PRG supported the design of Madonna’s tour, celebrating 40 years of revolutionary artistry, with LED and scenic.

After five years away from the touring scene and amid growing anticipation for a new album, PRG collaborated with Drake’s trailblazing artistic team to bring the 'It's All A Blur' tour to life.

• PRG provided creative solutions in lighting and video on Drake’s innovative arena tour.
• With one of the largest lighting rig shows for arenas, this show required two lighting crew chiefs to steer blended with cutting-edge technology.

When We Were Young Festival

PRG once again supported the anticipated emo, punk nostalgia fest who brought around 80,000 attendees to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds.

• This year, we supported American rock band, Waterparks with an SD10 Waves-enabled console package.
• Performances included Green Day, Blink-182, Gym Class Heroes, 30 Seconds to Mars and many more epic pop-punk bands.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Lollapalooza

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie returned to Lollapalooza’s biggest stage at this year’s festival.

• PRG’s Artist Development Team first worked with A Boogie this past Coachella when his team needed to scale up their production for his Sahara tent performance.

Atlantis The Royal

PRG partnered with CNX Conde Nast in the Middle East to provide a turnkey technical delivery for the hotel’s three-day ‘Grand Reveal’ opening event.

Finding an Event Production Company for Your Concert, Tour or Music Festival: What To Look For, How to Vet Them, and What You Need To Know

Start With The End In Mind

Before searching for your ideal concert, tour, or event production company, make sure you set the relationship up for success. This preparation includes starting early. Pre-production meetings for your event should begin roughly three months prior to the event’s date. You should also take this time to develop a clear vision for your event. Even a veteran event production company can have difficulty bringing out the potential for an event if your vision isn’t clear. You also need to make a checklist of the needs for your concert, event, or tour production. Items for your checklist include:

Sometimes an audio-visual company likes to stretch its offerings and moonlight as an event production company. It’s essential you work with an event production partner that can provide the full scope of services your event needs.

Event Planning, Event Management, and Event Production Companies

You also want to make sure you’re looking for the correct type of event production partner. Though they may sound similar, there are differences between an event planning company, an event management company, and an event production company. Music director of ‘company’ at playhouse square says update was needed, tweaks made in revival rids show of ‘all of the misogynistic things’.

The prescient gift — which forever changed his life — from his middle-school drama teacher was the full vocal score to Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s Tony Award-winning “Company.”

“As she handed it over to me, I got so intrigued,” Alterman said. “I remember saying I want to be ready now. We had the cast album, so a few days later we put it on I remember my head exploding, thinking (it was) different than anything I ever heard from the theater. I loved it.

“I spent the next few years just diving into the score. I learned how to play it on the piano. It’s always been a special show to me.”

While the New York City-area native eventually became a sought-after musical director, helming Broadway shows “Pippin,” “Next to Normal,” “Godspell” and “Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me,” as well as national tours of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Grease,” he was never too far away from “Company.”

Alterman made it a priority to see every revival possible, including a West End production.

However, it was the Broadway revival of “Company” — winner of five 2022 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival —- where his fandom truly got the best of him. After seeing the show, Alterman felt compelled to be a part of the production. Even though he hadn’t performed as a substitute keyboardist for years, that’s exactly where he found himself.

“It was so thrilling to even be around it, be one small part of it and get to hear the show every night,” he said. “When I knew the tour was going out, I campaigned hard because I really wanted to be able to take the rein and be involved with it every night.

“I wanted to stay connected to this production for as long as I could because I’m just completely enamored by it.”

Alterman is the music director of “Company,” which the KeyBank Broadway Series at Playhouse Square is presenting through May 19 at the Connor Palace .

Billed as a musical comedy masterpiece about the search for love and cocktails in New York, the revival production reframes the story of swinging bachelor Bobby. The new lead character is bachelorette Bobbie, who at her 35th birthday party has all of her friends wondering why she can’t find the right man and get married.

While the original production of “Company,” which premiered in 1970, was truly a revolutionary commentary of the times, perhaps some of the content hasn’t aged well. That’s why Alterman feels the update was needed.

“There is no better window into 1970 than this show, but we’re not in 1970 anymore,” he said. “So you have to either completely commit to it being a museum piece — warts and all, cringing at all of the misogynistic things — or shake it up.

“I love the approach they took. It’s enormously refreshing and compelling and solves a lot of the trickiness of the original through a modern lens that makes it relevant. This production is so brilliant. It just blows me away.”
