About The 1975
The 1975 are an English pop rock band formed in 2002 in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Now based in Manchester, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew "Matty" Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel.
The band's origins are traced to their attendance at Wilmslow High School and playing together as teenagers. Gigs, organised by a council worker, led the band to sign with Dirty Hit and Polydor Records. The band opened for several major acts and released a series of extended plays (Facedown, Sex, Music for Cars, IV) throughout 2012 before releasing their UK chart-topping self-titled debut album (2013), which included the popular singles "Sex", "Chocolate", and "Robbers".
Their second album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It (2016), reached No. 1 in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Following the touring cycle for the record, the band announced their third album under the working title of Music for Cars, before going on hiatus again throughout 2017.
Returning in 2018, the band announced that the album had evolved into their third campaign cycle, consisting of their third and fourth studio albums. The first, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships (2018), was released to widespread critical acclaim,[8] and became their third No. 1 album in the UK. The second, Notes on a Conditional Form, was released in May 2020 and became their fourth consecutive No. 1 album in the UK.
The band's fifth studio album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language, became their fifth consecutive No. 1 album in the UK on its release on Friday 21st October 2022. The album's fifth track, Oh Caroline, debuted at No. 29 in the singles chart, with the singles I'm In Love With You at No. 34 and Happiness at No. 49. The album received widespread critical acclaim: Maura Johnston wrote in Rolling Stone that the band had "reassert[ed] themselves at the forefront of 2020s pop-rock."
The 1975 has garnered acclaim for their relevant lyricism and exploration of an eclectic range of genres such as pop rock, synth-pop, R&B, electropop, new wave forms of electronic music (such as UK garage, 2-step and ambient), and forms of rock music (such as shoegaze, post-punk and post-rock), as well as elements of jazz, soul and gospel.

The 1975 announce 39-date North American tour
The massive still...at their very best tour features shows across the u.s. and canada, beginning in september of this year..
The 1975 have announced a behemoth run of shows in the U.S. and Canada slated for this fall. The band's Still...at their very best tour kicks off on September 26 at Sacramento's Golden 1 Center, and will wrap up almost three whole months later at Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena. In celebration, they've also released Episode 4 of their absurdist video series "A Theatrical Performance Of An Intimate Moment."
Still...at their very best is a continuation of the 1975's ongoing At Their Very Best tour, which has been marked by near-constant online discourse, mostly thanks to the antics of frontman Matty Healy. These include eating raw meat on stage, making out with fans, cameramen, and security guards, and — oh, yeah — dating Taylor Swift . These new shows promise an expanded production, but what that means is still anyone's guess.

In other The 1975 news, Healy recently responded to Noel Gallagher’s comments about him at a 1975 show in Dublin last week (June 7).
“Noel Gallagher called me a ‘slack-jawed fuckwit’… I love Noel Gallagher. We asked Liam to open up and he said he would have done it but he was busy,” he told the crowd.
“But I love Noel Gallagher… He’s just getting on,” he added. “The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews. But we love you Noel. Get Oasis back together!”
At the show, Healy also acted as the support slot for his own band, after Caroline Polachek pulled out at the last minute due to losing her voice .
In his stripped-back solo set, he performed covers of ‘I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You’ by Colin Hay, and Donny Hathaway’s ‘A Song For You’, which was performed alongside touring guitarist Jamie Squire. He also performed the live debut of their song ‘Then Because She Goes’ .

Press Review: Led Zeppelin Metal Destroys Indianapolis
Indy will never be the same. The metal munchers, Led Zeppelin, saturated Market Square Arena’s 17,000 plus crowd last Saturday night with high-powered music and vocals.
It’s been 18 months since this supreme band of raunch has toured. Leader Jimmy Page’s searing lead guitar and hairy-chested Robert Plant’s wailing voice dominated.
Led Zeppelin’s tour is pushing a new album, Physical Graffiti, which will be released in early February by their own label, Swan Song.
At times, Robert Plant showed the vocal fatigue brought on by a touch of the flu. His usual high-pitched voice has steady, but obviously lower. Nothing though could slow down Plant’s St. Vitrus prance.
Arriving at 8:30 pm from Chicago, the group barely had time to catch their breaths before hitting the stage. Among other backstage memories, the sight of little Jimmy Page sucking back on a quart of Jack Daniels black label whiskey stands out.
Security was tight. Even the five or six silk-clad groupies had a difficult time getting close to their favorite band member.
Three black limousines poised backstage for a quick exit. A driver said the limos’ rent starts at $45 for starting the engine, with a maximum of three hours. After that, the cost is $15 per hour.
With the crowd in a near frenzy, the lights dimmed and the Led Zep quartet bolted for the stage. One notices little things. The lads were holed up in the locker room for visiting hockey teams. Visions of pep talks, psyching up, etc.
What followed was two and-a-half hours of sheer volcanic intensity. With Page switching back and forth from a double-necked guitar to a regular guitar, Led Zeppelin proved that heavy metal leaves no one in the middle ground. Either you love it or flee in terror.
The lads played a few songs from the new album. “In The Light” may turn into an international sensation.
No Quarter from Houses of the Holy, gave straight-looking John Paul Jones a chance to deliver on the keyboards. He was flawless. Even through the tons of towering speakers, Jonesy was in command.
Drummer John Bonham was a driving maniac as usual. With the help of Pink Floyd-like electronic gadgetry, Bonham excelled in his two drum solos. Although a bit self-indulgent, the solos didn’t slow the group’s momentum.
Among songs performed were Whole Lotta Love as the encore, and the classic Stairway to Heaven. The good crowd turnout may entice other major groups to a rock-hungry Indianapolis. (R. Scott/Indianapolis Star/January 1975)
