Taj Mahal: The Eternal Masterpiece

Taj Mahal: The Eternal Masterpiece

The epitome of Mughal architecture, the Taj Mahal is so grand it warrants two visits – one at dawn and another at dusk, when its color looks entirely different. Opportunities to view other icons of the Mughal empire abound, as hauntingly beautiful Agra Fort and the red sandstone former capital of Fatehpur Sikri are easily within reach. An expressive kathak dance performance and a consultation with a leading astrologer shed light on the local culture, while shopping in Agra reveals the exquisite quality of Indian jewelry.

  • 2 nights in Agra | 1 night in Delhi
  • Economy-class flights to Delhi and Cochin
  • Travel in air-conditioned deluxe coaches
  • Entrance fees and camera and video charges at the Taj Mahal
  • Kathak dance performance
  • Options to visit Agra Fort; shop in Agra; and receive a private reading of your horoscope

Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal

Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal

Become immersed in the culture of Nepal, a country shaped in many ways by the snowcapped Himalayas. That backdrop looks especially dramatic while flying by iconic Mount Everest, yet the cities may be even more striking. Extraordinary stupas rise above Patan, Newari architecture graces Kathmandu and all of medieval Bhaktapur is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Unusual cultural opportunities include an audience with a Kumari living goddess, watching an Aarti prayer offering at a Hindu temple and seeing how singing bowls are used to heal by sound.

  • 3 nights in Kathmandu
  • Economy-class flights per the itinerary
  • Flightseeing over the Himalayas near Mt. Everest
  • Visits to 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites
  • An audience with a kumari living goddess in Patan
  • Camera charges at sites

Ajanta & Ellora Caves

Ajanta & Ellora Caves

Explore two UNESCO World Heritage site cave complexes, both hand-cut from solid rock to create religious sanctuaries. The 2nd-century Ajanta Caves contain arguably the world’s most important Buddhist wall paintings. The colors are still vibrant, thanks to an infra-red restoration process that removed centuries of grime. The Ellora Caves are noteworthy because their stone sanctuaries are devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, a clear illustration of ancient India’s religious tolerance. The enormous, heavily ornamented Kailasa temple there was carved from a single block of stone.

  • 3 nights in Aurangabad
  • Economy-class internal flights
  • Tours of the Ajanta and Ellorca Caves
  • Visit the Black Taj tomb
  • Watch artisans weave shawls and sarees
  • Camera charges

When is the best time to visit India?

The best time to take a cruise holiday to India depends on the region you want to explore and the specific experiences you’re seeking.

Generally, the most popular time for tourism is during the winter months, from October to March, when the weather is cooler and more pleasant in most parts of the country. This is an excellent time to visit popular destinations like Rajasthan, the Taj Mahal, and South India, as the temperatures are comfortable for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

However, if you want to experience India’s vibrant festivals, particularly Diwali and Holi, or explore the Himalayan region for trekking and adventure, the best time to visit would be during the shoulder seasons of spring (March to April) and autumn (September to November). These months offer a balance between manageable weather conditions and cultural experiences.

It’s also essential to consider factors like local holidays, festivals and peak tourist seasons. It’s always a good idea to consult with one of our cruise agents who will give you the best advice!

INDIA RIVER CRUISES

Worlds Best Cruise Line

Discover the rich culture of India's rivers

India is a world of colour and culture. The country is diverse and offers so many experiences for those wishing to find out more. Embarking on a river cruise in India allows you to see this extraordinary country in a way like you'd never imagined.

Our India cruises take place on not only the lower and upper River Ganges but soon also the Brahmaputra River Cruise.

Both of these rivers are of major importance to India, offering a place of worship as well as historically important towns and cities forming life on the banks.

The Ganges River winds 2,525km through India and across the border into Bangladesh. It begins its journey in the Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and flows through the Gangetic Plain of India and into Bangladesh before it is released into the Bay of Bengal.

The Brahmaputra is also a trans-boundary river, flowing through China, India and Bangladesh. The River enters India in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, where it is called Siang. It continues across the plains where its name changes once again to Dihang. It enters the state of Assam and becomes as wide as 20 km in some parts.

Being the second most populated country in the world, India is awash with bustling towns and villages and our river cruises mean you can immerse yourself in the local's way of life. Ride on rickshaws, witness terracotta temples, visit villages and dine alongside Gangetic dolphins. Through the cuisine and the excursions, a Pandaw India river cruise really does encompass the Indian lifestyle completely.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISE 2024-26 GUIDE

When it comes to planning the ultimate getaway, there are so many reasons why cruise vacations rank among the most popular travel options. First of all, they’re completely stress-free. On a cruise vacation, all the planning is taken care of by the cruise line — from the  destinations  you sail to and the  shore excursions  available at each port, to a full range of  entertainment  and activities happening onboard every day. If you’re not a planner, or if the only things you’re looking to focus on during your getaway is savoring great food, relaxing, and soaking up the sights, cruise vacations are the way to go. A cruise vacation is also a great option if you’re traveling with the whole family, especially when you opt for a Royal Caribbean cruise. All of the ships in this cruise line’s fleet offer family-friendly experiences for guests of all ages. Even little ones will find plenty of ways to play with spaces and activities designed for tots to tweens. One of the top reasons savvy travelers love cruising, though, is because of the incredible value it offers. With Royal Caribbean, your cruise fare includes access to most of the ship’s attractions, select dining venues and all of the entertainment onboard. If you want to make your  experience  even more all-inclusive, you can opt for  beverage  and  specialty dining  packages that cover drinks and dinner at some of the most exclusive restaurants in the fleet. On top of all that, the cruise line presents frequent limited-time offers and seasonal sales, making it easy to score big savings when booking your vacation.

Little-known Madagascar

Nosy be - port louis, dates: 11/28/2025 to  12/12/2025, flight mauritius/nosy be + transfer.

Innumerable adjectives are used to describe Madagascar, as anyone who travels to this island-continent is inevitably enchanted and filled with wonder. They are most likely drawn to it for its unusual geology that forms majestic landscapes where extraordinary plant life thrives. Baobabs, kalanchoes and the aloes of Madagascar create a veritable botanical paradise for the many species of animals that live here.

Over 15 days, aboard Le Bougainville , explore the red island during an expedition cruise combining encounters with the local communities, geological discoveries, and the opportunity to observe the native fauna and flora.

To the north of Madagascar, from the shores of Nosy Be - whose nickname used to be ‘the island of perfumes’ - you will begin your odyssey with a stop to discover the welcoming community of Nosy Komba .

In Mahajanga , you will explore Ankarafantsika National Park , home to numerous species of birds and lemurs, before heading to the picturesque and stunning Belo sur Mer . Here, enjoy a first encounter with the Vezo people, who are among the world’s last ‘sea nomads’, and learn more about how they make their dugout canoes, used for trade.

Toliara , formerly Tuléar, comes into view at the mouth of the Onilahy River . Nearby, the wild expanses of southwestern Madagascar form UNESCO biosphere reserves thanks to their exceptional flora that will delight botany enthusiasts.

Along the vast beaches lined with dunes in Sarodrano , you will have the unique privilege of meeting and interacting with a small community of Vezos. You will visit their charming fishing village and sit with them in their authentic dugout canoes with square sails, to learn about their age-old seafaring skills.

Out at sea await turquoise waters and the natural pools of Nosy Ve , an islet of white sand that shelters a large colony of red-tailed tropicbirds.

It is now time to discover the fascinating Fort-Dauphin . More commonly called Tolagnaro, it is fascinating for its past marked by colonisation and for its natural environment where exceptional plant life has created a breathtaking décor.

Then, Le Bougainville will reach Port Louis in Mauritius , where this unforgettable cruise will come to an end.

The encounters with the wildlife described above illustrate possible experiences only and cannot be guaranteed.

When an item transported aboard is considered illegal, the relevant authorities will be notified systematically.

Click here  for the full list of items prohibited on board.

Warning about the use of drones : the use of drones aboard PONANT ships, whether they are sailing at sea, at a port of call or anchored, is strictly forbidden. The use of drones on land in the Arctic and Antarctic regions is also strictly forbidden by international polar regulations. In other regions, it may be possible to use drones on land if permission has been obtained from the relevant authorities of each country and each region travelled through, as well as a pilot’s licence that should be obtained from your home country. Passengers are responsible for obtaining these permits; they should be able to present them at all times. Passengers who do not obtain these authorisations expose themselves to the risk of legal proceedings.

Expedition programmes include activities such as zodiac outings and landings (sometimes with "wet landings"), moderate walks to more active hikes, all accompanied by your expedition team of naturalist guides.

Ports of call, visited sites, outings and landings will depend on weather conditions, winds and the state of the sea. These can force a change of plans at any time. The Captain and the Expedition Leader may at any time cancel or stop any activity, or even modify the itinerary. The final itinerary will be confirmed by the Captain, who will take into account the touristic quality of the sites and above all, the safety of the passengers. His decision will be based on advice from experts and authorities.

Travelling to isolated regions is an exhilarating experience. In remote areas, please remember that you are far from modern hospitals with full medical facilities, thus evacuation is extremely expensive. Without adequate medical coverage, all expenses will have to be immediately paid with your personal funds. We urge you to subscribe to full coverage insurance, choose your insurance company very carefully, be extremely vigilant and ensure your insurance is fully comprehensive, especially if you are insured by your credit card. PONANT offers an insurance contract with extensive guarantees, please contact us for more information.

Supervision of the dives

Your dives will be led by your PONANT instructor. He will take care of your safety and that all goes smoothly. On some diving sites, as in natural reserves or if the local regulations require it, a local guide will escort the diving.

Highlights of 2025 Cruises to The Caribbean

Many of Norwegian's Caribbean cruises have the same ports of call on their itineraries. These destinations are among the most desirable in The Caribbean, so you can experience some of the best the region has to offer. Let's take a closer look at the highlights of Norwegian's 2025 cruises to The Caribbean to give you a better sense of what to expect on your journey:

  • Cartagena, Colombia: Featured in the 14-day cruise on Norwegian Jewel to the Panama Canal, which sails in January 2025, Cartagena is a historic Colombian city that's rich in natural beauty and urban splendor. Some must-see attractions are Old City Cartagena, Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, and the Palacio de la Inquisición.
  • Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic: Located just southeast of the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, Cabo Rojo is a beloved beach destination because of its unspoiled nature and extraordinary coastal views. The azure waters are also home to some of The Caribbean's best-preserved coral reefs, offering sightings of fauna such as manatees and hawksbill sea turtles.
  • Cozumel, Mexico: Cozumel is an island situated off the eastern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. Here, you have ample opportunities for water activities, such as fishing, snorkeling, and diving, as well as explorations of wilderness at Punta Sur Ecological Park or the island's east side.

  • George Town, Grand Cayman: Though only around 22 miles long, Grand Cayman has abundant offerings for beachgoers, culture and history buffs, art lovers, and families alike, and George Town provides easy access to it all. Some of the most popular destinations are Seven-Mile Beach, the Cayman Farmers Market, and the Cayman Islands National Museum, which features over 8,000 items.
  • Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas: Norwegian owns a 268-acre private paradise known as Great Stirrup Cay and offers it exclusively to our guests. In addition to beaches and water sports, the island offers opportunities for ziplining, shopping, and splashing alongside the famous Bahamian swimming pigs.
  • Puerto Limón, Costa Rica: Puerto Limón , bursting with natural beauty, is well-suited to a broad range of cruisers. Adventure seekers may want to go ziplining amid the rainforest canopy or rafting down the Río Pacuare, and water lovers can go snorkeling at Cahuita National Park. If you're looking for a quieter time, relax on the beach or look for sloths near the port or in Vargas Park.
  • St. George's, Grenada: St. George's , the capital of Grenada, is rich in distinctive experiences. One of the most unique sights is the haunting Grenada Underwater Sculpture Park, accessible via snorkeling or scuba diving.
