et de 8 languettes Solution recto verso pour valider vos réponses.

Le principe est le suivant : vous devez résoudre des énigmes pour avancer dans le jeu, soit par observation en retrouvant les symboles des versos des cartes sur la boite de jeu, soit en trouvant trois paramètres lors de vos résolutions d’énigmes : une icône, un chiffre et une couleur. L’icône vous permet de savoir quelle réglette Solution utiliser, le chiffre vous permet de savoir dans quelle encoche de la boite mettre la réglette et la couleur vous permet de savoir jusqu’où enfoncer la réglette dans l’encoche. Enfin, dans une petite fenêtre apparait la solution et donc un nouveau symbole à retrouver au verso des cartes. Ces cartes narrent l’histoire et vous emmènent vers les énigmes suivantes à mettre en lien avec les éléments à votre disposition. On retrouve un peu une mécanique de solution comme dans Exit et le disque décodeur, mais sous une autre forme et à chaque fois avec ces 3 paramètres, alors que bien souvent, on ne recherche que des chiffres dans les Exit. C’est ingénieux et ça fonctionne très bien .

En ce qui concerne la narration, vous vous retrouvez en 1908, et la tour Eiffel risque d’être démantelée. La mission est donc de prouver que la Dame de Fer peut accueillir l’antenne radio la plus haute du monde. La mission n’est pas impossible mais ne sera pas non plus facile. Tout au long du jeu, la narration est présente sur les différentes cartes, vous allez rencontrer différents protagonistes à la recherche de Gustave Eiffel lui-même pour l’aider dans cette quête. Vous allez passer dans différents lieux de Paris, l’Arc de Triomphe, un restaurant et j’en passe pour ne pas trop vous spoiler. L’Histoire globale s’appuie sur des faits réels avec le potentiel démantèlement en 1909 et le fait que G. Eiffel propose une vocation scientifique à la Tour pour éviter cela. Bref, rien n’est laissé au hasard du point de vue de la narration et ça fait toujours plaisir d’avoir un apport culturel, qui plus est sur un lieu mythique du paysage français. Donc aucune déception de ce point de vue, bien au contraire.

Venons-en aux énigmes en elles-mêmes. Les auteurs et éditeurs ont fait le choix de proposer un niveau de 2 étoiles sur 4. Effectivement, on se retrouve dans un niveau débutant + . Je comprends ce choix pour attirer un maximum de monde, novice ou non, dans cette nouvelle gamme, pour ensuite, je l’espère, proposer des boites plus complexes. Les énigmes sont donc basées pour une bonne partie sur de l’observation . La réflexion est tout de même bien présente pour comprendre comment fonctionne certains éléments, mais nous sommes plutôt bien guidés par les différentes cartes. Une ou deux énigmes de réflexions sont d’ailleurs un peu plus complexes et demandent un peu plus de temps à la résolution. Pour ce qui est des manipulations, on en trouve peu (attention, je parle bien des énigmes avec manipulation et non pas des ouvertures qui sont, elles, bien présentes). Celles-ci résident principalement dans l’utilisation du miroir, sous différentes formes certes, mais à plusieurs reprises. Quelques autres manipulations sont tout de mêmes présentes et font, elles aussi, leur petit effet. On retrouve donc des énigmes plutôt classiques dans l’ensemble, néanmoins elles sont très bien intégrées dans le jeu et la narration, ce qui fait que le gameplay est assez fluide et qu’il est plaisant de réaliser ce jeu. Pour chipoter, je dirais qu’une énigme était un peu moins claire, mais cela vient peut-être aussi de nous et notre façon de réfléchir. Enfin, pour ce qui est des indices, ceux-ci sont incrémentés sur plusieurs niveaux avant de vous donner la solution et ne sont visibles que par l’utilisation du filtre rouge qui a aussi bien été pensé sous forme de voltmètre pour l’inclure dans l’immersion et non pas juste fournir un filtre rouge simple.

Le score final est calculé en fonction du nombre d’indices utilisés, pas de notion de temps ici. Nous avons mis un peu plus de 1h30min pour réaliser le jeu sans non plus vouloir bombarder donc je pense que, suivant votre habitude des escapes, vous en aurez pour 1h15min à 2h de jeu.

Que dire de plus après avoir balayé tous les aspects de ce nouveau jeu ? Je pense que cette gamme est très prometteuse dans la manière de fonctionner. L’effet 3D est vraiment sympathique et original. La narration est top et j’espère que cela sera aussi le cas sur les autres boites notamment du point de vue culturel (je pense à la boite du temple Maya). Et même si les énigmes sont classiques pour ce premier opus, cela permet de bien découvrir la mécanique du jeu qui, elle aussi, est originale du point de vue décodage. J’espère maintenant trouver des énigmes moins connues dans les prochaines boites et suis impatient de rentrer, et non sortir, du temple.

In Break In: Eiffel Tower, you will discover, through different riddles, the secret history of the Iron Lady, which dominates the city since 1889. Many people would like to get rid of the Eiffel Tower... Gustave Eiffel has a plan to save his monument, but he won't succeed without you. The challenge of your adventure is nothing less than... saving the Eiffel Tower!

Each title in the Break In line of games presents a collaborative experience that begins the moment you lift the lid of the game box.

Inside, you'll see a 3D shape with graphics representing the area you're trying to break into. Make sure everything is ready before you start - lay out your maps, settle in with all the players, read your instructions, then start looking for clues to solve the puzzles!

Soon, you'll be told to open the game board and unfold the first of three layers, expanding your board and revealing the next layer, which you must explore to uncover clues that will lead you even further inside! The Best Times To Visit The Eiffel Tower To Avoid Crowds

It's not the controversial "Paris Syndrome" that's ruining vacationers' trips to the Eiffel Tower — it's other tourists. The Eiffel Tower is among the most visited tourist attractions, with nearly 7 million people traveling to the City of Love every year to see it. Considering just how many people want to see France's famous landmark, it's not surprising that it can be packed. For some visitors, waiting in line and fighting the crowds ruins the magic of the moment that they flew around the world to experience. While there's not exactly a quiet time at the Eiffel Tower, you'll generally have a much shorter wait and an easier time making your way through the crowds if you come after 8 p.m. in the middle of the week, especially in the off-season.

If your trip to Paris is already scheduled for a weekend in July when all the schoolchildren in Europe are on vacation and waiting in line to go to the Eiffel Tower's summit, your only hope is rain. While rain and fog might take away from the experience, a lot of other people aren't going to wait in line when the weather is bad, so if you're willing to brace yourself against the storm, you won't have to battle the crowds.

Visit the Eiffel Tower in the chilly weather

Paris is among the most popular cities to visit in the world, so there will always be some travelers in the city. However, the time of year that you visit has a big impact on how many other people will be waiting in line for the Eiffel Tower. Off-season for Paris is in the winter, though there is a slight spike in December. If you plan your trip for January, February, October, or November, you'll have an easier time getting reservations to the best restaurants in Paris, like Le Dôme , and have a shorter wait in line for attractions like the Paris Catacombs — and you might have a better chance at seeing the views from the Eiffel Tower summit without being blocked by crowds of tourists trying to snap a picture for their Instagram.

November, January, and February can be cold, with temperatures usually under 50°F, but your line is very likely to be shorter. Fortunately, February is usually pretty light on rain and snow, so your views from the top will be stellar, even if you have to wear a coat and scarf to enjoy them. If that's too cold for you, try October. While the official Eiffel Tower website  reports that crowds are low in October, temperatures are more likely to be in the 40s-60s, giving you the best of both.

Lines are shorter on weeknights

No matter what time of year your trip to Paris is going to be, you're much more likely to be able to enjoy unobstructed views of the city and short wait times to get on the elevator to the tower's observation decks if you come at the right time of day on the right day of the week. If you have a few days in Paris, plan your trip to La tour Eiffel for the middle of the week to avoid the hassle. As long as it doesn't happen to be a school holiday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are usually the quietest days to visit the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower is open all day, and a lot of people rush to the top in order to see clear views of the city in daylight, but Paris is known as the City of Light, and if you want to appreciate the glow coming from the city sprawled out below, a night visit to the tower is the perfect way to end a day of sightseeing. Best of all, if you head to the Eiffel Tower after 8 p.m., lines are likely to be significantly shorter than in the morning or afternoon.

Le Moulin Rouge

Topped by the sugarwork dome of the Sacré Cœur, the Montmartre neighbourhood was once famed for its artistic community and bohemian lifestyle. Hip boutiques and restaurants now line its charming cobbled streets, but traces of its glamorous, decadent past still endure. Chief among these is the Moulin Rouge , a luxe cabaret showcasing Cancan dancers whose confident swagger and high kicks have changed little since the days of Toulouse-Lautrec. You’ll easily spot it by the red windmill that gives it its name. For a glimpse of the Belle Epoque glitz inside, make sure to book ahead.

Notre-Dame de Paris

In spite of the fire that devastated it in 2019, Notre-Dame Cathedral still stands as a masterpiece of Gothic architecture – and the spiritual heart of the city. It may now be a building site, but it’s still worth circumnavigating its perch on Ile de la Cité, if only for the informative placards giving insight into the herculean restoration underway. If the distant sight of its majestic towers still leaves you pining for holy wonders, head to the glorious Sainte Chapelle nearby, or to Berthillon for a scoop of sorbet – nothing short of miraculously refreshing on a balmy day.

The Louvre museum

Once a medieval fortress, then a Renaissance palace, the Louvre sealed its fate as a cultural treasure (and treasure trove) with the addition of IM Pei’s striking glass pyramids. This sprawling museum is worth more than one return visit on a trip to Paris, so you can linger over Renaissance masterpieces or ancient Egyptian wonders as the mood takes you. Outside, the Jardin des Tuileries gardens calls for leisurely walks, or pony rides for little ones. Pop in to the Musée de l’Orangerie to gawp at Monet’s vast lily pad paintings, and end your outing at nearby Angelina with a pastry worthy of Marie-Antoinette.

The Paris Catacombs

Channel your inner Goth: for those of a macabre disposition, a visit to the Paris Catacombs makes for a fascinating tour of the city’s underbelly. The labyrinthine ossuary packs in some of the city’s more lurid history, from Merovingian times through to the Revolution, the Résistance and the occasional illegal rave. You’ll find the entrance near the Denfert-Rochereau station in the 14th arrondissement. It’s a bit out of the way of the usual tourist itineraries, but a detour to the nearby Fondation Cartier – a striking glass temple to modern art – certainly makes the trip worthwhile.

Synonymous in the collective imagination with the excesses of life at court, the Palace of Versailles is just as gilded and opulent as its reputation would have you believe. Louis XIV’s residence hosted royal families for just two generations before the revolution struck, but its ostentatious displays of power endure. Highlights include the Hall of Mirrors, a masterful reflection of the Sun King’s monumental ego, and Marie-Antoinette’s pastoral hamlet on the Trianon estate. Make a day trip of it on your holiday to Paris: the sprawling palace gardens and their spectacular fountains are a joy to explore.

Les Grands Magasins

Though some prefer a more intimate shopping experience, Paris’s grand department stores have lost none of their appeal since they opened in the 19th century. Start at La Samaritaine, newly reopened and worth the visit for its restored art nouveau interiors alone. On the Right Bank, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette offer floors of designer goods, luxe fashion and covetable homeware. The former’s known for its beauty hall; the latter for its Insta-worthy stained-glass dome. On the Left Bank, Le Bon Marché has a seriously good food hall and arguably the best escalators in town.

Fondation Louis Vuitton

It’s hard to miss the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s sail-like silhouette in the leafy expanse of the Bois de Boulogne. Designed by Frank Gehry, the deconstructivist building plays host to a permanent art collection, twice yearly big-ticket exhibitions and a live music metres. Look out for the bold, cartoon-like creations by Takashi Murakami, which memorably found their way onto a special Louis Vuitton collection. Multi-media commissions are dotted in and around the galleries: wander through Olafur Eliasson’s Inside the Horizon , an ethereal and kaleidoscopic sonic installation.

With its broad boulevards, cheap metro system and handy landmarks, Paris is a breeze to navigate on foot. When choosing a good area to stay in Paris , consider location as well as budget. The Marais beckons with its markets, cobbled streets and café terraces. Shopaholics would do well to book near Opera, within easy reach of the department stores and the luxury shops of Faubourg St Honoré. Culture vultures could opt for Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where arthouse cinemas, legendary Jazz venues and the bohemian Shakespeare & Co bookshop are just a short stroll away. Why the Eiffel Family and Others Don’t Like the Plan to Keep Olympic Rings on the Eiffel Tower

A s much as the French capital reveled in the celebratory air of the Olympics this summer, many are less than thrilled to discover Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo’s plan to keep the iconic Olympic rings on France’s most iconic monument even after the Games.

“The decision is up to me, and I have the agreement of the [International Olympic Committee]. So yes, they will stay on the Eiffel Tower,” Hidalgo said in an interview published in Ouest-France on Saturday. She told the news outlet that, thanks to the Olympics, the French “have fallen in love with Paris again” and that she wanted “this festive spirit to remain.”

Hidalgo’s plan to permanently alter the facade of the Eiffel Tower has sparked opposition from heritage conservation advocates, her peers, and even the family of the monument’s architect Gustave Eiffel. 

The Association of Descendants of Gustave Eiffel, consisting of about 70 living descendants of the architect, said in a press release cited by French media on Sunday that “it does not seem appropriate to us” that the Eiffel Tower, a historical symbol of Paris and France, “should be added to the symbol of an external organization in a lasting way, whatever its prestige.”

Built for the 1889 World’s Fair, the Eiffel Tower was initially meant to be dismantled after 20 years. But the structure was retained after Eiffel suggested that it be used for a variety of scientific purposes, including meteorological research and optical telegraph communications. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991.

Olivier Berthelot-Eiffel, president of the descendants group, told AFP that while they “don't see any problem” with the Olympic rings staying on the tower “a little longer” after the Paralympic Games, which conclude on Sunday, “the Eiffel Tower is not intended as an advertising antenna.” He added that Hidalgo should have consulted the Paris Council and other experts about such a decision.

Meanwhile, heritage conservation group SOS Paris accused Hidalgo of trying to leave her personal legacy on the iconic architecture. “Using the most famous monument in France to establish one’s dogma and remind the whole world, forever, that Anne Hidalgo made the 2024 Olympics, is going really far,” the group posted Sunday on X.

Even for Hidalgo, there are a few issues still to be ironed out. She said that the current Olympic rings attached to the Eiffel Tower, which are too heavy to permanently withstand winter weather conditions, will need to be replaced with lighter replicas from the same manufacturer. She also said that the city would have to think of a way to conceal the rings when needed, to protect it from breaching the Olympics’ political neutrality rules. (Last year, the tower was lit up with customized colors and messages in shows of solidarity with women's rights protesters in Iran and a warring Ukraine .)

A Change.org petition opposing the move to keep the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower was started on Sunday and has garnered thousands of signatures as of Monday. “Once the party time is over, our emblematic monument must return to its natural state,” it reads.

Culture Minister Rachida Dati, who unsuccessfully ran against Hidalgo for mayor in 2020, also weighed in on Sunday: “The Eiffel Tower is a protected monument, the work of an immense engineer and creator,” she posted on X. “Before any decision is made or any announcement is made in this matter, it is important that all procedures and consultations aimed at protecting heritage are respected.”

Criticisms have also reverberated among social media users, who are increasingly echoing calls to classify the Eiffel Tower as a historical monument. While the Eiffel Tower was listed as a historical monument in 1964, it has not been classified as one—a status that would give it the highest level of protection. In February, a proposal by Dati to classify the Eiffel Tower was struck down by Hidalgo.

Others have decried the Olympic rings as having “ no place ” on the Eiffel Tower.“Keeping the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower after the Olympics,” a popular French account posted on X, “is exactly like refusing to take down the Christmas decorations in your house because you had a great Christmas Eve.”

It was a show-stopping, powerful conclusion to the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics. Celine Dion returned to the stage to perform on a platform of the Eiffel Tower for a mesmerizing comeback performance.

This is Dion's first performance in over a year after  canceling her Courage world tour  in May 2023 amid her battle with stiff-person syndrome. The autoimmune and neurological condition, which, which Dion first revealed in December 2022, causes painful spasms and makes it hard to walk.

La tour Eiffel vous dévoile exceptionnellement les coulisses de la machinerie d’un de ses ascenseurs historiques ! Découvrez ce patrimoine unique au monde à l'occasion des Journées européennes du patrimoine les 21 et 22 septembre 2024.

Dès l’ouverture de la tour Eiffel pour l’Exposition universelle de 1889, les visiteurs peuvent accéder aux étages du monument en empruntant des ascenseurs. Si aujourd’hui ces appareils s’apparentent à un équipement usuel, à l’époque, ils constituent une véritable prouesse technique !

Ni ascenseurs au sens traditionnel, ni funiculaires, ni téléphériques... Les ascenseurs de la Tour, situés dans les piliers du monument, n'appartiennent à aucune de ces catégories. Ils sont tout simplement uniques au monde. Depuis leur première modernisation en 1899, leur mécanique est restée sans équivalent.

Soigneusement préservé et entretenu quotidiennement par les équipes du monument, ce patrimoine exceptionnel atteste aujourd’hui encore du génie visionnaire de Gustave Eiffel dont nous commémorons, cette année, le centenaire de sa disparition.

Au cours d’une visite commentée par un technicien de la Tour accompagné d'un agent d'accueil, vous découvrirez ce fonctionnement ingénieux qui permet, chaque jour, aux visiteurs du monde entier, de profiter du panorama parisien à 115m de hauteur.

Modalités d'inscription et de visite

Le nombre de places étant limité, la réservation d'un créneau horaire est obligatoire. Aucune inscription sur place n'est possible.

L'accès à la visite ne sera possible que sur présentation du billet nominatif.

La visite se fera uniquement en français et est estimée à 30 minutes environ. A l'issue, les visiteurs se verront offrir un billet leur permettant d’accéder gratuitement et librement au sommet de la tour Eiffel.

En prévision de l'affluence à la tour Eiffel, les visiteurs sont priés d'arriver 30 minutes avant l'heure de la visite. En cas de retard client, l'accès à la visite ne sera pas garanti.

Accès PMR : en raison de la conception historique du lieu, la visite de la machinerie n’est pas accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite.

L'accès au sommet peut être momentanément interrompu en raison de conditions climatiques difficiles ou en cas de forte affluence.

Anne hidalgo avait annoncé ce week-end dans la presse que les anneaux allaient "rester sur la tour eiffel" après les jeux paralympiques, avec l'accord du comité international olympique, mais sans préciser la durée..

Les anneaux olympiques resteront sur la tour Eiffel jusqu'aux Jeux olympiques de Los Angeles en 2028, et "peut-être" après, a indiqué vendredi 6 septembre la maire de Paris, Anne Hidalgo.

"La proposition que j'ai faite, c'est que jusqu'en 2028, c'est-à-dire jusqu'aux Jeux olympiques de Los Angeles, nous laisserons les anneaux sur la tour Eiffel et les Agitos (symbole paralympique, ndlr) sur les Champs-Elysées" , a déclaré Anne Hidalgo lors d'une conférence de presse. 

"Et si on ne peut toujours pas se passer de ces symboles majeurs qui nous rappelleront que les Jeux n'étaient pas juste une parenthèse, peut-être qu'après 2028 ils resteront. Peut-être pas, on verra" , a ajouté l'élue, soulignant que la décision revenait à la Ville de Paris, propriétaire du monument.

Oasis have spoken out about the chaos that ensued over tickets for their reunion tour.

All 17 shows on their UK and Ireland tour next summer sold out on Saturday (August 31). But it came after fans waited in online queues for hours only to find that websites had 'crashed' and prices for some tickets had more than doubled, costing as much as £350 each.

The band has now announced two more dates at Wembley Stadium in September. Tickets will be available through a special invite only ballot which will open first to fans who missed out last weekend after trying - and failing - to buy tickets through Ticketmaster.

The band said this is a 'small step towards making amends' for the situation that led to 'immense frustration and disappointment' for fans. In a statement released today (September 4), the band also said it had 'no awareness' that 'dynamic pricing' would be used.

The controversial practice involves increasing or decreasing prices based on demand. Ticketmaster has said it does not set concert prices and its website states this is down to the 'event organiser' who 'has priced these tickets according to their market value'.

But in a statement, the band said: "As for the well reported complaints many buyers had over the operation of Ticketmaster’s dynamic ticketing: it needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used. While prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to help keep general ticket prices down as well as reduce touting, the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations.

"All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience, but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve."

Following the ticket furore, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received 450 complaints about Ticketmaster adverts for the Oasis gigs. A spokesman for the UK’s regulator of advertising said the complainants argue that the adverts made “misleading claims about availability and pricing” - but it is believed that the ticket prices were set by promoters, according to the PA news agency.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has said it is “urgently reviewing” the ticketing market and that it is looking forward to working with the Government on the issue. The European Commission is set to look at the use of dynamic pricing as part of a review.

British regulators launched an investigation into Ticketmaster over its sale of Oasis tickets for the Britpop band’s upcoming reunion tour, including the company's use of "dynamic pricing" that increases costs to fans.

This past weekend, a crush of fans waited in hours-long queues on the platform to buy tickets to the band’s tour next summer before finding that prices had risen while they were in line due to the dynamic pricing system that hikes prices based on demand.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said Thursday that it will look into whether Ticketmaster breached consumer protection law. CMA’s probe into the company’s Oasis ticket sales will include whether buyers were given “clear and timely information” explaining that the tickets could be subject to dynamic pricing and how that would affect prices. It will also look into whether people were put under pressure to buy tickets at unexpected prices within a short period of time.

The practice of dynamic pricing itself is not illegal, but the watchdog is investigating whether Ticketmaster was transparent about the system ahead of time.

“Consumer law is clear — ticket sales sites must be transparent in their dealings with consumers and give clear and accurate information about the price people have to pay,” the authority said.

In a statement to NPR, Ticketmaster said it’s committed to cooperating with the CMA.

Oasis warned buyers that tickets sold on the secondary resale market, where they were predictably sold for major profit, would be voided . But many fans took to social media to express their surprise that some tickets from the official seller Ticketmaster had jumped to more than four times the starting price, with $100 standing room tickets later costing $466 before fees.

Oasis said in a statement that lead band members Liam and Noel Gallagher didn’t know that dynamic pricing would be used in the ticket sales, the BBC reported .

"It needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management,” the band said.

It added, “While prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to help keep general ticket prices down as well as reduce touting, the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations.”

The tickets that went on sale Saturday for the band’s concerts in England, Ireland and Scotland, from July 4 through Aug 17, 2025, quickly sold out. On Wednesday, two more dates were added , for Sept. 27 and 28, 2025, at London’s Wembley Stadium. The invite-only sale will first be open only to people who didn’t get tickets in the initial Ticketmaster sale.

Dynamic pricing will not be used for those ticket sales, the Associated Press reported .

It’s not the first time the company has been under fire for its use of dynamic pricing. After a similar pricing controversy affected the ticket-buying process for Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, the U.S. Justice Department sued Ticketmaster's owner , Live Nation Entertainment, for its alleged monopoly on live entertainment.
