Do I have to book a return trip? No. You only need to select and book the outward journey because the return trip remains open, allowing you to return whenever you like, during the day, to the original harbour.

How long can I stay in the destination harbour? You can choose to return to the original harbour at any time. Simply go to the harbour and catch the first Líneas Blue Bird returning to the original harbour.

How long does the journey take? The journey from Puerto Rico to Puerto de Mogán takes 30 minutes.

Can travellers stop in different ports on the way to the destination? Passengers can disembark at the intermediate stops made during the trip, which they have paid for, and once again board any of the subsequent departures to continue to the destination port.

Are people in wheelchairs able to do your tours? If the client’s mobility is zero, the service should be confirmed with the company before confirming the booking. The possibility of making a trip in these conditions depends on the chosen journey and the boat that covers the route.

If the client’s mobility is reduced, but they are able to walk 5 metres with the help of personnel, they can do any journey.

Neither scooters nor electric wheelchairs may come on-board.

What does the boat trip include? The boat trip includes just that, the boat trip and the ability to stop and explore all of the places where there are stops along the way to the final destination port.

What precautions should I take into account when preparing for the boat ride? We recommend taking the following measures:

• Take action against seasickness, because, although the journey is short and very close to the coast, if you are not accustomed to being in a boat you can have a bit of seasickness.
• Wear sunscreen and some type of hat.
• Wear appropriate clothing according to the weather on the day of the tour.

What happens if the boat does not leave because of adverse weather conditions? Would I lose my booking? Can it be exchanged for another day? In case of cancellation or changes, how will you alert me?

If unforeseen circumstances make it necessary to cancel the service, under no circumstances will the client lose their booking. You can opt to make the trip another day or be refunded 100% of the booking. By providing us with your email when booking, we will be able to contact you thusly in order to inform you of the situation.

It’s always so nice to go on a boat ride and have a good time in Mogan.

We went twice in the same week. We loved the idea of sailing along the coast and spending the day in Puerto de Mogán. I recommend it.

Perfect way to get to know Mogán. I went with my husband from Puerto Rico and we enjoyed the boat ride. I think it ended up being cheaper than going by bus.

13 euros more or less, and half price for the children, was quite a fair price. The entire family loved it.

Amazing day out from porto Rico to Porto de Morgan from boarding the Linares blue bird, friendly staff aboard the boat lovely views of cliffs and beaches from the boat and even stopped for 5 mins on return to see the fish below out from the glass bottom. The markets are a must at Porto de Morgan and also the yellow Submarine tour. All in all a pleasant day with lovely friendly people.

Small caves and stunning cliffs, always good for a little boat ride along the coast. We loved it.

For the same price you can go by bus, and since the best views are seen on the sea, I think we ended up making the best choice.

Puerto de Mogan boat trip, Gran Canaria

Boat trips with a toddler always seem a bit risky to me – if she gets bored/hungry/upset, you can find yourself trapped. And small boats without a toilet are even riskier… But I do love cruising along in the sunshine, the sun glinting off the waves.

So while I ditched any thought of dolphin or whale watching cruises in Gran Canaria , I loved the sound of the Lineas Bluebird water taxi which runs along the south coast – little glass-bottomed boats which act as ferries hopping between four different spots.

One of which is Puerto de Mogan, dubbed the Venice of the Canaries. Frankly, I’m not exactly sure why as the canals are few and far between but it is certainly one of the loveliest spots on the island, all bright bougainvillea, yachts bobbing on the marina, blue sea, beach and cobbled streets – all the excuse I needed for a Puerto de Mogan boat trip.

And as the trip between Puerto Rico, just down the coast from our villa, and Puerto de Mogan was only about half an hour, it was enough to satisfy my desire to get out on the sea but the perfect length for young kids. And it had a toilet on board.

It’s also the perfect relaxed start to a leisurely wander around Puerto de Mogan. This isn’t somewhere you go to tick off attractions on a list – its charm lies in the fact it’s incredibly picturesque, which is why this post is mostly photos and a video.

This is somewhere to wander the cobbled streets (scooter optional), browse the little souvenir shops, stumble across unexpected friezes on a wall, stop at one of the cafes, maybe wander to the beach and have an ice cream.

Or stop for lunch, as we did, at Cafe de Mogan on the marina for sparkling rose, fresh fish and seafood and massive ice creams. Fortunately there isn’t far to wobble/waddle back to the boat afterwards.

Need to know: Puerto de Mogan boat trip

It costs 6.50 Euros for a single ticket or 11 Euros return for an adult on the ferry from Puerto Rico to Puerto de Mogan, more for longer trips. The longest route, from Puerto de Mogan to Arguineguin, takes around 70 minutes and around 30 minutes between Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogan.

Children under five travel free on the Lineas Bluebird boat trips, while older children’s tickets are approximately half the price of an adult ferry ride.

Make sure you have cash as they didn’t accept card payments at Puerto Rico on the day we took our Puerto de Mogan boat trip.

The boats run approximately every hour. There’s an indoor shady section as well as an upper deck which is open to the sun, two glass bottomed sections (although there’s not really a lot to see on this stretch) and toilets.

Definitely – I think as it isn’t an official ‘tour’, it works out a lot cheaper but you still get the experience. And Puerto de Mogan is so lovely, I think half my photos from the trip come from that day 🙂 Wishing the sky was quite as blue today…

Hi, arriving next week for 10 nights. Can anyone there advise if it’s warm enough for shorts in the evening or are pants and jacket required? Thank you 😊

hi, we were there 18-22 Mar and it was warmer than I was expecting in the evenings. My husband was in short-sleeve shirt/top and light trousers and I wore light trousers/dress and cardigan - no jacket (and I'm a wimp!). Enjoy!

I'd wear trousers and at least a jumper, particularly around the sea front or barranco.

We’ve been here for the past week.

My wife has worn long trousers and carried a light jacket most nights.

Shorts are ok if you’ve got a hoodie or a cardigan. I’ve carried them when we went out but either worn them or put them over my shoulder on the way back.

Plenty of people walking about in ‘summer’ gear but they look freezing.

It’s colder now at night than it was in November.

Yes, it's actually cooler now in the evenings than it was in Jan/Feb. Jeans and coats in the evenings, but those are the type of clothes you would travel in anyway.

I’m here at the moment and whilst during the day it’s hot, it certainly does feel cooler in the evenings. I would definitely pack a cardigan/light weight jacket. We’ve not needed the air con in the apartment unlike in the summer months.
