Compared with other Visas, prices guide
You can get other types of UAE visas, not only the 3 months Dubai visa, but also 30 days Dubai visa. Below is a list of the UAE visa's single and multiple entries and prices.
The multiple-entry visas for the United Arab Emirates are sometimes confusing. They begin counting from the day you enter the country and allow you to enter it several times within the next 30 or 90 days.
The 3 months Dubai visa allows one to Stay in UAE for around 90 days. After 90 days, you are given 10 days, a grace period, to figure out how to extend your stay. After the 10 days you have not legalized your stay in UAE, you will be fined for overstaying.
The overstay fee that applies to visitors who continue to stay in the UAE after the expiration of their visit visa is distinct from the overstay fine that applies to residents who remain in the country after their visa has expired.
The fines levied against persons who fall into this group are far higher than those set against residents. This type of visa holder also receives a grace period when they apply.
Nevertheless, this privilege is highly restricted, as it only lasts for ten days and only applies to posts made during this time; daily fees are imposed. During this period, the visiting visa can be renewed or converted into a resident visa if the applicant chooses. The following are the fines one can get for overstaying in UAE;
- On the first day of overstay, AED 200
- Each consecutive day AED100
- Service fees are AED 100

If you are planning to visit the UAE anytime soon and are unfamiliar with the visa requirements in the UAE and the processes that you need to follow, here is our detailed guide on all the visa options available to visitors if they wish to visit the UAE.
Do I need a visa to enter Dubai?
Whether you need a visa or not is dependent on your country of citizenship. While citizens of some countries have the option for a visa on arrival, you may need to apply for a visa before you enter the UAE in some other situations.
What is the validity period of my visa?
All visas are valid for 60 days from the date of issue until entry to the UAE, except the 48-hour and 96-hour Transit Visa, which is valid for 30 days.
What should I check before travelling to Dubai?
You would need to ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months at the time of entry. You may also require a prearranged visa depending on your nationality.
Can I get a visa on arrival?
Citizens of more than 50 countries do not require a pre-arranged visa to enter Dubai. As per the website of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, citizens of GCC countries and citizens of the following countries can get a visa on arrival:
1. Australia
5. Bulgaria
10. Czech Republic
11. Denmark
12. Estonia
13. Finland
15. Germany
17. Hong Kong
18. Hungary
19. Iceland
20. Ireland
24. Liechtenstein
25. Lithuania
26. Luxembourg
27. Malaysia
30. Netherlands
31. New Zealand
34. Portugal
36. Romania
37. San Marino
38. Singapore
39. Slovakia
40. Slovenia
41. South Korea
44. Switzerland
45. The Vatican
46. United Kingdom
47. United States of America
Indian citizens
Some Indian citizens may also be eligible for a visa on arrival. These include Indian citizens holding a normal passport and either:
• a visit visa issued by the USA or
• a green card issued by the USA or
• a residence visa issued by the UK or
• a residence visa issued by the EU
In such cases, you can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days, provided that the visa or the green card is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival into the UAE.
If you are not eligible for a visa on arrival, here are all the other visa options you can avail of:
1. Tourist visa – 30-day or 90-day
Tourist visas can be obtained by tourists from around the world. Depending on your plan, tourist visas to the UAE can be issued for 30-days or 90-day durations, and allow single entry or multiple entries.
Who can apply for your tourist visa?
1. Airlines
Each airline has some conditions, which must be met in order for your visa to be arranged by them. One of the conditions is flying with them. When booking your ticket, you can also enquire about applying for a visit visa.
2. Tourist visas through agencies and hotels
Licensed travel agents and hotels in the UAE can arrange a tourist visa for you, provided you purchase the ticket through them and maintain a hotel reservation with the specific hotel.
You can also contact travel agencies in your country for any tourist packages available to the UAE in collaboration with a local tour operator.
3. Through UAE-based family and friends
As per the VisitDubai website, UAE residents (friends or relatives) can apply on your behalf subject to guidelines.
How can I extend the visa?
While the first time you apply for a visit visa you may not be inside the UAE, when extending the visa for another period of 30 or 90 days, you would need to apply for an ‘inside country visa change’, according to Sirajudeen Ummer, a Public Relations Officer with Dubai-based First Gate Business Services.
“The visa can be extended by providing the necessary documents and making the fee payment,” he said.
Documents required for processing inside the country visa change
• Passport copy (which should be valid for at least six months)
• Passport size photograph
• Old visa tourist/cancelled visa copy
• On arrival nationalities would only require Passport copy and photograph if they have entered UAE using on-arrival facility.
• If the visa was applied for by a relative or friend, they may need to submit a copy of their residence visa page and UID number.
Visas can cost approximately Dh320 for a one-month visa and Dh720 for a three month visa. However, as per Ummer, the cost may vary slightly based on the travel agency’s service charges.
You can apply for the second renewal before the expiry of the first one against Dh600 each time of renewal.
2. Transit visa – for 48 to 96 hours
This type of a visa, which is available for all passport holders, from 48 to 96 hours, is ideal for a short stopover in the UAE.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai took to its social media channels recently to inform passengers of how they can apply for a 96-hour transit visa – or an entry permit – when they arrive in the UAE.
Service requirements
To be able to get a transit visa issued at the immigration counter, you would need to present the following:
• Original passport
• An airline ticket showing the continuation of your journey, where the connecting flight should not be less than eight hours after you land in the UAE and not exceeding 96 hours and the destination of arrival and departure are not similar.
• Present a valid hotel reservation in UAE.
Service procedures
To apply for a transit visa, follow these steps:
• Visiting the airline company.
• Submit a request to issue a 96-hour entry permit with the airline’s service officer.
• If the request is approved, you will receive an approval of the request.
• Approach the passport officer at the immigration counter and complete the procedure.
Who needs a transit visa?
As per the UAE government’s official website – u.ae – if you are not one of the nationalities that are eligible for visa on arrival or a visa-free entry to the UAE, then you need a transit visa.
Who can apply for your transit visa?
UAE based-airlines you are travelling with can arrange your transit visa prior to your journey. If your trip is through a travel agency, the agency can also help you get the visa, but all visas are routed through the airline.
"The Transit Visa is a non-extendable single entry visa, valid for 30 days from the date of issue and the duration of stay is up to 96 hours (four days) from the time of entry. Transit passengers stopping at Dubai International Airport for a minimum of eight hours are eligible for a 96-hour Transit Visa," Shafiq Muhammad, Public Relations Officer with Muhaisnah Documents Clearing Services in Dubai told Gulf News.
"Such a visa is preferred by passengers having business meetings or taking a stopover en route to their next destination," he added.

Everything you need to know about getting a tourist visa for Dubai
It’s fairly easy….
Thinking of visiting Dubai, but you’re not sure how to get a tourist visa? Perhaps you already live in this gorgeous city and want to share it with family and friends, but aren’t sure how to go about securing the ever-important visa. For some it’s as easy as showing up at the airport, for others, there is a process that needs to be followed.
Here is everything you need to know about getting a tourist visa for Dubai.
No visa required
Citizens of the GCC areas do not require any sort of visa to enter Dubai. You simply need to provide your passport or your national ID at the point of entry and you will be granted entrance.
Visa on arrival
If you fall into this category, you’re in luck because there are certain countries that can simply arrive at Dubai International Airport and receive a tourist visa, on arrival.
There are a total of 50 countries that receive visas on arrival. Some include The United Kingdom (UK), The United States of America (USA), and countries that are part of the EU. For some countries you will be eligible for a 30-day visa, and for others a 90-day visa, with the possibility of extension.
Indian citizens who are holders of tourist visas from the USA, green cards, or have a residence visa in the UK or EU will also receive a visa on arrival, for 14 days, provided that the green card and residence visas have been valid for more than six months.
If you are a Mexican passport holder, you will be granted a multiple-entry visa on arrival. Your visa is valid for up to 180 days and is valid for six months from the date that the visa has been issued.
The list of countries that are able to attain a tourist visa on arrival in Dubai or the UAE may change from time to time and so you can easily see if you are eligible for a tourist visa on arrival by following the steps here .
Pre-arranged visa
When you do not fall under the above categories that means you need to apply for a tourist visa before you enter Dubai. This can be done in a number of ways.
You can easily apply directly through certain airlines including FlyDubai and Emirates . Alternatively, you can organise a tourist visa through licensed travel agents, tour operators and the hotel you will be staying at.
It is important to note that you cannot apply for a tourist visa through the UAE Embassy, one of the organisers mentioned above will apply for your visa on your behalf through the visa-issuing authorities here in Dubai.

1. Introduction
Dubai is one of the Middle Eastern cities with the highest influx of travelers per year. It has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the last ten years, and for good reason with so many great attractions. It has the largest shopping center in the world, the only winter park in the middle of the desert, the tallest skyscrapers and the most striking water source. That’s not it, there are also beautiful natural deserts and artificial islands. In a nutshell, everything that can attract the attention of a traveler is in Dubai.
No wonder that flights and trips to Dubai become more and more demanding and with it, the uncertainties and migratory requirements grew. In this article, we will talk about what you need to know to enter Dubai. You will learn how to obtain a visa, all types of visa, and their fees and the expenses that all these procedures entail.
2. Where is Dubai?
Dubai is one of the United Arab Emirates’ main cities and is considered one of the most striking and modern capitals of this Middle Eastern country. It is located within the Persian Gulf and in the Arabian desert, located on the Asian continent. It is a city with a lot of cultural diversity, and see millions of foreigners visiting it every year.
3. Why people travel to Dubai?
There are thousands and thousands of reasons why a traveler chooses the city of Dubai as a destination. It is a city with a unique culture. It is counted as one of the most luxurious and extravagant cities in the world – as a destination without comparisons. It has the most luxurious buildings that we can find. With the only 7-star hotel in the world, the city lives at a very fast pace but at the same time with its traditions and rites.
Food is another good reason to take a getaway to Dubai. Its cuisine is international but with a clear mark of its roots. You can get both local dishes and those from anywhere in the world. At the same time, it offers tourists unique landscapes such as its deserts, with the most striking and impressive red sand. But above all its people, full of hospitality, kindness, and tradition, without a doubt make Dubai a very interesting and attractive city to visit.
4. Requirements to enter the United Arab Emirates
Most of the countries would need a visa to enter Dubai. Some countries require a pre-approved visa while others get visa on arrival. Here we will talk about all types of visa and their fees.
To request it, the following requirements must be met:
- Have a valid passport, with a minimum of 6 months to expire.
- A color copy of the first page of the passport (the one that shows the bearer’s details) and a copy of the cover.
- Two photocopies of the application form (after filling it out).
- Two color size photos, without definitions or filters.
- Photocopy of the plane tickets plus the hotel reservation.
- Travel insurance.
- Like most countries in the world, the United Arab Emirates offers several types of visa. Foreigners should request the one that best suits the purpose of their trip to this Middle Eastern country:

10.Important considerations
Most UAE-issued visas with the exception of one, the Dubai Multiple Entry Visa, allow only one-time entry into the country. The same applies to tourists traveling on a cruise ship that passes through more than one port in the United Arab Emirates.

How to Apply for a Maid Visa in Dubai
If you’re considering becoming a domestic helper in Dubai, getting a maid visa in Dubai is the first step. It’s like unlocking the door to a world of opportunities in one of the Middle East’s most vibrant cities. It’s not just about paperwork and formalities—it’s about understanding what it takes to make your dream a reality. From gathering your documents to getting through health checks, each step is like a puzzle that fits into your bigger picture. And let’s not forget that knowing what being a maid in Dubai means is crucial. So, let’s dive in together and make this journey smooth sailing!
Advantages of Hiring a Maid in Dubai or the UAE
For busy entrepreneurs and business owners, time is of the essence. Many opt to enlist assistance, often in the form of a nanny or maid. In the UAE, hiring domestic help is commonplace, and for good reason:
Cost-effectiveness
Contrary to popular belief, hiring a maid in Dubai or the UAE is more affordable than expected. While employers must adhere to minimum wage standards, the overall expense is often lower than hourly agency rates.
Building Trusting Relationships
Bringing a live-in maid into your home fosters a trusting bond, with many becoming cherished household members. This continuity minimises disruption and ensures reliable support.
Enhanced Focus on Business
Delegating household tasks to a maid frees up valuable time and energy, allowing you to concentrate on growing your business and enjoying quality time with loved ones.
Versatile Domestic Assistance
Maids often possess various skills, from cooking and cleaning to childcare. This versatility offers a convenient and cost-effective alternative to hiring multiple specialists separately.
Job Creation
Employing domestic help benefits your household and contributes to job creation. Many seeking such positions have families to support, and the demand for assistance continues to rise.
Compliance with Legal Requirements
Obtaining a maid visa ensures compliance with UAE labour laws , safeguarding both employer and employee. Hiring workers informally or on a cash basis can lead to legal repercussions, highlighting the importance of lawful employment practices.
New law by MoHRE
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation ( MoHRE ) has introduced a new law, Federal Decree-Law No. 9 of 2022, which came into effect on December 15, 2022. This law outlines regulations regarding the recruitment and employment of domestic workers in the UAE. According to the new decree law, individuals seeking to hire domestic workers must obtain a license from the MoHRE before proceeding with the recruitment process.
Employer Responsibilities Towards Domestic Workers
Employers are responsible for adhering to the UAE’s regulations when hiring domestic workers. This entails honouring the terms outlined in the employment contract and fulfilling various obligations, such as:
- Providing necessary facilities for the worker to carry out their duties efficiently
- Ensuring suitable accommodation
- Supplying meals and clothing as required
- Making timely payments of remuneration
- Offering medical care or health insurance coverage
- Respecting the worker’s rights and ensuring a safe working environment
Duties of Domestic Workers
Domestic workers are obligated to adhere to the terms specified in their employment contracts, as well as the following:
- Perform assigned tasks under the supervision of the employer and in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Maintain a high level of care and diligence in carrying out their responsibilities.
- Avoid absenteeism without a valid explanation.
- Respect the customs and traditions of the UAE community.
- Follow the employer’s instructions regarding the completion of agreed-upon tasks.
- Care for and responsibly manage personal belongings, following appropriate safety procedures for disposal when necessary.
- Respect the privacy of the workplace.
- Ensure that work tools and items are kept in designated locations within the workplace.
- Assist in emergencies or hazards that endanger the workplace and its occupants.
Which Categories Are Exempt from Regulation?

Are you a student who recently graduated from the UAE and is looking to sponsor your visa based on your academics? The Golden Visa issued by UAE is a long-term, renewable residence visa that enables you to stay in the country for a duration of 5 or 10 years, depending on the application category.
Students or graduates who excel in academics can apply for this visa. Khaleej Times spoke to an Amer agent to outline the application process for applicants in the UAE.

Am I eligible?
Applicants must apply for the Golden visa within the same emirate where their current visa was issued.
University graduates
Outstanding graduates of universities in the UAE
According to the UAE’s government portal, students of universities in the UAE may be granted a Golden visa for a period of 10 years, if:
- It has not been more than 2 years since graduation
- The university must be rated either A or B class by Ministry of Education
- A recommendation letter from the university or an accredited graduation certificate or an accredited academic record stating that the student’s cumulative GPA (CGPA) is no less than 3.5 for class A universities and no less than 3.8 for class B universities is submitted.
Outstanding graduates of foreign universities
According to the UAE’s government portal, students in foreign universities may be granted a Golden visa for a period of 10 years, if:
- Graduation certificate is accredited by the Ministry of Education
- The university is rated among the best 100 universities global according to the rating system recognized by Ministry of Education
- The student’s cumulative GPA is not less than 3.5
High school students
High school students are eligible for a Golden Visa of 5 years, if:
- The student is a national-level topper (with a minimum grade of 95 per cent in public or private secondary school)
- A recommendation letter from Ministry of Education (Emirates Schools Establishment) is submitted.
The Golden Visa is for a duration of 5 years, but may be extended if the student is enrolled in one of the majors or colleges in the country that requires a study period of more than 5 years.
How do I know if my university is rated A or B?
To know the university's classification, the applicant can access the university website, or contact their admin department.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, a Technical Support Specialist at Amer247 messaging platform said:
However, for applications through Amer, the classification is "specifically contingent upon the governing authority under which the educational institution" is based.
This classification can significantly influence the documents required.
The support specialist added: "Notably, for outstanding university students under KHDA, the school must liaise with KHDA for certificate attestation, followed by MOFA attestation, and the issuance of an equivalency certificate to conform with the mandatory Ministerial grading system, typically graded out of 4 or 5."
How do I apply?
Students can expect a faster process if they first receive ICP nomination approval and then visit an Amer centre. According to the Amer agent, the application process can indeed be "expedited and made more efficient" if the student obtains a UAE ICP nomination approval prior to visiting Amer, or utilises the GDRFA platform.
The agent said that the GPA threshold is set at 3.8 to "facilitate a seamless application process." However, certain universities in the UAE are categorized by ICP as exempt from the 3.8 benchmark.
Graduates from these universities can apply for the Golden visa with a GPA of 3.5 if they secure a nomination from ICP, he added.
