Location is fine. Cleaniness is fine. The problem is the thin walls and noise. We tried to get a top floor and was denied. Of course in the morning it sounded like a 400 pound heifer on the floor above us. I’ll never understand why people can never be considerate and step lightly when they know there is a room below them. I will never understand why a person has to cross back and forth 50 times. Really? I guess I should be grateful “it” didn’t have two rugrats running back and forth or that we didn’t have to hear “it” mating with someone or itself at night. A lot of the other morning noise was people talking loudly walking by and the cleaning staff pushing their cleaning supplies and talking loudly was also loud. If noise isn’t an issue or you can get a top floor, have at it.

Great Place and location but traffic noise is brutal”

First the good news…Great location right outside of Hollywood and LA. Far enough from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough and very easy to get to them from here. Very easy to find and get in and out of. Parking lot is sufficient our room was very clean, (smelled like weed but where doesn’t it. nowadays) great water pressure from the shower, and friendly, informative and courteous front counter staff! Shuttle to the studios with friendly drivers. Room size is good and Retro vibe is fun if that’s your thing. All the other guests were quiet and respectful during my stay. Now the bad news. Beds were extremely uncomfortable I like a firm mattress but these were very very stiff like sleeping on a plywood board. Also the pillows were extremely uncomfortable and no substance to them complete mush like laying my head in mashed potatoes. But the worst thing is the amount of traffic going by overnight it was terrible I felt like I was sleeping along the I-5 freeway. The Inn I guess is on a busy street? because the traffic was continuous overnight and I could hear it the entire time in our room which made it very hard to sleep. It literally sounds like the cars are driving right outside your door. Not the hotels fault I know they can’t control the amount of traffic going by their establishment, I don’t know if it’s an echo chamber in front of the place or what? And I live in a large city where I’m used to hearing traffic and sirens, but this was insane. So if you’re looking for a quiet good night sleep do not stay here. Outside of that the hotel itself is a gem.

1. TRUE ROMANCE [1993]

The Safari Inn ’s most notable onscreen appearance was in 1993’s True Romance, where it masqueraded as the supposed Hollywood-area motel where Clarence Worley (Christian Slater) and Alabama Whitman (Patricia Arquette) stayed while visiting L.A. Some camera trickery and crafty editing was used to make the hotel appear as if it was located on Sunset Boulevard in the movie.

2. APOLLO 13 [1992]

In July 1969, astronaut Jim Lovell hosts a house party where guests watch Neil Armstrong’s televised first human steps on the Moon. Afterward, Lovell, who had orbited the Moon on Apollo 8, tells his wife Marilyn that he intends to return to the Moon to walk on its surface. The wives and girlfriends of the astronauts all stay at the Safari Inn during the mission.

3. INCREDIBLES 2 [2018]

After the Incredibles family loses their home, the characters begin living in a very vintage-looking motel called Safari Court. The distinctive building, colored with yellow and pink hues, is recognizable for a reason: It’s based on a real place. The hotel is modeled after the Safari Inn , a semi-famous hotel in Burbank, CA located only a few streets away from Walt Disney Studios. Clearly, the photogenic location made an impression on the filmmakers.

The location was really good, it was close to places to eat and you could easily get to the Hollywood stars walk of fame! The shuttle bus to universal studios was brilliant. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was perfect as it was very hot!

We wanted to stay in Burbank, as we were visiting friends nearby, and the Safari Inn was perfectly located. Also, as it features in films such as True Romance, we thought it would be fun to stay in a famous venue. The staff were helpful, kind and courteous, and the hotel is well laid out in a motel-like structure, allowing easy access to your room from your parking space.

Safari Shuttle

While you’re at the Zoo, hop aboard Safari Shuttle for a quick trip from one end of the park to the other. All day long, seven days a week (from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), the Safari Shuttle picks up passengers, circles the Zoo, and returns to the main flamingo exhibit near the front entrance. You can get on and off the tram as often as you like at six different stops. The last trip departs at 3:30 p.m.

Woman, man shot dead in suspected murder-suicide in southwest suburban Chicago motel

LEMONT, Ill. (CBS) -- A woman was found murdered Thursday morning at a motel in southwest suburban Lemont, and a man's body was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.

Lemont police were called to the D-Lux Budget Inn, 12241 Archer Ave., at 9:33 a.m. They found a woman in an end unit at the motel who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was dead.

A short time afterward, police canvassed adjacent rooms in the motel and found the body of Richard Crane, 62, who was dead of a self-inflicted gunshot. The investigation determined the man had shot himself with the same gun that was used to kill the woman.

A murder-suicide is suspected.

A motive was not known as of late Thursday, and police have not established a relationship between Crane and the woman.

The investigation was ongoing late Thursday, but there was no threat to the community.
