Whilst roaming this beautiful and calming space guests get the opportunity to learn about the various trees and plants through descriptive plaques. Stroll up the ramp towards the observation deck for excellent views and the chance to take some memorable photos.

There are also restrooms in here and spaces for people to pray. Feeling hungry? Stop by a small food cart outside The Greenhouse that sells snacks and beverages.

Visitors will also find a beautiful lake in the middle of the Greenhouse. Split into two, the lake symbolises the miracle of the serpent that appeared when prophet Moses threw his staff at God’s command. The appearance of the snake was God’s way to assert the truth of his sovereignty and the prophet’s sincerity towards obstinate individuals. The lake epitomises exactly that.

I have been to this park and I had a great time. The caves are stunning and the 12 gardens are just a treat for the eye. It’s a must-see place.

Glad you had such a great time.

Dubai has built everything that the nature has not provided, be it an island or a canal. The only thing that was remaining was a cave. With Quranic Park, Dubai has replenished that shortfall.

Completely agree with you. The people of Dubai love to defy the odds and shock the world.

Avatar for Aanchal Iyer

Are people of all religions allowed here or only Islam followers are allowed to be in the park?

No sir, everyone is welcome. One of the main reasons this park was built so people from other cultures can learn about Islam.

Avatar for Aanchal Iyer

We visited this Islamic Park last year and it was a wonderful experience. The Miracle Cave is truly a namesake place. We got to learn a lot about Islam through video clips.

Glad you had a wonderful experience. One of the main reasons why Quranic Park was made is for visitors to learn about Islam. The whole learning experience is really well done

Avatar for Aanchal Iyer

Hi, since the whole park is dedicated to the Quran, are there any restrictions regarding clothing? And do we need to carry our own food?

Yes, please dress modestly. Regarding food, there are many food carts at the park so you need not carry your own food.

You can find all our favourite parks, gardens and outdoor spaces in Dubai here

What is the Quranic Park?

Spanning over 60-hectares, the different sections at the Quranic Park are inspired by the plants and miracles mentioned in the Holy Quran.

The two main attractions at this park are, ‘Glass House’ , a temperature-controlled greenhouse for plants and ‘Cave of Miracles’ , a man-made cave illustrating some important stories from the Quran.

You will also find here 12 orchids displaying the different plant species mentioned in the Quran, such as figs and black seed.

Inside the Quran Park Dubai

The park offers visitors a beautiful and intelligent insight into the teachings of the Quran while being a fun place to visit as a family . You will find here lawns of green grass, flourishing flowers, and rows of date palm trees.

You will be able to spot golden trees leading up to the ‘Glass house’, which are solar paneled ‘trees’ providing shade, a place to rest and the opportunity to charge your phone.

The lake you find here is a visual representation of a story mentioned in the Quran. A walkway goes along the centre of the lake depicting the splitting of the sea, a story from the time of Prophet Musa/Moses. The other two attractions and the most frequently visited at the Quran Park are the ‘Cave of Miracles’ and ‘Glass House’.

Cave of Miracles

This man-made cave is the first attraction you will come across when entering the Quran Park. Using clever lighting and interactive displays, the cave teaches you about the seven miracles mentioned in the Quran.

As you enter the cave, you are welcomed with an introductory video clip of the Quran. This is then followed by video displays in different sections of the caves, mentioning the different miracles revolving around the Prophets mentioned in the Quran.

The audio that accompanies the video is currently in Arabic and there are no English subtitles, however, English commentary will be made available soon.

Glass House

This large greenhouse made of glass panels replicates a cool-dry Meditteranean climate to be able to grow the 29 different plants and trees that are mentioned in the Quran and the ‘Sunnah’ (the way of the Prophet).

Once inside, you will find yourself surrounded by plants that are not usually found growing here, such as corn, olive trees, basil, barley, pomegranates, banana, wheat and much more. You don’t need to be an eager botanist to find yourself marveling at the beauty of these plants.

With clear signboards for each species of plant and tree, you can learn more about the health benefits they provide and where they have been mentioned in the Quran. It is difficult not to feel a sense of calmness and wonderment when strolling through this temperature-controlled greenhouse. Many plants that would otherwise not grow outside their natural habitat can now be seen blooming almost all year round in this desert city.

You must not give up on the opportunity to stroll up towards the observation deck. The place gives excellent views of the Glass House and is the perfect spot to capture some memorable photographs.

Quranic Park – First Ever Park Of Its Kind in Dubai

The front gate - Gate 1 of Quranic garden dubai

Al Khawaneej is home to some unique parks in Dubai. In March 2019, there opened yet another park in the area. This latest addition to the list of parks in Khawaneej is unique by many measures. The Quranic park is the first-ever Quran-inspired park in the world.

Islam is deeply rooted in Arab culture. Even Though modernity has taken over much of the city, it has managed to keep its roots. The Quranic park is a reflection of this. The park welcomes Muslims and non-Muslims to learn and have a good time. Find out more about this unique park in Dubai.

The Quranic Park in Dubai, Al Khawaneej

The park covers an area of 60 hectares. This vast park has different sections, serving different purposes and themes. The park features the plants and herbs mentioned in the Quran and the prophetic traditions. An artificial cave tells the miracles of 24 different prophets through audio and visuals. Apart from these, there is a play area for kids, a cafeteria, a fountain, and a lake.

The lake is divided into two, with a walkway in the middle. This lake represents the miracle of Musa, who saved the people of Israel from Egypt by parting the Red sea. There are a few fountains in the middle of this lake. So if you are walking on the walkway between the lake on a windy day, there is a high chance of getting wet.

The Glasshouse

The beautiful-looking greenhouse is in one corner of the park. Like every other glasshouse, this one, too, houses plants. But unlike others, the glasshouse in the quranic park shows those mentioned in the Quran and Islamic traditions (also called Sunnah).

visit cave of miracles in uae

As of now, there are 29 varieties of trees and medicinal herbs in the facility. These include pumpkin, fig, watermelon, etc. The glasshouse is air-conditioned. Instead of traditional air vents, fake trees that blend into the whole aesthetic of the place are used as air ducts.

You can see bronze poles with nozzles in them to water the plants. They spray mist as per the requirement of the specific plant.

A small artificial stream with fish in the glasshouse complements the whole ambiance. A romp way that spirals across the glasshouse lets you walk around and look at the different plants. The observation deck at the top of the rampway gives a complete view of the greenhouse.

Each plant has a signboard against them with its name and minor details. But you would wish they had added more information. An information board near the park entrance lists all the plants present inside the park.

The greenhouse houses those plants mentioned in the Quran that do not survive in the desert climate. The rest of them are grown in the outside garden. There is also a shop that sells the saplings and seeds of the plants on display.

The mobile app by the same name as the park, supported in both ios android, will let you find out more about the park.

The Cave of Miracles

The cave talks about the miracles given by God to all the prophets mentioned in the Quran and traditions. Each section of the cave is dedicated to specific miraculous incidents. Animated videos and sound effects make the stories engaging.

visit cave of miracles in uae

On your visit inside the cave, a guide will explain the details and walk you through them. The cave is enormous, but only some features are fully functional yet. It has been meticulously crafted to resemble a natural cave replete with stalactites.

One downside is that, at the moment, the videos are only in Arabic. Also, they are designed with kids in mind. So some adults may not find them interesting. But the work to translate the videos is underway and will soon be completed.

When you see the cave, it is better to choose a day other than weekends. Because the cave is not large enough, you will have to wait in the queue to get in. And on weekends, this can be quite a bit long.

The Gardens

The orchard garden in the park is quite large. Plants from the Quran and Sunnah are present here, as well. They are well-kept and manicured. You can spend hours walking in this garden.

visit cave of miracles in uae

Plants that need not be kept in the greenhouse are grown here. The garden has dozens of plants, including the Sidr tree and pomegranate. Again, many of the plants are pretty young. It will take them some time to grow to their total. If you find them unimpressive now, you should visit again after a few months or maybe a few years.

There are two play areas suitable for kids between 2 and 12. Surrounding the park is a rubber jogging track and a cycling track.

Prominent sculptors in the shape of trees provide shade along the walkway. The canopy of these trees is solar panels that power the charging stations in their trunk and the park lights. Boxes of these tree shades are embellished with golden Arabic calligraphy. These perfectly demonstrate integrating modern and eco-friendly technology into our daily lives without compromising aesthetic beauty.

Quranic Park Ticket Prices

Entry to the park is free for all. But the glasshouse and the cave have a small entry fee. Both of them have separate tickets that cost five AED each. You can pay for the ticket with your NOL card. You can get one from the counter outside the Cave of Miracles if you do not have an NOL card.

The park offers free parking to visitors.

Quran Park Timing

  • Weekdays (Saturdays – Thursdays): 8.00 am to 10.00 pm
  • Fridays: 3.00 pm – 10.00 pm

Attractions Near Quranic Park Dubai

The Al Khawaneej area is home to a few other unique attractions. Some of them are:

  • The Yard by Meraas
  • Mushrif park
  • Cycling and walking track

Location of Quran Park

The Quran park is located in Al Khawaneej, opposite Mushrif park. The park is on Al Warqa road. The best way to get here is by driving. If you are coming by public transport, you will have to walk nearly 2 kilometers after getting off the bus. Because the parking is free, taking a car is even more convenient.

The park provides an introduction to Islamic traditions, faith, and practices. Once fully developed, the park will have an umrah corner to demonstrate rituals of the Islamic pilgrimage to the mecca. The time magazine listed it as one of the world’s most incredible places in its recent edition. The park will help build cultural understanding and teach peace in Islam.

visit cave of miracles in uae

All in all, the idea behind the park is excellent. Who else would have thought it possible to make a park based on the holy book? But because the park is very new, it will take some time to reach its full potential. Visiting the park even now is worth it too. But it would help if you did not keep your hopes high.

If you want to visit the attractions in Dubai and look around, a city tour is a great option. A Dubai sightseeing tour will let you explore the major sports in the city in a few hours. This is an excellent alternative to a task that will take a few days to weeks.

Residents rush to make the most of the 60 hectare novel garden during the first weekend

The Quranic Park aims to build bridges

Dubai: Residents flocked to the newly opened Quranic Park at Al Khawaneej during the first weekend to take in its many marvels.

Dubai Municipality’s 60-hectare Quranic Park has 43 plants and seven Prophet miracles mentioned in the Holy Quran. The newly opened park also has a walkway dedicated to exercising and cycling.

As Dubai Municipality’s Director General Dawood Abdul Rahman Al Hajiri had announced earlier, the open park without walls would allow everyone to benefit from its various facilities with the entrance fee limited to only the Cave of Miracles and the Glass House at Dh10 each.

The park in Khawaneej area

“Among the most important elements of the project is the Glass House containing the plants mentioned in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, which grow under certain temperatures and special environmental determinants, as well as shops selling herbs and plants mentioned in the Holy Quran,” he said.

Among the most important elements of the project is the Glass House containing the plants mentioned in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, which grow under certain temperatures and special environmental determinants, as well as shops selling herbs and plants mentioned in the Holy Quran. - Dawood Abdul Rahman Al Hajiri, Dubai Municipality’s Director General

“The park consists of 12 gardens containing the plants mentioned in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, with its scientific and medicinal benefits and uses, including bananas, pomegranates, olives, melons, grapes, figs, garlic, leeks, onions, corn, lentils, wheat, pond beans, ginger, tamarind, basil, pumpkins and cucumbers,” Al Hajiri said.

“In addition to the solar energy trees, inspired by the art of Arabic and Islamic fonts designed specifically for the Quran Park project, it contains solar panels, Wi-Fi system, phone-charging stations and shaded seating for visitors.”

The Quranic Park

The Cave of Miracles, which contains seven miracles mentioned in the Quran, displays them with the latest interactive techniques.

The park also includes several kiosks in all gardens to display information on all types of plants and cultivated trees, the benefits of their uses in food and medicine, as well as the verses mentioned in the Quran.

Al Hajiri explained that the mission of the Quran Park is to contribute to enhancing of the cultural and scientific roles of Islamic heritage by localising the plants mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah and the embodiment of the Islamic heritage.

“The Quranic Park aims at building bridges of intellectual and cultural communication with different cultures, religions and people, by introducing the cultural achievements of the Islamic religion in the field of plant ecology and preparing a scientific database for the plants of the Arab environment and to improve the efficiency of performance in the fields of agricultural production and scientific research,” he said.

“The site of the strategic project in Khawaneej area, covering an area of 60 hectares, aims to present the values of Islam, which is the religion of tolerance, love and peace.

"It is a strong doctrine that embraces all social and human virtues. Peace is one of the principles of Islam that has deep roots in the hearts of Muslims and has become a part of their existence and the goal of Islam on earth.

"The Muslim is ordered to deal with others nicely and be benevolent and just in dealing with them as long as they are peaceful in their dealings and do not show enmity and hatred with Muslims,” he added.

For the second year running, Time magazine has released a list of the 'World's Greatest Places' and Dubai's Quranic Park is among the chosen ones this year.

The world's first Quran-inspired park opened in Al Khawaneej this April, celebrating the teachings of the Islamic holy book.

It boasts more than 60 hectares of green space, including an Islamic Garden, an array of plants mentioned in the Quran, two children's play areas, solar power harvesting 'trees' featuring calligraphy, and a "cave of miracles", which uses technology to educate people about the seven miracles revealed in the Islamic text. It is free to enter.

"The park's aim, per the city's municipal government, is to bridge cultures and promote tolerance by offering visitors exposure to Islam in a family-friendly space," writes Hillary Leung for Time .

The annual list celebrates the "100 destinations to experience right now".

To compile it, the publication called for nominations across a variety of categories – including museums, parks, restaurants and hotels – from its editors and correspondents around the world, as well as industry experts.

Each spot is evaluated on key criteria, such as quality, originality, sustainability, innovation and influence. The final selection is separated into three sections: To Visit, To Stay, and To Eat and Drink.

Other great places to visit in the region

In the first category, Dubai's Quranic Park is listed alongside Egypt's Red Sea Mountain Trail, the country's first long-distance hiking trail. "The new route is a community tourism initiative managed by the local Maaza tribe and dedicated to preserving Bedouin heritage and empowering nearby communities," reports Joseph Hincks.

Also in that list is the world's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, India, which was unveiled towards the end of last year. At 182 metres, it stands on an island in the Narmada River, towering over the Sardar Sarovar Dam.

The tourist attraction pays homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who became India's first Deputy Prime Minister in 1947.

Other attractions on this list also include Troy Museum in Turkey, as well as the brand-new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in California, the Mori Building Digital Art Museum in Tokyo and the Geosea Geothermal Sea Baths in Iceland.

Greatest places to stay

Under the second category, some incredible hotels are featured, such as Six Senses Bhutan, Kachi Lodge in Bolivia's Unyuni Salt Flats, Leopard Hill in Kenya, and a number of cruise ships, including Celebrity Edge, Norwegian Joy and AmaMagna.

From the region, the Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort, one of the Hyatt's newest properties, is included. It is the first hotel in the new mixed-use development, Ayla Oasis. "The stark white buildings and azure accents evoke Mediterranean serenity with Middle Eastern details – and the ancient city of Petra is less than two hours away," Hannah Lott-Schwartz writes.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla (@hyattregencyaqaba)

In India, Soho House Mumbai has made the cut. Nick Jones' members-only club, which is well-known throughout the US and Europe, has been given a local spin in the form of an 11-storey building that overlooks the Arabian Sea. "The unique feel comes in the shape of block-printed fabrics from Rajasthan; handwoven cane furniture; environmentally sustainable, sari-coated lampshades; and some 200 art pieces by mostly South Asian artists, including Bharti Kher and Subodh Gupta," writes Joseph Hincks.

Greatest places to eat and drink

As is all too common with these sorts of lists , this section does not include any restaurants from the region (similar to the World's 50 Best Restaurants, which annually fails to select entrants from the Middle East). The only spots included from Asia are Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and 80/20 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Wolfgat , the tiny beach restaurant in a fishing village in South Africa's Western Cape, is also listed. Run from a 130-year-old cottage, the Paternoster eatery headed up by chef Kobus van der Merwe was this year named Restaurant of the Year at the inaugural World Restaurant Awards that took place in Paris, France in February.
