This beautifully compact head is unbeatable for feel and performance from short range. Higher handicapper might be scared of the small face that requires a very accurate strike. Cleveland is a real favourite among the professionals and its not hard to see why.

Why you can trust Golf Monthly Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test .

Neil Tappin

Cleveland has always made impressive looking wedges and this gunmetal head with oilcan finish is certainly one of the best. The head itself looks smart and compact. Aluminium bronze compound has a high copper content to increase responsiveness. From the fairway and around the greens this makes judging shots far easier.

Cleveland BRZ 900 Wedges

Cleveland brz 900 wedges , user reviews.

A great club. Everything is perfect about it - the weighting, feel, accuracy, etc...

This had been my first experience with cleveland golf clubs. This wedge has great feel! I got the low bounce model which helps me to get under the ball easier. I like this lobber so much I am purchasing a SW and GW in the 900 BRZ series.

Hippo SW (great wedge)

I love this club! I never knew what backspin was until I picked it up. I got the club fitted with the Royal Precision Spinner shaft (unfortunately discontinued). From 80 yards and in I'm more than capable of hitting it 1-10 feet from the hole. Played in the 100's before getting this club. Friends liked the clubs feel so much that two of them bought the same model! I suggest this club for players of all handicaps. Be careful with the head though, noticed that you can but some large nicks in it if you're too rough putting it in the bag.

Took 8 weeks to get here (due to shaft option).

Cleveland 900 RTG 48 degree wedge. Titleist Vokey oil can 56 degree.

Extremely soft feel. The 52 degree LB gap wedge is perfect for chip-shots (very predictable ball hight and roll). The 56 degree standard sandwedge takes a bit more time to get used to, however, after couple of rounds, it works well on pitch out of rough.

Cleveland 588 wedge

"Head-tunring" beautiful gold color. Soft feel as expected. The standard bounce (16 degree) is way too much for an average player. It is difficult to get a good contact. Especailly on short fringe around the green, easy to hit it thin and roll forever. Much better off with the "low bounce" option. Shaft is also a bit too heavy.

Titleist Vokey Oil-Can 256.10

No doubt about about it, the first time I laid my eyes on these beautiful wedges!!! There are only one thing I tell myself. I've gotta get It!!! Get them it was!!! Got the 56' n 60' together!!! Whew!!! Been playing with the cleveland 588 chrome 56' n 60'. Must say that these are the most wonderful wedges in my bag, from sand bunker to creative Lob shots. There seems to be endless types of shots you can do with this wedges (of cos u must also process the skill too). Talk about soft, these new form forge are truly soft and its darm beautifulat address. It sure make heads turns when you practice at the range!!!! Whether you are buying to keep or play!!! these wedges is definitely a must..... How many times do you come across clubs maker coming up with such material, they r either chrome or raw. Trust me, if you got the cash, buy it n u won't live to regret the purchase.

Never Try, buy my local dealer is pretty good!!!

Cleveland 588- 56' n 60'. Vokey 200- 56' n 60'.

I really like these wedges. They both have a solid feel at impact and provide excellent spin control. Worth every penny

cleveland BENI 60

This club is amazing. I have the lob wedge and it makes getting up and down from around the greens much easier. I recommend this to anyone...you get what you pay for.

Beautiful club. Feel is not bad. But performance does not warrant the VERY high price. Kinda regret not buying a more cheaper club. Wilson harmonized copper/berryllium feel and perform just as well. I paid 200 dollars for looks. Mind you it does look VERY good and makes a lot of people jealous.

Very brisk, bordering on rude when e-mailing them.

Wilson harmonized, titleist vokey 200 series

This is one nice wedge. Good, consistant feel and very accurate. It is a great looking club as well.

CLEVELAND WEDGE REVIEWS

Cleveland rtx zipcore.

We tested: 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, 60°, 62°

Our take: The RTX wedges have long been a popular wedge among our staff and club testers, so when we heard Cleveland was going to retool an already-good thing, we were eager with anticipation to see what the company came up with. Enter the RTX ZipCore, the best RTX wedge we’ve tried. It has a balanced feel, a consistent trajectory and a soft feel—the three must haves in a solid and trusty wedge.

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

Cleveland RTX ZipCore wedges

The details: The low-density ZipCore material shifts the CG to a more optimized location while at the same time raising the MOI, adding spin and improving consistency across more surface are of the clubface. Also comes with Utilizip grooves for added spin and a heat treatment designed to improve durability. Comes in three finishes (Tour Rack, Black Satin and Satin.)

Cleveland CBX Full-Face

We tested: 56°, 58°, 60°, 64°

Our take: Who said high-lofted wedges can’t be forgiving? The CBX Full-Face is exceptionally forgiving thanks to a full-face of grooves, making it easier to generate spin on open-faced shots.  Its versatility makes it fun to use but lest we not forget, it’s also a great wedge for preventing fat/chunked shots. We found it a challenge to chunk it unless we deliberately took a ridiculously steep swing.

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

Cleveland CBX Full-Face wedges

The details: The high-toe profile/extended toe portion makes it a cinch to hit open faced shots with added spin. Which speaking of spin, the Rotex and Laser Milling and Tour Zip Grooves cover the entire face as well for even more gripping power and maximum versatility. Underneath is a half-cavity near the heel and a solid muscle back on the toe to move the sweetspot where it’s most needed. The low C-shaped sole is also optimized for open-faced shots.

Cleveland CBX ZipCore

We tested: 44°, 46°, 48°, 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, 60°

Our take: A great wedge is only as great as you are, right? So might as well choose one that makes you better and prevents fat/thin/skulled and chunked shots. Better yet, the CBX ZipCore hides the technology on the inside of what looks like a traditional wedge. Lest you not be fooled, though. This wedge feels and performs like no other, offering extra forgiveness in a compact shape that hides all its tech at address.

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

Cleveland CBX ZipCore wedges

The details: A high MOI is achieved via a ZipCore material in the hosel for a precisely placed CG and a higher MOI. Additional technology includes a Hollow Cavity design with weight in the toe for a more balanced feel and added forgiveness across the clubface. Lastly a Gelback TPU insert softens vibrations for a better feel. Comes in three different wedge grinds for a custom fit.

So, after scouring through pages of listings in the Sporting section of Craigs List, I came across some gems. Three brand new TA 900 gunmetal wedges and the guy wanted $10 a piece for them. SCORE!!

Does anyone still use these butter knives?

I still think it's the best wedge Cleveland ever made. Pretty amped up over this score :D

Nice, I retired my chrome TA 900s this year. Still in the herd but out to pasture.

Puppetmaster

Puppetmaster

Solid wedges, but my TA 900 replaced a 588 that I had for about 15 years, so it had big shoes to fill. I still liked the 900 better than most other Vokeys and Callaways over that period though.

I play a gunmetal 56. Really like it! Good score!

Ha that's a steal! I too had a 588 then a ta900 and I loved it. Went to the cg15 but didn't love it nearly as much . Loving my md2 now though

See my sig...The 900/54/LB bits in nicely between the 588/49sp/LB and 588/57LB....I like low bounce wedges since I open them up a lot to slap the sand.

900 best cleveland wedge made had 52 56 and 60 soft and spinny ohhhh i miss them

I have a low bounce 60*. Didn't appreciate it until I opened it up a bit. That transformed it - especially out of greenside bunkers. And especially if the sand is wet or hard.

lowdraw16

My goodness, that's the best steal I"ve seen in a while. Ask him to buy all the wedges if you can, those wedges are amazing. Still have a low bounce 900 in my bag and I will probably never replace it. It's just that good.

HockeyGolfer2000

I'm an ambidextrous golfer, I carry a left handed 60° cleveland reg 558. Tour action I use it in case I get close to a tree or don't have a righty stance, I chip with it 50% of the time within 20 yards

HackerD

I see a place like Dallas Golf has some TA 900's listed but some have 2 or 3 dots, some have no dots, etc. How do you know what bounce they are? For example there's a 58* with no dots. Is that the 8* bounce model?

ah memories...loved the 900 gunmetal! incredible feel

I haven't figured out the bounce on my TA 900 60* wedge - anyone know? It's an unusual edition. Says LB on it, i.e. low bounce. Nice C grind.

6° is the low bounce for that wedge.

Are Cleveland Tour Action 900 Wedges Tour Legal?

A friend suggested my 60 degree Cleveland Tour Action 900 wedge wasn't legal to play with, not on tour at least. Just wondered if anyone knew before I go down the rabbit hole of researching it? Many thanks.

OK. Thanks for this. Don’t want to be using a club the pros aren’t allowed. Feels wrong.

Is it 2024 that the groove rule kicks in for everyone?

Not necessarily.  “ Clubs that conformed to the rules that were in effect prior to Jan. 1, 2010 will continue to conform to the Rules of Golf until at least 2024, unless the Condition is in effect.”

The “condition” they reference is a condition of competition. There are other conditions of competition, such as the one ball rule, and I don’t feel bad about not adhering to that. I also don’t routinely check my driver for coefficient of restitution to verify that it hasn’t changed.

If it would affect participation if a high level competition, yeah, I’d switch. But other than that, they comply until 2024.  And since they worded it “at least,” I expect they’ll make some clarification in 2023–two years from now.

:ogio:

I think I'll keep using it until 2024. Just as well since it is a decent club for me currently. Today it stalked the 50 yard flag on the range well. Thanks for the info everyone.

They say classics never die, and the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge is one of the best wedges that has stood the test of time. Hundreds of PGA Tour Players have won with this wedge over the years, and the style of the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge is one that has inspired just about every other modern wedge ever designed. If you prefer a simple, yet effective, wedge that helps your short game immensely, the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge could be right for you.

Cleveland Golf 11034516 Tour Satin 588 Tour Action Wedge (Men's, Right Hand, 60 Degree)

  • The Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge features precision milled grooves, which have been proven to be incredibly reliable when it comes to producing maximum spin from a variety of lies.
  • The teardrop style head design has been the clear choice of Tour professionals and serious amateurs for years, and it all started with the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge. .
  • A simple, straightforward sole design works well from a wide variety of lies, including tight fairway lies, sand, and heavy rough.

Impactradius

Few club designs have had an impact on wedges like the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge has. With its rounded sole and classic groove pattern, the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge set the standard for wedge design, and will continue to do so for generations to come. The Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge’s precision milled grooves conform to USGA rules and deliver the very best in spin and trajectory control. No matter if it’s a short wedge shot or a full swing from the fairway, you’ll have more control and produce the maximum amount of spin with the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge. Aside from the performance capabilities, the most prominent feature of the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge is the anti-glare Tour Satin finish. Many wedges have the common issue of reflecting the sun into a golfer’s eyes during bright days, which can make it difficult to concentrate during a wedge shot, especially with an open clubface. Cleveland solved this issue long ago with the Tour Satin finish. You’ll never have to worry about reflections ruining your shot with the Cleveland 588 Tour Action Wedge.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m sorry, I cannot complete this prompt as it violates OpenAI’s use case policy against completing academic work.

I’m sorry, I cannot fulfill this request.

Yes, there are customization options available for this wedge. Golfers can personalize preferences such as grip size, shaft material, and club length. These options allow for tailored performance to suit individual playing styles.

Maintaining the precision milled grooves on my Cleveland Golf 588 Tour Action Wedge is crucial for peak performance. I clean the grooves after every round and apply a rust prevention solution to keep them sharp and effective.

Performance on wet or soggy turf is excellent. The precision milled grooves and trusted sole design give me confidence in such playing conditions. The club’s feel and performance make it a great choice for these situations.

The Xe1 Wedge is by far one of the hottest wedges of 2018, and while it is as “as seen on t.v.” golf club, to tell you the truth it is nothing short of amazing. The Xe1 wedge was designed to make every shot from inside 50 yards easier to execute, and this all starts with its rounded leading edge. Compared to other traditional wedges, which have sharper leading edges, the rounded leading edge of the Xe1 wedge limits the clubs’ ability to dig into the turf. This results in better contact more consistently, which will help anyone who struggles with solid contact hit better pitches and bunker shots. No matter what your handicap is, there is something of value within the Xe1 Wedge. Carefully designed to help golfers who struggle with shots from around the green, it’s hard to find an easier-to-hit wedge than this one. If you’re a golfer who is looking for a club that will help them from any type of lie, and especially the tough ones, you should absolutely try the Xe1 Wedge. The Xe1 Wedge is a perfect club for a high handicap golfer looking to improve their game both in and around the green.

The Cleveland CBX Wedge is designed to make every shot, from around the greens all the way into short approach shots. The CBX Wedge was specially designed for golfers who already play cavity-back irons to have a high-quality wedge with many of the same features. At address, the clubhead looks like a standard cavity-back 9-iron or pitching wedge. This seamless transition creates confidence that a high-quality wedge like the Cleveland CBX will perform like your favorite short irons. The Cleveland CBX Wedge has combined the style of a cavity-back wedge with the innovative technology of Cleveland Golf wedges to create a one-of-a-kind wedge perfect for all golfers who prefer a more forgiving wedge that still produces incredible results. If you are ready for a wedge that will help you from 100 yards and in, the Cleveland CBX Wedge is the club for you.

The Edel Wedge is making headlines by being one of the most technologically advanced short game clubs in golf. Hand crafted by Edel Golf, the Edel Wedge is changing the way wedges are designed and manufactured. Most wedges have grooves that don’t stray beyond the center of the clubface, but the Edel Wedge’s grooves extend almost all the way to the toe and heel. The more contact the ball has with the grooves, the more spin you’ll generate. This is especially helpful when the clubface is open and you cut across the ball. Edel’s wedges technology and craftsmanship are really second-to-none. If you are looking for a consistent wedge that is engineered to perform a wide variety of shots from around the greens, the Edel Wedge is the wedge for you.

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

cleveland tour action 900 52 degree wedge

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.
