This, in turn, has brought a sea change in the tourism industry that had a commendable effect on society as well as every individual who participated in the activity. In this essay, these fruitful impacts will be discussed.

From the social point of view, the tourism industry has stimulated the economy and patronized the exchange of culture and ideas. When people travel, they make use of different services like transport, food, and lodging and buying memorabilia for which they have to pay in national or international currency. The national currency leads to the development of trade and commerce, while its international counterparts lead to an increase in the flow of foreign exchange. The sale of goods and services further leads to the creation of employment opportunities. Many people are engaged in hotels and restaurants, offer travel services, work as guides around local places and own shops as well as hire workers for selling crafts and basic essentials. Apart from the economic benefits, tourism also facilitates the reciprocation of conventions between the native and the visiting people. They learn the languages, come to know about the food and festivals and enjoy the songs and artistic crafts.

When people travel, they open their minds to new ideas. As they travel across the country or the globe, they face different kinds of situations and interact with various people. They enrich themselves with these experiences. Secondly, tourists make trips after labouring hard in their daily lives to invigorate themselves. This refreshes them to take up work again. People who work in the tourism industry earn their livelihood from various business activities. They interact with different nationalities of people, which helps them gain confidence and develop their communication skills.

Thus, the growing tourism industry has been beneficial on a social scale as well as for each and every person living in that social circle. This will help the nation a large to develop its infrastructure and bring about development.

Tourism is undoubtedly a booming industry that brings a myriad of benefits to both individuals and society as a whole. From economic prosperity to cultural exchange, the impact of tourism is far-reaching and significant.

First and foremost, tourism is a major source of revenue for many countries. The influx of tourists leads to increased spending on accommodation, dining, transportation, and entertainment, thereby contributing to the growth of local businesses and the overall economy. As a result, there is a vested interest in preserving these natural assets, leading to the implementation of sustainable practices and the protection of wildlife and ecosystems.

In conclusion, the benefits of tourism are multifaceted and undeniable. Not only does it drive economic growth and cultural exchange, but it also contributes to environmental conservation. As such, it is imperative for governments and stakeholders to continue promoting responsible and sustainable tourism practices to maximize the positive impact of this ever-growing industry.

tourism is an ever growing industry ielts essay

ELTEC English

Teaching ielts students., ielts essay correction: tourism is a growing industry..

Tourism is an ever growing industry. What benefits do you think tourism brings to individuals and society?

40 minutes, 250 words at least.

Nowadays, there is a rapid increase in the revenue generated from the tourism sector.   It helps in the country’s economic growth by increasing enormous (= increasing)  employment opportunities for the locals. Tourist business also helps   (avoid word repetition – helps ) in maintaining a healthy relationship between nations by exchanging cultural values.

Let us combine the two sentences to avoid repeating the word  helps:   It helps not only in a country’s economic growth by increasing employment opportunities but also in maintaining a healthy relationship between nations.

Undoubtedly, the travel industry is one of the widely used methods   (an industry is not a method. Logically incorrect.) to generate income and increase the country’s wealth. (Undoubtedly, travel plays a vital role in income generation and wealth creating both at the local and national level.)   Because of globalization, it is easy to commute from one place to another and people tend to go on vacations annually to discover new places or countries. This gives immense job opportunities to the locals (natives)   locals of tourist cities . For instance, Thailand is one of the world’s famous travel destination, (1)  known for its scenic beauty and beautiful beaches. Here, restaurants, hotels, and resorts are competing compete (maintain Simple Present Tense. Present continuous is incorrect. Can you guess?)   for tourist’s satisfaction and create offers as well as events to allure as much (much is uncountable in nature. Tourists are countable.) many   tourists as they can. According to a  global business report, Thailand generated 70 percent of country’s its  revenue from tourism in the year 2018.  (Though the ideas are logically developed, there are a few sentence structure and grammar issues. This will impact the GR score.)

1. Sentence structure issue: What is  known for its scenic beauty ? Thailand or Destination? This is a modifier and it MUST BE placed next to the noun it modifies.  For instance, Thailand , known for its scenic beauty and attractive beaches,  is one of the world’s famous travel destinations.

In addition,   (2) the benefits are not merely confined to economic aspects. Tourism can be advantageous to society in other extends   domains (areas) such as cultural exchange and diversity. People gather from different nations   from different nationalities , background s , and ethnic groups meet at tourist attractions . Such gatherings help them to mix and meet (mix includes meet)   with each other. Furthermore, they share their customs and values with the locals in a respectable manner which enhances prosperity and diversity. For example, Tourist country like India welcome s 2 million tourists every year to ISCON temple ,   and   (3) many American tourists now diligently follow this culture. In fact, they have contributed a lot to build built  a  similar temple in their country.  (Ideas are logically developed but there are numerous sentence structuring issues. GR score will suffer.)

2. This is NOT a new benefit. You’re just stating that there are more benefits. Wrong use of a cohesive device.

3. Note that you can not connect two independent clauses using a comma. Please use a FULL STOP or AND.

To conclude, tourism plays an important role for   in developing   development  and prosperity (4)  of countries. It represents a source of income and supports local economies of those countries , it   and also provides a vigorous cultural exchange for local societies and people.

4. Parallelism mistake: X and Y. The first words of X and Y should belong to the same family. While  developing  is an adjective,  prosperity  is a noun.

IELTS Writing Task 2: Travel & Tourism

Tourism is an ever growing industry.

What benefits do you think tourism brings to individuals and society.

Essay Response:

As travelers continuously flooding tourist destinations across the globe, many people consider tourism as a sunshine industry due to its huge potential as an economic driving force in every country.  This essay will highlight the positive impact of this business to people and in society.

Many developing countries enjoy the benefits that tourism brought to their country. This industry make a considerable contribution to the economic growth in many countries. Employment is perhaps the easiest benefit that have been identified. This business provides decent livelihood to individuals whether direct or indirectly jobs particularly in marginal areas. For example, tour guides, locals mostly the preferred tour guides among visitors as they well-versed about the history of the place and can speak the local language to natives. This can be a great source of pride for the local people about their cultural heritage and the preservation their own identity. Hence, natives will help authorities to preserve their heritage sites that has a potential risk of being disappeared.

Similarly, the contribution of tourism has proven as one of the most effective means of providing significant foreign exchange sources to host communities. Firstly, visitors spent dollars for their expenditures such as basic needs like food, accommodation and transport services along with entertainment and amusement. Secondly, dollars incomes from business establishments and local workers is often circulated into local economy. This sector contributed not only to dollars but can also trigger local governments to make infrastructure improvements to increase access to essential services namely water, sewage system, telecommunications and transport. These major infrastructure projects can potentially improved the quality of life for residents.

In conclusion, the benefits of tourism being explored above undoubtedly beneficial to local people particularly the poor. When a destination is well polished, tourist will come in flock and community’s income will increase significantly. However, travelers and natives alike need to remember the importance of maintaining the area to become sustainable , sustainable in the sense that the environment is not destructed.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • In a nutshell
