Princess Cruises announced its 2024-2025 sailing schedule for Australia and New Zealand, including the longest world voyage ever to sail from Australia.

Also announced is the deployment of 3 liners: Royal Princess and Crown Princess which will call Sydney NSW home; Diamond Princess will alternate between Brisbane - Melbourne .

Crown Princess ' 2025 World Cruise is the largest ever offered from Australia and includes 25+ UNESCO World Heritage Sites and 8 late-night stays. It spans 6 continents, and takes guests to Southeast Asia, across to the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, through the Panama Canal , and then via the South Pacific back to Australia. The voyage also visits 9 ports for the first time for a Princess ship.

In a first for the brand, among the season's 7 homeports is Hobart Tasmania (first time for a Princess ship). Other departure ports are Adelaide , Auckland NZ , and Fremantle/Perth .

Across the 3 ship sailings, they will visit 14 countries across 112 departures and 72 itineraries.

Princess launches 2023-2024 Australia & New Zealand programme  

Season includes the longest-ever world cruise from australia.

Princess Cruises has launched its 2023 to 2024 Australia and New Zealand programme, including the longest-ever world cruise from Australia.

On sale from 10pm on December 1, four ships – Coral Princess, Majestic Princess, Grand Princess and Royal Princess – will sail to 117 destinations in 43 countries across Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, Southeast Asia, Europe and South America.

Programme highlights include a 110-night world cruise onboard Coral Princess , departing April 30, 2024, from Sydney, and May 2, 2024, from Brisbane.

Departures will take place from six Australia and New Zealand homeports, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland.

There will be overnight stays in a number of destinations, including Tahiti and Cairns, as well as late-night stays in Auckland, Hong Kong, Honolulu, San Francisco, Tahiti and Vancouver.

Itineraries feature more than 14 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including The Gondwana Rainforests of Australia (from Port Douglas), the Greater Blue Mountains (from Sydney) and The Tasmanian Wilderness (from Burnie).

Two unique cruisetours include the Australian Outback, including a visit to Uluru National Park and the Great Barrier Reef; and Ultimate Australia, including Sydney, Uluru, Darwin, Cairns and the Greater Barrier Reef.

Guests booking onto the 110-night world cruise by April 30, 2022 will receive AUD$1,000 onboard credit per person.

Port Chalmers

The attractive, historic town and modern container port of Port Chalmers, on a tiny peninsula 12km from Dunedin, is worth a half-day trip for its magnificent harbour views offset by bush-covered hills, its fine nineteenth-century buildings and its thriving artistic community. The site was chosen in 1844 as the port to serve the proposed Scottish settlement of New Edinburgh, later called Dunedin. The first settlers arrived on the John Wickliffe in March 1848 and named the port after the Reverend Dr Thomas Chalmers.

Christchurch has a long historic connection with Antarctic exploration. It is from the port of Lyttleton (about 10 miles North of Christchurch) that Captain Scott sailed for Antarctica. Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand / Aotearoa. It is also the cultural, administrative and political center of the country. Everywhere you go, the sounds and smell of the ocean hang in the air, and green hills and valleys wrap you in a bear-hug embrace.

In 1931 a disastrous earthquake destroyed the city. The earthquake heaved 40 square kilometres of water covered land above sea level. With Napier being a coastal town there are a wide variety of water sports, fishing trips, pleasure cruises and also night cruises which are very popular. Other activities include windsurfing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing and parasailing - all available on the waterfront.
