Why plan a customer visit?

Jason Lemkin, the founder of SaaStr and EchoSign, has said “ I never lost a customer I actually visited. ” That’s a bold statement — one that's worth taking note of. But why? What is it about customer visits that has such a big impact on customer loyalty?

First of all, you get to make a stronger impression with your customers. No matter what you sell, you aren’t just selling a product — you’re also selling the people behind it.

Your vision, your passion, your knowledge are all play into the perceived value of your product or service. All of these elements come across more strongly when you visit in person. A Zoom call just isn’t enough time to go deep.

Secondly, you get to see how your customers are using your product in person. Are they constantly printing out reports to pin up on a wall? Are you seeing teams walk across the sales floor to point out something on a screen? What kind of working environment and equipment do they have? What other types of software are they using?

Everything happening behind the scenes paints a much clearer picture of who your customers are. And when it comes time to renew or jump on that next customer success call, you’ll have a lot more knowledge ready to draw on.

Finally, meeting your customers in person is a huge motivational boost! When you’re behind a screen for so long, it can start to feel like what you do doesn’t matter — or that you’re not making any real connections. But a visit to a customer’s office can change all that, and really light up your idea of “why” you do this at all.

5 Potential Goals of Your Customer Visit

Going into a customer visit with goals in mind will help you get the most out of your time there. Here are five goals to consider when planning a customer visit:

1. Understanding Their Business Goals

If you’re visiting a client, you’re likely hoping for a long term relationship. Understanding what their future goals are can help align your product with their needs. These in-depth conversations would rarely come up over a quick phone call.

2. Gathering Feedback

Customer visits provide a unique opportunity to gather honest and in-the-moment insight into what your customers need and want. When you sit next to someone who uses your product in their daily work, there’s a lot more space to have this feedback arise. And documenting it for future sales opportunities and your product team is one of the more productive actions you can take during a customer visit.

3. Referrals

In-person visits are a great time to ask for and give referrals. Ask, “Are there any other companies that you work with that you could see our product being helpful for?” Alternatively, if a pain point is mentioned by the client and you know the perfect company to help solve it, don’t be afraid to build that connection. It’s just another way you can bring value to your customers.

4. Uncovering Opportunities for Cross-Selling or Upselling

While your primary objective shouldn’t be pitching your offering at every opportunity, you might uncover a problem that your product or service can help solve. Noting these potential value-adds can make for more effective, thoughtfully targeted upsell and cross-sell conversations.

5. Testimonials and Case Studies

Customer visits can be a unique source of sales content, including pictures for case studies, video testimonials, and strong evidence-based customer stories. If you plan on making this one of your primary goals, consider asking your client to set the stage for these kinds of materials before you visit so you already know who you’ll be speaking to, before coming onsite.

How to Plan an Onsite Customer Meeting

By putting more effort in before you go, you’ll have a much better chance of achieving your goals and impressing your clients. Here are some key actions to consider when planning your customer meeting.

Thoroughly prepare before the visit.

Before you arrive, make sure you’re up to date on the state of the customer's account. Who are they usually talking to at your company? What customer service tickets have they raised lately? Are there outstanding issues that need to be addressed? These will come up during your visit.

Secondly, understand the current ecosystem your customer is working within. Is your customer in the news? What’s happening in their industry? What threats and opportunities are arising in their business? Being prepared and knowledgeable about their inner workings will make a better impression than coming in blind.

Decide who you’re meeting with.

Start by setting up a meeting with relevant company leadership. That could be the CEO, the founders, or the VP of the functional team you're working with — depending on the company's scale. Bear in mind, while this contact might be the "reason" for your visit, they're probably not who you'll be spending the most time with.

Once you have a meeting scheduled with the company's leadership, plan the rest of your day around meeting with the team leaders and employees using your product — as well as any teams that are open to signing up or expanding the current seat count or contract scope.

Make dinner reservations for you and your clients.

Traditionally, a customer visit includes taking your client out for a nice dinner as a token of appreciation. It also offers a chance for you to get to know each other outside of the limits of the work environment and form stronger relationships.

That being said, this is not a social visit. Keep your goals in mind — even outside of work hours. If you’re familiar with the restaurants in the area, choose a place that has options for every diet and has a good atmosphere for conversations. If you’re not familiar with the available options, ask the client where they’d recommend.

Complete the wrap-up report.

After the visit is over, you still have work to do. Create a wrap-up report for your internal teams back at the office. It should cover key elements of the visit like any confidentiality agreements put in place and who at your company you can share contact information or sales figures with.

Identify any action items that came up during the visit. Include any positive highlights during the meeting as well as any risks or opportunities that arose. Create a copy of the report for your client as well, to show that you were listening to their concerns and that you’re going to follow up with them.

Now that we have explored some useful weekly schedule templates, let’s take a closer look at these templates and their use cases.

What is a weekly schedule template?

A weekly schedule helps with the planning of your team’s tasks within a one-week timeframe. It lists out their meetings or work activities on specific days of the week.

The purpose of creating a weekly schedule is the same as that of a daily planner or personal planner. But the significant difference is that here you’re thinking ahead and planning your team’s tasks for the entire week.

A weekly calendar will inform the team about their upcoming priorities and the due dates of each task in advance. The weekly planner can cover a range of tasks like creating a PowerPoint presentation, discussing a new project brief, attending a seminar, and so on.

Who can benefit from it?

The free weekly planner template can come in handy for individuals from different walks of life, such as:

  • Project managers and team leaders looking for shift scheduling templates.
  • CEOs and executives looking to improve employee productivity .
  • IT Professionals working on multiple projects.
  • Marketers handling several clients.
  • Senior scholars or MBA graduates (for class scheduling, lesson plan, homework assignments, and college schedule).
  • Freelancers working for different clients.
  • People who want it for personal use.

Now that we know the basics of weekly schedules, let’s check out the top advantages of using the weekly planner template.

3 advantages of using a weekly schedule template

Here are the three advantages of using a weekly schedule template:

1. Keeps your team goal-oriented

The best part of having a weekly schedule is that your team won’t be confused about their to-do lists and topmost priorities. It serves as a guide to their important tasks, just like a daily planner template.

The awareness of weekly tasks gives employees a head start. It allows them to come up with a plan of action for achieving those weekly goals. This way, your team can allot time for all the tasks wisely and use their working hours productively.

At the end of the week, they don’t feel the undue pressure of completing certain tasks they weren’t prepared for. Instead, the weekly calendar template helps them focus on tasks with the nearest due dates.

The weekly work schedule can assist your team with work planning, reduce workplace stress levels , and increase your success score at work!

2. Helps you with task delegation

Managers often have a tough time delegating tasks and constantly wonder if the workload distribution across the team is fair enough.

A simple weekly schedule can solve your problem and help you delegate tasks more effectively .

With the weekly planner, you can view the task list of each employee in your team and gauge their bandwidth. With the weekly work schedule template, you won’t mistake assigning a task to an employee with a full calendar.

Moreover, in creating an employee schedule, you can understand which team member can best handle a specific task. You can go through the previous work schedule and weekly calendar to make an accurate decision.

3. Lets you break down large tasks

With the weekly planner template, you can break down large and complex projects into smaller, more manageable tasks.

So in the 5-day work week schedule template, you can break down the project work across five working days, so your team knows the expected timelines.

For example, start with a project brief on Monday. Tuesday can be about brainstorming ideas followed by the initial project execution phase on Wednesday, and by Friday, the team can submit the product or idea for review.

Such a weekly plan will enable your team members to understand their roles and tasks associated with the project in greater detail. As a result, your team can progress through different project stages with greater clarity and minimum confusion.

In a blank weekly schedule template, you can list the different tasks and subtasks in the calendar.

However, despite being an efficient means of planning the team’s work, the weekly schedule template has many limitations.

So before you decide to implement these templates in your workplace, you may want to go over the next section highlighting its major disadvantages.

3 disadvantages of using a weekly schedule template

Here are the three cons of using a weekly schedule template:

1. Makes it difficult to collaborate

The problem with a printable weekly planner is that you’ve to share and reshare the schedules every time you make some edits — as the latest calendar updates won’t automatically reflect in an Excel spreadsheet or PDF document.

Even when you create the weekly schedule template on Google Docs, you’ll have to notify your team with the updated link via email. So the more changes you make to the employee schedule template, the longer that particular email thread becomes. And as we all know, finding a relevant link or one-page attachment in a cluttered inbox can be time-consuming and inconvenient.

So the weekly planner template makes it difficult for employees across departments to collaborate effortlessly. Unlike a digital weekly planner, it doesn’t let you organize all the information on one centralized platform.

2. Cannot keep track of absences

The weekly schedule template lacks the feature of automatically showing employees who are present, absent, or joining late.

In the Excel template, you can enter these details manually on the same working day or after. But the lack of prior information about an employee’s unavailability can disrupt the weekly schedule of an entire team — especially if a particular task’s progress depends on them.

However, this is not the case with a digital weekly planner that tracks the employee’s vacation days and paid time off.

3. Lack of version control

The weekly schedule undergoes several edits when multiple team members have access to the same spreadsheet.

While this is necessary for updating any task or timeline due to changing priorities or pushed back deadlines, you’ll never know the last person who edited the weekly planner template.

It’s also entirely possible for an employee to make an error while updating the weekly template, which can put the entire team’s work plan at risk. And due to the lack of version control, you can’t hold anyone accountable or identify the origin of the mistake.

Fortunately, there’s a smart alternative to using manual weekly schedule templates for better teamwork .

Plan weekly schedules for higher productivity with Time Doctor

With effective weekly scheduling, you can organize your team’s daily work activities to avoid losing sight of the weekly goals. However, maintaining and updating the schedule manually every week can be quite time-consuming and often prone to error.

That’s why you need a robust, digital solution for better schedule and time management.

And Time Doctor is one of the best time tracking software that can help you overcome the drawbacks of the printable weekly schedule.

What is Time Doctor?

time doctor Time Tracking

Time Doctor is a powerful employee scheduling app that helps you improve your team’s productivity. This time management software is preferred by large enterprises like Ericsson, as well as by small businesses, like Thrive Market, to boost organizational efficiency.

With Time Doctor’s work scheduling feature, you can plan employee shifts and create a work schedule template for the entire team. This way, they can focus on their top priorities instead of spending time on redundant tasks.

You can use the tool’s time tracking feature, to check which tasks and projects are taking up the most time in their monthly schedule. The Time Doctor app also lets you monitor the team’s attendance and track their progress on the weekly targets.

Here’s are the key features of Time Doctor that can help you implement weekly schedules and elevate team performance:

A. Create weekly work schedules

Work schedules in Time Doctor allow managers and executives to create, view, add, and modify daily and weekly schedules for employees reporting to them. It helps the team block their time for specific tasks and follow through with their expected timelines.

Team leaders can use this feature to:

  • Establish different schedules for each employee.
  • Create detailed timesheets and mention the specific weekly agenda.
  • Assess individual bandwidth and distribute the workload evenly.
  • Import and export employee scheduling data in a CSV file.

Work schedules

Here’s how you can activate the Work Schedule feature in Time Doctor:

  • Visit the Company Settings page.
  • Enable Work Schedule by clicking the toggle on Use Work Schedules as shown below.

use work schedules

  • Select the Settings menu. Here you’ll see the Work Schedules page and get details of the employee schedule.

Additionally, you can copy the weekly schedules across several weeks to prepare a monthly planner template.

B. Track employee work hours

The time tracking feature of Time Doctor is the key to improving your employee’s everyday efficiency at work. This, in turn, helps them successfully cover all the weekly tasks without breaking a sweat.

Using this app’s time tracking feature, employees can track their daily schedule and work hours (both manually and automatically ).

Here are the steps to track your work hours on Time Doctor:

  • Open the app and enter your task name (for example: SEO audit, keyword research, blog upload, etc.)
  • Press Start to start tracking your time.
  • Hit Stop when your task is complete or if you want to pause for some time.
  • You can move to other tasks and continue recording the time, in the same way, using the timer button.

Easy and accurate time tracking

The timer starts as soon as the employees switch on their systems in the automatic time tracking mode.

This feature helps them concentrate on the work at hand, instead of getting distracted by the timer every single time. However, you’ll still get detailed insights into your employees’ productivity.

C. Assess weekly progress and productivity

Besides employee scheduling, managers can access Time Doctor’s detailed reports to evaluate their employee’s progress on the weekly tasks.

Here’s a list of Time Doctor’s productivity reports :

  • Activity summary report: Get an overview of every employee’s active working hours and unproductive time in a given week.
  • Hours tracked report: Track the total number of hours your employees have worked on their task lists in a week.
  • Timeline report: Get daily and weekly reports on the time employees spend on breaks and their tasks. Here you can monitor their weekly routine and check if it’s in sync with the work schedule.
  • Web and app usage report: Assess employee productivity by checking their time on different apps and websites.
  • Projects and tasks report: Calculate the time employees contribute towards different tasks and projects in a given week.
  • Attendance report: Check the data for the present, absent, partially absent, or late joining employees. Also, you can view the data for your work schedule in the attendance report.

Schedule Attendance Report

These reports are key to assessing your employees’ performance and help you understand if they’re sticking to their work schedule.

Besides helping you plan your team’s weekly schedule, Time Doctor can also send distraction alerts to employees whenever they spend too much time on social media or other time-consuming apps.

You can use the tool’s productivity ratings feature to classify websites as productive or unproductive. This way, your employees avoid browsing through such unproductive websites and keep up their work momentum.

Explore other amazing features of Time Doctor here.

Final thoughts

You can prioritize your tasks, plan your daily goals, and push yourself to excellence with weekly schedules.

However, using a weekly schedule template is not the best option to manage team schedules. For starters, a weekly planner template lacks automation functionality, which is quite essential in today’s high-paced work environment.

So why not opt for an employee scheduling app like Time Doctor, which can monitor your progress and improve productivity?

What is a Weekly Plan?

A weekly plan is exactly what it sounds like…

“an action plan to accomplish everything that you need to get done in a given week”

Your plan can include anything from your annual doctor’s appointment to your child’s dance recital to picking up the dry cleaning, and it’s a great way to schedule your week so that you can finish your most important tasks and be more productive .

Why You Should Spend Time Creating a Weekly Schedule

A weekly plan helps you keep track of things..

If you’re busy doing ALL THE THINGS, then a weekly plan can help you keep track of everything so that things don’t fall through the cracks. Writing your to-do list down each week and scheduling your time out in advance will give you something to reference so you don’t forget anything important.

A Weekly Plan can make you more productive.

I don’t know about you, but when I don’t have a plan of action or to-do list for the day, then I feel like I waste a lot of time thinking about what to do next. A weekly plan eliminates that down time and instead gives you an action plan of things to get done and in what order to do them.

No more twiddling your thumbs when you accomplish one task and you’re trying to determine off-the-cuff what needs to be done next.

A Weekly Plan can help you say “no”.

Have you ever overcommitted your time without realizing it? Like you said “yes” to volunteering at the school bake sale, and you also said “yes” to attending your husband’s work party on the same night.

Scheduling your week can help you avoid overlap in time commitments, and it can also show you when you need to say “no” because you’re simply too busy.

How to Create the Perfect Weekly Plan for You

Before you dig out your planner and get started on making your weekly schedule, let’s go over some important steps so that you can get the most out of the time you spend on your weekly planning :

planner that says goal plan action

Step 1: Set your goals for the week.

Start by writing down your top 3 goals for the week. These could include something as simple and general as taking one hour to read a magazine and relax in the bathtub, or more specific goals like decluttering and organizing the hall closet.

Those 3 goals should be your weekly “nonnegotiable” tasks, meaning that come hell or high water, you will get those 3 things done!

Step 2: Determine what your “work hours” will be.

Could you accomplish everything on your to-do list? Probably. But would that require you to work well past midnight and neglect family time or time needed to just unwind and take care of your SELF?

When weekly planning, it’s important to set your “work hours”, preferably those times that you know that you can be most productive. For instance, my “work hours” are from 7:30am to 2:45pm, because that is the time that my kids are at school and I can get the most done.

It doesn’t make sense to try and schedule errands, appointments, and work-related tasks during times that you know you can’t be productive, like when you’re getting your kids ready for bed or when you’re spending quality time with your husband.

Step 3: Get it ALL out on paper.

Next it’s time to get your to-do list on paper. You can use a scrap piece of paper or a blank notebook to jot down ALL of the things that you need to get done for the week, including appointments, kids’ activities, work tasks, etc.

Think of this as a big brainstorming session, where there are no wrong answers. Don’t worry about fancy handwriting or spelling… just “empty” your brain.

Step 4: Prioritize your weekly tasks.

After you’ve got a big list of weekly tasks to accomplish and events and appointments to attend, it’s time to prioritize everything.

You can do this a few different ways. Either use a simple number system to rank items in order of importance, writing number 1 next to the highest priority agenda item and so on. Or, you can also use a highlighter to highlight those tasks that are most important and can’t be skipped so that you’re sure to make room for those in your weekly plan.

Step 5: Fill in your weekly schedule.

Next, transfer your weekly plan to whatever type of planner you are using, whether it’s a regular planner, a dry erase board, or a planning app.

Go through your prioritized tasks and start adding them to your schedule starting with the highest priority tasks.

free printable weekly plan template

Step 6: List “carryover items” for next week.

As you fill in your weekly planner , you’ll probably start to notice that there just aren’t enough hours in the week to get everything done. In that case, the items that were low on your list of priorities will have to be pushed off until next week or even the week after.

Those “would be nice to do” tasks (like cleaning out the pantry or decluttering sentimental items) that don’t necessarily HAVE TO be done, can be noted in a “carryover” section of your weekly plan.

That way, you still have a visual record of those low priority jobs to remind yourself, but you don’t feel obligated to get them done this week if there isn’t time.

On the same accord, if you end up with extra time at the end of your week (like from “flex time” that was never used), then you can choose to work on those carryover items.

Weekly Planning Tips

Now that you know how to schedule your week with an AWESOME organized plan, here are some other weekly planning tips:

Don’t overbook yourself.

I don’t know about you, but I feel the most stressed when I am SUPER busy. Running from one place to the next, or trying to accomplish TOO MUCH in a single day can lead to burnout and overwhelm. No good!

Don’t be afraid to say “no” if you’re too busy, and don’t feel bad about putting off low priority tasks until a future date.

Add some flex time into your weekly plan.

Things that require your immediate attention are bound to come up during the week, so it’s important to have some “flex time” built in to your schedule so that you can accomplish pressing tasks without falling behind on your other pre-planned activities.

Your child could get strep throat and need to be taken in to the doctor, or you may get a nail in your car tire and have to stop in to get it plugged. Without flex time built in to your weekly plan, then these unanticipated items would be taking away from other things that you had already planned on doing.

However, if you block off a few hours each week, and don’t schedule anything during that time, then you can use those extra hours as a “catch up” period.

Do a brain dump so you don’t forget anything.

If you’re super busy doing ALL THE THINGS, then you may need to do a brain dump throughout the week or even before you start creating your weekly schedule.

A brain dump is a great way to get anything and everything (to do lists, grocery lists, favorite quotes, Netflix shows you want to watch, etc) out of your brain and on to paper.

Go here to read more about how to do a brain dump , and grab this FREE printable brain dump worksheet:

Don’t forget about self care.

Self care is SO important, especially if you’re super busy and could become overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things that you need to get done each week. And while it may seem like a waste of time to enjoy a bubble bath or read a book, studies have actually proven that self care can actually make you MORE productive .

Want self care ideas to incorporate in to your weekly plan, check out this post: 30 Day Self Care Challenge for Moms and grab the FREE printable self care challenge!

Don’t be discouraged if your plan doesn’t go as planned.

Taylor Swift once said,

Just because you made a good plan, doesn’t mean that’s what’s gonna happen. Taylor Swift

And she’s right… and yes, I see the humor in the fact that I went from quoting Benjamin Franklin to Taylor Swift!

I could also spout off a ton of quotes about “the best laid plans” and so on and so on, but the point is that you can’t PLAN everything. Life happens, and you will need to adjust.

Don’t beat yourself up about it, but instead just move those items that didn’t get done to the following week. And remember, when things don’t go your way, you can either dwell on it and feel bad for yourself, or you can adjust and move forward.

Things to Include When Planning Your Week

Here are some ideas of things to include in your weekly plan to get you started:

Household Jobs

  • Daily and weekly cleaning jobs – Check out my FREE printable Bedroom Cleaning Checklists and Kitchen Cleaning Checklists for weekly cleaning ideas to add to your schedule!
  • Meal-related tasks – Cooking, meal planning, meal prepping
  • Decluttering and organizing jobs that you want to get done – Like finally tackling that junk drawer

Family Obligations

  • Dropping your kids off at their extracurricular activities
  • School ceremonies, events, or field trips
  • Date night with your husband
  • Weekly phone call with your Mom
  • Sunday night family dinner

Appointments

  • Doctor’s appointments
  • Lunch dates
  • Car maintenance appointments

Be sure to include all errands that need to be completed during the week, including anything that needs to be done outside of the home, like:

  • Picking up the dry cleaning
  • Dropping off an Amazon return
  • Going to the post office
  • Renewing your driver’s license

Work-Related Items

If you have a job (besides the one you do for free as the household manager, chauffeur, kid-wrangler, etc), then you probably have certain work obligations that need to be included in your weekly plan.

Even if it’s just the time that you will actually be AT work, or your regular work schedule including commuting time, be sure to include those hours in your schedule for the week so that you don’t overbook yourself.

Scheduled “down time”

It’s important to have planned down time included in your weekly schedule also. Whether it’s watching your favorite show with your husband each night, or making time for a relaxing bubble bath at the end of the week to wind down, be sure to include that important time for self care.

Want some ideas for what to do with your down time each week? Check out this 30 Day Self Care Challenge for Moms and grab the printable list of self care ideas to include in your weekly plan!

Time for reflection and planning for next week

This important time is often left out of a weekly plan, because you don’t typically think about setting aside time for planning. But in order to maximize productivity week after week, it’s important to build time for planning into your weekly schedule.

I suggest blocking off 30 minutes to one hour each Saturday or Sunday to set your schedule for the upcoming week and to reflect on the previous week. You can also use this time to set your intentions for the week, outside of specific to-do’s.

Weekly Planning Tools

If you’re new to weekly planning , then I suggest that you invest in a planner, calendar, or app to help you keep track of everything that you want to accomplish each week.

Trying to just remember your plan for the week is never a good idea, because you’re bound to forget something and constantly going over a weekly to-do list in your head can actually cause you to be LESS productive and MORE stressed… that’s why I advocate for doing brain dumps !

Here are some awesome tools that can help you with keeping track of your weekly plan:

Weekly Planner

There are about a gazillion different weekly planners that you can use if you’re more of a pen and paper kind of gal.

I personally LOVE the Happy Planner, so much so that I wrote an entire post to help you get started using this awesome planner system: The Happy Planner – Everything Beginners Need to Know

Happy Planner and accessories

But if you think that all of the pretty coordinating accessories and stickers will be more of a distraction than a productivity boost, then you may want to consider a more basic weekly planner.

I’ve got some AWESOME weekly planner suggestions in this post: The Best Mom Planners to Get Seriously Organized

And if you want a little extra motivation to stick with your weekly planning, then try some fun new colorful pens to help you color code your schedule… kind of like getting a cute new workout outfit can help you stick to your gym routine!

Here are some of the BEST Pens for Planners – I tested 12 different popular pens to find out which don’t bleed or smear!

The best pens for Planners!

Weekly Planner Tear-Off Desk Pad

If you like to focus on one week at a time, and then throw that plan out to move on, then you may like a tear-off desk pad like this one to schedule your week. This particular weekly planner pad is great because it includes plenty of room for notes (where you can record your “carryover” items for next week) AND space for habit trackers!

Dry Erase Board Weekly Calendar

In addition to my Happy Planner, where I record more detailed and family-specific information, I also use a dry erase board calendar for work-related tasks.

dry erase board weekly planner hanging on a wall

I found the awesome dry erase weekly calendar above at HomeGoods, and it hangs above my desk so I can plan everything that I want to get done for my blog each week. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find another one this size, but you can find smaller dry erase weekly calendars on Amazon that are perfectly sized to hang on your fridge.

Weekly Planning Apps

If you prefer an electronic method of planning over actually writing things down on paper, then a convenient cell phone app may be right for you. Check out some of the best planner apps for 2021 here !

Digital Planners for iPad

If your iPad or tablet is pretty much attached at your hip, then you may consider using a digital planner. Digital planners are typically in PDF form and can be uploaded to a notes app like Keynote. Then, you can use your stylus or Apple Pencil and write directly on your screen to fill in your planner.

You can find a TON of cute digital planners on Etsy!

What is a Weekly Schedule Template?

A weekly schedule template is a tool that helps you plan your week in advance and organize your activities according to your priorities, goals and deadlines. It can also help you track your progress, monitor your performance and improve your productivity.

It contains a table or a chart with the days of the week and the time slots for each day. You can fill in your tasks, appointments, meetings, events and other activities for each day and time slot.

A weekly schedule template can be either digital or paper-based, depending on your preference and convenience. You can use a spreadsheet, a word processor, a calendar app, a planner or a notebook to create your own weekly schedule template. Alternatively, you can use an online tool like Creately to create a professional-looking and customizable weekly schedule template.

Components of a Weekly Schedule Template

A weekly schedule template should have the following components:

Days of the week: You can either use the standard Monday to Sunday format or start your week from any day that suits you best. For example, if you are a student, you might want to start your week from Sunday to align with the academic calendar.

Time slots: You can either use the standard 24-hour format or the 12-hour format with AM and PM indicators. You can also divide your day into different segments, such as morning, afternoon, evening and night. You should choose the time slots that match your lifestyle and work habits.

Tasks: These are the activities that you need to do or want to do during the week. They can be categorized into different types, such as work-related, personal, social, recreational, educational, etc. You should assign each task a priority level, a deadline and an estimated duration.

Color codes: These are optional but useful features that help you visualize your weekly schedule at a glance. You can use different colors to highlight different types of tasks, priority levels, deadlines or other criteria that are important for you.

Notes: These are optional but helpful features that help you add more details or information to your tasks. You can use notes to specify the location, the contact person, the resources needed or any other relevant information for each task.

[Product ui] Weekly schedule sorted by priority, effort, and status (list view)

When it comes to creating a weekly schedule, it’s important to track what you need to do. But without assigning those tasks a priority, due date, and description, they might never get done.

That’s where a weekly schedule template comes in.

What is a weekly schedule?

What is a weekly schedule template.

A weekly schedule template (sometimes called a weekly planner template or weekly calendar template) is a templatized way to create and organize your weekly schedule. By using a template to create a new weekly schedule every week, you can kickstart your to-dos and get right to work on Monday morning.

The benefits of a digital weekly schedule template

A quick Google search of “weekly schedule template” will show you dozens of printable Excel templates or blank weekly schedule PDFs. The problem is, those types of weekly calendars only allow you to capture the bare minimum information about each task.

More often than not, to-dos are more complicated than a sentence. You need to track more than the week’s work—you also need to know when each task is due, how important it is, and what collaborators or context are involved. If you use a printable weekly schedule, you lose out on all of these details.

[Product ui] Weekly schedule sorted by priority and status (list view)

By creating a simple weekly schedule in a project management tool , rather than a printable weekly calendar, you can:

See all of your to-dos in one place

Toggle between a daily planner and a weekly calendar

Track the priority of each deliverable

Rearrange due dates if and when priorities change

Share context with stakeholders

Attach relevant documents like Google Docs or Google Sheets to your to-dos

Collaborate with your team members

Track progress right where work happens

Review completed tasks and task lists

Improve your time management

View your weekly agenda in real time

What to include in your digital weekly schedule template

In order to get your most important work done, you need to know what work is most important. Sounds obvious, right? But without the right tools, this can be hard to do.

Make sure your digital weekly schedule template allows you to tag to-dos with different information—like the priority of the work, or how long it will take. That way, when you log in on any given morning, you reduce the time you spend scanning through your work schedule and focus on getting things done .

Integrated features

Custom fields . Custom fields are the best way to tag, sort, and filter work. Create unique custom fields for any information you need to track—from priority and status to email or phone number. Use custom fields to sort and schedule your to-dos so you know what to work on first. Plus, share custom fields across tasks and projects to ensure consistency across your organization.

Dependencies . Mark a task as waiting on another task with task dependencies. Know when your work is blocking someone else’s work, so you can prioritize accordingly. Teams with collaborative workflows can easily see what tasks they’re waiting on from others, and know when to get started on their portion of work. When the first task is completed, the assignee will be notified that they can get started on their dependent task. Or, if the task your work is dependent on is rescheduled, Asana will notify you—letting you know if you need to adjust your dependent due date as well.

Start dates . Sometimes you don’t just need to track when a to-do is due—you also need to know when you should start working on it. Start times and dates give your team members a clear sense of how long each task should take to complete. Use start dates to set, track, and manage work to align your team's objectives and prevent dependencies from falling through the cracks.

Board View . Board View is a Kanban board-style view that displays your project’s information in columns. Columns are typically organized by work status (like To Do, Doing, and Done) but you can adjust column titles depending on your project needs. Within each column, tasks are displayed as cards, with a variety of associated information including task title, due date, and custom fields. Track work as it moves through stages and get at-a-glance insight into where your project stands.

Gmail . With the Asana for Gmail integration, you can create Asana tasks directly from your Gmail inbox. Any tasks you create from Gmail will automatically include the context from your email, so you never miss a beat. Need to refer to an Asana task while composing an email? Instead of opening Asana, use the Asana for Gmail add-on to simply search for that task directly from your Gmail inbox.

Outlook . As action items come in via email, like reviewing work from your agency or a request for design assets from a partner, you can now create tasks for them in Asana right from Outlook. You can then assign the new task to yourself or a teammate, set a due date, and add it to a project so it’s connected to other relevant work.

Google Workplace . Attach files directly to tasks in Asana with the Google Workplace file chooser, which is built into the Asana task pane. Easily attach any My Drive file with just a few clicks.

Box . Attach files directly to tasks in Asana with the Box file picker, which is built into the Asana task pane.

What’s the difference between a weekly schedule and a daily schedule template?

A weekly schedule tracks your to-dos across the entire week. A daily schedule template is usually more specific, tracking your to-dos for the day as well as when in the day you’ll work on them. A daily schedule template is similar to the time blocking time management technique , whereas a weekly schedule template is more akin to a schedule planner.

Do I need a weekly schedule template?

While checking a basic to-do list off on paper is satisfying, a weekly schedule is the only real way to stay on track with your work. By visualizing all of your to-dos in a virtual tool , you can dynamically track your daily schedule in real time. A free weekly schedule template makes it easy to create a new weekly schedule every week so you can get started on important work right away.

How do you use a weekly schedule?

Start by adding all of your weekly to-dos in one place—in this case, into your weekly schedule template. Make sure each task has a due date as well as any additional contextual information like priority or status. Then, since your weekly schedule lives in a virtual tool , add any collaborators or documents you need to keep track of—all where work happens. As the week goes on, use your weekly schedule to make sure you’re on track with your work. Share updates and visibility with your team members, and celebrate a job well done.

What is the purpose of a weekly schedule?

A weekly schedule helps you stay organized and on track. Track your to-dos , the status of each task, and how important work is . Not only does a weekly schedule give your team insight into what you’re working on, it also helps you when deadlines and deliverables change. Get at-a-glance insight into your most important work so you can get that work done on time and on schedule.

How do I make a weekly schedule template?

Your weekly schedule template should live in a project management platform . Not only does that make duplicating the template a breeze, it also allows you to tag each to-do with additional information—including the priority of the work, the status of work, and more. Toggle between your weekly work schedule and your daily priorities so you always know exactly what’s on the agenda.

What are the benefits of creating a weekly schedule?

Your weekly schedule template is your source of truth for all of your weekly planning. Unlike a personal planner or a monthly calendar, a weekly schedule tracks all of your important to-dos in one place.

Planner Widgets

If you have a lot of tasks to do then you might prefer a stand-alone weekly to-do list . If you want to add a checklist widget to your planner template, then this is the section you will use.

Daily reflection

Some of the planner templates have a section for daily reflection. If you choose a template that doesn’t have one, you can still add it.

Daily reflection helps you establish what is working for you and what isn’t so that you can draw conclusions and be more effective. If something makes you feel good you can add it to your daily routine in the future. If, on the other hand, during your daily reflection you conclude that something causes you to waste time, feel bad, ect. then you can stay away from that activity if possible. Daily reflection is an opportunity to think about what we do instead of going about our day on auto-pilot.

If you are looking for a weekly planner with a section for reflection, then look at the templates above to find one that includes such a section.

Gratitude List

If you don’t have a dedicated gratitude list in your planner, then you can use add a gratitude list to your planner printable.

Even if you do have a dedicated list, you can still add a gratitude section to your planner. Sometimes, life gets hectic and stressful and during those periods we might only use a weekly calendar and not use our gratitude list. When gratitude is integrated into our planner then it increases the chances that we actually use it. When life is hectic and stressful, expressing gratitude can be really helpful. It forces you to start thinking about what you have and what you should appreciate instead of the reason you are stressed.

See the benefits of keeping a gratitude list .

Hourly schedule

Some of the weekly templates include an hourly schedule. People with scheduled meetings and appointments will probably always want to include a daily schedule in their weekly planner template. It will enable them to schedule their meetings and appointments each day. However, even those who do not have any scheduled meetings will benefit from a time schedule. When you have the whole day to do something with no commitments, you might find that you get less done. I know that when I have a busy schedule, I am more likely to exercise than when I am free all day. Why? Because when I know I will be busy all day, I schedule my exercise beforehand and make sure it happens. I often realize that if I don’t work out first thing in the morning, then I won’t work out that day, so I do it. However, when I don’t schedule a workout then I put it off all day and it usually just doesn’t happen.

Use an hourly schedule template to plan your week ahead of time hour by hour. Schedule all of the things you want to do that day. Add workout sessions, yoga or meditation, meetings, work schedule, appointments, and any tasks you want to get done. You will find that you get a lot more done! See hourly planner .

When you are trying to eat healthy food, change your lifestyle, or stick to a certain diet, then adding a meal plan template will greatly increase your chances of success. Planning each meal ahead of time will ensure that you eat what you intended to eat each day. When you don’t have the food that you wanted to eat available then you might land up eating junk food that is always readily available. You can either print a dedicated meal plan or add a meal plan section to your planner. Planning your meals for one week ahead ensures that your meals are not repetitive or boring and that you are eating a variety of foods.

Water Intake

Most people don’t drink enough water. Including a water tracker in your planner will most likely increase your daily water intake.

Journal/Notes

Allocating a section for notes or journaling enables you to write down thoughts each day of the week. You don’t need to keep a journal to repeat the benefits of journaling such as stress reduction, improving your mood, and overall well-being. Not everyone has time to keep a journal and use it every day. However, dedicating a small section for notes on your planner template might be all you need. Write about what happened throughout the day, what you did, how you felt, what bothered you, etc. See journal template .

Motivational Quotes

There is an option to add ready-made motivational quotes to your planner with our free planner app. You can, of course, simply type a quote if you don’t see it in the quote gallery. Quotes are motivational and inspiring. They can boost your confidence and uplift your spirit.

You might want to include a monthly calendar on your weekly calendar template. You can insert a weekly, monthly, or yearly calendar with one click of your mouse.

Mood Tracker

Some people like to track their mood on a daily basis. We offer mood trackers that you can add and mark your mood each day. You can elaborate in the journal or note section if you add one. If you add a mood tracker to your planner then you can track your mood over the entire week and find patterns. You can also check your journal section to remind you what might have caused the specific mood if you are unsure.

How to Make Your Week More Productive

Your week will never be very productive if you have not set yourself goals (see how to set goals ). Your weekly plan should be aligned with your goals.

Use your weekly planner to prioritize your time. Each day, set your top 3 goals or priorities for the day. Try not to work on other things until you complete those goals. Make sure that your goals relate to all the areas that are meaningful in your life (see our free goal planner ). This will ensure that you don’t sacrifice your health or relationships in order to reach your goals. It also ensures that you work on your mindset and don’t forget to connect with people and devote some time to gratitude.

Before you make a list of tasks ask yourself which projects you want to prioritize this week . Include the tasks you need to do to complete these projects or get them started.

Before you start planning your week, review your previous weekly plan if you have one. Go over each task you didn’t complete and ask yourself why. Is it still relevant? Is it a waste of your time? If you still need to complete that task, then move it over to the current week. If not, devote a few minutes to think about how it made it to your list and what you can do in the future to be more focused.

Avoid distractions. If you feel you are not as productive as you could be then you must be very careful about what you include in your list. If a task doesn’t help you achieve one of your goals (see goal chart ) or if it is not something you have to do, then don’t waste your time doing it.

Only add weekly tasks that you can realistically accomplish. Don’t put more than you can handle on your weekly to-do list. You will land up doing less. Trust me! Print a weekly planner for the next few weeks and add your tasks to future weeks to ensure that you don’t forget to do them.

Plan each day . A weekly planner with times will keep you more focused and will make you more productive. See our hourly week schedule template above.

Each week, use a weekly printable calendar or digital calendar and add your weekly goals and priorities. Mark them when complete.

A sales plan is a document that serves as a medium for strategizing your sales goals and objectives, while effectively communicating your tactics to your team to help you achieve these targets. Why You Need a Weekly Sales Plan

Have you ever tried grocery shopping? Are you one of those people who just randomly go to the supermarket, grab whatever they can find, and then go home only to realize that they’ve forgotten to grab a new carton of milk or a roll of tissues? So they’re going to have to drive all the way back to the store to grab two essential things they forgot simply because they didn’t create a list of what they need. You may also see sales strategy plan examples .

Or even when you’re driving to some place you’ve never been to. You don’t just start your engine and hope for the best. You’ll have to ask for directions and landmarks, or find the location on your GPS to assure that you get there. Unless you want to lose a couple of hours off your time getting lost, then be everybody’s guest. You may also like daily sales plan examples .

Your sales plan is not that different from a grocery list or a map for an unfamiliar road. Not only will it help make sure you actually get what and where you set your eyes on, it will also make the attempt more efficient because you have already planned the whole process.

The competitiveness of the corporate world can be overwhelming. Achieving goals you’ve set out for your team is already difficult in itself. If you add the rivals into the equation, it can be pretty daunting. If you make your way through it with no direction or guide whatsoever, not only will you fail to get anywhere meaningful, you might also get lost.

The unadulterated act of writing your goals on paper gives it more weight, more significance. It also gives you more focus, in comparison to simply trying to maintain a mental picture of the things that you want to gain. In this technology-ruled generation, something as important as your better goal must deserve to be written down.

Having a target you can work toward is excellent because it can serve as your motivation. But backing that up with a plan? It’s 90% chance of success. Having a printed out weekly sales plan can give you the focus of a shopping list and the efficiency of a map.

Annual and quarterly sales plans are also valuable but they tend to look at the bigger picture more. This can become a liability since it’s the small steps that serves as a catalyst for the long-term goals to be achieved. A weekly sales plan is every successful salesperson’s secret weapon. They will use it to declare exactly what they intend to get done, and how they can do it, over the short time span of seven days.

With a weekly sales plan, you can also make the most out of your weekend knowing that your five days has been successful, and that the next week has already been prepared for. Who doesn’t want that kind of assurance?

Three Ways to Start Your Sales Week

The best way to maximize your five days is to already have an idea on what you can use it for, keeping in mind that every action must be dedicated to attaining the best possible long-term results. Here are three things you can choose to do with your week to make the best out of it:

1. Begin with Your Existing Opportunities

On a positive note, you don’t have to start with a completely empty plate because you already have an existing pipeline to work with. It’s now up to you to utilize these resources to help you move either forward or backward. You may also see territory sales plan examples .

Working backward would mean that you grab the opportunities that have presented themselves to you, such as a phone call, an email, or a meeting to an important entity, and use them to help you move forward.

By using your assets and injecting the right amount of commitment, you’ll create a faster route to the end of the sales process. This is an effective technique that can help you make sure that you’ve taken every possible action to move forward. You may also like monthly sales plan examples .

By taking these opportunities and moving them forward at the dawn of the sales process, you can effectively gain commitments while also using the ones you already have.

2. Begin by Creating New Opportunities within Your Existing Clients

Another option you can develop on is the chance to create new opportunities with the help of your patrons. Use these existing relationships to make new opportunities. Doing so will be easier since you already have the people and the contracts, the only thing left for you to do is to take these connections to create bigger value. You may also check out sales strategic plan examples .

3. Begin by Prospecting and Nurturing Your Dream Clients

The final and, honestly, the best choice out of the three is to begin your week with the intention of focusing on your dream clients or your desired market bunch. However, this can be pretty difficult, even for founded salespeople, and especially for those who are new to the field. You might be interested in hotel sales plan examples .

These clients aren’t yours (yet) because of two reasons: first, they don’t know who you are, which can be easily amended; second, they don’t care about you, and there lies the challenge. These prospective clients are going to be cold toward you. And since you don’t have a current relationship with them, nor do you have any existing opportunities where they are concerned, the going will get tough. You may also see restaurant sales plan examples .

However, by focusing on these prospects first, and investing your whole week’s worth of efforts to attract them, the higher your chances are of getting things done.

When it comes to your clients, also known as the most important people in your business life, you have two choices (again): working with the ones who are already loyal to you or trying to market to those who you are yet to attract. If you choose the former, chances are that you will no longer have time for the latter. You may also like printable strategic sales plan examples .

Know your priorities (which is basically the lesson this whole article is trying to communicate) and work on them. But if you feel that you need to implement both choices on your week, do so. Take the day’s first half for one, and the rest for the other. Although this can prove itself to be a challenge, it will also help you achieve more, thus making your week productive. You may also check out sales action plan examples .

Taking the time to think about how you’re going to utilize your upcoming week will help you know the priorities you should focus all your energy on. Doing so will help you achieve small benchmarks that are helpful in reaching your bigger goals. You might be interested in financial plan examples .

How to Develop a Weekly Sales Plan

Once you’ve decided how to make use of your week, you can then proceed to creating a plan that can outline your goals and the steps you can take to reach them. Whether you are a sales manager curating a plan for your team members, or a team member developing a sales plan for yourself, the benefits that this tiny, yet resounding, effort can offer are numerous.

Especially as a salesperson who must be continually self-motivated and driven to ensure an active pursuance of success rather than simply lying in wait until it comes, a weekly sales plan is an absolute need. Which is why below are six steps you can follow to help you design a simple sales plan that can specifically cater to your needs and goals.

1. Determine your sales goals.

Your goals will serve as the starting point which can guide you and tell you how to develop your sales plan. Without a clear and definite aim, even with an effective sales plan, you’ll still drift aimlessly since you don’t really have a destination in mind. (What’s a map or a GPS if you don’t have a place you want to go?) You may also see marketing plan examples .

Your goal can be something small or common like a targeted sales volume or a dollar amount. As unoriginal as these targets are, they can already tell you how hard you have to work and how many sales you need to get to attain your goal.

2. Select the system or strategy most effective in achieving your goal.

Each of the products you are trying to sell needs different marketing strategies . What may help you sell a car may not do you any good when trying to advertise an insurance policy . Once you’ve understood the number or amount you are aiming for, narrow down the best methods in your field and identify which one will be most helpful to you in making sales.

3. Define your target market and develop a sales plan for it.

Get to know your product as well as your customers. Then, connect both parties and see where they match somehow. Determine how your product can meet your customers’ needs, and demonstrate that to them in a way they can never refuse. By understanding the most pertinent needs of your prospects, you can present your product to them in a way that will make them think that it is the answer to their demands. You may also like advertising plan examples .

4. Set a daily target for the number of potential customers you must engage.

If you have an idea of the typical closing ratio for your business, use that number to determine how many prospects you need to see and how many chances of closing a deal you need to create to meet your target. For example, your average closing rate is one out of five. If your goal is two customers a day, then you would need to engage with at least ten people to get the chance of acquiring those two sales. You may also check out marketing strategy plan examples .

Sales is a numbers game. Oftentimes, it only takes a thorough understanding of the figures relevant to your sales goals and finding the required number of prospects to get to the number you are aiming for, and more.

5. Create a rewards system for meeting goals.

Although closing a deal is already a sweet reward in itself, salespeople need something a little more substantial than that. (We all do.)

If you are a manager, offering incentives to your hardworking team can motivate them to propel harder toward meeting your weekly sales goal. If you are a salesperson who just achieved her quota, pat yourself on the back and treat yourself to something. This can keep you inspired to work even harder. You might be interested in real estate development marketing plan examples .

6. Chart your progress and keep careful records.

By writing your goal down and reviewing it daily, you can achieve a practiced focus that will keep you moving forward. Also, it will let you know just how much you have improved or slackened. Keeping record of your own performance will help you assess yourself, and who’s a better critic of you than you? You may also see business development strategy plan examples .

The most important aspect of a weekly sales plan is understanding where you want to find yourself in at the end of the week. Once you’ve identified this, you can then start working to get there. But the excursion will no longer be so difficult because you already have a sketch of how you can arrive at your destination. Perks, right? You may also see action plan examples .

Climate Action Plan Task Force Chair Pam Morgan presents Kennebunkport’s Climate Action Plan to a packed Select Board meeting on March 28. Eloise Goldsmith photo

KENNEBUNKPORT – “We are contemplating a Soviet Politburo style policy in a small town, which will not change the weather or the climate,” said resident Bob Domine.

That’s only a sampling of the strong feelings generated by Kennebunkport’s landmark Climate Action Plan, which was up for a vote at the March 28 Select Board meeting. An amended version of the plan was unanimously approved by the Select Board — but not without dissent.

The vote was a victory for those who want more town-led action around climate change and for the Climate Action Plan Task Force, which has worked on the plan for over 12 months. The plan includes a recommendation to create a dedicated committee in order “to make sure that all of the things that we have in the plan are addressed and are not put on the shelf,” according to Task Force Chair Pam Morgan.

The plan is a set of strategies for the town to achieve greater resilience to the climate emergency – for example, managing the impacts of saltwater intrusion on water sources and sewer and septic systems and encouraging the installation of EV chargers. The plan also better positions the town to receive state and federal grants.

The Climate Action Plan Task Force, a group of six residents and two Select Board representatives, received assistance from the Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission during the process. The group also held public hearings, met with the business community , and put out a survey in order to get a sense of the community priorities.

Both the town’s Comprehensive Plan and a set of climate goals adopted by the Select Board in 2020 served as the foundation for the plan. Advertisement

Community members have expressed a range of reactions to the plan. In a show of strong feelings on both sides, some 70 people attended the Select Board meeting, in person and on Zoom.

The work of coming up with the plan coincided with a series of extreme weather events that has left Kennebunkport and other coastal Maine

towns reeling – including a recent ice storm that caused multiple-day power outages for thousands in York County. Kennebunkport was also hit hard by two storms in January that brought $850,000 in public infrastructure damage , flooding to local businesses, and damage to Goose Rocks Beach.

The plan is a set of goals only, and is not binding. Any strategies that require town funding would need to go through the budget approval process and strategies that prompt ordinance revision would need to go through the Select Board – though at a recent meeting some Select Board members questioned whether the plan may go too far in the way of “requiring” action, as opposed to just suggesting it.

“Some of the time the word is ‘recommend,’ and other times it’s ‘require,’” said Select Board Member Sheila Matthews-Bull at a January Select Board meeting. “I don’t believe we’re in a position yet where we’re requiring things. We can suggest to people ‘this is the best way to do it, we think this is the way.’ But I don’t think we should be saying ‘we require you to do (something).’”

The version of the plan approved on March 28 included a shorter list of goals than the version originally drafted. It also removed the word “require.” Advertisement

“After that (January meeting), the message to the Task Force was that we needed to simplify and remove mandates from the list of strategies that we had developed,” Morgan told the Select Board and the crowd at the March 28 meeting.

Even so, the issue came up again. Multiple members of the public were concerned that the plan is a set of recommendations for now, but could lead to requirements down the road.

Others, including two Kennebunkport business owners, urged the Select Board to vote yes on the plan.

“My shop on Dock Square has flooded three times in 2024. Extreme weather is real. We need to plan for a future that inspires families to choose to live here, and businesses to grow here. And I hope you will vote for this plan,” said Tanya Alsberg.

The final document includes 19 strategies (the earlier version had 26) broken out into nine categories, which are: creating resilient infrastructure; creating energy resiliency to safeguard critical services; ensuring community resilience and disaster preparedness for extreme weather; increasing sustainability and resilient development; protecting natural resources; building in a more energy efficient way to reduce emissions; and supporting electric vehicles and reducing car use.

The Task Force also added rough cost estimates to each of the strategies in order to give a sense of how much of an undertaking they would be. This was in response to comments Select Board members at the meeting in January. Select Board Chair Mike Weston said in January that he was ambivalent about voting for the plan and committing the town to goals if he wasn’t sure what their cost and impact would be. Advertisement

In the end, the Select Board did approve the plan, but opted to remove one of the goals, a recommendation to “Consider hazard disclosure for property transactions.”

“We’re starting to get into property rights,” said Select Board Member Marybeth Gilbert in explaining her opposition to the item. She said that she personally felt this goal went too far in the way of imposing town oversight of private property transactions.

As far back as 2019, the Kennebunkport Select Board has been discussing climate change related actions, including joining the Community Resilience Partnership in 2022, which gave the town the ability to apply for state and federal grants, according to Mike Weston.

Kennebunkport has successfully done that since. The town was one of the first municipalities to receive funding from the Maine Infrastructure Adaptation Fund, a chunk of state money aimed at bolstering municipalities’ climate change defenses. The town has used the $2.85 million dollar grant to raise the Pier Road Causeway; the work is set to be completed this year.

“I am so pleased that the (Select Board) came together in the end to unanimously support the Climate Action Plan for Kennebunkport,” said Morgan. “The Task Force worked very hard to craft a set of strategies that everyone could agree to. Given the enormous climate impacts the town is facing, we needed to craft a plan that the town could get behind. With a plan now in place, hopefully Kennebunkport will ramp up its efforts to prepare for what is coming and to do its parts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

Town Manager Laurie Smith’s budget for the coming fiscal year includes allocating $500,000 for climate resiliency projects – including earmarking the necessary local match for accessing state grants.

Biden plans to visit Baltimore next week after devastating bridge collapse

Joe Biden departs the White House

BALTIMORE — President Joe Biden on Friday told reporters that he plans to head next week to Baltimore, the site of a deadly bridge collapse .

Speaking to reporters as he deplaned Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews following several campaign stops on Thursday and Friday in New York, the president said, "I'm going to Baltimore next week."

The Maryland city is the site of a major bridge collapse that happened in the early morning hours on Tuesday after the cargo ship Dali struck a support pillar on the Francis Scott Key bridge after losing power.

Six construction workers who were on the bridge as it was struck have died following the incident.

On Tuesday, Biden told reporters that he told Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and other state officials that, "we’re going to send all the federal resources they need as we respond to this emergency, and I mean all the federal resources. And we’re going to rebuild that port together."

He also called the incident a "terrible accident" and confirmed that there was no evidence that the ship intentionally struck the bridge.

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg was in Baltimore with Maryland officials on Tuesday. During a press briefing Wednesday at the White House told Buttigieg reporters, "From the very beginning [Biden] has been acting to make sure that we have a whole-of-government response to support the people of Baltimore."

On Thursday, Moore spoke about the six victims , saying, "They were fathers, they were sons, they were husbands, They were people who their families relied on."

Israel cancels diplomatic visit to U.S. after U.N. vote demanding cease-fire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday canceled a trip to Washington by an Israeli delegation of top officials after the United Nations Security Council passed its first resolution calling for a Gaza cease-fire. The United States abstained, allowing it to pass. The resolution, backed by 14 nations including China and Russia, demands an immediate cease-fire during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and the release of all hostages. Four previous cease-fire resolutions had failed, including one proposed by the United States on Friday.

Israel-Gaza war

President Biden issued a rare direct rebuke of Israel for creating the conditions that have made the distribution of aid inside Gaza so difficult and deadly, following the strike that killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza . Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel “deeply regrets” the incident.

Israel-Gaza war: On Oct. 7, Hamas militants launched an unprecedented cross-border attack on Israel that included the taking of civilian hostages at a music festival . Israel declared war on Hamas in response, launching a ground invasion that fueled the biggest displacement in the region since Israel’s creation in 1948 .

Gaza crisis: In Gaza, Israel has waged one of this century’s most destructive wars , killing tens of thousands and plunging at least half of the population into “ famine-like conditions. ” For months, Israel has resisted pressure from Western allies to allow more humanitarian aid into the enclave .

U.S. involvement: Despite the tensions between some U.S. politicians , including President Biden, and Netanyahu, the United States supports Israel with weapons , funds aid packages , and has vetoed or abstained from U.N. cease-fire resolutions.

US Officials to Pressure Dutch Government on China Chip Curbs

(Bloomberg) -- Senior US officials plan to visit the Netherlands next week to pressure the Dutch government to toughen its China chip equipment curbs, as the Biden administration ramps up its campaign to thwart Beijing’s technology ambitions.

US Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Alan Estevez, who’s responsible for implementing export controls, will be part of the delegation, according to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity as the information is not yet public. Officials from the White House National Security Council will join Estevez, one of the people said.

Washington is pushing allies including the Netherlands to further tighten restrictions on China’s access to semiconductor technology to plug holes in export controls it’s levied against Chinese firms over the past two years, Bloomberg News reported last month.

Biden officials are urging the Netherlands to stop ASML Holding NV from servicing and repairing sensitive chip-making equipment that Chinese clients purchased before limits on sales of those devices were put into place this year. Estevez said in late March that the US indeed is pushing for allies to tighten servicing for semiconductor machines in China.

A Dutch Foreign Trade Ministry spokesperson confirmed the meeting was set for Monday. The spokesperson added that while the Netherlands has good relations with its partners, each country must make its own decisions based on technological and geopolitical developments.

Spokespeople for the US Department of Commerce and White House didn’t immediately response to requests for comment, while a spokesperson for ASML declined to comment. Reuters reported plans for the visit earlier Thursday.

Washington has restricted US chip equipment suppliers including Applied Materials Inc. from servicing their equipment deployed at blacklisted Chinese entities. The Netherlands, meanwhile, does not have similar bans on its companies.

China has been vocal about the US-led campaign to limit its access to critical technologies. Chinese President Xi Jinping criticized “technological barriers” during Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s visit to Beijing late last month.
