WILDPARK NORDMANN

Zum Reit- und Sporthotel NORDMANN gehört auch unser Jagd & Wildpark NORDMANN.Dieser beherbergt einheimische Wildarten wie Rotwild, Damwild, Schwarzwild und Muffelwild sowie das Schaugehege für unsere Bisons. Wer es exotischer mag, findet Strauße, Kamele und Alpakas vor.Außerhalb unseres Wildparks können Sie neben Naturrinderrassen wie Highlander, Galloway und Steppenrind auch die Urgewalt der größten Bisonherde Deutschlands bestaunen.All unsere Tiere werden artgerecht und ganzjährig in großzügigen Gehegen gehalten. So lassen sich die Tiere fast wie in freier Wildbahn beobachten, finden aber gleichzeitig die notwendigen Rückzugsmöglichkeiten.

Folge den Spuren der Natur und erlebe auf der NORDMANN Safari 1.300 wilde einheimische aber auch exotische Tiere aus unterschiedlichen Ländern in einer naturnahen Umgebung. Fahren Sie mit dem Unimog unter der Regie unserer erfahrenen Safari-Guides und erfahren Sie alles über unsere Wildtiere und unsere Region. Auf der zehn Kilometer langen Reise begegnen Ihnen unter anderem einheimische Wildarten wie Rotwild, Damwild, Schwarzwild und Muffelwild aber auch Strauße und Kamele.

WILDPARK RUNDWEG

Der 3 km lange Wildpark-Wanderrundweg mit leichten Steigungen beginnt direkt am Hotelparkplatz. Vorbei am Kinder-Kletterspielplatz entlang des Baches „Eine“ geht es zum Trophäenhaus und dem anschließenden Schwarzwildgehege. Über die Aussichtsplattform „Saukopf“ erreichen Sie den Rastplatz „Teichblick“ von wo aus der NORDMANN Teich zu sehen ist und das Damwildgehege.

Weiter geht es über den Steinbruch und das Steinwildgehege zum Steinbockgipfel. An der Gangloffeiche beginnt das Gehege von Rotwild, Muffel- und Sikarwild. Im Anschluss passiert der Weg das Straußenhaus und Kamelgehege und lädt an der Aussichtsstelle „Hotelblick“ zum Ruhen ein.

Ein besonderes Highlight, nicht nur für die Kleinen, ist kurz vor dem Ziel das Streichelgehege mit Ziegen und Schafen.

 Eintrittskarten gibt es am Automaten am Hotelparkplatz oder an der Hotelrezeption für 5 € pro Person.

Die Eintrittskarte für Übernachtungsgäste ist während des gesamten Aufenthaltes gültig.

Das Mitführen von Hunden ist im Wildpark NORDMANN leider nicht gestattet.

• Wildpark Nordmann

Der Wildpark Nordmann befindet sich am östlichen Harzrand in dem staatlich anerkannten Erholungsort Stangerode. Im wunderschönen Einetal gelegen, beherbergt der Park auf rund 300 Hektar eine große Zahl einheimischer und exotischer Tiere. Die Gehege sind weitläufig und artgerecht angelegt, um den tierischen Bewohnern genügend Auslauf und Rückzugsorte zu ermöglichen.

Neben verschiedenen Naturrinderrassen wir Highlander, Galloway und Steppenrind findet auch Deutschlands größte Bisonherde im Wildpark Nordmann ein zu Hause. Die Rund- und Wanderwege führen auch an Gehegen mit einheimischen Arten wie Rotwild, Damwild, Schwarzwild und Muffelwild vorbei. Steinböcke fühlen sich im felsigen Steinwildgehege wohl, während Sikahirsche über ausgedehnte Wiesen streifen. Mit Straußen, Kamelen und Alpakas können die Besucher zudem exotischere Arten entdecken. Bemerkenswert ist der Wisentbestand des Wildparks, da diese Tierart von Aussterben bedroht ist.

Es wurden verschiedene asphaltierte Rund- und Wanderwege angelegt, um den Wildpark Nordmann zu erkunden. Der 3 Kilometer lange Rundweg führt an allen tierischen Stationen sowie an einem Spielplatz vorbei. Am Ende warten darüber hinaus Ziegen und Schafe in einem begehbaren Gehege auf Streicheleinheiten. Die Wisent-Route führt auf rund 5 Kilometer und die Uhu-Route auf gut 8 Kilometern durch den Wildpark. Die 13 Kilometer lange Bären-Route ist vor allem für Geschichtsinteressierte ein Highlight, da sie an der Grenze zwischen dem Königreich Preußen und dem Herzogtum Anhalt entlangführt.

Gut zu wissen

Der Eingang zum Wildpark Nordmann befindet sich am Parkplatz des Reit- und Sporthotels Nordmann in Stangerode. Hier können auch die Eintrittskarten an einem Automaten erworben werden. Das Mitführen von Hunden ist im Park nicht gestattet.

Am Bisongehe des Wildparks Nordmann befindet sich eine Stempelstelle der Harzer Wandernadel .

Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet mit einer großen und frischen Auswahl. Es blieb kein Wunsch offen.

Sehr guter Service, freundliches Personal, viele Unternehmungsmöglichkeiten. Die Restaurants bieten ein abwechslungsreiches Angebot, Frühstück ist sehr gut und bietet alles was man sich wünscht. Das Fleisch und die Wurst von den Wildtieren ist in super Bioqualität. An

Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig. Die Zimmer sind sehr rustikal eingerichtet, was sicher zum Stil des Hotels passt, aber die Zimmer eher ungemütlich wirken lassen (z.B. Fliesenboden).

Schöner Wellness-Bereich, Kapsel-Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer, gutes Frühstück

Besonders gefallen hat uns, dass wir das Hotel und den Ort drei Tage nicht verlassen mussten, da das Hotel so vielfältige Beschäftigungs- und Erholungsmöglichkeiten anbietet. Ein Highlight war die Safari. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ausgesprochen vielfältig und hochwertig und die Qualität des Restaurants insgesamt auf sehr hohem Niveau.

Ein ganz toller Wellnessbereich mit nettem Personal.

Het Reit- und Sporthotel Nordmann is gevestigd in een privé wildpark met vele inheemse soorten, waaronder bizons. Het ligt temidden van het schilderachtige landschap van het Nationale Park Harz. Er worden uitgebreide paardrijd- en safariactiviteiten aangeboden bij het hotel. Zowel de historische stad Leipzig en de luchthaven Leipzig / Halle liggen op minder dan 90 minuten rijden met de auto. Why were so many metro stations in Moscow renamed?

The Moscow metro system has 275 stations, and 28 of them have been renamed at some point or other—and several times in some cases. Most of these are the oldest stations, which opened in 1935.

The politics of place names

The first station to change its name was Ulitsa Kominterna (Comintern Street). The Comintern was an international communist organization that ceased to exist in 1943, and after the war Moscow authorities decided to call the street named after it something else. In 1946, the station was renamed Kalininskaya. Then for several days in 1990, the station was called Vozdvizhenka, before eventually settling on Aleksandrovsky Sad, which is what it is called today.

Until 1957, Kropotkinskaya station was called Dvorets Sovetov ( Palace of Soviets ). There were plans to build a monumental Stalinist high-rise on the site of the nearby Cathedral of Christ the Saviour , which had been demolished. However, the project never got off the ground, and after Stalin's death the station was named after Kropotkinskaya Street, which passes above it.

Of course, politics was the main reason for changing station names. Initially, the Moscow Metro itself was named after Lazar Kaganovich, Joseph Stalin’s right-hand man. Kaganovich supervised the construction of the first metro line and was in charge of drawing up a master plan for reconstructing Moscow as the "capital of the proletariat."

In 1955, under Nikita Khrushchev's rule and during the denunciation of Stalin's personality cult, the Moscow Metro was named in honor of Vladimir Lenin.

New Metro stations that have been opened since the collapse of the Soviet Union simply say "Moscow Metro," although the metro's affiliation with Vladimir Lenin has never officially been dropped.

Zyablikovo station. On the entrance, there are no more signs that the metro is named after Lenin.

Stations that bore the names of Stalin's associates were also renamed under Khrushchev. Additionally, some stations were named after a neighborhood or street and if these underwent name changes, the stations themselves had to be renamed as well.

Until 1961 the Moscow Metro had a Stalinskaya station that was adorned by a five-meter statue of the supreme leader. It is now called Semyonovskaya station.

The biggest wholesale renaming of stations took place in 1990, when Moscow’s government decided to get rid of Soviet names. Overnight, 11 metro stations named after revolutionaries were given new names. Shcherbakovskaya became Alekseyevskaya, Gorkovskaya became Tverskaya, Ploshchad Nogina became Kitay-Gorod and Kirovskaya turned into Chistye Prudy. This seriously confused passengers, to put it mildly, and some older Muscovites still call Lubyanka station Dzerzhinskaya for old times' sake.

At the same time, certain stations have held onto their Soviet names. Marksistskaya and Kropotkinskaya, for instance, although there were plans to rename them too at one point.

"I still sometimes mix up Teatralnaya and Tverskaya stations,” one Moscow resident recalls .

 “Both have been renamed and both start with a ‘T.’ Vykhino still grates on the ear and, when in 1991 on the last day of my final year at school, we went to Kitay-Gorod to go on the river cruise boats, my classmates couldn’t believe that a station with that name existed."

The city government submitted a station name change for public discussion for the first time in 2015. The station in question was Voykovskaya, whose name derives from the revolutionary figure Pyotr Voykov. In the end, city residents voted against the name change, evidently not out of any affection for Voykov personally, but mainly because that was the name they were used to.

What stations changed their name most frequently?

Some stations have changed names three times. Apart from the above-mentioned Aleksandrovsky Sad (Ulitsa Kominterna->Kalininskaya->Vozdvizhenka->Aleksandrovsky Sad), a similar fate befell Partizanskaya station in the east of Moscow. Opened in 1944, it initially bore the ridiculously long name Izmaylovsky PKiO im. Stalina (Izmaylovsky Park of Culture and Rest Named After Stalin). In 1947, the station was renamed and simplified for convenience to Izmaylovskaya. Then in 1963 it was renamed yet again—this time to Izmaylovsky Park, having "donated" its previous name to the next station on the line. And in 2005 it was rechristened Partizanskaya to mark the 60th anniversary of victory in World War II.

Another interesting story involves Alekseyevskaya metro station. This name was originally proposed for the station, which opened in 1958, since a village with this name had been located here. It was then decided to call the station Shcherbakovskaya in honor of Aleksandr Shcherbakov, a politician who had been an associate of Stalin. Nikita Khrushchev had strained relations with Shcherbakov, however, and when he got word of it literally a few days before the station opening the builders had to hastily change all the signs. It ended up with the concise and politically correct name of Mir (Peace).

The name Shcherbakovskaya was restored in 1966 after Khrushchev's fall from power. It then became Alekseyevskaya in 1990.

But the station that holds the record for the most name changes is Okhotny Ryad, which opened in 1935 on the site of a cluster of market shops. When the metro system was renamed in honor of Lenin in 1955, this station was renamed after Kaganovich by way of compensation. The name lasted just two years though because in 1957 Kaganovich fell out of favor with Khrushchev, and the previous name was returned. But in 1961 it was rechristened yet again, this time in honor of Prospekt Marksa, which had just been built nearby.

In 1990, two historical street names—Teatralny Proyezd and Mokhovaya Street—were revived to replace Prospekt Marksa, and the station once again became Okhotny Ryad.

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.
