Six Reasons Why Going To Gigs Alone Is The Best

So you want to go see that metalcore band you love but none of your friends like that “shouty” music? Or you REALLY want to go check out that new artist on TikTok you discovered but all your mates won’t go to a gig where they only know one song? Or worse, your group of friends cannot get themselves organized and work out which show and when to go on a tour, so you’re worried you’ll miss out on tickets. Let them be miserable and start living your best life by going to concerts by yourself. Trust us, it’ll be the best thing you’ll ever do!

Going to gigs alone can be daunting. What am I going to do with myself in between sets? Are people going to think I’m weird? Why would I not want to share the experience?

Listen, we are all for sharing the experience, but sometimes it’s either missing out or going alone, and in those cases we definitely recommend going alone. Here’s a few reasons why you’ll never regret it once you build up the courage to go through with it.

1 . See artists you really REALLY want to see

Imagine the FOMO of missing your favourite band on their new tour, hearing all those new songs live, seeing everyone post about it. Don’t let that happen, and get that ticket. Plus you then get to tell the pals who didn’t want to come how you saw that band or artist before they blew up or how they played that one B-side track that everyone loves – now who has FOMO?

2. Meet new friends

It’s no secret that music brings people together. That moment when everyone’s favourite ballad hits and there’s not a dry eye in the building, you turn to your left or right and suddenly you bond with a stranger over your favourite song. For the metalheads, we also recommend mosh pits, follow the rules of the pit but what a way to make new friends!

3. The freedom

Now hear us out – but going to a gig alone means you can get to the venue when you want, you can go to the loos when you want, you can stand in line at the merch for hours and no one will ask if you’re sure you want to wait. And no one will drag you home when you want to wait after the show has finished and find every piece of confetti or ask for the setlist.

4 . It’s a cult

You are not alone in going to gigs by yourself, you’d probably be surprised by how many people do the same thing. Some fan groups even have entire sub cultures of going to gigs alone (shoutout to Frank Turner’s solo armada, we see you!) – bringing us back to reason #2, new friends.

5. Confidence boost

Going to a gig by yourself will do wonders for your confidence. Sure the first time might feel a bit awkward and weird, but isn’t it always? Remember your first day of school? And then it was kind of okay after a while (let’s ignore our teenage years…) Once you’ve done it and experience all of the divinity of a solo gig you’ll feel free as a bird.

6. Experience the music your way

Whether you love hanging out by the bar, need to be front row, prefer seats or want to leave a bit earlier to catch the last train – the world is your oyster! The experience is yours, you don’t need to coordinate with someone else, rely on them to enjoy the show as much as you are and have as much of a good time as you are. And frankly, if you took a chance on a new genre or new artist and it isn’t your vibe, you can just go home. Glorious.

So there you have it – doesn’t sound too bad now does it?! At the end of the day it all comes down to you and your artist, a concert will always be a shared experience whether with strangers or friends. The most important thing to do is have fun.

Your next gig awaits

It all starts here.

Create memories to last a lifetime

Whether it’s your favourite band, an evening with friends, discovering new artists or the seventh show on the tour, we are your go-to home for all things live music.

Don’t miss out on the biggest announcement and keep checking back for latest news and last chance tickets.

A 90s-inspired R&B trio from London.

Flo

Bonding over their shared passion for classic and new R&B, London-based girl group FLO (Renée Downer, Stella Quaresma and Jorja Douglas) went viral with their extraordinary 2022 debut single, “Cardboard Box.” Fusing the classic old-school R&B artists they still love — Mariah Carey, Brandy, Whitney Houston, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, Aaliyah, and Mýa — with contemporary artists like Jazmine Sullivan, H.E.R, Frank Ocean, and SZA, FLO’s love for honeyed harmonies and rich emotion has already seen them cultivate a loyal following on TikTok (120,000 followers and over 4.1m likes).

Pop glory star raised on a diet of classic rock and big riffs.

Dylan

Fresh off of a UK stadium tour in support of Grammy winner Ed Sheeran, which included five sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, Dylan released her first single for Island Records, “Girl of your Dreams,” in 2022. The track is defined by a reckless sense of momentum, seamlessly merging alt-rock and pop sensibilities to create a sound that is unmistakably Dylan. Already garnering praise from MTV, Vogue Italia, The Line of Best Fit, and BBC Introducing, Dylan has opened for artists including Yungblud, Bastille, Ed Sheeran, and Tate McRae, inspiring an incredibly loyal and passionate fanbase along the way.

Joyce Cisse, better known as alt-pop newcomer flowerovlove , is only 17 years old and already making waves in the music industry. The flower child is nothing short of genius when it comes to combining her loves of music, nature and fashion, having already collaborated with brands such as Gucci and Pangaia. She uses the symbolism of a flower to touch people’s hearts, take over their headphones, and draw attention to sustainability and the importance of preserving the earth around us.

Los Angeles-based R&B/soul gospel band.

Gabriels

Comprising Compton-born gospel singer Jacob Lusk, UK-born producer/keyboardist Ryan Hope and Los Angeles native producer/composer and violinist Ari Balouzian, Gabriels quickly became one of the most talked about new acts around after playing in basements throughout London in winter 2021. Fusing R&B, soul and rock, the group has found fans in the likes of Elton John, David Byrne and Celeste. Their highly anticipated debut album, Angels & Queens — Part 1 , was released in 2022 and produced by Grammy winner Sounwave (Kendrick Lamar, Chloe x Halle, Beyoncé). Influenced by an eclectic mix of artists — from James Brown and Nas to Tyler, The Creator, the Sex Pistols, Gorillaz, and Portishead, Willow Kayne is as at home spitting a quick-witted come-back as she is cooing melismatically over silky R&B chords. A recipient of the 2021 Ivor Novello Rising Star Award, Willow Kayen is a chameleonic talent with a vast creative vision.

Los Angeles-based alt-rocker singer/songwriter.

Blondshell

Blondshell is the angriest, clearest and most vulnerable side of Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Sabrina Teitelbaum. Growing up in the early 2000s in New York City, Teitelbaum sought comfort in the music of legends like Patti Smith, Joy Division and the Velvet Underground. Teitelbaum quickly learned to tell her own stories through songwriting and found relief in confessional lyricism. Over wailing guitars and a masterful sense of melody, Blondshell sings about getting saved “not by Jesus but by validation.” Although her tones are predominantly dark and brooding, there is a bright sense of hope that shines through her adventurous song structures and undeniable hooks.

The Heavy Heavy

Brighton’s dazed psychedelic rock band.

The Heavy Heavy

The Heavy Heavy is a band from Brighton, UK, led by Will Turner and Georgie Fuller. They resurrect the forgotten music of the 1960s with bombastic soul and reverberant harmonies. Springing from the roots of the Malvern Hills and Sussex Downs, The Heavy Heavy create the kind of unfettered rock and roll that warps time and place, breathing new life into sounds from decades ago.

Italian-Congolese Rumbian singer/songwriter and producer.

Sans Soucis

Sans Soucis (she/they) makes music that invigorates the soul. Born out of a desire to reconnect with the uninhibited joyfulness and authenticity of childhood that all of us lose as we grow older, their music is a radical act of reclamation. Free from the constraints of genre and with a wide gamut of sonic touchstones — from the effervescent electronics of Little Dragon, Solange Knowles’ alt-R&B, the emotional edge of Joni Mitchell, and the robust pop melodies of Rihanna — Sans Soucis’ world is one overflowing with vibrant musical textures, pertinent lyrics and a refreshing dose of hopefulness.

Playful rapper from West London.

The Who Hits Back!

"Having not toured the UK for six years, it's great that at this time of our careers we have the chance to go to places that are not on the usual touring map Edinburgh Castle and Derby, as well as the other cities across the country that we haven't been to for decades, will make this very special for me," said Who frontman Roger Daltrey.

"This opportunity will give our UK Who fans the chance to hear our current show, which, with the addition of an orchestra, takes our music to new heights."

The Who with violinist Katie Jacoby on The Who Hits Back! tour

Guitarist Pete Townshend added: "Roger initially christened this tour with an orchestra Moving On! I love it. It is what both of us want to do.

"Move on, with new music, classic Who music, all performed in new and exciting ways. Taking risks, nothing to lose. I'm really looking forward to bringing this show to the UK."

As well as Daltrey and Townshend, The Who's touring lineup for this year's shows includes guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls.

The orchestra is conducted by Keith Levenson and features lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Snyder.

Onsale dates, ticket prices and more for one of the summer's biggest stadium tours.

By Joe Goggins

Beyoncé press shot, 2023

Last week (February 1), Beyoncé announced that she will return to the UK for the first time since her ‘On the Run II’ tour with Jay-Z in 2018, and for the first time as a solo artist since 2016. She will play stadium dates in England, Scotland and Wales in May and June in support of Renaissance , her fourth UK number one album.

The dates come as part of a wider European tour that kicks off in Stockholm on May 10. She will play Brussels, Paris, Lyon, Barcelona, Marseille, Cologne, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Warsaw on the jaunt. On the back of Beyoncé becoming the most successful artist in the history of the Grammy Awards at last night’s (February 5) ceremony, find out all you need to know about her visit to the UK here.

Where in the UK is Beyoncé playing?

The ‘Break My Soul’ star heads first for Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on May 17, for a third appearance there after previous visits in 2016 and 2018. She then heads to Scotland, and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, on May 20, for what will be her first ever appearance in the Scottish capital, not counting a performance with Sean Paul at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2003. Then, she’ll travel south of the border to Sunderland, and the Stadium of Light, on May 23; she played there on the Formation World Tour in 2016. The UK leg will wrap up in North London at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a three-night stand on May 29, 30 and June 2.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour UK setlist and surprise song predictions

Taylor Swift in a white dress performing onstage on the Eras Tour

The Lover House is burned down, Speak Now is fighting for her life, and we’re all afraid of little old Taylor Swift as she brings the Eras Tour to the UK, with the nation preparing for her first concert tonight.

The 34-year-old’s mammoth three-and-a-half-hour set has sold out arenas in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and six shows in London, kicking off in Edinburgh on Friday night.

UK-based Swifties have really gone all out, with Capital FM releasing a radio station dedicated to the All Too Well icon.

Paris night one revealed an entirely new tour version as the Tortured Poets Department took centre stage and the entire Eras Tour was changed, from bodysuits to choreography.

Fans had already speculated there might be a switch up after she released the Eras Tour film before her tour had finished but this was more than our wildest dreams.

It’s no surprise that Taylor has added in the new album but as the Eras Tour was already incredibly long, some songs were left on the cutting room floor.

Taylor Swift performing on stage beneath a spaceship prop

The Archer, tis the damn season, and even the last great American dynasty were all brutally ripped from the setlist.

New glittering bodysuits and dresses were rolled out for every era except Reputation, which is the last in the album in the show to get its Taylor’s Version.

So far no vault track appears on her main setlist, only core album songs have a permanent place on the Eras Tour.

Swifties have been left in utter disbelief as Folklore and Evermore were combined into one era, known as the sisters era, to keep the time down.

Speak Now was reduced back down to one song — RIP Long Live — and debut remains reserved for surprise songs in the acoustic set.

Taylor Swift performing onstage in a bejewelled orange leotard

Let’s be honest Taylor could perform for six hours and fans would still want more but even she would probably find that exhausting.

After so much upheaval, let’s see what Taylor Swift’s setlist has been left looking like and what that means for the UK.

We’re still going strong opening with Lover but even her seventh studio album and big opener couldn’t survive Taylor’s great setlist war. We’ll miss you, The Archer.

  • Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince
  • Cruel Summer
  • You Need To Calm Down

Fearless Era

The album that made her a superstar remains unscathed but since there were only three songs for this era it’s hardly surprising.

However, a new tasselled bodysuit was revealed and it looks incredibly similar to one worn on the Our Song hitmaker’s original Fearless tour in 2009.

  • You Belong With Me

I’m never recovering from this pic.twitter.com/rNTY9smbVH — B R I T T A N Y 🤍 (@sobrittgoes) May 9, 2024

In a position switch up, the setlist now moved from Fearless into Red instead of Evermore but the songs remain unchanged and All Too Well remains firmly in pride of place.

  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
  • I Knew You Were Trouble
  • All Too Well (10 Minute Version)

Speak Now Era

Justice for Speak Now, already balding but now scalped as Long Live has been once more removed.

We’re begging Taylor, I will sacrifice I Knew You Were Trouble for just one more purple-painted dream.

Taylor Swift looking surprised speaking to a fan during The Era's tour

Reputation Era

Yet to have its Taylor’s Version released, Reputation remains unchanged on the mammoth set but has been moved to after Red and Speak Now rather than before.

It’s also the only section that has not had an outfit change, the day that red and black bodysuit goes we’re all going to lose our minds.

  • …Ready For It?
  • Don’t Blame Me
  • Look What You Made Me Do

Folklore/Evermore Era

Once separate totalling 12 songs, Taylor’s lockdown albums have been combined into one – with a lot of casualties.

‘We have reunited the sister albums,’ the singer told the Paris crowd, joking it could be called ‘everlore’ or ‘folkmore’.

Removed from the setlist are: Tis the damn season, the last great American dynasty, invisible string, and tolerate it.

  • Cardigan (folklore)
  • Betty (folklore)
  • Champagne Problems (evermore)
  • August (folklore)
  • Illicit Affairs (folklore)
  • My Tears Ricochet (folklore)
  • Marjorie (evermore)
  • Willow (evermore)

Mother’s favourite child remains safe and sound with no changes and still following the Folklore set. Honestly, we would have loved to see some of this swapped out for the vault tracks which stormed the charts last year.

Bad Blood remains on the setlist, we wonder if Kendrick Lamar is free to come do a surprise live feature…

  • Blank Space
  • Shake It Off
  • Wildest Dreams

The Tortured Poets Department

Initially, Swifties weren’t sure if this would be added and if so how could the 31 tracks possibly be whittled down into just a handful?

A new era brings blessings of brand new outfits, a floating stage set piece, gunshot choreography, and of course some insane vocal moments.

Taylor has spoken and these are (probably) her favourites off TTPD.

  • But Daddy I Love Him
  • So High School
  • Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me
  • The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  • I Can Do It with a Broken Heart

The stage she’s gliding around on during Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me? IS A MIRROR!!!!! The audience can see themself in the mirror as she’s singing “You caged me and then you called me crazy. Surprise songs

Each night Taylor plays two surprise songs from her vast discography, these have included This Love and Clean from 1989 and Dear John and Last Kiss from Speak Now.

Also known as the acoustic set, Paris Night One fans were (obviously) treated to Paris from her album Midnights played on piano and loml on guitar from TTPD.

In this leg of the tour, Taylor has taken to singing some gut-wrenching mashups and announced she could sing whatever she wanted so any song is on the table.

There are some songs it’s likely she’ll reserve for London, such as London Boy and So Long, London but the rest as up for grabs.

Since the slate was wiped clean with this new leg, and Taylor’s penchant for singing You’re On Your Own Kid repeatedly, there’s no way to predict the Mastermind’s moves.

this might be the best midnights bodysuit yet pic.twitter.com/edqJw45yYC — Tayvis Nation 🏈🫶🏻 (@tayvisnation) May 9, 2024

Midnights Era

Closing out the show is the iconic era which gave us ‘Karma is the guy on the chiefs ’ and that chair choreography — Midnights.

Her 2022 album gets sparkling new outfits, although the Lavender Haze fluffy lilac jacket has not been swapped out.

  • Lavender Haze
  • Midnight Rain
  • Vigilante Shit

What is the old Eras Tour setlist?

With so many changes, here’s what Taylor’s Eras Tour used to look like for a setlist run

  • tis the damn season
  • champagne problems
  • tolerate it
  • invisible string
  • the last great american dynasty
  • illicit affairs
  • my tears ricochet

When is the Eras Tour in the UK?

The Eras Tour comes to the UK from tonight , beginning in Edinburgh for three nights before heading to Liverpool, Cardiff, and London .

Who knows what Taylor will have in store for fans given her love for keeping everyone on their toes.

Given the huge overhaul, this is likely to be the setlist for the UK gigs and all her European dates but might have minor tweaks thrown in.

Of course, if you’re sad your favourite track is not on there is always a chance it could be one of the surprise songs as she has no rules around what she can and can’t sing here.

We’re hoping for Picture to Burn, Suburban Legends, The Black Dog , or Hits Different but that tells you far too much about us.

What is Paramore's Eras Tour setlist?

The iconic pop punk band Paramore will be opening for Taylor Swift at the UK gigs and they revealed their setlist in Paris.

Of course, it is much shorter but still packed with hits from the chart-topping band, fronted by Taylor’s long time friend Hayley Williams.

  • Hard Times (+ Heart Of Glass)
  • Burning Down The House
  • Still Into You
  • Caught In The Middle
  • Brick By Boring Brick
  • The Only Exception
  • That’s What You Get
  • Ain’t It Fun
  • This Is Why

Glastonbury, the world’s most famous music festival, returns this month and will see thousands of fans flocking to Worthy Farm in Somerset.

Co-organiser Emily Eavis and her team are preparing to welcome revellers to the site and play host to some of the biggest artists across pop, rock, indie, R&B, rap, punk and soul.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the big weekend.

When is Glastonbury 2024?

The gates to Glastonbury Festival 2024 will open at around 8am Wednesday 26 June, with the event running until Sunday 30 June. The majority of the live music performances take place between 29-30 June, with many of them also shown on TV.

A word of warning: there is no entertainment or facilities in the Glastonbury car parks, and guests are expected to remain in their cars until the festival gates open. Car parks will be open from 9pm on Tuesday 25 June, allowing festival-goers to avoid the worst of the traffic and arrive through the night.

Who’s playing Glastonbury this year?

Dua Lipa is headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2024

After months of speculation and rumours that several bookings had fallen through, this year’s festival will be headlined by Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA , while country-pop superstar Shania Twain will take on the Legends Slot.

It was rumoured that Madonna was a strong contender to headline, as Eavis has previously expressed her desire to have the pop icon play the Pyramid Stage. However, The Independent understands that negotiations collapsed due to various requirements from the “Hung Up” star’s team, including the estimated cost of putting on a show that would match her 2024 Celebration tour.

Other rumoured artists in the running were Stevie Nicks, Cher and Stevie Wonder.

Other artists on the lineup include Avril Lavigne, Cyndi Lauper, Little Simz, Seventeen, Idles, The Last Dinner Party, Camila Cabello, Burna Boy, London Grammar, PJ Harvey, Janelle Monae, Fat White Family, Sugababes, Fatboy Slim, Michael Kiwanuka, Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, Jessie Ware and Paloma Faith.

Are there any Glastonbury 2024 tickets left and how much do they cost?

A reveller sings along as Lewis Capaldi performs on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2023

The Glastonbury resale took place in April and, due to typically high demand, sold out in just 22 minutes. The cost of getting into the 2024 festival was £360 per person including the booking fee, up from £340 last year.

Eavis justified the hike last year in a statement that said: “We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we’re facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, while still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of Covid.”

Are there any other ways to get into Glastonbury festival?

Besides the general resale, another great way to get into Glastonbury is by volunteering. Registration to volunteer for charities WaterAid and Oxfam has closed, but spaces do occasionally become available if people drop out.

Greenpeace also offers free entry to the festival and three meals a day to volunteers. In return, you are expected to work a minimum of five eight-hour shifts during the festival between 25 June and 1 July. However, applications for 2024 are now also closed.

Snoop Dogg has announced the rescheduled 2023 dates for his ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ UK and Ireland tour. The hip-hop icon will kick off the arena jaunt at Belfast’s SSE Arena on March 14, followed by dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Dublin, Leeds, and Birmingham.

Snoop will be joined by his peers and collaborators Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Obie Trice and D12. Irish rap duo Versatile are also hitting the road with the icons of the West Coast scene.

Meanwhile, Snoop and Dr. Dre have collaborated on a new album called “Missionary.” The hip-hop idols have teamed up on their first new music in three decades.

The Best Kendrick Lamar Songs: 33 Rap Essentials

He spilled in October: “Me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months.”

Asked about the sex position moniker, he replied: “The first album was ‘Doggystyle’…”

The album title confirmation comes after Eminem shared a snap in the studio with the pair in September and captioned it: “Just a few bros…hangin out.”

Snoop and Dre reunited earlier this year for an epic performance at the Super Bowl halftime show – along with Eminem , Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar . And following whispers that the pair were in the studio, Snoop told Entertainment Tonight : “We’re cooking up a little something. I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but we’re back together again.

“It’s been 30 years since we worked on a record, and we’re doin’ something, we’re workin’ on something.”

Snoop shot to fame in 1992 when he featured on Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover” and his solo LP The Chronic .

Earlier this year, Snoop bought Death Row Records, the label that launched his career. The rapper – whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr – acquired the company from MNRK Music Group for an undisclosed sum.

The 51-year-old megastar said in February: “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value. “It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”

Snoop Dogg’s UK and Ireland 2023 dates are:

Ed Sheeran beats Taylor Swift as UK's most played artist for seventh time

music uk tour 2023

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has beaten Taylor Swift as the most played artist of 2023 in the UK.

Homegrown talent dominated the list of the most popular music played in the UK across radio, TV, and in public places in a chart compiled by music licensing company PPL.

Seven out of the top 10 most played acts were British, with Sheeran named as the UK's most played for the seventh time in nine years.

The 33-year-old Yorkshire-born and Suffolk-raised musician said: “Thank you for naming me the most played artist for last year. Thank you to my team, not just for me, but for all the other artists you work with – I’m happy that you get this recognition.”

Swift, currently performing her UK leg of the Eras Tour, jumped from number 10 to two in 2023, matching her previous high in 2015.

Londoner Dua Lipa was the third most played artist in the UK last year, propelled by the success of Dance The Night from the Barbie soundtrack, according to PPL.

At number four was Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, fifth was French DJ David Guetta while pop legend Sir Elton John was at six.

Glastonbury headliners Coldplay, at number seven, were the only band in the top 10.

Bedford star Tom Grennan was a new entrant at number eight while former One Direction singer Harry Styles landed at number nine.

Madonna makes a return to the top 10, following the launch of the Celebration greatest hits world tour in London last autumn.

The most played song was named by PPL as Miley Cyrus’s break-up song Flowers, taking the top spot over Sheeran’s Eyes Closed at number two. Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi’s Forget Me was at number three.

Peter Leathem, chief executive of PPL, said: “These exclusive charts provide a snapshot of some of the most popular music being played publicly in the UK.

“As the global music market gets more competitive, it is fantastic to see that seven out of the top 10 most played acts are British.

“The charts highlight the important role broadcasters and businesses of all shapes and sizes play in supporting home-grown talent. Thanks to them, we can do our job ensuring performers and recording rights holders get paid whenever their music is used in public.”

The chart uses data from PPL licences being issued, which allows the use of recorded music on radio, TV and in public places such as shops, bars, restaurants, gyms, offices and warehouses in the UK. Airplay reporting also comes from such broadcasters and public performance venues.

The full list of most played songs in 2023, according to PPL, is as follows:

1. Flowers – Miley Cyrus

2. Eyes Closed – Ed Sheeran

3. Forget Me – Lewis Capaldi

4. Anti-Hero – Taylor Swift

5. Dance The Night – Dua Lipa

6. Miracle – Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding

7. Trustfall – P!nk

8. Waffle House – Jonas Brothers

9. Cruel Summer – Taylor Swift

10. Heaven – Niall Horan

Sir Paul McCartney fans left stunned that the age-defying star, 81, 'is still touring' - as he announces four new UK dates to his Got Back world tour

Sir Paul McCartney stunned fans as he announced four new UK dates to his Got Back world tour on Monday.

Fans couldn't get over that the veteran rocker is 'still touring' at 81-years-old, with some hailing him a 'legend and national treasure'.

The musician will bring his Got Back world tour to the United Kingdom in December as part of a newly announced set of European concerts.

And while excitement spread around Britain about his extended tour, many fans were in disbelief that the age-defying rocker isn't stopping anytime soon.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter , some commented: 'Sir Paul McCartney is going to be doing some gigs at the end of the year he’s 81 and he’s still rocking he is a Legend and National Treasure',

'Paul McCartney is 82 and still touring. Incredible',

'And I will spend every pound i’ve got',

'Worth it. He's still far better than you'd reasonably expect any 82-year-old to be and his band is phenomenal too.'

The legendary musician has been touring the United States, South America and Australia since kicking off the tour at Washington state 's Spokane Arena in April 2022.

He will now return to his home country for the first time since headlining that year's Glastonbury Festival with four shows across December.

Sir Paul will play Manchester's Co-Op Live on December 14th and 15th, followed by  two consecutive shows at London's O2 Arena on the 18th and 19th.

His last show in London was in 2018 at The O2 and his last Manchester show was in 2011 at the Manchester Evening News Arena. These UK shows will round off the Got Back tour 2024 dates.

'I'm excited to be ending my year and 2024 tour dates in the UK,' The Beatles legend said in a statement confirming the four dates.

'It's always such a special feeling to play shows on our home soil. It's going to be an amazing end to the year. Let's get set to party. I can't wait to see you.'

One of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, Sir Paul is behind the most beloved catalogue in music.

With a mixture of songs including Hey Jude, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run, and Let It Be, the Paul McCartney live experience features the best of Sir Paul’s solo, Wings and Beatles catalogues.

His 2022 Glastonbury performance was hailed as “one of the greatest gigs of all time” and “a masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure in this country’s history." It was also Sir Paul and his band’s 500th show together.

Elsewhere, Sir Paul confirmed his first 2024 live dates and revealed he’ll be taking his tour to Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru this October.

The musician has also announced shows in France and Spain. These dates will see him return for his first live performance in Paris in six years.

The wait has been longer for the people of Madrid, where he last played eight years ago, in 2016 at Estadio Vincente Calderon.

Sir Paul launched his Got Back tour in 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before performing his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022.

In 2023, he  performed 18 shows as the Got Back tour rocked through Australia, Mexico and Brazil.

According to the 2024 Sunday Times Rich List, Sir Paul is Great Britain's first billionaire musician after his wealth rose by £50 million to hit the £1 billion figure this year .

He previously claimed the musician top spot in 2023 with a £950million fortune, and again in 2022 when his wealth was put at £865 million.

The new milestone follows his successful 2023 Got Back Tour, the increase in the value of his back catalogue and R&B star Beyoncé covering his song Blackbird, originally released by The Beatles in 1968, on her latest album.

Paul McCartney fans are stunned that he's 'still touring'
