RIP to a legend in his own time who began at the outset of his artform, was cheated out of commercial success early on and then went on to define an underground movement. Doom invented his own rap flow that's now become a norm: an overlapping rhyme style with new levels of enjambment, packing more words per paragraph than a Whitman poem and rich in comic book surrealism and Pynchonesque hidden symmetry and connections. Essential early 21st century hipness, and maybe the GOAT.

MF DOOM would die on Halloween and tell everyone at the end of the year. I was half expecting a DOOM bot but was pleasantly surprised when it was in fact him on Stage. Watching this concert among many other videos is part of my mourning process right now.

R.I.P to the legendary villian who inspired my passion for rap/hip-hop music. The world won't be the same without him. JUST REMEMBER ALL CAPS WHEN YOU SPELL THE MAN NAME.

It's been 2 years since we lost Daniel Dumille AKA MF DOOM AKA Viktor Vaughn AKA King Gheedorah. Like a true villain, he turned the hip-hop underground into his underworld lair!

Some of y'all associate Michael Myers's mask with Halloween, but for me it'll always be the Metal Face! This is the day DOOM left the world. I guess in a way, the most gangster, villainous thing he could do was to depart on the last day of October and have the rest of the world not know about it until 2 months later!

One of a kind! Never to be duplicated! Your favourite rapper's favourite rapper! Rest in Power!

MF DOOM will be sorely missed. From his unique flow, to his ability to sample anything and turn it into a raw beat, DOOM has been incredibly influential on my musical taste. Scooby-Doo cartoons? Beatles songs? Kaiju films? He could take it and mold it into a rap classic. This live concert footage shows DOOM in his element, slinging rhymes and having fun. What a pioneer.

We were thrilled to the gills to have the chance to design MF DOOM's album release tour poster. Our original top secret idea didn't work out, but rest assured we'll come through with it soon enough, and heads will cold get flown, yaoming? But here is the tour poster which DID happen, a typical street scene in Brooklyn, NY, circa 1982, with DOOM's bodega hopping as usual. Stop in for specialty food items from each featured city along the tour, including Minneapolis' Jucy Lucy.
