Suicide Silence + Whitechapel Announce U.S. Tour With Despised Icon, Carnifex + Oceano [Update]
Tour dates have been added since the initial announcement. The dates below represent the full tour itinerary.
Get ready for 2016’s most chug-tastic tour. Suicide Silence and Whitechapel will co-headline a U.S. tour this fall with Despised Icon, Carnifex and Oceano as support.
The ‘Straight Outta Hell’ tour will be a month-long trek beginning in late September and carrying on until late October. Whitechapel are currently making the run on Warped Tour, so it seems like after a short break, the band will return to the road with some of deathcore’s finest.
Whitechapel recently released their sixth full-length album, Mark of the Blade . "At this point in our career and as we grow older, we are taking a more open-minded approach to creating our music, allowing what we think sounds good to evolve naturally, rather than to just write what is expected of us,” says guitarist Alex Wade.
Despised Icon write, “America, we're happy to announce that we'll be playing select dates this fall with a few old friends.” Carnifex also shared their excitement: “STRAIGHT OUTTA HELL This is once in a lifetime. The bands that built a genre. See you in the fall.”
For deathcore fans, this is definitely a bill you can’t miss. Stay tuned for the full list of tour dates coming soon!
Update: The first batch of dates for the tour have been revealed and can be seen below. As you can see, Despised Icon will be on board for only select dates, while Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Oceano and Carnfiex will play all dates.

Album Review: Suicide Silence – Become The Hunter
Suicide Silence come back swinging with Become The Hunter
Those wishing for California deathcore titans Suicide Silence to get it together and return to their more familiar brand of brutality after their frankly terrible 2017 self-titled album are in luck. That album didn’t so much broaden their sound as abandon it entirely in favour of sloppy nu-metal, to the point that fans petitioned online for it not to be released.
Become The Hunter is a firm return to their roots, resurrecting the classic sound of 2014’s You Can’t Stop Me, and it does so with style. Quiet moments are sparse, but the processed guitar on the verses of Skin Tight is stirringly moody, though it’s the rapid-fire machine gun bursts of In Hiding and Death’s Anxiety that really leave an impression.
With all the clean vocals expunged, Eddie Hermida unleashes a powerful array of screams, screeches, grunts and bellows, all the perfect accompaniment to the aural violence. You have to question their integrity a little bit, but this is definitively state-of-the-art deathcore.
Verdict: 3/5

Hear Suicide Silence's New Ripper "Thinking in Tongues"
Fresh off the news that the band had split with longtime drummer Alex Lopez, Suicide Silence have unleashed a raging new single, "Thinking in Tongues." The song, which marks the deathcore veterans' final recording with Lopez, is available today (May 4th) on all digital platforms, and its music video, directed by Vicente Cordero for Industrialism Films, will premiere at 7 p.m. CET/1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
"Thinking in Tongues" arrives ahead of the May 6th launch of Suicide Silence's co-headlining Chaos & Carnage Tour with Carnifex. Ernie Iniguez, who recorded additional drums on the band's latest album, 2020's Become the Hunter , will fill-in live on the trek.
"This song derives from the chaotic feeling of losing one's mind," Suicide Silence commented of "Thinking in Tongues." "Feeling like you're choking on every breath you take until you eventually break. Debilitating confusion sets in and your mind begins 'Thinking in Tongues,' essentially processing thoughts that not even you yourself can understand. In a sense, this song evokes the ultimate sense of helplessness."

Suicide Silence is an American death core band that hail from Riverside in California, USA. They formed in 2002 and have since released four full length studio albums.
The group currently consist of five members: lead vocalist Hernan "Eddie" Hermida, guitarists Chris Garza and Mark Heylmun, bassist Dan Kenny and drummer Alex Lopez. Many of the members were already working on separate projects at the time of formation, but these were eventually dropped as they chose to focus on Suicide Silence, realising the enormous potential of the band.
Indeed, the band has enjoyed success, gaining the praise of many musical heavy weights and receiving favourable reviews. In 2009 they were awarded the Revolver Golden God award. The have been compared to and associated with a number of great artists throughout their reign, some of which include All Shall Perish, Light This City, Animosity and The Funeral Pyre.
In 2008 they signed with Century Media and released their debut full length album ‘The Cleansing’. It sold 7250 copies in its first week alone and became the most successful selling debut album the record label had ever produced. The success of their album led to a world tour which culminated in the band gaining a large fan base worldwide. Their second album, ‘No Time to Bleed’ was even more successful than the first and sold double the amount of copies in its first week than their debut.
Some of the bands biggest hits include ‘You Only Live Once’, ‘No Pity for a Coward’, ‘Disengage’ and ‘Wake up’.
Live reviews
Suicide Silence has been killing it since 2002. Suicide Silence have had to deal with the loss of their vocalist Mitch Lucker who passed away in a tragic motorbike accident which devastated the fans including me. I took the loss of Mitch really hard, it was like a part of me died with him. He was and still is my saving grace a long with many inspiring people. A lot of people thought that this was the end of Suicide Silence but they managed to rise from the blow. They produced a kick ass record with their new vocalist Eddie Hermida. The new record 'You Can't Stop Us' blew my mind, it was beyond phenomenal. Suicide Silence has probably one of the best relationships with us fans. We've stuck together through thick and thin. They have given us hope when we had none, they have shown us the way when all was lost. Words cannot describe the love I have for this band, I can never repay what they have done for me. Suicide Silence has become a part of who I am. Suicide Silence speak and connect to their fans in more ways than one.
Suicide Silence can announce a show, the same day that it is and fans would go out of their way to be there. Previous vocalist Mitch Lucker lived by the motto, "You only live once so go fucking nuts right?" and has passed that down to the fans. Everyone eventually loves Suicide Silence, no matter their opinion in the start. Their music is like a drug and I just can't get enough. Mitch Lucker was also famous for his signature move, The Lucker Stomp.

For any band, the death of the lead singer would be devastating, destabilising event, one that would, nine times out of ten, force the demise of the group. Where California deathcore outfit Suicide Silence are concerned, though, the relative brevity of their career - the fact that they were barely just starting out when frontman Mitch Lucker died in a motorcycle accident - should really have spelled the end of their short career. After taking a year away to take stock of the situation, they returned towards the end of 2013 with a new lead singer, Hernan Hermida of All Shall Perish. As a tribute to Lucker, the band released Ending Is the Beginning: The Mitch Lucker Memorial Show as a live album and DVD in early 2014. They went on to return to the European festival circuit, with Hermida proving a similarly energetic presence to Lucker onstage, as the band played choice cuts from their three studio albums as well as previewing a couple of tracks from their then-forthcoming fourth record. After a standout set at Germany’s huge Rock am Ring festival truly announced their return to the live stage, the band have announced eight UK live dates for November, with new album You Can’t Stop Me having just dropped to excellent reviews.
Despite the almost two years of heart wrenching pain, these guys are still going strong after losing the incredibly talented vocals of Mitch Lucker. I had the honor of seeing them while Mitch was still alive and have seen them since with Eddie Hermida. Despite the fact that they are not the same man, Eddie is the only person who pails in comparison to Mitch and the members were very smart and lucky to be blessed with such an incredible vocalist. Along with everything that has happened including fans who are for some reason angry that they got a new vocalist and continued making music, these guys are keeping a somewhat original tone that they had with Mitch, yet still newer elements so Eddie is comfortable and they don't have one thought of walking on Mitch's grave. The members will still do things dedicated to Mitch despite the amount of time that has passed since his passing, I definitely recommend anyone who likes them to see or meet them at any given chance.
I was thrilled to be a part of this excellent experience! As part of the VIP package, I was able to meet all of the band, enjoy meeting other fans, and have a taco blast!
The performance that Suicide Silence puts on is close to spectacular, exuding their love of music and engaging the audience to become a greater part of it.
Guys, you rock! I look forward to seeing you again very soon!!!
Suicide Silence was amazing fantastic and being followed up with Korn was amazing. Korn put on a fantastic 20th anniversary show, they brought the house down, all the bands did a fantastic job couldn't ask for a better show.
