Snoop Dogg Announces New Dates for ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ Tour

Snoop Dogg has announced his official U.S. and European tour dates in support of his 17th album 'I Wanna Thank Me,' released Aug. 16 via Doggystyle Records/Empire.

Rap legend Snoop Dogg has announced additional U.S. and European tour dates in support of his 17th album,  I Wanna Thank Me,  released on Aug. 16 via Doggystyle Records/Empire. 

The nine new January dates extend the previously announced December tour that longtime g-funk friend  Warren G for the run along with  RJMRLA and Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth . The I Wanna Thank Me tour is powered by Snoop Dogg’s newest live entertainment company, Bobby Dee Presents.

I Wanna Thank Me celebrates Snoop’s nearly three decades in the game since being discovered by Dr. Dre  in 1992, during which he’s released 21 songs that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and landed three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. His latest album is named after his acceptance speech while receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, during which he credited himself for his longevity and success in the music business.

Snoop Dogg’s I Wanna Thank Me tour  kicks off on Dec. 2 with a previously announced sold-out show at the Fillmore in San Francisco, with new dates beginning Jan. 17 at The Dome at Oakdale in Wallingford, Connecticut and plays through a Jan. 26 date at the Fillmore in Detriot. He then heads to Europe to perform at Arena Dublin on April 9 before heading to the U.K. for five more shows, including an April 15 concert at the O2 Arena.

Snoop Dogg komt op 7 april 2020 naar de Ziggo Dome!

Drop it like it's hot... En hot nieuws hebben we zeker! Op 7 april 2020 komt Snoop Dogg met zijn I Wanna Thank Me Tour   met een heleboel bevriende special guests naar de Ziggo Dome! De kaartverkoop start 14 oktober om 10:00 uur via Eventim. De carrière van Snoop Dogg duurt inmiddels ruim 25 jaar en dat is voor ‘Tha Doggfather’ reden genoeg om zijn grootste tour ooit aan te kondigen. De I Wanna Thank Me Tour is vernoemd naar zijn zeventiende album. De titel ervan is afgeleid uit het dankwoord dat Snoop uitsprak toen hij in 2019 werd ingehuldigd in de Hollywood Hall Of Fame. De tour is dus niet alleen een viering van zijn jubileum, maar indirect ook van zijn eigen tegel.   Calvin Broadus, zoals de rapper echt heet, is een ware Westcoast-legende. Nadat hij werd ontdekt door Dr. Dre en mocht meedoen op diens album The Chronic, besloot diezelfde Dr. Dre hem te helpen met zijn eigen debuutplaat. Doggystyle verscheen in 1993 en is inmiddels een regelrechte klassieker te noemen. Wie kent er niet de klassieke g-funk anthems als What’s My Name?, Murder Was The Case, Lodi Dodi en Gin And Juice? Maar daar hield het niet op. Snoop’s hitlijst is bijna oneindig; Drop It Like It’s Hot, Beautiful, Vato, Nuthin’ But A G-Thang en Young, Wild & Free bijvoorbeeld. De stempel die hij op de hiphopcultuur heeft achtergelaten is gigantisch; als rapper, acteur, zakenman én presentator. Welcome to the second post of the “You take a metal head to a hip-hop/rap show,” and in this edition I went to see the man himself, Snoop D O double G!!!! I have always been a fan of Uncle Snoop. Growing up, my mom and dad would play Snoop Dogg. My dad is a huge gangster rap fan, and Snoop Dogg is his favorite! He said that the first time he heard Snoop was on Dr. Dre’s The Chronic and heard him in F**k wit Dre Day when Snoop started off with “bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay doggy dog in the m*****f****** houseeeeee” and has loved him ever since. My mom has also always been a fan of Snoop Dogg and I remember she always had his song 1800 playing.

This was my first time seeing Snoop Dogg and I was really excited!! When we got to the Ritz, there weren’t many people there (we got there at doors); we got there early so we could get a good spot to see the man himself! We were standing in front of the sound booth and we had a perfect view of the stage. There were a handful of rappers that opened up the show and they were really good! One of the acts walks by my mom and we said “hey” to them and they gave us a hug. The crowd didn’t get into the opening acts but as soon and Uncle Snoop hit the stage, people started rocking!

I was thrilled when Snoop Dogg hit the stage. He came out rapping and did his little gangster dance (my dad can do the swaying side to side dance really well). He also had dancers on stage dancing behind him. But it gets better, Snoop had two stripper poles on stage and had strippers dancing on the poles while he played. What an O.G. move. Me and my mom danced all night, and we ran into some family friends that hung out with us during the show!

Although Snoop Dogg didn’t play my favorite song, 1800, he did play some other songs that I really liked, such as Drop It Like It’s Hot, I Wanna Rock, Gin N’ Juice, and Nuthin’ but a G thang. Overall, it was a great show and a perfect way to end 2019. I would totally go see Snoop Dogg again!
