Ensures we have special assistance booked, a ground floor room etc and will happily make as many calls as necessary in advance to ensure we have everything we need. A friendly and warm welcome from agent

We received a friendly and warm welcome from travel advisor, Helen Maclean who was helpful and knowledgeable. She arranged our travel and hotel via Jet 2 Indulgent Holidays. She was also helpful when we made an amended to our holiday arrangements a day later, still with Jet 2 Indulgent Holidays. Jet 2 charged £200 for this change, which I think excessive, but apparently outwith the agent's control. Given that the holiday is not for 6 months, I find it to be excessive. This is our second holiday arranged by Barrhead Travel and with the same agent, Helen Maclean.to whom we would return with confidence.

Why do I keep going to Barrhead Travel Darlington because you get excellent service and best advice. All the staff are friendly happy smiley people it's pure joy to walk through the door. I booked another cruise with Ambassador Cruise lines out of Newcastle no travelling to Southampton Debbie the cruise agent I see mostly sorted out a better price for me which helps me a lot so why go anywhere else. Booking flights to Germany

We had very prompt service and there were plenty of staff at the branch to accommodate the clients. The young lady was very helpful and looked for different options for us if they didn't quite suit us. She was very polite and friendly. I would highly recommend Barrhead Travel.

Great help with my trip. Nothing was to much bother. Gave me several travel options as I was just needing flights. Explained in detail the cost even got a paper print out as technology frustrates me. That's why I keep going back

From the moment we entered Barrhead Travel the consultant was friendly and not at all pushy about our proposed travel plans. We can't fault the service

We got everything and more than we asked for, we were giving a lot of information when we asked questions which was a great help. We went into the shop to get a quote but the lady gave us so much information and was able to answer all our questions we were happy to book that day.

Booked no problems.…

Telephoned Barrhead for a price for holiday in August, got price (very good) and decided to book the following day or so. Good conversations with various girls and all completed without any bother.

Went on today Jan 18th to book a holiday for 4 people. Woman was rude, unhelpful and customer service was shocking. She basically told us to go away and book ourselves online. She was extremely abrupt then told us her customer had came in told us to go to another desk. We left with no helpful information and no holiday booked. I wont set foot on the place again. Terrible service

At last on our way to Jamaica booked with Barrhead travel East Kilbride and that's where we went wrong. Firstly they were all over you to book once booked that's where it ends. They sold us a cruise and when we got our ticket information the wrong destinations then we were told to book our seats on the wrong date so when we went to book them the ones we wanted were all gone. Having made a complaint to the manager this was swept aside her staff could never make these mistakes until we produced written evidence in the member of staff a own handwriting still brushed away. Finally we wrote to customer service and yep again nothing. Absolute shambles would never use this branch or company again. Good luck to anyone who does.

All holidays booked so far have proved excellent buys. Staff are always most helpful and professional. Nothing to complain about. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

The customer service is fantastic, book with them all the time, Hugh is especially good, and so helpful.

If you go here ask for Hugh he is brilliant his customer service is outstanding and he knows what he is doing nothing is to much trouble. He was the only reason I booked found him to be honest , knowledgeable and patient. would have no hesitation in booking with him again.

The Rail, Maritime and Transport union said it had successfully retained the guard and all the responsibilities of the role on every train along the Barrhead and East Kilbride route.

ScotRail workers are set to strike over a disagreement concerning the role of guards.

The Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) has said that about 100 members servicing the East Kilbride and Barrhead routes will go on a series of 48-hour weekend strikes starting May 18 and continuing on May 25 and June 1.

The union voiced concerns over the roles of the conductor which include dispatch, opening and closing doors, and other critical safety tasks.

Members of ScotRail voiced their support for strike action with 76 per cent voting Yes in a turnout of 79 per cent.

Mick Lynch, the general secretary of RMT, said: "ScotRail members have spoken loud and clear they will not allow the employer to dilute their roles and responsibilities as guards.

"Our members play a vital safety role with dispatch of services and while the train is on the move. The Scottish Government, which has overall responsibility for ScotRail, needs to wake up to the reality that our members want to be treated as valuable assets on the railway and they will not back down until a negotiated settlement is reached."

On April 4, ScotRail was notified by the RMT National Executive Committee (NEC) that the union would ballot its conductor members based at Glasgow Central, Dumfries, Ayr, and Stranraer for industrial action, on what the union described as a dispute ‘on the role of conductors on Barrhead and East Kilbride services’.

The body insists that there has never been a proposal to make services driver only. The dispute with the RMT is over which member of staff opens and closes the doors on electric services between Glasgow to Barrhead, not over whether there should be a second member of staff on the train.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Customer Operations Director, said: “We’re extremely disappointed that RMT members have voted for industrial action that will be disruptive for our customers.

“We have been clear that our proposals mean nobody will lose their job, there will be no changes to existing terms and conditions, and colleagues will continue to work from the same depot. This is a dispute about which member of our on-train staff opens and closed train doors.

“This proposal will allow us to provide a better service to our customers.”
