Excellent customer service

I’ve never used Crystal before and was a little nervous as it’s an American number and contact. The process was a little confusing regarding baggage and seat reservations so I started a live chat to clarify. They replied quickly and I soon got a call from a very friendly and helpful member of staff called Nathan Willson. He talked me through it all and helped me sort. I’d recommend, the service is very good.

Added over $50 to the price of a checked bag

I was booking a Spirit flight through Google Flights with Crystal Travel and they added more than $50 to the price of a checked bag. I discovered this when, after jumping through all the hoops to book a flight, I was told it was no longer available. I then went direct to Spirit to find they were charging $31 for a checked bag, not the $89 that Crystal Travel were trying to charge me.

Flight cancelled by Airline

I booked my flights in October 2023 to fly on Tuesday 30/04/24due to the excellent price being offered. Staff were extremely helpful to my needs and explained everything i needed to do.Checked and booked seats and meals on the airlines website. When i checked my booking on Saturday 27/0424 the outbound flight had been cancelled i contacted Crystal Travel and spoke with Carolina Diaz who looked into why my booking had been cancelled. Cancellation was due to airline scheduling change. Carolina Diaz contacted the airline and had my flight re instated, crisis resolved by a very professional and considerate employee of Crystal Travel, thank you and i will undoubtably choose Crystal Travel again when booking flights.

I had problems with making my payments

I had problems with making my payments. Nick was able to help me and confirm my payments had gone through. He was polite, patient and helpful all the way throughout our call. He even managed to book our seats for a flight in December for less than previously quoted.

Crystal Clear Travel Services.

Rebecca and Nick were both very helpful during my booking process. Having used Crystal Travel multiple times in the past, I will say they usually come out high on my list for affordable and reliably managed multi-stop long haul flights. While I have had cancellations while in country before, this is to be expected as just a matter of poor luck when flying very frequently, and Crystal Travel have always found alternate flights when requested without delay.

Before someone pipes up, yes we are to blame as we wanted seats without paying over the odds. But at the time Crystal Travel had the seats on the perfect days at a good prices, others were cheaper but as we had used them once before we trusted they would be OK.

After booking with Crystal Travel we contacted our airline direct who issued us the e-ticket. So we didn't think there could be a problem. We had our tickets and were looking forward to our trip. How silly do we feel now.

We were to fly to Bangkok tomorrow on a 2 week holiday, late last night we had a call from Crystal Travel saying that the Airline (Qatar) had cancelled our seats but they could book us onto another better airline (aeroflot) we didn't want to fly with Aeroflot and there would be an extra charge for this anyway. As it was late at night we couldn't contact the airline in the UK. So we called the US where we were told that Crystal Travel had requested a refund for our seats. It seems that as they were our agents they could do this without our consent and now the flight had no seats for us.

As you can imagine we were/are devastated and many heated phones calls through the night and all today proceed the news. It seems Crystal Travel have done this many many times over the years and this time have left at least a dozen in the same situation with Qatar airlines just today. Qatar although very helpful said our contract was with the agent not them there was nothing they could do for us and at this late stage there were next to no seats left.

We were forced to pay almost double for new tickets this time direct with the airline . We are lucky we were able to do this I'm sure others may not have been able to.

We have been told by Crystal Travel that they would refund us and we have been in contact with our card issuer who said we are covered BUT THAT ISN'T THE POINT.

We have just paid more for flights than I have ever paid in my life just so we don't lose our dream holiday.

There is something to be said for booking with one of the big name travel agents. You may pay a little more but you will be able to sleep at night. Crystal Travel are liars, cheats and some of the rudest people we have ever had to deal with. Don't be fooled by their UK number and address to are based overseas.

We have taken legal advice and have been told we have a case for breach of contract and will be taking it further.

Crystal Travel also seem to fix reviews as you always see amazing reviews just after really bad ones. DON'T BE FOOLED like us.

I have already made a mistake without reading the reviews about these crooks.

They have taken money and keep saying that my booking is confirmed and my ticket will be sent to me in few hours. I haven't received my ticket yet and I am keep chasing them every day.

Please do not use this travel service at all.

Crystal Travel had a deal being offered on Wowcher. I messaged them on Facebook to ask for available dates and got an abrupt message back demanding contact details. Gave my email address, received nothing. Chased up 4 days later and was told that dates were now on the wowcher site. Found a suitable one and messaged the company back to confirm it was definitely available before ordering. The reason for this was coming across numbers poor reviews of this company where people have paid and then been told they need to either pay more for an upgrade, or Crystal Travel have cancelled on them, and made it lengthy to get a refund. There was no reply to my email. Chased again, and was asked for my contact details again...! Terrible company, needless to say I won't be booking with them. A look on TrustPilot and Facebook reviews is also interesting as they have many 5 star reviews from accounts that have only ever left one review (I always find this suspicious). On Facebook there are many poor reviews of Crystal all with the same experiences as mine... My advice is to avoid them.

Crystal declined my booking and then offered, on the phone, a ticket £100 more expensive. I see now that this is their usual tactic. While on the phone, they sent through an email containing the new price, and asked me to accept. As this was still cheaper than any of the other flights I saw on Kayak, I accepted.

I've just received an email from Crystal claiming to contain 'e-tickets'. The email makes no mention of any prices. No money has yet left my account, although I expect it will today. Confusingly, the email also includes a confirmation for car hire , costing £90, which I don't need.

When I go to the webpage for my airline , American Airlines, it's clear that I am indeed booked onto the right flights . This doesn't make me feel very relieved, though, as I've now read, in this thread, about Crystal operating a 'bait and switch' scam.

I don't know what to do. More to the point, I don't know what I *can* do -- probably nothing.

I expect I've learned the hard way not to use third parties like Crystal, so I don't really need lots of replies telling me how stupid I am! Does anyone have any more helpful advice? Should I expect Crystal to suddenly cancel my AA flights ? Are they going to be able to get more money out of me for the 'car hire'...?

What can you do? At this point, I wouldn't do anything. Wait and see what happens next.

Some travel organisers have access to discounted net fares which can not be shown or sold just as the air fare but instead have to be 'package' with another holiday element such as a hotel or in your case perhaps car rental . By packaging this up as a flight plus other component they can access and sell the lower flight cost. They won't be able to breakdown the cost of the two elements and may even show this on your paperwork as a fly-drive arrangement.

Presumably the total cost, including the £90 for the car rental , is lower that the fare you found on the airline site.

You don't need to collect the rental car by the way. Just use the air seat that you wanted.

Once you have the AA PNR locator then access your flight booking via the AA website. Check all well, select seats etc. Best to also keep a regular check on your reservation on the airline site to make sure no schedule changes are made.

I'm amazed at how many people are still getting fooled by these guys especially when they have been reported to trading standards so many times. Why doesn't someone shut them down.

I must apologize for my ignorance -- I really don't fly very often and am pretty confused about how all of this works. No-one has issued me with e-tickets (the email from Crystal, with the subject line "etkts" doesn't look like the kind of thing I could present at the airport). But I can log into the AA site, where my flights are listed as ticketed, and where I've been able to book seats.

Flight cancelled by Airline

I booked my flights in October 2023 to fly on Tuesday 30/04/24due to the excellent price being offered. Staff were extremely helpful to my needs and explained everything i needed to do.Checked and booked seats and meals on the airlines website. When i checked my booking on Saturday 27/0424 the outbound flight had been cancelled i contacted Crystal Travel and spoke with Carolina Diaz who looked into why my booking had been cancelled. Cancellation was due to airline scheduling change. Carolina Diaz contacted the airline and had my flight re instated, crisis resolved by a very professional and considerate employee of Crystal Travel, thank you and i will undoubtably choose Crystal Travel again when booking flights.

I had problems with making my payments

I had problems with making my payments. Nick was able to help me and confirm my payments had gone through. He was polite, patient and helpful all the way throughout our call. He even managed to book our seats for a flight in December for less than previously quoted.

Spoke to Jose about booking accommodation in Dubai he was extremely helpful and professional he was very reassuring with all my concerns he went out of his way to get me all the information I required. He kept me updated all throughout the booking stage.would definitely book through Jose again.

Crystal Clear Travel Services.

Rebecca and Nick were both very helpful during my booking process. Having used Crystal Travel multiple times in the past, I will say they usually come out high on my list for affordable and reliably managed multi-stop long haul flights. Our Personal Experience

My husband and I had been saving all year for an Alaskan adventure trip, and we found the perfect deal on two hotels from Crystal Travel. We booked our rooms and were all set. Unfortunately, a massive snowstorm delayed our flights the night we were supposed to land in Anchorage. We needed to cancel our first night at our hotel, so we tried customer support on Crystal Travel, which surprised me. The staff was incredibly efficient, immediately changed our arrangements, and was so friendly to talk with. I have to admit, I was fairly uptight about the whole ordeal. The ease with which they handled everything was just what we needed at that moment. We ended up having the trip of our lives out there, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. We highly recommend everyone tries to make it out into the beautiful Alaskan wilderness at least once in their lifetime. The other place we used to booked hotels with was Super Travel , and they’re good too but don’t offer flights.

I booked a flight with them to Accra, Ghana. The team was very helpful. I had good customer service. I will use them again.

Booked plane tickets to Thailand. Or so I thought. Went through the process within couple of minutes and then they told me there were no seats left at the price. Someone calls and tells you that you can book at a totally different price, of course it's a higher price than it was advertised on the website. I smell the scam when I see it. It was my first attempt to use this website and the last one. Never again! Scammers!

I took a chance on a discount ticket to visit friends. I just happened to check my flight about a week before the trip, only to find out that the flight had been cancelled. I contacted the airline, and they told me they would refund Crystal Travel, and that I would have to contact them. So far I have not heard back from Crystal, I had to buy a last minute (expensive) ticket, and have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Le$$on learned.

I made a reservation for a Kuala Lumpur-NYC via Doha trip on 5 June via Crystal Travel. I walked in the Kuala Lumpur airport that day only to find that my first flight had been cancelled, which I had never been made aware of. I called Crystal Travel's customer service number in order to ask them to book me on a new flight asap, but no one picked up. I wrote an email titled "URGENT" and am still to get an answer to this day. I got my problem resolved by the airline themselves (Qatar Airways), they booked me on a new pair of flights operated by other airlines that left later that day - the airline said that my initial flights had long been cancelled and Crystal Travel had been made aware of that and had to forward me the info (which the airline could not do themselves because Crystal Travel had not entered my email address in the form they provided the airline), which they never did. Unprofessional. This was the first time I booked with Crystal Travel and it will be the last.
