is uk visit visa open for pakistan

In this comprehensive guide, we are going to break down the step-by-step process of getting a UK visit visa from Pakistan. From different visa types, and  eligibility criteria to visa fees for different lengths of stay, we are going to cover it all. We will also provide you with useful tips for a successful visa application.

Step 1: Determine Your Visa Type

Start by carefully selecting the appropriate visa type that aligns with the purpose of your visit. The UK extends different categories of visit visas to cater to diverse needs:

  • Standard Visitor Visa: Tailored for tourism, family visits, business interactions, or academic conferences.
  • Family Visitor Visa: Designed for visiting family members who reside in the UK.
  • Business Visitor Visa: Designed for attending business meetings, interviews, or conferences.
  • Academic Visitor Visa: Facilitates academic visits such as research or lecturing engagements.
  • Child Visitor Visa: Intended for minors under 18 visiting the UK.
  • Sports Visitor Visa: Designed for athletes participating in sporting events.

It is essential to carefully review the requirements for each visa type on the official UK government website to ensure accurate categorization of your application.

Step 2: Check Eligibility Criteria

Before proceeding further, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for a UK Visit Visa. You must demonstrate that:

  • Plan to leave the UK after your visit.
  • Have enough money to support yourself during your stay or receive financial support from someone else.
  • You Can afford your journey back home or to your next destination.
  • Don’t intend to stay in the UK for long periods or make it your main home.

Please note that there might be additional eligibility requirements depending on your visit purpose.

Step 3: Gather Required Documents

Compiling the necessary documents serves as the cornerstone of a successful visa application. Assemble the following essential documents to apply for a UK visit visa from Pakistan:

  • Valid Passport: Ensure your passport remains valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date.
  • Passport-sized Photographs: Include two recent passport-sized photos that adhere to size and background color guidelines.
  • Visa Application Form: Accurately complete the online application form on the official UK Visa and Immigration website. Store the application reference number for future reference.
  • Travel Itinerary: Present a comprehensive travel schedule that encompasses flight bookings, accommodation arrangements, and anticipated activities.
  • Financial Evidence: Include recent bank statements, pay slips, or financial documents that substantiate your capacity to cover travel expenses.
  • Accommodation Details: Providing confirmation of your accommodation arrangements, such as hotel reservations or an invitation letter from your host.
  • Proof of Ties to Pakistan: Showcase evidence of your robust connections to Pakistan, such as employment, property ownership, or family obligations.

Step 4: Complete The Online Application

Create an account on the official UK Visa and Immigration website and meticulously fill in the visa application form. Thoroughly review the form to avoid any inaccuracies before submission. Any inaccuracy in your application can result in visa delay or denial.

Step 5: Pay The Visa Fee

Once the application form is completed, proceed to make the visa fee payment online. The fee varies depending on the chosen visa category. Retain the payment receipt as it serves as documentation for your appointment.

Here are the visa fees for different lengths of stay:

  • Standard Visitor Visa for Academics (12 months): £200
  • 2-Year Long-Term Standard Visitor Visa: £376 (6 months per visit)
  • 5-Year Long-Term Standard Visitor Visa: £670 (6 months per visit)
  • 10-Year Long-Term Standard Visitor Visa: £837 (6 months per visit)

The visa fee estimation is based on the recent information provided on the official UK Visa and Immigration website. Make sure to check the official website for any changes in the visa fee.

Step 6: Schedule Biometrics Appointment

After successfully paying the fee, schedule an appointment at a visa application center for the collection of biometric data, which includes fingerprints and a photograph. Pick a convenient date and time for your appointment.

Step 7: Attend The Appointment

On the designated day, visit the application center with your passport, appointment confirmation, and all necessary documents. Your biometric data will be collected as part of the standard application procedure.

Step 8: Attend An Interview (If Required)

In specific instances, an interview might be requested, either in person or through a video call. Prepare by meticulously reviewing your application and being ready to discuss your travel plans and ties to Pakistan.

Step 9: Wait For A Decision

Following the biometrics appointment and interview (if applicable), your application enters the processing phase. Bear in mind that processing times for a UK visit visa from Pakistan vary, so submitting your application well in advance is recommended.
