Requirements

The following are the requirements to apply for a Bahrain e-visa online;

Iqama Holders

• A passport with at least 6 months validity.
• Copy of the passport page with GCC entry stamp.
• Copy of Iqama.
• 3 months Bank Statement with at least SR 3,000 closing balance.
• Hotel Booking.
• A letter stating that you are a GCC visitor coming with your sponsor via King Fahad Causeway, hence there is no Air Ticket.
• Debit/Credit Card to pay the fee.

Add: Family Visit Visa

• Multiple Family Visit Visa stamped on passport.
• Signed copy of the family visit visa.
• Sponsor’s Iqama.

Apply for Bahrain Visa online

Step 1: residental status.

In order to apply for a Bahrain visa online;

• Open: https://www.evisa.gov.bh/VISA/visaInput
• Current GCC Permit? Yes .
• Select the country: Saudi Arabia .
• Purpose of Visit: Tourism .
• Detailed Purpose: Exhibition .
• Select your Nationality.

Step 2: Type of Visa

Now you need to select the type of visa you want to apply for;

• Family Visit Visa holder = Vist Single Entry.
• Iqama or GCC residence permit = Visit – Single ENtry (GCC).

Step 3: Visa Form

On the next page to apply for a Bahrain e-visa online, fill out the visa form as per your passport.

Step 4: Attach Documents

Now on this page, you need to attach the following documents;

• Passport copy.
• Return Air Ticket: Visit Visa Copy if traveling by road.
• Bank Statement with a minimum balance of SR 3,000 . You can attach the bank statement of your Iqama holder sponsor.
• Signed Letter: Visit Visa copy signed by the applicant.
• Other: Attach sponsor’s Iqama.
• Other: Attach Schengen, UK, US Visa on your passport (if any).

Step 5: Submit another Application

If you are a group of family members traveling together, it is better to apply for visas together. In order to do so;

• Click on “ Submit another Application “.
• Follow the entire process from Step 3 as explained above.

Step 6: Pay the fee

At the final stage of applying for a Bahrain e-visa for GCC residents, you will have to pay the fee;

• BD 4 upon submission of documents.
• BD 8 upon approval of the visa. 
• Total Fee: BD 12 or SR 120.

Keep in mind that the payment of an application fee does not guarantee approval of a visa. Holding a visa does not guarantee your entry to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

6- Receive Visa Approval Email

Usually within 48 hours of Application Submission, You’ll receive an Email for Visa Fee Payment.

7- Fill the Pay For Application data and proceed for payment

Make the payment and wait to get your visa approval in your email.

Application Reference Number is the number that you saved in STEP 5. If you forgot to save Application Reference Number, It will be available on your Email.

8- Bahrain Visa Approval Confirmation Email

Within 30 Minutes of Payment, You will obtain Visa Confirmation Email. Save the Soft copy for reference. You don’t need to print it.

Please note that this Visa must be used within 90 days upon approval.

The Bahrain on-arrival visa is available to Saudi residents. This visa is for people living in Saudi Arabia who wish to visit Bahrain for a short time.

To get this visa, you must be an expat with a valid Saudi Iqama and have a confirmed return ticket(If you’re traveling by air).

You cannot apply for this type of visa if you are not a Saudi Arabian resident or do not have an exit ticket from Bahrain.

It is mandatory to apply for a Bahrain e-visa at www.evis.gov.bh If you want to take your family to Bahrain with you. The family members you want to take with you must accompany you to the border to get them on-arrival visas.

Bahrain Visa Requirements For Saudi Iqama Holders

Following are the requirements for Iqama holders to get an on-arrival visa:

• Passport with six months validity
• Valid Iqama with three months validity
• At least three months passed since the iqama issuance
• A valid Istimara (vehicle registration card). The Ministry Of Interior issues it.
• A valid re-entry visa from KSA
• Tawakkalna Immune Status (Confirmation that you’ve taken all mandatory Covid tests) 
• For a rented car, a NOC to cross the border.
• A return ticket to KSA (If traveling by air)
• A suitable profession that matches Iqama Profession List .

• It is valid for three months , and you can stay in Bahrain for 30 days per entry .

Entering Bahrain By Road

Once you reach the border on King Fahd Causeway , your exit will be processed by an immigration officer.

• You have to pay a vehicle toll fee of 25 SR or 2.5 BD .
• You’ll also pay 35 SR or 3.5 BD as insurance cost.
• Once all the documents are processed, your passport will be stamped with a Bahranian Visa .

The on-arrival visa obtained by road has the following features:

• It is a single-entry visa , which means you can only enter Bahrain once on it.
• The visa has two weeks validity which cannot be extended.

On your return from Bahrain to KSA, your passport will be stamped with an exit from Bahrain and entry into Saudi Arabia. Once in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, the visit visa holder and his family can stay in the kingdom for additional 90 days.

In order to enter Bahrain through King Fahad Causeway, first you will have to clear Saudi Customs where your passport will get Exit Stamp from Saudi Arabia. Your passport will get an entry stamp from Bahrain authorities next. Note that you will also need to pay Toll Tax for your car.

Noe that a single-entry Visa on Arrival for Bahrain can be used only once for a single entry with a maximum length of allowed stay 2 weeks (or longer for some nationalities).

On the other hand, a multiple-entry Visa on Arrival can be used for multiple entries, and the length of stay allowed is 1 month in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

After you complete your trip in Bahrain, you will have to return back within valid timelines. When returning back to Saudi Arabia, your passport will get exit stamp from Bahraini Authorities and Entry Stamp by Saudi Arabia.

Is it possible to apply for this Visa in Bahrain?

If so, how long will it take to be processed?

As a UK Citizen, you can get a tourist visa on arrival in Bahrain. You can enter and leave multiple times as long as you request the multiple.

However, to enter KSA by the causeway depends on what entry point is specified in your KSA visa. They normally issue such visas with entry by air or land.

I've used the Causeway a few times and each time I entered KSA, I'd specified in the visa application that I'd be entering by road from Bahrain. Hence I had no problems.

Most Limo/Taxi companies offer a service to KSA.

One I have used is called LIMOSINA and has an outlet at arrivals in Bahrain Airport. They will meet you at arrivals and take you across.

No horror stories if your paperwork is correct

As of September 2018 the Saudi authorities are stopping visitors travelling from Bahrain to Saudi from using the causeway (Applies to Visit and Business Visas). Wether it is a permanent thing? Who knows!

Usually, if you apply for a visa IN Bahrain, then the one which is stamped shows that you can travel by land. If you apply from Dubai, it will usually be a visa valid via air.

However, up until a while ago, for a multiple entry visa, you just had to do the first entry via air and then you could travel across the causeway on subsequent entries.

Now theoretically speaking, the visa which is stamped for air travel is valid ONLY for air travel. Since the last few months, quite a few people have been denied from crossing via the causeway on that visa. It is not a rule or law change but appears to be application of the procedures. There have been a lot of developments on the causeway in the last 3-4 months; namely (you can see the experiences of people on expat dot com):

1) People who usually extended / reset their Saudi visit visas by exiting Saudi and then doing a u turn before Bahrain are being stopped if they don't have a visa for Bahrain or don't have a nationality which allows for visa on arrival. Majority of the people are stopped but few have been able to convince their way through

2) The above i.e. turning people back if the visa shows travel by air. Again, it is not 100% and nationalities from the sub-continent seem to be most affected

3) Initial total ban on visa on arrival through causeway for Pakistani and Bangladeshi passport holders. Coincided with an unofficial ban for Pakistani's for new work and visit visas. Eventually relaxed but labor and driver professions on Iqamas still cannot cross and get visa on arrival as they used to

I do the causeway trip every week and since the last year or so and I have noticed these things happening off and on. It seems to be driven primarily by security concerns.

I hold a 2 year multiple entry commercial entry visa for Saudi which was issued from Bahrain and is valid for land travel.

Going back to Saudi Arabia using Bahrain Visit Visa

Saudi Arabia has affirmed that it will continue global travel on terminals everywhere in the Kingdom on May 17 including Visit Visa. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) instructed all airlines working from the Saudi air terminals about the changing dates of re-opening of international flight as referenced in a previous announcement for permitting Saudi residents to travel abroad. However, you can visit Bahrain for 14 days, and then you are eligible to go to Saudi Arabia. In this article, We will discuss the complete procedure of doing so.

However, The latest news confirmed that the international flights would be re-opened from 1:00 a.m. on May 17 (Shawwal 5, 1442). Whereas In the prior instructions provided on January 12, the GACA informed the international flights would be re-opened on March 31.

Moreover, An official source at the interior ministry said the decision was taken based on the health ministry’s statement that the COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers were late in delivering contracted batches on schedule.

Procedure to get Bahrain Visit Visa

Suppose you are an Expat, citizen, or non-citizen of KSA and wanted to travel to Saudi Arabia before opening an international border without any difficulty. In this article, we have described a straightforward method to visit Saudi Arabia transit BAHRAIN with a valid Bahrain visit visa This procedure is valid before 17-05-2021.

However, There are two ways to get visa:

• Visa on Arrival
• Online E-Visa

Visa on Arrival:

This type of Visa is free of any complicated registration process, and you can get it at Bahrain’s airport on your arrival. However, if your IQAMA profession is not valid, it might be difficult for you to get this Visa type. It is suitable for you to verify from your departure airport whether your IQAMA profession is valid for Visa on arrival or not.

Online E-Visa:

However, If your IQAMA profession is not applicable for Visa on arrival, the other way is to go through the website. Moreover, We have broken down the procedure into two sections. Follow them below to get your E-visa:

Visa Duration and Visa Type:

• First of all, visit the following webpage of  Bahrain E Visa Portal
• On the home page, select E-visa services and then click on “ Apply for an E-visa. “
• Firstly, you will be asked, “Do you have a GCC permit or not?”, in our case, click on “YES.”
• Secondly, you have to choose the “Country Name”; in our case, it is “Saudi Arabia.”
• Thirdly, you will have to add your “Purpose of Visit”; in our case, it is “Tourism.”
• Fourthly, you will have to select “Detailed Purpose”; in our case, it is “Transit.”
• Select your Nationality
• Refresh the Captcha and enter the new one. Click on Next
• Once you clicked on “Next,” you will be redirected to the “Visa type Selection” page, where you will have to choose (1 Month Multiple Visit E-VISA) from different visa types and then click on apply now button to further proceed.
• Click on “Apply now” and wait for the next window to add personal details

Personal Details :

Once you clicked on “Apply now.” A new window will pop up where you will have to add your following details

• In the first column, you will have to add your “Passport Number.”
• Add your nationality
• In the next column, add your “Date of Birth” as shown in your IQAMA.
• Select “Gender” and “Country of Birth”
• Enter Passport Expiry Date
• In the seventh and eighth columns, you will have to add your “Family Name” and your “Given Name.”
• Enter “Occupation” and “”Job Title”
• Enter “Place of work” according to your work permit
• Add your Email and Phone Number
• In the last column, enter your father’s name.

Adding Requires Documents:

Once you clicked on “Next,” you will be redirected to a new page where you will have to attach the following documents either in PDF or PNJ form, including:

• Copy of return air ticket.
• Photocopy of the applicant’s passport plus a copy of the passport last page for Indian passports.
• Copy of hotel booking in Bahrain. Alternately, if you are staying with a relative, please provide a copy of their CPR Reader’s printout.
• Copy of a stamped bank statement under the visitor’s name covering the last three months with an ending balance of not less than the equivalent of BD 300 (SAR 2985) .
• Once you attached all the above documents and clicked on “Next.” Your application will be launched, and you will be allotted a reference number. Now pay a visa fee of BD 29 (SAR 288) via Master Card or any other authentic card.
• Now, your application will be submitted, and you will get your Visa in a period of 3 working days.

Arrival in Bahrain on Visit Visa:

Once you reached BAHRAIN, you will be quarantined for about 15 days, and you will be asked to pay BD 36 (SAR 359) to relevant authorities at the airport for 3 PCR tests. Use “ BE AWARE ” application to manage your result.

• You will be required to upload selfies on BeAware App.
• If your test report is -ve only then you will be eligible to roam freely in Bahrain
• You will be asked to take a test on the 5th and 10th day of your stay in Bahrain
• If your test is +ve, you will be contacted by Bahrain’s Ministry of Health and they will guide you further.

Departure to Saudi Arabia:

Once you have completed your 14 day Quarantine period and a -ve test report, you will be free to depart for Saudi Arabia. However, to enter in Saudi Arabia, you need to present a PCR test report taken within 72 hours. List of approved hospitals is given below

• Royal Hospital Bahrain
• American Mission Hospital
• Dr. Tariq Hospital
• Ibn Nafees Hospital
• Middle East Hospital
• Awali Hospital
• Noor Specialist Hospital
• King Abdullah Hospital

and few others.

If all reports are satisfactory, then you will be ready to travel to KSA. Make sure you travel to Saudi Arabia within 72 hours of the last PCR test. After reaching KSA, you will be asked to show your declaration form (Form authority gives you on landing in KSA) and PCR test report accordingly with the date and time when the test was conducted.

If your test report is satisfactory, you will be cleared from the immigration process in under 10 minutes without further delay.

Travel from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain by Road

If you live in Saudi Arabia and have a valid residence permit (Iqama), you are welcome to visit Bahrain. The passport is valid for three months and you can drive in Bahrain with Saudi driving license .

Tourists aren’t allowed to drive a rented car from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain or vice versa.

It is important that you have an exit-reentry visa. The journey begins in Khobar, a city located on the east coast of Saudi Arabia connected to Bahrain by the King Fahad Causeway, and takes approximately 20-45 minutes depending on the crowd level. In a very busy season, it could take up to two hours.

Documents and Guideline

• 3-month validity Iqama is required.
• The exit re-entry.
• If the car is leased or not owned, the car authorization is necessary.

Here are some things you should know:

• There is a 100 mph speed limit on the causeway.
• The best time for getting to Causeway is between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m.
• There is an app available on both the Play Store and the AppStore for monitoring the queue in Causeway.
• For navigation inside Bahrain, download offline maps (Maps.me).

Saudi Arabia to Bahrain by Car

When traveling by vehicle, taking a car across the causeway into Bahrain requires authorization from the owner unless you own it outright. There is no doubt about it. The fact that Saudi customs keeps turning back people at the very first booth. It is annoying because it causes a delay when you are in the queue. 

To travel outside Saudi Arabia, you must also purchase car insurance before entering the causeway. To drive on the causeway, you will have to pay 25 Saudi Riyals or 2.5 Bahraini Dinar.

Saudi Arabia to Bahrain by Public Transport

The most convenient way to get from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain without a car is by train and bus. It is possible to travel between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain with the SAPTCO buses. SAPTCO runs two buses daily from Manama – Lulu Centre to Dammam.
