Ohio is a thriving state with a rich youth baseball history. As the state continues to grow, more and more teams are needed to fill the demand for travel baseball. Here at Select Baseball Teams, we have worked hard to comprise one of the most comprehensive lists of Ohio travel baseball teams looking for players . As with any youth sport, travel baseball is growing at a rapid rate with new teams and organizations being formed daily. With that, we work hard to keep our list current and our goal is to make sure we are adding new travel baseball teams regularly. Ohio Elite Baseball was founded in 2008 and since then, over 550 players have gone onto play college baseball, across all levels (JUCO, NAIA, D1,2,3), earning millions of dollars in scholarship money.  Our coaches all work extremely hard to establish and maintain relationships with college coaches. 

Our teams train and practice together during the off-season and regular season.  We place emphasis on the right things - learning how to become a good teammate and playing the game the right way - developing a high baseball IQ so that when you get to the next level (high school or college) you are ready to make an impact! 

The Ohio Elite Baseball organization seeks players and families who are committed to teamwork, personal development, and competitive travel baseball. Our teams look for talented players and parents who place an importance on character, faith, and family values. The Ohio Elite Organization wants players that have the desire to compete with the best against the best.

Ohio Elite Baseball

Thank you for your interest in the Ohio Elite Baseball Program.

We will be conducting tryouts for qualified candidates for the 2024 season towards the end of the summer.  Dates and times will start being posted after the July 4th holiday weekend. 

The organization is managed by President Kelly Ratcliff, Vice President Rob McNerney and Special Advisor Chris Kaczmar.

The club is always looking to identify highly qualified candidates for all age groups that are Elite baseball players that are coachable, confident, hard working, and love to have fun learning and playing baseball that come from value-based, outgoing, kind, enthusiastic and supportive families.

Candidates must pre-register for tryouts.  Private tryouts may be available if the below listed dates do not work for qualified candidates.  Contact Rob McNerney or Kelly Ratcliff to request  a private date.  Please include all pertinent player information, links to video and references. 

The Ohio Elite Baseball organization is based upon a shared philosophy of our founder Kelly Ratcliff and our players, coaches, and parents. First, we will focus on player development and showcasing their skills and talents to college coaches and professional scouts. Second, and more importantly, we will help the boys mature into responsible young men and teach life lessons through the game of baseball. Ohio Elite teams and players are expected to conduct themselves in a first-class manner, both on and off of the field. Our organization will continually stress good character, sportsmanship and the importance of respecting the game. The Ohio Elite Baseball organization wants players that have the desire to compete with the best against the best.

Once registration is available you will notice that there are 5 different locations for you to choose from, depending on where you live:

Ohio Elite WEST (serving western Ohio)

Ohio Elite NORTH (serving Cleveland/Akron)

Ohio Elite EAST (serving Youngstown)

Ohio Elite CENTRAL (serving Columbus)

Ohio Elite SOUTH (serving Cincinnati, Dayton)

Please be sure you select the correct one.

Please also be aware, the age group you are looking for, may not have a team in your area.  For example, you are from Toledo, and are 15 years old, our WEST operations may not have that age group, so be sure you select NORTH, CENTRAL, etc. based on your desires.

ALL teams play in high level events and travel throughout the region.

Ohio elite north tryout information.

2024 OEB North (Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Toledo) Tryout Information.  Please note players only need to attend one tryout.  You MUST pre-register by completing the above registration.  High school  aged players must try out  for  their graduation year - not their age.   

Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled time.  Players should wear baseball clothing, have the proper safety equipment and have their own glove, bat, etc.

Started in Licking County, Ohio in 1992, we are one of the oldest, continuous running travel baseball organizations in central Ohio.  We pride ourselves in being an organization that develops young men into good teammates, sportsmen, and players all while learning to play the game of baseball at a high level and with high integrity for the game.    

With many of our players committed to playing baseball at the collegiate level, all of our high school age teams compete in the most heavily scouted events.  Each year we send young men to the next level with 11 players off of last years 2019 squad committing to D1, D2, D3, or Junior College level baseball.    

Our longevity and annual success is in no small part due to the oversight of each team and coaching staff by our board of directors.  We maintain stringent policy standards to ensure fairness and equity among the teams and families that are part of the Athletics Baseball organization.

Championships

Ohio Wildcats Baseball

The Ohio Wildcats Baseball Organization began in Fall of 2016.  We created a fall team for 14u and competed in the SSBL travel league.  We took 2nd place in a tournament that season as well as won our league.  In 2017 we returned the core group of players and also added an additional age group with our 10u team.  Our 10u team had a great season that year capping it off with a tournament championship in Barberton.  Also in 2018 our 16u team finished as Runner-up in 2 tournaments as well as winning the travel league.  In 2019 we had another awesome year with our teams making deep runs in tournaments.  Our 11u team won the Bowen tournament in Jackson and our 17u finished as runner-up in an 18u tournament as we were playing an age group up.  2020 was a fantastic year for our program with 5 teams that won several championships.  We also opened our indoor facility in which all of our players have 24/7 access to.  2021-present have been our best years yet.  All age groups have won multiple tournaments.  Our organization is about hard work, dedication to the game, and player development.

REGISTER WITH OPL

The Ohio Prospects League will be ending registration on Tuesday, February 20th.  If you wish to play in the OPL, please click on the 2024 Team Registration Form and complete and submit.

We will take teams after Feb 20th, but you must email [email protected] if you wish to enter after Feb 20.

We have welcomed and are continuing to welcome teams from the NEOBL.  If you have played in the NEOBL, please make sure to fill out the 2024 Team Registration Form.  This is required to play in the OPL.  We will have OPL East divisions from 11u - 14u.

2024 Ohio Prospects League

The OPL is taking registrations for the 2024 season.   The desire is to match talent levels in each age division of the OPL.  So we will have a Major division, Minor AAA division for middle teams, and now a Community (Plus) division.  The Community (Plus) division is for lower level developmental teams. 

This will now open up our league for all teams in Northeast Ohio to join!   All teams that apply are accepted into the league.  The league accepts teams from Cuyahoga, Geauga , Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark , Summit counties. If you have any questions email John Mengelkamp at  [email protected]  or Dominic C. Are You Looking To Play On A 2024 OPL 18U-16U-15U-14U-13U-12U-11U-10U Team

There are many benefits for players to be playing in the Ohio Prospects League. By being in a league, you are guaranteed games during the week.  Non-league teams tend to cancel games or not schedule games during the week.   In the southern U.S., baseball is played year around so players are playing 100+ games in a year.  In a cold weather locale such as Cleveland, it is important to take advantage of the summer months and play baseball.  Our league is about top competition and improving skills with weekday games to go along with weekend tournaments.

For New Teams, or for Individual Teams Returning To The League From The   2023  Season, Please  Fill- Out A  2024 Team Registration Form.     There are no league fees collected by filling out the OPL Team Registration Form (league fees are collected in Nov-Jan).   Your team will declare to play in the Major, Minor, or Community (Plus) division and declare to play East, West, or South.
