Torklift International

Equipment needed for towing or hauling a Lance Camper

Lance Camper w Ultra Deck

The SuperHitch and SuperTruss towing system are recommended to use with your Lance truck camper, travel trailer or toy hauler. For truck camping, Torklift also recommends completing your RVing and towing package with Torklift frame-mounted tie downs, quick-disconnect turnbuckles and StableLoad suspension stabilizer for your truck. Take Lance’s word for it -- Their recommendations ensure you’re maintaining the integrity and the safety required for an investment like your Lance unit.

Lance Camper

• Engineered vehicle specific to ensure a proper fit to your truck, from ½ ton to 1 ½ ton trucks • Most applications are no-drill • Dual receiver allows the ability to insert accessories into the top receiver while towing from the bottom • Only line of hitches with reinforced hitch pin locations preventing the hitch pin holes from wearing and elongation, commonly referred to as “egging” • Made in USA and backed by Torklift’s Legendary Lifetime Warranty

Don’t be inhibited by factory installed hitches. With SuperHitch, maximize the towing capabilities of your truck with a strong hitch. It’s important to note that Torklift recommends staying within the towing capacity set by your vehicle’s manufacturer. With the highest weight ratings in the industry, the Outlaw Series includes the following receiver hitch and towing hitch accessories:

• SuperHitch Hero 15K receiver – 15,000 lbs pull, 1,500 lbs tongue* •  SuperHitch Original 20K receiver – 20,000 lbs pull, 2,000 lbs tongue* • SuperHitch Magnum 30K receiver – 30,000 lbs pull, 3,000 lbs tongue* • SuperHitch Pintle and Ballmount accessories – up to 30,000 lbs capacity

*When used with weight distribution.

SuperTruss

The SuperTruss hitch extension comes in multiple lengths ranging from 21 inches all the way to 60 inches. Refer to the chart for extension lengths and weight capacity ratings. Safely tow while enjoying the luxury of your Lance truck camper.

truss-capacities

Beyond the SuperHitch and SuperTruss systems, Torklift also recommends other truck camping equipment to use with your Lance that improves safety, stability and ease of use.

Other necessities for Lance truck campers:

Frame-Mounted Tie Downs Torklift TRUE frame-mounted truck camper tie downs for Lance Camper have four independent points bolting directly to the truck frame, dramatically improving stability and handling while hauling the truck camper. By attaching to the foundation of the truck, prevent any possibility of bed and bumper damage, a problem often encountered with bed-mounted tie down systems. Providing a secure and snug tie down fit designed for your specific truck model, Torklift tie downs don’t compromise any ground clearance and are hidden when not in use (just remove the insert). Click here  to learn all of the benefits from frame-mounted tie downs.

Lance at SEMA

Prevent bed damage caused by bed-mounted tie downs:

Lets Not With All That

FastGun Turnbuckles Torklift’s quick-disconnect FastGun truck camper turnbuckles are the No. 1 selling turnbuckle and adjust to connect either bed or the frame-mounted tie downs to your Lance Camper. To protect the tie down system and Lance truck camper anchor points, the spring-loaded design ensures a safe ride for your family and camper. Tension indicators determine perfect tension to hold down truck camper while in use. The FastGuns provide easy tool-free adjustment and install within just four minutes – how long does it take you to secure your camper?

StableLoad Suspension Stabilizer As one of the best suspension mods that stabilizes and improves truck suspension for hauling a Lance camper, StableLoads pre-activate your vehicle’s factory overload springs. By pre-loading the overload leaf springs, the stabilizing effects built into the leaf springs by the original vehicle engineers kick into gear, the way it was initially designed. When activated, there’s a drastic reduction in body roll, side-to-side sway and porpoising that’s common when hauling a camper. The innovative design of StableLoads prevents these common vehicle handling effects, making it the best truck camper and towing suspension upgrade available.

StableLoads

We had folks at a Lance Camper rally take the StableLoad Challenge. All attendees either own a Lance truck camper or Lance travel trailer and are familiar with how their truck performs when they tow or haul.

Here’s what happened when they tried the StableLoad suspension stabilizer:

How Much is a Lance Travel Trailer? Full Cost Breakdown

Lance 1575 Travel Trailer

Lance travel trailers are known for their best-in-class quality, premium features, lightweight design, and four-season capability.

Which is why they’re often the go-to choice for RVers looking for a premium lightweight camper.

If you’re thinking about buying a Lance travel trailer though, you’re probably wondering what they cost .

Lance travel trailer costs anywhere from $45,000 to $78,000, depending on the model, features, and options.

With smaller Lance travel trailers, such as the Lance 1475 and Lance 1575 costing less than $50,000, and larger Lance travel trailers, such as the Lance 2445 and Lance 2465 costing over $70,000.

If you want to know what a particular model costs though or want to see how the Lance price compares to other lightweight campers, make sure to keep reading.

As we provide the average price for every Lance model below as well as compare its price to other lightweight travel trailers.

Lance 1985 Travel Trailer

Lance Travel Trailer (Least to Most Expensive Model)

One of the biggest factors that can affect the cost of the Lance travel trailer is its model.

As there are currently 11 different models  available, w hich affect everything from its length and weight to its floorplan and features.

Lance Travel Trailer Price Compared to Other Lightweight Campers

Due to Lances, higher build quality, and premium features, it should come as no surprise that Lance travel trailers tend to fall on the more expensive side when it comes to lightweight campers.

As you can see from the below table, which places some of the most popular Lance models next to other high-end lightweight campers in price.

Such as the Airstream Bambi and the Grand Design Imagine.

Lightweight Travel Trailers (Least to Most Expensive)

Popular options that add additional cost to the lance travel trailer.

The model number isn’t the only thing that affects the cost of a Lance travel trailer though, as its price can also be impacted by how the trailer is optioned out.

Because while all Lance travel trailers come very well-equipped, there are some additional options and upgrades that can be added to the trailer to further enhance its capabilities and comfort, which in turn increases its price.

However, it’s important to point out that when RV dealers order inventory for their lot, they will often option the trailer with many of the below popular options at no additional cost to the end buyer.

All-Weather Package

One of the most popular upgrades for the Lance travel trailer is Lance’s All-Weather Package , which adds heated holding tanks, insulated hatch covers, a water heater bypass, and a winterization valve, to the already standard dual-pane windows and advanced ducted heating,

Allowing you to camp year-round in your Lance travel trailer, regardless of the temperature outside.

Power Awning with LED Lighting

Lance Power Awning

Another super popular option for the Lance travel trailer is the power awning with LED lighting, which ranges in length from 12 feet to 16 feet 6 inches, depending on the model .

In fact, it’s so popular that it’s hard to find a Lance camper without one.

Especially if you’re purchasing the trailer from an RV lot, as it’s extremely rare for an RV dealer to order a Lance without an awning.

Solar Panel or Second Solar Panel

Solar power is really starting to take hold in the RV industry.

With many RV manufacturers starting to provide small solar packages standard on their travel trailers.

And while there is no standard solar package on Lance travel trailers, beyond a solar port, you can option the trailer with either one or two 190-watt solar panels .

Which will provide plenty of off-grid power, while you’re boondocking or not connected to shore power.

Awning Slide Out Covers

Awning Slide Out Covers

Awning slide-out covers make a great addition to any travel trailer.

As they help to protect the top of the slide-out from debris and falling branches and help to prevent damage.

As the awning covers extend over the slide-out, which prevents leaves, branches, and bird droppings from accumulating on the slide.

In addition, awning slide-out covers also help to prevent water, snow, and ice build-up on the slide, which can eventually cause water damage.

An upgrade that’s a must if you’re planning on doing a lot of boondocking and off-grid camping is the optional 1500-watt inverter.

As the inverter allows you to convert your DC battery power to AC power, while off-grid and boondocking.

Allowing you to run conventional appliances such as hair dryers, toasters, and coffee makers from battery power.

Dual Lithium-Ion Batteries

Speaking of battery power, you can also option the Lance travel trailer with dual lithium-ion batteries.

Which is the best battery power currently available for RVs.

As lithium-ion batteries offer several key upgrades over standard lead-acid batteries, including more usable capacity, longer life, faster charging, lighter weight, and more temperature tolerance.

Electric Tongue Jack

Electric Tongue Jack

An electric tongue jack is another great addition to any travel trailer, as it gets rid of the old manual tongue jack and replaces it with an electric version.

Allowing you to easily raise or lower the tongue of the trailer with the simple push of a button, instead of having to manually crack it up and down.

Electric Stabilizer Jacks

Another popular option for the Lance travel trailer that makes setting up the trailer much easier and faster is electric stabilizer jacks.

As they allow you to extend the stabilizer jacks with a push of a button , instead of having to manually drop each stabilizer jack individually into place with either a hand crank or an electric drill.

Fixed Rear Ladder

An option that can make servicing and inspecting your RV roof a much easier task is a fixed rear ladder, which you can add to the Lance travel trailer as an option.

Lance Lift Kit

The final popular option for the Lance travel trailer is its optional lift kit, which adds an additional 2 and 5/8 inches of ground clearance to the trailer .

Which can make all the difference when you’re trying to access remote boondocking campsites.

As they often require you to travel over rough and pitted dirt or gravel roads.

Most Popular Lance Travel Trailer Models

Lance currently makes 11 different models of their travel trailer that offers various floorplans, lengths, and weights.

However, as is the case with all travel trailer lineups, there are always some models that are just more popular than others, as they check more boxes for a wider group of campers.

So to save you some time in figuring out which models are the best and most popular, we’ve highlighted the five most popular Lance travel trailers below.

Lance 1475S

Quick specs.

  • Price :  $45,000
  • Length :  19 Feet 8 Inches
  • Dry Weight :  2,600Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity :  3
  • Bathroom :  Corner 3-Piece Dry Bath
  • Slide-Outs :  1

The Lance 1475 is not only one of the most popular models of the Lance but its also the shortest as well as the lightest, with a length of just under 20 feet and a dry weight of only 2,600 pounds

Making it the ideal choice for those with less capable tow vehicles, such as mid-size SUVs or compact trucks, which typically have towing capacities under 5,000 pounds.

You might have noticed though that we’ve highlighted the 1475S instead of the 1475.

Lance 1475S Floorplan

And that’s because there are actually two different versions of the Lance 1475.

Including the standard 1475 and the upgraded 1475S, which features a small slide-out, as well as a couch.

Which gives this small lightweight travel trailer more interior space as well as a three-person sleeping capacity.

For more information on the Lance 1475S, be sure to check out Lance’s website by clicking here .

  • Price :  $57,000
  • Length :  23 Feet 3 Inches
  • Dry Weight :  4,245 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity :  4
  • Bathroom :  Rear 3-Piece Dry Bath

Probably the most popular Lance model is the Lance 1985, which offers a nice blend between the smallest and largest versions of the Lance travel trailer.

As it maintains a somewhat smaller size and lighter weight for those looking for a more compact lightweight trailer, while also providing many of the benefits of the larger Lance trailers.

Such as more interior space and storage space as well a four-person sleeping capacity.

Lance 1985 Floorplan

In addition, the Lance 1985 also offers a spacious three-piece rear bath that spans the entire width of the camper.

As well as a nicely equipped kitchen that offers a two-way stainless steel 7 cubic foot fridge, a flush-mount three-burner propane cooktop, and an optional oven and convection microwave.

For more information on the Lance 1985, be sure to check out Lance’s website by clicking here .

  • Price :  $58,500
  • Length :  23 Feet 8 Inches
  • Dry Weight :  4,265 Pounds

Another popular Lance model that’s just slightly larger than the Lance 1985 from above is the Lance 1995.

Which features all the same features as the Lance 1985 but in a slightly different configuration.

Because while the Lance 1995 maintains the front walk-around bed and large u-shaped dinette booth, it offers a rear entry door instead of a mid-entry door and utilizes a corner bath as opposed to a rear bath.

Lance 1995 Floorplan

If you’re thinking why would Lance go to the trouble of making two models that are so close to one another, that’s actually a benefit of Lance trailers.

Because while many RV manufacturers wouldn’t go to the trouble of making both the 1985 and 1995 models, for such minute differences, Lance did.

As they try to make a travel trailer in every configuration possible in order to fit not only every RVers wants and needs but also their preferences.

As one RVer might prefer a mid-entry door and a rear bath while another might prefer a rear entry door and a corner bath.

For more info on the Lance 1995, check out Lance’s website by clicking here .

To see other popular 24-foot travel trailer floor plans, check out our article “ 12 Popular 24-Foot Travel Trailer Floor Plans “.
  • Price :  $65,000
  • Length :  27 Feet
  • Dry Weight :  4,930 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity :  6
  • Bathroom :  Mid 3-Piece Dry Bath

If you’re looking for more space in a Lance travel trailer, you might want to consider the Lance 2285.

As it’s seven feet longer compared to the smallest version of the Lance, with an overall length of 27 feet.

Which allows the Lance 2285 to offer not only more space inside the trailer but also more features and amenities as well.

Lance 2285 Floorplan

As the Lance 2285 provides a larger rear kitchen with more counter space, both a u-shaped dinette booth and a sofa, as well as a more private front bedroom .

Thanks to its strategically placed mid-bath and wardrobe, that provides a nice break between the living area and bedroom area of the trailer.

For more information on the Lance 2285, make sure to check out Lance’s website by clicking here .

  • Price :  $78,000
  • Length :  29 Feet 5 Inches
  • Dry Weight :  5,875 Pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity :  5
  • Slide-Outs :  2

If you’re looking for the ultimate in space and comfort in a Lance travel trailer, then you need to look no further than the Lance 2465.

As its Lance’s ultra-light flagship model as well as the largest and most well-equipped travel trailer that they make.

Lance 2465 Floorplan

Offering more features and amenities than any other Lance travel trailer, with features such as two separate side-outs, a private rear bedroom, a king-size east-to-west bed, a spacious well-equipped kitchen, and both a u-shaped dinette booth and a huge comfy J-lounge.

Which makes the Lance 2465 perfect for entertaining and hanging out.

But the features and amenities don’t stop there, as the Lance 2465 also features a super-sized front star gazing window, a 40-inch LED TV mounted on a motorized lift, LED mood lighting, an exterior wash station, and a huge 16-foot 6-inch power awning with LED lighting.

For more info on the Lance 2465, check out Lance’s website by clicking here .
