In 2016, BLACKPINK took its first steps toward K-pop greatness. Thanks to YG Entertainment, members Kim Jisoo, Jennie Kim, Roseanne Park, and Lalisa Manobal joined together to create what would become one of the most popular girl groups in South Korean music.

BLACKPINK’s talents in hip-hop and dance-pop helped the all-female squad get ahead early.

BLACKPINK kicked things off with its album Square One. Featuring songs “Whistle” and “Boombayah,” Square One reinvented typical K-pop elements with an edgier trap-style energy. Eventually, this would become BLACKPINK’s signature sound.

“Whistle” and “Boombayah” left lasting impressions not only in South Korea, but in the U.S. as well. Following its swift climb up the charts, BLACKPINK released Square Two in late 2016. Square Two was a massive success thanks to the tracks “Playing with Fire” and “Stay.” Soon enough, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to land on the Canadian music charts.

The group’s next single “As If It’s Your Last” hit the airwaves in 2017 and paved the way for a stellar Japanese debut. The group’s self-titled EP included re-recorded Japanese versions of previous songs. After soaring to the top of Japan’s charts, the group followed up in 2018 with Re:BLACKPINK, a re-release of the EP which included both Korean- and Japanese-language versions of each track.

BLACKPINK’s rise took the ultimate turn with its 2018 EP Square Up. International hit single “DDU-DU DDU-DU” was the perfect example of high-energy “K-trap.” The song’s accompanying music video became one of the most-watched K-pop videos on YouTube, with over one billion views. It was no surprise the track also landed BLACKPINK a coveted spot on the Billboard Hot 100, a first for any all-female K-pop group.

The band’s worldwide popularity shifted as they sealed a deal with Interscope/Universal. Later in 2018, a highly-anticipated collaboration alongside popstar and label partner Dua Lipa on “Kiss and Make Up” set BLACKPINK up for more global success. After the song left a memorable mark on the U.S. and U.K. charts, the girl group released another Japanese-language compilation titled BLACKPINK in Your Area.

In 2019, the K-pop quartet expanded its discography with another top-notch EP. Kill This Love set the tone for the band’s upcoming worldwide debut. BLACKPINK’s next single “How You Like That” was its seventh track to climb high on the global charts, proving the band was an international force to be reckoned with.

In addition to Dua Lipa, the group worked closely with pop phenoms like Lady Gaga on “Sour Candy” and Selena Gomez on “Ice Cream.” By securing these collabs, the K-pop band set the standard for their full-length debut.

Due to long-lasting success, BLACKPINK embarked on numerous tours. A string of arena performances from 2018 to 2020 spanned across the globe and kept the band’s popularity at an all-time high. Dedicated fans saw the all-female quartet up close and personal as it put on a must-see show.

2020’s The Album was BLACKPINK’s first full-length studio album, with eight high-energy tracks – including “Bet You Wanna,” featuring rapper Cardi B. With this collaboration and more dance-pop vibes, The Album cemented next-level acclaim among fans and fellow musicians. The LP took well-deserved top spots in countries like South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.

BLACKPINK’s sophomore album Born Pink took the world by storm in 2022. No one could deny its power, especially after the release of lead single “Pink Venom.” Other favorites like “Shut Down” helped Born Pink set more records for the K-pop genre. In its first week, the LP hit number one in the U.S.

Live reviews

The concert was more than I ever imagined! I love the group, I love the girls, I love the songs and dances!!! The experience was unforgettable beacuse I enjoy listening to their music nonstop and now i saw and heard all songs live! I am so lucky!

But my experience before the concert was a disaster... The thibgs started with the endless queue for merchedinse. I waited for two hours and in the end they told me the lightsticks were sold out? That was so disappointing for me and all people in the queue. Also, yes it was long queue but there were not ever a barricades or anything to keep the lines from queue passing!!! So many people just came and went in the front adn nobody can say anything because they do not have proofe.

Another thing, when the doors opened at 18:30-18:40 nobody entered because the crawd( it was not even a queue) was not even moving a meter! Then the concert started 40mins later because the entering was not orgainsed at all! I am absolutely disappointed by the organisation but at least I tried my best to enjoy the show and one of my favourite groups!

Wow this concert was absolutely amazing. It’s so much better than I expected. I knew it was going to be great but wow... it was amazing. The atmosphere of the concert was outstanding. Even when they just put music videos on at the start everyone was screaming to them. The girls were so nice and were very interactive with the audience. My dad who doesn’t like Kpop enjoyed the concert as well. I’d really recommend seeing this concert.

Omg this show in london was amazing. The energy and atmosphere stay alive all night making the concert fun all the way through. each member did so well as well as jennie, the videos of her being lazy completely cancel out as she was energetic the whole night. they interact with the audience and not just sing and dance. They are so cute and make it enjoyable all the way through. Jisoo is also the cutest thing ever you have to see her live

Blackpink Announces ‘Born Pink’ Tour Dates, Plots Largest World Tour in the History of a K-Pop Girl Group

By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

Blackpink are launching into their comeback era at full speed with the announcement of Born Pink , the 36-date world tour that aims to be the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group,” according to the pop phenomenon’s management company YG Entertainment. They also announced the release date for their upcoming LP, also named Born Pink . The album arrives on Sept. 16.

The expansive tour will launch on Oct. 15 in Seoul before Blackpink makes their way to Dallas and Houston. November will see the group performing in Atlanta, Hamilton, Chicago, Newark, Los Angeles, and London before making December stops in Barcelona, Cologne, Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam.

Blackpink recently made their musical return with “ Pink Venom ,” their first official single since the release of The Album in 2020. After some time holed up in the studio, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will release their sophomore album ahead of the tour launch, getting back into the flow of stardom.

“I love to perform, but I don’t always enjoy being part of the spotlight,” Jisoo shared in Blackpink’s candid Rolling Stone cover story . “I think it’s different for the other members: They love to receive the spotlight, feeling energized by the people who come to see us, and then getting a bit depressed when the stage is over and silence arrives. I’m a little different. When I’m onstage, I think about not making mistakes. Performing sometimes feels more like a test than something genuinely fun.”

Ticket details for BLACKPINK’s Jakarta concerts released, venue still listed as GBK Stadium

An Indonesian minister last said that FIFA will decide if BLACKPINK can perform in the arena next year

BLACKPINK

Ticket details for BLACKPINK ’s upcoming ‘Born Pink World Tour’ concerts in Jakarta have been revealed.

  • READ MORE: BLACKPINK – ‘Born Pink’ review: K-pop titans consolidate their identity

Concert promoter iMe Indonesia disclosed the information via a graphic posted to their social media accounts, which notably lists Gelora Bung Karno Stadium as the venue where the performances will take place, despite ongoing uncertainties in light of Jakarta’s upcoming hosting gig for the U-20 World Cup.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by iMe ID (@ime_indonesia)

Tickets for the concert will be available in four seated categories besides “platinum” and “VIP” passes – Cat 1 seats will sell for IDR2,900,000, Cat 2 seats will sell for IDR2,600,000, Cat 3 seats will be available for IDR2,100,000, while Cat 4 can be purchased for IDR1,350,000.

“VIP” and “Platinum” pass holders will occupy the standing pit, with the former entitled to closest proximity to the stage, alongside a soundcheck pass – materialised as a lanyard and identification card – and early entry benefits.

Blink Membership presales will open today (November 14) between 2PM and 5PM WIT. Public sales for the March 11 concert will commence on November 15 at 12PM WIT, whereas public sales for the March 12 concert will commence on the same day at 2PM WIT.

On November 2, Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sport Zainudin Amali expressed that the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium would be closed to public events – including concerts and even football matches – between its upcoming renovation period and the commencement of the U-20 World Cup on May 20 next year. Regarding BLACKPINK’s concerts, the minister stressed that the group would “certainly not” be allowed to perform at the venue.

Recommended

Minister Amali later elaborated on his stance , stating that he had submitted queries to FIFA regarding events scheduled to take place at venues reserved for the U-20 World Cup, stating: “If FIFA allows it, please go ahead. But if they do not, that is not on me. Therefore, activities not related to the World Cup are still not allowed, including the AFF (Asean Football Federation), even though it is a football activity.”

Neither FIFA nor the Indonesian Government have provided official updates on the state of public events scheduled at U-20 World Cup venues before May 20.

BLACKPINK released their sophomore studio album, ‘Born Pink’ in September. Awarding the album three stars, NME’s Tanu I. Raj praised the album’s experimental sensibilities, stating: “Now that BLACKPINK seem to have whetted their appetite for experimentation, let’s hope they go all the way on the next record – flip the script completely, propelled by the confidence that no matter what they do, they’ll come out on top.”

The album’s supporting world tour will see the group making several stops in Asia , including performances in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Kaohsiung, Manila, Singapore and more.

BLACKPINK's Jennie spotted attending SEVENTEEN TOUR ‘FOLLOW' AGAIN TO SEOUL

O n April 27, 2024, BLACKPINK's Jennie was spotted attending the SEVENTEEN TOUR 'FOLLOW AGAIN' TO SEOUL held at Seoul World Cup Stadium. She was accompanied by friends, including Lee Hojung, Yang Hyeji, and Alison. The concert was organized and hosted by Pledis Entertainment and HYBE.

CARATs attending SEVENTEEN's concert spotted the BLACKPINK member in the stadium, who was seen cheering for the members with her friends. They captured the female singer having fun at the concert and uploaded the video on social media, which soon went viral among the fans. They could not stop gushing over the SEVENTEEN and Jennie's cordial bond.

(Twitter Translation: Jenny in the Middle?)

BLACKPINK's Jennie was reportedly spotted capturing the SEVENTEEN's concert with her phone

In the viral videos, BLACKPINK's Jennie reportedly wore a light blue t-shirt styled with black wide-leg pants and a scarf. She covered herself with a cap and had black sunglasses over it. She was reportedly using her phone to capture the moments from SEVENTEEN's TOUR 'FOLLOW' AGAIN TO SEOUL and dancing to the beats of the music.

While Lee Hojung, Yang Hyeji, and Alison were spotted waving lightsticks, the BLACKPINK member enthusiastically made exciting gestures hinting that she was enjoying the concert. Meanwhile, in other viral photos, she could be seen waving her hands while carrying a wide smile. The female singer seemingly enjoyed her time at the SEVENTEEN TOUR 'FOLLOW' AGAIN TO SEOUL.

BLACKPINK's Jennie had previously reposted SEVENTEEN's Woozi's Instagram story, where the male idol showcased support for her latest collaboration with Zico for his digital single SPOT! In the story update, Woozi captioned his post, "This duo is crazy."

In response, Jennie reposted Woozi's update and captioned her Instagram story, "I'm looking forward to Maestro ." Maestro is the title track of SEVENTEEN's comeback album, 17 is Right Here , which will be released on April 29, 2024.

With BLACKPINK's Jennie attending SEVENTEEN's concert and Woozi openly supporting the former's solo endeavor, both BLINKS and CARATs were surprised by their unexpected interaction. They were delighted to see their budding friendship and wondered if the female singer had been friends with the group for a long time.

Since Jennie has not decided to renew her individual contract with YG Entertainment in December 2023, the idol has launched her own record label, ODDATELIER. Unlike, in the past, when she was allegedly bound by YG Entertainment's rules of not attending concerts of other artists, she is no longer obliged to follow them due to her non-renewal of her solo contract.

As a result, fans were witnessing more frequent interactions between BLACKPINK members and non-YG artists. With her attending SEVENTEEN's concert, many even wished to see her backstage interaction with the Pledis Entertainment group and for a selca.

The setlist for SEVENTEEN TOUR 'FOLLOW' AGAIN TO SEOUL includes the following tracks:

Intro Video

  • SUPER (With The8-Led Dance Break)
  • Don Quixote
  • Don't Wanna Cry (New Outro)
  • F*ck My Life

ATEEZ’s 2024 World Tour Ticket Prices Shock Fans

world tour blackpink schedule

After successfully making history as the first K-Pop boy group to perform at the Coachella music festival, ATEEZ announced their highly anticipated 2024 ATEEZ WORLD TOUR [TOWARDS THE LIGHT : WILL TO POWER] IN NORTH AMERICA, which will kick off on July 14 in Tacoma, WA.

world tour blackpink schedule

ATINYs have discovered one trusted source through Gas South District ‘s website, as ATEEZ’s Atlanta date is on July 31 at Gas South Arena in Duluth, GA. If you click on the seating chart, you’ll see the arrangement as well as ticket prices for each section.

New updated chart for ATEEZ at Gas south in Duluth 👀 same prices but extended stage added thankfully #ateez #TowardsTheLight #Will_To_Power https://t.co/v54gMgdMEN pic.twitter.com/ip03MFrIxa — Kpop Community in Atl (@KpopxAtlanta) April 24, 2024

The prices range from $105.07 to $738.70 USD, without fees. The highest-priced ticket is for VIP 1. ATINYs were left shocked by the ticket prices and concerned about how much their total would be.

whats crazy is that their vips are more than enhypen AND txt…. vip1 better include hitouch or a group photo plus send off and soundcheck cause aint no way $740 is for soundcheck only pic.twitter.com/GwiuKMYXWi — ⁷ (@bambamstrash) April 23, 2024
@02econds WHAT IS LITERALLY GOING ON WITH THESE TICKETS?! MY MENTAL CANT HANDLE THIS ANYMORE #atinys #ateez_official_ #02econds #ateez #ateezworldtour #ateeztour2024 #ateezticketprices #greenscreen ♬ original sound – 0:02s

ATINYs joked about the potential VIP benefits one must receive to warrant such an expensive price. Some proposed it should include personal one-on-one interactions with an ATEEZ member.

For these prices I better be sitting in the chairs for cyberpunk pic.twitter.com/WF9FhGFNV4 — bre〜★⁷ met mingi (T ^ T) (@SmolBangtanXx) April 24, 2024
For everyone confused on the VIP tiers and ticket pricing I emailed Gas South about the VIP packages and here’s what they had to say!!! pic.twitter.com/eeRAg5zcLm — THATS MY ATEEZ (@twilightskat) April 24, 2024

According to Gas South, VIP1 includes VIP Check-in and entry, first early access to the GA floor, sound check, send-off, limited edition gift, VIP laminate and lanyard, and early access to merchandise, while VIP2 includes nearly everything but send-off and early access to merchandise. The tickets include no Meet & Greet.

Screen Shot 2024-04-24 at 1.03.08 PM

Naturally, ATINYs are disappointed by the news. The tickets have only increased in price since previous tours. Yet, now the VIP tickets have even fewer benefits.

you guys want me to pay $700-$1000 without even being guaranteed barricade 😭when these were my past views for way less? paid $130 paid $481 pic.twitter.com/OlBnXm9XLV — ☆ 윤호‘s Tara ☆ (@yunhosfloweer) April 24, 2024
remember when ateez first tour was $121 for vip with hi touch 🥹 pic.twitter.com/EHp4xjUJVb — ⁷ (@bambamstrash) April 24, 2024

ATINYs are reminiscing over ATEEZ North American tours of the past. VIP tickets were over half the cost of this year’s. Some paid just over $100 USD for VIP, including interactions with members, which is now the price of the cheapest, most basic concert ticket.

you guys want me to pay $800 without even being guaranteed barricade 😭 when these were my past views for way less? paid $250 paid $370 pic.twitter.com/po45hRWRGU — 🪷 sangwoo’s gf ♡⁺¹ (@lovelyyungi) April 24, 2024
We used to be a proper society … pic.twitter.com/FF6eoQEUo2 — Nini 🍉🇷🇪⭐️ (@moonjoonghwa) April 23, 2024
I just think it’s crazy that this is how much I paid to be barricade at the last Ateez tour pic.twitter.com/ggSh78Uwrw — ness (@plantedherb) April 24, 2024

ATINYs also can’t help but compare the North American ticket prices to ATEEZ’s for other locations, such as South Korea. Yet, knowing how much it costs to travel besides the increase in Visa fees , it shouldn’t be a surprise that the North American tour costs as much as it does.

the way tickets in korea were like $200 and we have to pay $800 pic.twitter.com/Po69vPjBM0 — ⋆ (@imyunhoo) April 23, 2024

Many ATINYs fear for this tour after seeing the alleged prices of tickets. Some are now questioning whether to go or not. What do you think? Will you still attend 2024 ATEEZ WORLD TOUR [TOWARDS THE LIGHT : WILL TO POWER] IN NORTH AMERICA ?

At age 18, the North Carolina-based producer and songwriter burst onto the scene with a complex, bombastic brand of electro-house. Following the major success of his 2014 debut album Worlds , Porter released the RIAA Gold single “Shelter” with Madeon in 2016, followed by a Shelter Live Tour spanning 43 dates and four continents. The following year, Porter began releasing music under a new alias, Virtual Self, which led to his first Grammy nomination for the BBC Radio 1 hit single “Ghost Voices.” In 2019, Porter put on the first Second Sky Festival, which sold out all 30,000 tickets for the two-day festival in a single day. In both 2020 and 2021, Porter Robinson hosted editions of his virtual festival Secret Sky, amassing over 6 million viewers combined, and which came to be regarded as the most sophisticated virtual festivals of its time. Later in 2021, following the release of sophomore album Nurture, Second Sky Festival made its return to the Bay Area, selling out 40,000 tickets in a single day. Immediately following, the Nurture Live North American Tour sold over 150,000 concert tickets and was the highest grossing electronic tour of 2021. In 2022, in partnership with Riot Games, Robinson released “Everything Goes On” surpassing 100 million global streams . Later that year was his debut of one of two exclusive full live band performances, first at Second Sky 2022 and again in 2023 at the Coachella Main Stage.
