Excellent Tripod in every way -- but thread-lock the rubber feet!

This tripod is a joy to use. It is large and substantial enough to offer a stable platform and light enough to carry around. This is not a small little travel tripod, but rather a light full size tripod. The build quality is excellent and the head is a joy to use. Worth every penny. I think that a quality tripod is perhaps as important as a quality camera to get high quality long exposure night photographs -- and this tripod worked flawlessly in horrible weather conditions. It is wonde ... rfully stiff and holds up well in windy conditions. My only piece of advice to buyers is to put thread-lock on the rubber feet and lock them into place BEFORE you lose them on a trip. It is not of question of if, but rather, when they fall off and you lose one. No big deal -- I ordered replacements (which were not available at Adorama according to the manufacturer -- but maybe Adorama could change that?) Buy this tripod without hesitation. You will love it. Oh, it also comes with a wooden handle to put on the mono-pod to turn it into a cane, which really cracked me up. May come in handy at my advancing age.

The Travel angel 9X carbon fiber series 2 with twist lock legs and V1 ball head exceeded my expectations. This tripod is so light and packable. I love the quick release for my spotting scope. I can pop it on and off within a few seconds and be on my way. I researched quite a few brands of tripods and compared them to each other and also to my friend's Gitzo and was pleasantly surprised that they were virtually identical and 1/3rd the price. The V1 ball head is fantastic! I'm glad I spent the ... extra few dollars for the V1. I love the adjustments and the ease of using it. Well done Benro!!!!

The FTA19CV0 comes equipped with a triple action ball head with separate controls for pan lock, drag and ball lock and is able to support up to 8kg of gear.

Description

This tripod from the Travel Angel Series 1 will allow you to support up to 8kg. This compact tripod features reverse-folding legs which enable it to fold down to 38.86cm which makes it the ideal companion for travelling. When the 5 section twist-lock legs are fully extended, the FTA19CV0 reaches a maximum height of 149.5cm. Also, one of the legs of the tripod can be fully removed and connected to the centre column to create a monopod.

The legs are made from 9-layer carbon fibre and weighs in at just 1.45kg.  Rubber feet and stainless steel spikes let you use the tripod on a variety of surfaces such as grass, ice, or wooden and tile floors. The rapid centre column has a hook on the bottom so you can attach weights for more stabilisation.

A V0E Ball Head is included with this Travel Angel Tripod Kit. It features seperate pan and ball locks and an Arca-type compatible clamp with a quick-release plate. A 90º notch allows you to quickly change your camera to portrait and an integrated buble level helps maintain alignment. The base of the head connects to the tripod via the 3/8"-16 thread and the included plate provides a 1/4"-20 camera mount.

One of the main distinguishing features of the Peterhof fountains is the original arrangement of a conduit. Unlike Versailles, this grandiose construction works without pumps and other water-pressure facilities. Water is supplied from numerous natural and artificial ponds, nourished by underground sources and springs.

The Grand cascade

At first, Peter I had planned the ponds of the Upper garden to be the water source for the Grand cascade and its fountains, but soon the tireless ruler, who personally investigated the area, found additional sources of water, which situated in the neighborhood of the future Peterhof Park. The nature of the terrain enabled the creation of a system of conduits, in which the water flowed by gravity from dozens of ponds, located above the Lower Park and the Upper garden.

Thus, all 4 cascades, and 191 Peterhof fountains (including the Grand cascade water cannons) are fed by ponds of Ropshinsky hills (which are located at a distance of 24 kilometres), as well as English, Meadow, Olgin and other ponds (18 ponds overall) and many streams and sources. All of these sources combine into a complex system of sluices and canals with total length of 40 kilometers. The most surprising fact is that the system of water pipelines constructed by the order of Peter I and with his personal participation operates to this day.

This gilded splendor includes 255 sculptures, bas reliefs and other architectural structures, as well as 64 fountains with 138 water jets soaring skyward. The focus of the entire composition is the famous gilded “Samson tearing the lion’s mouth”, and in the center of the cascade there is a Lower grotto with a viewing point decorated with golden sculptures and marble bas-reliefs.

Another cascade fountain, named Checkerboard hill, looks like a bright spot on green background. 20-meter speed checker board with two mysterious caves that are guarded by three dragons is sometimes also called the Cascade of dragons. On both sides of the construction there are staircases, decorated with sculptures of white marble. At the beginning of the World War II, the sculptures had been removed and hidden, while the cascade itself was completely destroyed by the Nazis.

The “Favorite” fountain

Like many years ago, the moving fountains are extremely popular among the visitors of Peterhof Park. These include the “Favorite” fountain, created in 1725. It depicts quacking ducks floating in a circle, and a little dog that unsuccessfully tries to catch them. It is a good sign if you lucky enough to throw your coin right at the duck’s back and if the coin remains there. So despite its modest size, park staff daily extracts a lot more coins from the “Favoirte” than from any other Peterhof fountain.
