2009 dodge journey. Brake and reverse lights don't work. Bulbs are fine. Is there a fuse for this? Where is it located? Please help! Thanks.

This is from my 2014 Manual:

There are no individual fuses for the back up or brake lamps. However, there are 2 40a green fuses, labeled "Exterior Lights 1" and "Exterior Lights 2". These are both located in the fuse block under the hood. Hope this helps.

Let me know if you have issues. I do know that the 2009 and 2010 were basically the same, but there were major changes in 2011 to present.

Thanks again dhh3. Fuses changed. Fuse ox was labeled. I used a fuse tester and changed all that needed changing. LOL. Did the trick.

Good job. Always check fuses first. Saves a bunch of heartache waiting for someone to suggest it. Question is, why did it blow? It's likely to blow again, so start doing some troubleshooting. Pull the bulbs and check for corrosion in the terminals. Check for pinched wires. If the bulbs are original, I'd go ahead and replace them. I've had bulbs before that looked fine and worked fine but were old and used excessive current, resulting in blown fuses.

I was just wondering if anybody had any idea for a 2015 Dodge Journey SXT where the fuse is located is it the same as the Dodge Journey you guys have where it's the two green fuses exterior one and exterior lights to or is it fuse with the ignition I've heard from some people it's i g n 1 fuse but I just wanted to make sure if anyone has a more better rough idea on which fuse box it is first off the one underneath my passenger side – or the one underneath the hood and secondly which fuse is exactly or which fuse is it tied with. Any information that I can receive on this subject will be extremely grateful and appreciative. Happy holidays everyone God bless

Dodge Journey Brake Warning Light: Meaning, Causes, + How to Fix

Your Dodge Journey ‘s brake light indicator is there to inform you of an issue with your vehicle’s brake system. It is a light different from the anti-lock brake system, which has its own ABS warning light . 

The brake light indicates a problem with the physical braking system itself.

Check the Emergency Brake First

If you read this article trying to figure out whether to drive your vehicle, check the emergency brake first. 

If it’s engaged, the brake light will stay lit. If the handle isn’t all of the way down, it’ll cause the brake warning light to stay on. Check to make sure that there isn’t a little bit left that it needs to turn the brake light off.

Now if the emergency brake didn’t fix the situation, it’s time to look into what is causing your Journey’s brake warning light to stay on. The brake light is perhaps the most critical warning light of all.

We do not recommend driving with this light on at all . Doing so may lead to injury when the brakes fail.

Dodge Journey Brake Warning Light Causes

The brake warning light indicates that your Journey has detected that one of its major brake components has failed, typically seen through a pressure loss. 

You’ll feel a loss of pressure that manifests itself in the form of a “mushy” brake pedal (low brake fluid level).

If the brake light is only coming on when you push the brakes, that’s a definite indication that the pressure in the brake system is too low. Either the brakes need to be bled, or there is a leak.

Brake Fluid Leak

Since you’ve already checked the emergency brake handle, now it’s time to check the master cylinder and see if the brake fluid is low or not. Now if it is low but not empty, adding more may provide a temporary fix.

If the brake fluid looks like it is out, you’ll need to add more, bleed the brakes, and ideally fix the problem so that you aren’t repeating all of this again. If the brake fluid leaks over the brake pads and shoes, it means poor brake performance.

Just remember, it had to leak out somewhere, and adding fluid without fixing the problem is a temporary solution. The leak can get worse over time and lead to brake failure.  Look around the brake calipers and brake lines for the leak. Look for fluid under your Journey, where you usually park.

Pressure Differential Switch

Your brake system is divided into two circuits. These circuits cut the brake system in two. That way, if the brake system gets a leak or fails, you still have brakes on half of your Journey’s wheels.

The pressure differential switch measures the difference in pressure between the two circuits and will report that there is a difference by turning on your Journey’s brake warning light.

In most vehicles, this switch is located in the master cylinder . You’ll see a harness plugged in somewhere around there.

Worn Brake Pads

Worn brake pads are often a cause of the brake warning light coming on. The pads have built-in wear sensors that will trigger the light whenever they get down to a certain thickness.  These sensors are known as squealers, and you’ll hear.

This is important because it alerts you to replace your brakes before they become too thin and can’t stop the vehicle properly. If your brakes are worn, be sure to have them replaced as

Check the Brake Lights

Some vehicles will now activate the brake warning light on the dash if the actual brake lights behind it have failed. Check to see that both of them are lighting up. If not, try replacing the bulb and see if that solves the problem.

How to Turn off Your Journey’s Brake System Warning Light

The only way to turn the brake light off is to restore proper line pressure to both brake circuits when the pedal is pushed.

Don’t drive if your Journey is having trouble stopping or noticeably leaking fluid. Have it towed to a mechanic.

If you mess up fixing your engine, the vehicle does not move. If you mess up fixing the brakes, it doesn’t stop. That’s infinitely more dangerous.

If your Dodge Journey’s brake warning light is on, and you’ve checked the emergency brake, you’ll need to look for a leak in the lines, calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, etc. Good luck diagnosing the issue. If there is anything that you would like to add, please leave a comment below.

The brake lights on your 2009 Dodge Journey illuminate when you hit the brake pedal and help prevent you from being rear ended by the cars behind you. Brake light bulbs grow dimmer over time and eventually burn out. See how to change the brake lights on your 2009 Dodge Journey. The first step is to locate the brake light socket in your Journey. Moscow Sky Lights Up With Strange Glow After Explosion at Electrical Substation: Reports

N ew footage has emerged showing bright flashes lighting up the night sky in southern Moscow during the early morning hours of November 22.

Knewz.com has learned that there was an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of Russia's capital city followed by an alleged power outage in "several" homes.

Video snippets, shared on Russian news channels like ASTRA , captured a series of flashes that caused the sky to change color. Smoke could also be seen rising from a building.

Corroborating the video, several Russian Telegram accounts reported an explosion near the south of Moscow and a subsequent fire at the Lyublino electrical substation, southeast of central Moscow, per Newsweek .

The local authorities from the area have since confirmed that an explosion occurred in the village of Molokovo, but they reassured the public that all vital facilities were operating as normal.

Russian outlet MSK1.ru reported the blaze at the substation and noted “several” power outages.

The town of Lytkarino, located to the southeast of Moscow, was one of the affected areas, as reported by the independent outlet, Meduza .

Additional power failures were reported in the southern Domodedovo section of the city. However, electricity was later restored to these areas.

One local resident speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but additional sources are yet to support this theory.

Newsweek reported that messages on the ASTRA Telegram account run by independent Russian journalists showed residents near the substation panicking. One concerned Russian called it a "nightmare."

The incident follows an attack by Russia on a power station in southwestern Ukraine that left 2,000 people without electricity .

Knewz.com reported previously:

“ Russian forces launched a total of 38 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 drones during the later hours of November 17 and 18.

The Ukrainian Air Force Command reported that 29 of these drones were shot down [...].

One civilian was injured as a result of the attack that targeted energy infrastructure in the southwestern Odesa Oblast.”

The assault came after repeated warnings by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky that Russia would try to cripple its power grid as winter approaches.

Ukraine's leader warned that if Russia resorted to attacking its power utilities, it would respond in kind.

Ukraine has conducted numerous long-range aerial drone strikes on Moscow since May 2023.

Most recently on November 20, it was reported that one such incursion was intercepted close to the city, per Kyiv Post .

Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed this and elaborated that the region's air defense systems intercepted the unmanned craft over the city of Elektrostal to the east of Moscow, as well as another over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow.

The details of the recently surfaced video footage have yet to be independently verified.
