Key Things To Know About Visiting Las Vegas In November

Tourist visiting Las Vegas in November standing in front of a board with pink feathers and the word Flamingo in italics and trees behind on a cool day with clear weather

If you visit Las Vegas in November you can expect warm weather, fewer crowds and slightly cheaper hotel prices. But it’s not peak tourist season, so most hotel swimming pools are closed and you won’t find as many concerts. We’ve been to Vegas in November, and we think it’s a great time of year to visit if you want to avoid overcrowding and save money, as long as you don’t mind sacrificing sunbathing around the pool.

In this guide we walk you through the 10 most important things you should know about visiting Las Vegas in November based on our experiences.

Our Las Vegas Experience

Tourist in red coat walking along a section of the Las Vegas Strip to a large white ferris wheel with shops to either side

We spent 5 fun days exploring the Las Vegas Strip, downtown Las Vegas, and nearby attractions like the Hoover Dam, Seven Magic Mountains and Red Rock Canyon in mid-November 2021. We’d already spent 4 days there in October 2019, so we knew what we were getting into. And we know Vegas isn’t for everyone, but we love it!

November is a great month to visit Las Vegas because you’ll save money at hotels, restaurants will be quiet, the Strip isn’t too overcrowded and temperatures are comfortable. We noticed a big difference even between October and November, so if your top priority is to avoid crowds, the late fall season could be perfect for you. Read more about us .

Long line to take a photo with the Las Vegas sign on a sunny day

Las Vegas is one of the most popular vacation spots in the US for both domestic and international visitors, and it also hosts lots of huge conventions. So naturally, Las Vegas attracts year round crowds. But some months are busier than others for traditional tourism, and others are busier for conventions.

According to these Las Vegas visitor statistics , monthly visitor numbers in 2023 were surprisingly evenly spread throughout the year. But if you look closely at the numbers, you’ll see that convention attendance accounts for a higher overall percentage of visitors in shoulder season months like February, March, October and November.

The same visitor statistics show that Las Vegas received over 42 million annual visitors in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. And recovery after coronavirus was apparent in 2023, with almost 41 million tourists visiting the city.

What Does It Mean For You?

Well, it means that November is one of the best months of the year to visit Las Vegas if you’re priority is to avoid overcrowding at attractions, tours, and on the Strip. Lots of people in town are either working at or visiting conventions in November, so typical tourist attractions will be quieter.

Our experience : We visited Las Vegas in the November immediately after covid lockdowns, so people were back to traveling again, but not in full swing. The Strip felt much quieter compared to our trip in October 2019, and even at places like Bellagio Fountains we could tell it was less crowded overall.

November brings much cooler weather to Las Vegas when compared to the summer months. So, if you’re looking for a hot weather getaway to lounge around the pool with a cocktail, November is not the time for you to visit. You’ll find that mornings and evenings are surprisingly chilly, but daytime temperatures are usually perfectly comfortable.

Las Vegas November Temperatures

Here are the high, low and average las Vegas temperatures in November:

November 1st :

  • High – 74°F (23°C)
  • Average – 63°F (17°C)
  • Low – 52°F (11°C)

November 30th :

  • High – 61°F (16°C)
  • Average – 52°F (11°C)
  • Low – 42°F (6°C)

As you can see, the average temperatures drop fairly significantly throughout November. So, the weather will be far more comfortable if you decide to visit at the beginning of the month.

More weather information:

  • Days are warmest between 12:00pm and 6:00pm
  • Coldest part of the day is between 6:00am and 8:00am
  • Average cloud coverage increases from around 25% to 32%
  • Chance of rain is lower in November vs December, January or February

Source : Weather Spark

Our experience : We noticed a big difference in temperatures between our October and November visits to Las Vegas. In October we had hot days and mild evenings, whereas in November we had mild days and cool evenings. We mostly wore light long layers to go out at night and grab coffee in the morning.

3. Clocks Go Back

Bellagio fountains lit up with yellow light at night

Sticking loosely with the Las Vegas weather theme, don’t forget the clocks will fall back by one hour at the beginning of November. You can check the sunrise and sunset times for dates you’ll be in town.

The daylight savings change is going to mean two things for your visit:

  • Sunrise will jump back an hour to a little after 6:00am instead of 7:00am.
  • Sunset will jump back an hour to 4:40pm instead of 5:40pm.

How Will It Impact Your Trip?

Well, the sunrise time is unlikely to have any impact unless you’re an early riser. But the earlier sunset time might have a substantial impact on your plans for the day.

Let’s say by the time you’ve woken up, grabbed a coffee and breakfast, showered and readied yourself for the day ahead it’s around 10:00am. In the first few days of November you’d still have 7 hours to do any activities requiring daylight such as play golf, hike in Red Rock Canyon or visit the Hoover Dam. But once those clocks go back you’re instantly down 15% daylight time.

Of course there’s no cause for concern and there’s plenty of things you can do in Las Vegas at night. But it means you need to be more aware of what you can fit into your itinerary, and you might have to wake up earlier to fit more things in.

Our experience : We’re early birds by nature, but we really had to be conscious about time on this trip. It began coming in dark by 4:00pm so we had to wrap up activities earlier than we’d have liked.

The Palazzo Hotel from below lit up at night

Las Vegas is bit of a unicorn when it comes to booking hotels. There are so many hotels you can choose between in each budget category but the prices fluctuate wildly by day, week and month. Tourism remains relatively high in November but lots of visitors are only in town for conventions, so they might not necessarily be interested in book a classic Vegas casino hotel experience.

Our experience : We’ve stayed at 6 hotels on the Las Vegas Strip and 1 hotel in Downtown Vegas. Our advice is to book midweek if you want to save money because weekend prices are always heavily inflated. Staying centrally on the Strip is a good idea if you want easy access to everything.

Hotel Recommendations

  • Bally’s
  • Planet Hollywood
  • Treasure Island
  • Paris, Las Vegas

We thought Bally’s (which is now Horseshoe) offered a good balance between cost, location and quality. Both Luxor and Excalibur were so cheap when we stayed, we paid maybe $29/night.

  • The Venetian
  • The Palazzo
  • Caesars Palace

We’ve stayed at The Venetian and Bellagio, and both were amazing. In November we think you’ve got a better chance of booking one of the more luxurious casino hotels at cheaper prices because you can’t take advantage of certain facilities like swimming pools.

5. Expenses

Tourist stood next to life size dunkin' donuts coffee cup

Las Vegas is an expensive place to visit anytime of year. Everything from coffee to cocktails and from pizza to fine dining is ludicrously overpriced from the minute you wake up until the minute you go to bed. But you already know that’s how it’s going to be before you arrive, it’s Vegas after all!

Here’s where you will save in November:

  • Flights to and from Las Vegas are typically cheaper for both domestic and international travel versus summer months.
  • Hotels are typically cheaper and have more availability because it’s the off season.

Here’s where you won’t save in November:

  • Your day to day expenses will be no different to visiting in February or June instead. With that said, you’ll likely save on alcohol because it’s not pool season.

How Much Spending Money Do You Need?

Everyone visiting Las Vegas will arrive with a different budget and vacation goals. But let’s say you’re an average visitor like us, we suggest budgeting for an average of around $200 per person, per day.

That figure will allow you to relax, enjoy the chaos, eat and drink at good places, tick off attractions, take a day trip, see a show, go to a concert or dance in a super club. Hitting the slots or roulette table isn’t for us, but you’ll need to factor in more spending money if it’s something you’re interested in doing.

Our experience : As much as we love the over-the-top atmosphere in Vegas, we do get annoyed at the obscene prices for basic things like coffee. Even at happy hour we were paying $25 a cocktail in Cosmopolitan! Overall, we were spending a lot but we also doing a lot so it’s a trade-off.

6. Swimming Pools

Empty swimming pool with blue water in Nevada

Most Las Vegas hotel swimming pools are closed in November, which we think is one of the major downsides to planning a vacation at this time of year. In truth, it’s too cold to be swimming, but it does detract from the overall Vegas experience because you have nowhere to relax (or recover from a hangover!) during the day with a book, music or a podcast.

Our experience : The pools being closed was our least favorite part of visiting Las Vegas in November. We’d really enjoyed lounging around the pool in the sun at The Venetian in October, so we think it’s something you should strongly consider.

What About Pool Parties?

No, we’re afraid not! All Las Vegas pool parties have ended for the season by the end of October. So if you’re dreaming of splashing around in the pool to blaring beats with hundreds of revelers in the Nevada sunshine, don’t book your vacation in November.

Stage curtain in the Bellagio Cirque Du Soleil O

Back to good news, all the shows you’ve heard about in Las Vegas are in full swing during the month of November. That includes musicians, comedians, circus acts, magicians and more. For us, Cirque Du Soleil is the quintessential Las Vegas show to experience, and there are 6 completely different performances you can see.

Our experience : We’ve personally seen 2 of the 6 Cirque Du Soleil shows so far: “Mystere” at Treasure Island and “O” at Bellagio, and they were both outstanding.

There are always a ton of events taking place in Las Vegas, including concerts ( check schedule ), conventions, auctions, tech displays and music award ceremonies.

Take a look to see what’s going on during the dates you visit. Sometimes events can cause spikes in visitor numbers and hotel prices may inflate as a result, so it’s worth keeping an eye on.

8. The Food Scene

Hells Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay with Cosmopolitan Hotel behind at night

Did you know that Las Vegas is the most in demand place in the world for celebrity chefs to own restaurants? Anyone who is anyone in the celebrity world of food wants to be front and center in Sin City, and with more than 40 million visitors each year there’s no wonder why!

As a result, the Las Vegas food scene is as varied and quite frankly incredible as always in November. You can eat pretty much anything you desire on the Vegas strip, ranging from typical fast food joints to some of the best food on the planet.

Our experience : Don’t get us wrong, we love food, but food isn’t our top priority when we travel. And Las Vegas has so many restaurants that we honestly feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface. We took a fantastic Las Vegas secret food tour , but otherwise we’ve only eaten at a handful of places.

Packing for a November visit to Las Vegas is going to be more tricky than a summer trip thanks to cooler weather conditions. Layering is the key when it comes to filling your suitcase. We recommend light layers in case you get warmer days, middle layers in case you get cooler days and then clothes to wear at night when you go out.

And despite temperatures being cooler in November, you’ll still be in the Nevada desert so the sun will more than likely be out most of time you are in Vegas. That means sunglasses and maybe a hat or baseball cap in case you go out hiking for the day.

Our experience : We mostly packed shorts, t-shirts, light longer layers, dresses, leggings and light jackets. One thing we can recommend highly is comfortable shoes to wear for walking up and down the Strip, it’s longer than you might think!

Consider Smart Casual

The term “smart casual” can be interpreted in many ways, more so than ever these days, but we recommend you pack some smarter gear in case you want a luxurious splurge.

If you plan to sip on cocktails or dine at a plush restaurant in Cosmopolitan or Wynn, you should pack an outfit to match the surroundings. We felt horribly underdressed when we were slinging back $25 cocktails in Cosmo during happy hour!

10. Things To Do

The High Roller wheel slowly turning behind row of restaurants and bars in Las Vegas in November

Las Vegas is overflowing with countless awesome things to do for the whole family, ranging from free and cheap to outright ridiculous in price. Visiting in November isn’t going to prevent you from doing any of the usual attractions, with the exceptions of what we’ve already discussed like pool parties and maybe concerts because it’s late in the season.

But one thing you can do in November that you can’t any time of year is enjoy the newly thrown up Christmas decorations lighting up hotels, malls and the Strip!

Our experience : We actually found November to be an amazing time to explore places like Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon because it was cooler and quieter. On the Strip everything was still running like clockwork.

  • Walk the strip top to bottom on repeat
  • Explore the best shops, restaurants, bars and attractions in each hotel on the Strip
  • Take a photo with the Las Vegas sign
  • Ride the High Roller
  • Watch the Bellagio Fountains at night
  • Visit the Mob Museum
  • Walk the Fremont Street Experience
  • Watch a Cirque Du Soleil Show
  • Take a gondola in The Venetian
  • Book a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon

Las Vegas Pass

If you plan to tick off a lot of attractions when you visit Vegas, we highly recommend looking into buying a Go City Las Vegas Pass or a Las Vegas Sightseeing Pass so you can do more for less money. We always buy attraction passes in new cities around the world because they do save a bit of money that can be spent on beer and food!

Attractions you can save money at include Cirque Du Soleil shows, big bus, lots on the Strip and even day trips to national parks.

National Public Lands Day

One thing you should take advantage of if you’ll be in Vegas on November 11th (Veterans Day) is National Public Lands Day. You can get free entrance to public lands such as Death Valley National Park, Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead and Zion National Park. Note that it doesn’t include Valley of Fire State Park because that’s managed by the state of Nevada.

The Morgan Conclusion

Tourist in shorts and vest stood next to the Hoover Dam sign on a concrete wall

All things considered, we think November is a good time to visit Las Vegas if you want to avoid the worst crowds, save a bit of money at hotels or take day trips to nearby desert landscapes where you’ll benefit from cooler hiking temperatures.

As far as we’re concerned, the only downside is swimming pools at Strip hotels being closed for the season. So if you’re not bothered about swimming or sunbathing, we can tell you from experience that Las Vegas definitely feels less chaotic in November, and you’ll likely have a better time for it.

What should you pack for November in Las Vegas?

You’ll want to make sure you’ve packed the right clothes for your trip to Las Vegas in November.

As we’ve mentioned, Las Vegas weather in November is mild and comfortable – so you’ll want to pack for spring / autumn weather, mild temperatures, enjoyable sunshine, etc. But not over-the-top heat. Expect cooler evenings, so have some thing layers to change up and keep warm.

Think jeans and a t-shirt (and maybe a light jacket) in the evening.

Or a dress and a denim / leather jacket in the evening. For the daytime (if temperatures reach the highs of 19°C or 66°F, then you’ll likely only need one layer of clothing! As that can often feel comfortable and warm.

We would recommend packing light layers, so you can always wrap up warmer if need be, but on those sunny days, you’re not weighed down by bulky items.

A light jacket (and maybe a light raincoat) might be worth packing (just in case you get unlucky and experience the rain!). It’s unlikely, but it can happen!

  • The Caesars Palace ‘Venus Pool’ is open for  all ages  during the winter.
  • The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has one open pool in winter: The Chelsea pool. Their main swimming pool closes for ice-skating and other festive events.
  • The Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay has a heated pool during the winter.

November in Las Vegas: Weather, What to Pack, and What to See

Mitchell Funk / Getty Images

The fall brings cooler temperatures to Las Vegas and the possibility of rain throughout November, but it's still considerably warmer in this Nevada desert town than most other places in the United States. If you're visiting the city this month, there are also plenty of things to do to keep you entertained—from catching a Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey game at the T-Mobile Arena to watching a show on the Las Vegas Strip.

Keep in mind when visiting in November that night and day temperatures also fluctuate considerably: While the days may still be warm, it can get downright frigid at night. Fortunately, most of your time in Vegas will be spent indoors at one of the area's many hotels, resorts, casinos, theaters, or other entertainment attractions—unless you're mountain biking in Red Rock Canyon or heading off on a day trip to the Grand Canyon .

Las Vegas Weather in November

By Nov. 1, cooler weather has already settled across the Las Vegas region, though temperatures here might be considerably warmer here than wherever you arrived from.

  • Average high: 67 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Average low: 42 degrees Fahrenheit

Less than half an inch of rain falls over the course of four to six days each year, most of which comes in light, scattered showers that don't affect travel—though you may want to bring an umbrella just in case. Aside from some occasional strong winds and the chance of rain, November weather is usually relatively temperate in Las Vegas.

What to Pack

The weather has cooled down significantly, especially overnight, but the temperatures inside Las Vegas attractions remain the same year-round, so you'll need to pack for your trip based on what you want to do. For instance, football fans may need to bring an extra blanket for the stands, and pool enthusiasts should expect a brisk dip unless their hotel has a heated indoor pool. Otherwise, anyone visiting this month should pack clothing they can layer, pants, a sweater or pullover for the nighttime chill, and an umbrella in case it rains.

November Events in Las Vegas

From festive community events to world-class entertainment at venues around the city, Las Vegas earns its nickname as the "Entertainment Capital of the World" for its variety of attractions available all year long. However, if you're visiting in November, a few events stand out among Las Vegas' lineup of comedy shows, concerts, musical productions, and festivals:

  • Inspirada Thanksgiving Farmer's Market : This annual event takes place the second week of November each year at Solista Park in Henderson and features a Thanksgiving feast cooking demonstration by a locally-renowned chef as well as a traditional row of vendors selling local produce and goods.
  • Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Teams Championship : In early November, the T-Mobile Arena hosts this annual bull riding championship, and there will be plenty of concerts, parties, and celebrations around the city affiliated with the finals.
  • Golden Knights Hockey : Vegas' professional National Hockey League (NHL) team typically plays several home games at the T-Mobile Arena in November.
  • Dia de Muertos : Celebrate Latin American traditions over the first weekend of November at Springs Preserve, where you can view hundreds of altars created by locals commemorating deceased family members.
  • Turkey Trot : The Thanksgiving tradition, sponsored by BBSC Running Events, takes place from Six Tunnels to the Hoover Dam on Thanksgiving morning.
  • Concerts and Shows: With dozens of venues and headliners to choose from, there's no shortage of entertainment available on the Las Vegas Strip. Performers, including Fleetwood Mac, Metallica, Celine Dion, Jim Gaffigan, Cher, and Boyz II Men, regularly show off their talents in Vegas.

November Travel Tips

  • The weather in Las Vegas may feel colder or warmer than you're used to for this time of year, depending on where you live. Visitors from California find it colder, those from the East Coast find it warmer, while people from the northern United States compare it to a tropical vacation.
  • Aside from the week of Thanksgiving, ticket prices for flights and rooms at Las Vegas hotels  are slightly lower than average in November due to fewer visitors coming to the city at this time of year. Book your reservations early and be on the lookout for package deals meant to entice new customers—these are often used by hotels that aren't getting enough customers during tourism's shoulder season.
  • If you're visiting during Thanksgiving, prices will likely increase, and it'll be more challenging to book rooms and make reservations. However, there are several restaurants in Las Vegas that will be open and serving holiday feasts.

THINKING ABOUT A TRIP TO LAS VEGAS IN NOVEMBER?

You’ve landed on the right article! Our family has been visiting Las Vegas since 2011 and we’ve spent time in Las Vegas on many different occasions during different seasons of the year .

November is a great time to visit because summer temperatures have started to cool down, but during the day, it is still warm enough to enjoy some of the year-round swimming pools and fun water activities in the area.

From the neon lights and flash of the Las Vegas Strip to the great outdoor activities in the area that our family loves, we’ll cover it all! This article will highlight everything you need to know and what to expect when visiting Las Vegas in November.

Las Vegas Weather in November

During the month of November, the weather in Las Vegas takes a dramatic fall from the comfortable fall highs toward the city’s lowest temperatures of the year, in December . Temperatures this month will be the coolest since March. Keep in mind that the days can still be somewhat warm, but given the desert climate, evenings and early mornings will be brisk.

How Cloudy is Las Vegas in November?

November experiences increasing cloud cover from previous months. This means you can expect more cloudy conditions during your visit to Las Vegas in November and the coming winter and spring (typically ranging from 18-20%), compared to Las Vegas in May and other summer months when the desert sky is virtually cloudless.

Although you’re likely to find cloudy skies in Las Vegas in November, the beginning of the month promises to be the clearest, so that’s your best chance to find clear skies during your November visit.

Sunrise in November starts at 7:03 a.m. in the first part of the month. By November 15th, sunrise is at 6:17 a.m., taking into account the Daylight Savings time change; this is a difference of 14 minutes since the beginning of the month. By the end of the month, sunrise is at 6:32 a.m., for a total difference of 29 minutes throughout the month.

Sunset at the beginning of November is at 5:44 p.m. By the end of the month, you can expect sunset at 4:26 p.m., for a difference of 18 minutes throughout the month (given the time change, again). The sunrise and sunset trends are an obvious shift as the fall months settle in, which offer less daylight.

What to Wear in November

The weather in November is going to be on the cooler side of comfortable. You can expect some cloudy days, not much rain, and some brisk mornings and evenings. Overall, you should expect somewhat warm weather ranging from the low 60s and dipping into the mid-40s.

Things to Do in Las Vegas in November

Hiking in Valley of Fire near Las Vegas

There are so many fun attractions to explore with your family in Las Vegas. From taking in the wonders of the gorgeous hotels to being star-struck by the lights and glamour of the strip, there’s so much to see and enjoy, and don’t forget the delicious food !

It took us a few trips to discover it, but we love the Neon Museum ! It’s a bit off the beaten track, but definitely, a fun spot to check out with adults and kids alike.

Due to its subtropical desert climate, Las Vegas is a fantastic place to visit year-round. Sure, summer travelers are known to spend countless hours in hotel pools, but contrary to what you might think, there are so many fun things to do in Las Vegas during winter .

Checking out Valley of Fire or Red Rock Canyon is a much more comfortable experience in the cooler months of the year. There are some amazing Valley of Fire hikes you won’t want to miss when visiting Las Vegas in November!

If you would prefer to visit Red Rock Canyon, there are lots of great tours . If you don’t have your own transportation, some of these tours include transportation from many of the downtown hotels.

There are so many fun attractions on the strip, but exploring the state park and conservation area is actually one of our favorite things to do with kids in Las Vegas . A quick visit out of town to check out Seven Magic Mountains is another sure bet for family fun in Las Vegas in November!

Las Vegas Day Trips

Visiting the Hoover Dam near Las Vegas

The Hoover Dam is about 45 minutes west of Las Vegas and is considered one of the industrial wonders of the world. Families are welcome to travel to and explore the dam on their own, but we definitely recommend taking a Hoover Dam tour .

During our last visit to Las Vegas, we went down into the dam on a tour, and it was so much fun. It was so interesting to learn more about the history of creating the dam and seeing the big generators.

The tours are super convenient. Many of them pick guests up from Las Vegas area hotels and drive them to the dam.

▶ BOOK Hoover Dam Tour

Antelope Canyon

Walking through Antelope Canyon

If you’re looking for an excuse to get out of town during your visit to Las Vegas, consider an Antelope Canyon from Las Vegas Tour . Antelope Canyon is about four and a half hours outside of Las Vegas. Travelers can choose from different Lower Antelope Canyon tours , including Antelope Canyon X or even an Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Day Trip .

Travelers who wish to make the road trip from Las Vegas to Antelope Canyon and nearby Horseshoe Bend might find themselves asking, can you see Antelope Canyon without a tour? You can drive yourself to the entrance of the canyon, but you will need to book a tour to go in because it is on protected Navajo Land. Visiting Antelope Canyon in November is a great time of year to visit.

If you decide to stay in the Antelope Canyon area instead of making the long trek back to Vegas all in one day, you can be sure your family will stay in comfort. There are some amazing hotels near Antelope Canyon .

▶ BOOK Antelope Canyon Tour

The Grand Canyon

South Rim of the Grand Canyon

Another fun day trip destination from Las Vegas is the Grand Canyon. There are some amazing things to do at the South Rim Grand Canyon , and it’s a really enjoyable place to visit with family. We are always blown away by how beautiful it is every time we visit.

Best of all, there are some phenomenal places to stay near the Grand Canyon too, just in case you decide to stay overnight! If you are short on time, you can definitely see the Grand Canyon in one day, but if you can stay overnight, you can watch a spectacular sunrise. Sunrise and sunset are our favorite times to visit the Grand Canyon.

If you want a truly memorable and unique way of experiencing the Grand Canyon, check out some of the Las Vegas helicopter tours that visit the Grand Canyon.

Best Time of Year to Visit Las Vegas

Late fall throughout the winter months is the best time to visit Las Vegas. These months will still be somewhat crowded, but visiting during this time saves travelers from the extreme heat and summer pool party atmosphere.

Las Vegas in September can still see high temperatures pushing 100° F, but as temperatures buckle in for fall, November in Las Vegas takes a plunge into the low 60s, making it an even more comfortable time to visit!

2. Plan your Vegas trip itinerary

You have lots of options when it comes to putting together a Las Vegas itinerary . It depends on what you want to do and see, as well as how many days you have in the city.

How many days to spend in Vegas

It’s hard to see all of Las Vegas in a day, but if you’re short on time, two days is enough. Ideally, I recommend planning a 3-day trip to Vegas so you can see all the top attractions.

Vegas trip itinerary ideas

For some ideas on how to plan a trip to Vegas , here are sample itineraries for one, two, and three days.

1-day Las Vegas itinerary

2-day las vegas itinerary, 3-day las vegas itinerary.

Begin your  day in Las Vegas  by visiting the  Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign . You can catch the  Hop-On/Hop-Off bus there and take it to Downtown Las Vegas, where you can explore this entertainment area.

Then, go to The Venetian  and check out  Madame Tussauds  and the  gondola rides  at the  Grand Canal Shoppes .

Later, head to the LINQ Promenade and ride the High Roller  during sunset. At night, walk to the  Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas , where you’ll have a great view of the  Bellagio Fountains . The water show is one of the best  free things to do in Vegas , although if you want to see it from the Paris viewing deck, you should reserve a  ticket  (It is also included at the  Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass ).

Seeing the  Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign  is a rite of passage, so start there. This is also where you can catch the  Hop-On/Hop-Off bus , which will transport you around the Strip.

If you like thrill rides, stop at  New York-New York ‘s  Big Apple Coaster  before continuing downtown. Then you can do the  Las Vegas Downtown – Fremont St. walking tour , one of the best  things to do in downtown Las Vegas .

Later on, head to the  LINQ Promenade , where you can eat, shop, and ride the  High Roller . You can also get awesome views from the 1,149-foot-tall  SkyPod  at  the STRAT . The SkyPod has a late-night bar and lounge, so it’s the perfect place to wrap up a  Las Vegas couples itinerary .

A  Las Vegas weekend itinerary  is ideal because you can experience some  daytime activities in Las Vegas  before diving into the nightlife.

First, take a break from the Strip with a half-day  Hoover Dam tour . When you return to Vegas, take a quick break, then do go to a  pool party in Las Vegas.  If that’s not your thing, you can take in the scene at  Fremont Street , perhaps with a ride on the  SlotZilla zip line  or a visit to the  Mob Museum , one of the  best Las Vegas museums .

If you feel it’s to early to go to bed, grab cocktails at a swanky casino or do a bar crawl .

Ideally, I recommend at least 3 days for your Las Vegas trip so you can fully enjoy all the top attractions. Spend your first day taking the Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus Tour , starting at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign .

As you make your way along the Strip, stop by The Venetian , where you can see the wax figures at Madame Tussauds and take a gondola ride at the Grand Canal Shoppes .

Later on, check out the entertainment and attractions at the LINQ Promenade . If you perfectly time your ride on the High Roller , you can catch the Bellagio Fountains water show from the observation wheel.

The next morning, get in a nice swim or sunbathe at your hotel’s pool before the day gets too hot. Then, check out a Las Vegas museum , like the Mob Museum or the Erotic Heritage Museum .

In the afternoon, get a spectacular view of the city by taking a Las Vegas Strip Helicopter tour , a premium attraction with the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass .

Afterwards, grab dinner and drinks at Señor Frogs.

Spend your last day taking an adventure to one of the nearby national parks. I recommend this full-day bus tour to the Grand Canyon West Rim and Hoover Dam .

Once you get back to Sin City, you can eat something and get refreshed before taking in a Las Vegas show .

The best time to visit Las Vegas depends on what you’d like to see and do in Sin City. Thanks to its pleasant weather year-round, there isn’t necessarily a bad time to visit, but there are times when it’s more crowded and expensive.

What is the best month to go to Las Vegas?

  • Best months for good weather:  March and September boast beautiful weather, so you’ll be able to maximize your outdoor time.
  • Cheapest month to visit: January is one of the best times to book a Vegas hotel since prices usually drop after the holidays.
  • Worst time to visit: Christmastime in Las Vegas is busy, but also very beautiful. Also, July and August are super hot and tend to be more crowded .

Now that you know the cheapest time to go to Las Vegas , see if you can save even more by booking a flight with Kiwi or Skyscanner . These sites will help you find the cheapest trips to Vegas across all airlines, as well as the best travel dates for maximum savings.

Relative humidity in November averages around 44%, providing a comfortable dryness that makes sightseeing and outdoor activities pleasant. It’s also one of the less rainy months, with the average rainfall recorded at just over half an inch. Light rain can occur, but heavy downpours are rare. Best Time to Visit Las Vegas in November

Photo by Kenny Eliason Mountains by Las Vegas with snow

November is arguably the best time to visit Las Vegas for several reasons. As the city transitions into cooler weather, the Las Vegas Strip, known for its bustling activity, sees fewer crowds. This makes it an ideal time for tourists who prefer a more relaxed pace to enjoy the city’s vibrant energy.

The end of the month, in particular, offers a unique allure. With the holiday season approaching, the city starts to don festive decorations, and higher elevations in the nearby mountains experience snow. This makes the Las Vegas Strip even more enchanting, and witnessing the holiday transformation is a spectacle not to be missed.

Another advantage of visiting in November is the potential for better deals on accommodation. As this period is considered off-peak season, even the most popular hotels, including the likes of The Venetian, Bellagio, and Caesars Palace, offer attractive rates.

Securing a room in the best hotels at lower costs not only saves money but also enhances the overall Las Vegas experience. With extra savings, you can indulge in other experiences, like fine dining, attending shows, or trying your luck at a casino. Therefore, a November visit can offer the best of Las Vegas without breaking the bank.

Getting to Las Vegas

Your journey to Las Vegas typically begins at McCarran International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the United States. It’s well-connected with both domestic and international flights, ensuring a convenient start to your Las Vegas adventure .

Once you’ve landed, navigating the city is a breeze thanks to the city’s efficient public transport system. Options range from buses and taxis to the monorail system, making it easy to reach your hotel and explore the city’s iconic attractions.

Visiting Las Vegas in November 10 Best Things to Do

Photo by Kevin Dunlap Las Vegas Strip

Exploring the Las Vegas Strip

First on your itinerary should be exploring the Las Vegas Strip. The cooler November weather makes strolling along this iconic stretch a comfortable and enjoyable experience. With its glittering lights, impressive hotels, and high-energy atmosphere, the Strip offers a unique blend of entertainment and excitement.

Nearby State and National Parks

Take a break from the city’s hustle and bustle and venture out to Red Rock Canyon and Death Valley National Park. These natural beauties showcase a different side of Nevada, with striking landscapes and captivating wildlife. The cooler November weather makes hiking and sightseeing in these parks more enjoyable. And Veterans Day on November 11th is National Public Lands Day when you can take part in organized clean-ups or enjoy free entrance to public parks.

A visit to the architectural marvel that is the Hoover Dam is a must. Just a short drive from Las Vegas, this impressive structure offers stunning views and a rich history. Guided tours are available, providing an educational and interesting day trip. We found that leaving early in the morning gives you a jump start on the rest of the visitors and helps you avoid the crowds and long lines of cars waiting to get access to parking.

Grand Canyon Trip

Consider taking a day trip to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon. There are numerous tour companies offering packages from Las Vegas, making it a convenient addition to your itinerary. November’s mild weather enhances the experience, allowing you to fully appreciate the Canyon’s natural splendor. You may even get a chance to see snow in the canyon which makes the park’s red rock stand out all that much more.

Visiting Spa Facilities

With pool season winding down, consider visiting the luxurious spa facilities at Caesar’s Palace and Mandalay Bay. These renowned establishments offer a range of services, from relaxing massages to rejuvenating treatments, providing an excellent way to unwind.

Watching Performances

Las Vegas is known for its world-class performances. Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Carrot Top, and David Copperfield all have shows in November. Each offers a unique and unforgettable experience, adding to the city’s vibrant entertainment scene. For fans of Michael Jackson music, you can catch Michael Jackson One by Cirque du Soleil

November in Las Vegas is a great time for live music. Country fans will be delighted to know that Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, and Garth Brooks often have performances scheduled in the city during this time. Katy Perry is wrapping up her run in early November.

If you have some people in your group who are not country music fans I think you could still check out Garth Brooks. He puts on an amazing show and even responds to audience members who come to his shows with giant signs to request their favorite song. It’s amazing that no matter the song he can sing the lyrics and play along. Check for schedules and book your tickets early.

Comedy and Magic Shows

For a dose of laughter, catch a comedy show. Comedians David Spade and magician Criss Angel are regulars on the Las Vegas scene and their performances are a guaranteed good time. These shows offer a fun way to enjoy the evening after a day of sightseeing.

Ice Rink and Christmas Decorations

As November ends, Las Vegas starts to embrace the Christmas spirit. Ice rinks pop up around the city, offering a fun activity for the whole family. For those of you that think ice skating in the desert must be a sub-par experience think again! You can take advantage of open skate times at City National Arena which the Golden Knights Ice Hockey team calls home. The Cosmopolitan (which also hosts my favorite buffet, the Wicked Spoon) transforms one of its pool areas into an ice rink and hosts a “Date Skate” event on Fridays and Saturdays starting mid-November.

The city’s Christmas decorations, especially on the Las Vegas Strip, are a sight to behold. And I’m not just talking about twinkling lights. This is a city that knows how to put on a show! So expect to have multiple Christmas-themed events available, think Immersive Nutcracker or a winter wonderland-themed Tournament of Kings . Or a holiday maze at Enchant on the Strip and a drive-through holiday light show called Glittering Lights with a live nativity scene at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Food Festivals

Finally, if you’re a foodie, be sure not to miss the Great Las Vegas Taco Festival or the Food Truck Festival. The Taco Festival event showcases a variety of delicious tacos from different vendors on Nov 5th – 7th. And the Food Truck Festival is on the 2nd of November. What better way to round off your November visit than with a taste of these mouth-watering events?

Special Events in November

Photo by Stephen Leonardi Las Vegas sunset on the strip

In November, Las Vegas hosts a variety of special events that add to the city’s allure. Veterans Day, a national holiday, is celebrated with various ceremonies and parades, paying tribute to those who have served, as well as numerous locations that provide discounts to veterans. Black Friday is another highlight, with shopping malls offering massive discounts. Always keep an eye out for current events and music festivals as well – Las Vegas is known for its packed event calendar.

Tips for Visiting Las Vegas in November

When visiting Las Vegas in November, it’s advisable to dress in light layers. The mild days and cooler evenings mean you’ll want to adjust your clothing throughout the day. Remember, proof of age is essential in many places, especially if you’re planning on enjoying the city’s nightlife. Make the most of free entrance days to museums and attractions to save on extra costs. Always budget for any unexpected expenses to ensure a stress-free vacation.

A November visit to Las Vegas offers a unique blend of comfortable weather, fewer crowds, and a host of activities and events. It’s a great time to experience the city or use it as a starting point for an epic national park road trip , even in one of the coldest months. Always check calendars of events for the most updated information to make the most of your trip. Las Vegas is waiting to be discovered, and November could be the perfect time for your adventure.

This Nevada city offers glitz, glamour, thrills, and more.

Call it cliché, but we believe Las Vegas has something for everyone. With entertainment options ranging from celebrity chef-helmed restaurants and enticing casinos to thrill rides, professional sports, and the great outdoors, we'd bet big money that Las Vegas has what you're looking for. To create a thorough list of things to do in the Nevada city, we enlisted several Las Vegas experts, including the chef concierge for Wynn Las Vegas , Angelica Miozza; comic performer Colin Cahill, who plays Blue Jackson in Spiegelworld’s Atomic Saloon Show at the Venetian; and long-time resident and vice president at Kirvin Doak Communications , Natalie Mounier.

Here are 31 of the best things to do in Las Vegas.

Sway to the music at the Bellagio fountain show.

Westend61/Getty Images

This expansive fountain show occurs multiple times a day, every day of the year; check the schedule once you arrive in town to make sure you catch it. The romantic spectacle is free, and onlookers line the sidewalk, mesmerized by the beauty of the dancing fountains and the music that plays along with the show.

Observe the Las Vegas Strip from above.

Taylor McIntyre/Travel + Leisure

To enjoy panoramic views of the city, hop on High Roller , the largest observation wheel in North America. You’ll ride in one of 28 spacious air-conditioned cabins for 30 minutes, at one point reaching 550 feet above the Strip. Cabins hold up to 40 guests, so grab some friends (and a cocktail or two) for the ride. Note that glass and coolers are not permitted.

Take a walk under the sea.

AlizadaStudios/Getty Images

At Shark Reef Aquarium , you can walk through an underwater glass tunnel as more than 2,000 sea creatures swim around you. The Mandalay Bay attraction includes gracefully floating jellyfish, friendly sea turtles, and sharks gliding through a shipwreck. For an additional fee, you can book an early-entry guided tour if you'd like to feed a stingray.

Go skydiving indoors.

Avalon_Studio/Getty Images

Travelers can experience skydiving without the airplane on the exhilarating Vegas Indoor Skydiving attraction. You can fly on your own (even kids can try it, so long as they're 40 pounds or more), or get a group of six to 10 friends or family members for a 20-minute party with private training and your own block of time in the wind tunnel.

Play around at Topgolf.

 Michael Baxter, Baxter Imaging/TopgGolf

Whether or not you're an avid golfer, this is a fun venue to spend a couple of hours, or more. Topgolf Las Vegas offers climate-controlled hitting bays, plus music, HDTVs, and a pool (must be 21 and over) with cabanas. This is a favorite spot for the Wynn’s Angelica Miozza, who comes to test her golf swing. There's also a sports bar, restaurant, and complimentary golf clubs.

Drive a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or go-cart.

At Exotics Racing , driving is extremely exciting, whether you choose a supercar, go-kart, or off-road experience. Steer an exotic car around a racetrack for the thrill of it, or have fun racing a go-kart on an outdoor track. You can even choose a specially built Baja race truck for the ultimate off-road experience.

Stroll through an indoor garden.

Jeffrey Greenberg/Universal Images Group via Getty Images

Visitors are dazzled by the intricate designs, colors, and beauty of the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens . Each season, the 14,000-square-foot garden is transformed with floral displays, living plants, and water features. In addition to unique designs for each season, a special Lunar New Year garden is created each year.

Ride a gondola and stroll through St. Mark’s Square.

At the Venetian Resort , a gondola ride takes you through a replica of Venice, complete with the Rialto Bridge, a sparkling Grand Canal, and a serenade by your gondolier. Once off your boat, browse the upscale Grand Canal Shoppes, enjoy the street performers, or grab a gelato while you take in the atmosphere of "Italy."

Catch the light show on downtown's Fremont Street.

The largest video screen in the world is suspended 90 feet above Fremont Street for this dazzling free light show with concert-quality sound. The show begins every hour between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m., every day. While you’re in the downtown area, check out the SlotZilla zip line, which has an option to fly over the street like a superhero, landing at the historic Golden Gate Hotel and Casino.

Experience Illuminarium.

Courtesy of Illuminarium

At Illuminarium Las Vegas , 4K laser projection, 3D audio, and special effects create immersive experiences not to be missed. Travel to outer space via images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope, or to the African savanna, where incredible animals roam. Check the website for what experiences are available during your Las Vegas visit.

Tee off at the only casino resort golf course on the Las Vegas Strip.

Courtesy of Wynn Las Vegas

Enjoy the gorgeous surroundings of the 18-hole championship course at the Wynn Golf Club . The lush landscape was designed by legendary architect Tom Fazio, who partnered with his son Logan to revisit and enhance his original work. Mature trees, lakes, and streams add both beauty and challenge to the course.

Take a Connoisseur Series class at Wynn Las Vegas.

“For those who love immersive experiences, I recommend attending one of Wynn’s master classes , which provide an intimate experience with the resort’s world-class chefs and industry experts,” Angelica Miozza told T+L. “Some of my favorites include learning how to bake baguettes alongside our master baker, filling dumplings with a master dim sum chef, and creating remarkable floral arrangements with the head of horticulture.”

Take a side trip to Red Rock Canyon.

Pengcheng Zhu/Getty Images

About 17 miles west of the Strip, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers miles of hiking trails. The preserve is also a great place for rock climbing, mountain biking, picnicking, and horseback riding, all surrounded by gorgeous scenery. A 13-mile scenic drive leads to sandstone hills, canyons, and parking areas, where visitors can explore the area's natural and cultural history.

Watch a professional sports game.

Madeline Carter/Las Vegas Review-Journal/Tribune News Service via Getty Images

Depending on the season, visitors can see the WNBA 2023 champions Las Vegas Aces , the Las Vegas Lights FC soccer team, Las Vegas Raiders football, or the Vegas Golden Knights NHL team. “In recent years, Las Vegas has been building its credibility as a sports destination,” Miozza said.

Get a Las Vegas history lesson at the Mob Museum.

The Mob Museum is located downtown in the city’s former federal courthouse. Its interactive exhibits highlight notorious gangsters like Al Capone and Bugsy Siegel and famous FBI agents, including J. Edgar Hoover and Eliot Ness. After your mob history lesson, visit the onsite Prohibition-era-styled speakeasy for a cocktail.

Experience Vegas deep into the night.

Veronica Jones/Getty Images

They say New York is the city that never sleeps, but Vegas doesn't seem to, either. Nightclubs and cocktail lounges abound, and there's always a themed party or DJ set to experience. The city has lots in store for LGBTQ+ travelers, too —  Visit Las Vegas  suggests year-round Pride events and RuPaul's Drag Rice Live as some of the options.

Score tickets to a live show.

Tomasz Rossa

Cahill called his Atomic Saloon show “one of my all-time favorite sexy circus comedy cabarets.” There’s also Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles LOVE show at The Mirage, Mystere at Treasure Island, “O” at the Bellagio, and Awakening at the Wynn. Head to Caesars Palace to see world-class talent like Adele and the newest resident headliner, Garth Brooks. And if you've got kids in tow, they can see a show , too.

Show off your skills at the Pinball Hall of Fame.

Brian van der Brug/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images

This museum houses the world’s largest pinball machine collection, with vintage machines from the 1960s, '70s, and '80s (and beyond). The machines are all restored to like-new condition, and they’re available for visitors to enjoy — it's a pretty inexpensive way to have fun at 25 or 50 cents a play.

Watch the free show at the Lake of Dreams.

“Staged outdoors with open-air patios for viewing, the Wynn Lake of Dreams show is something guests or visitors to Las Vegas may not know about,” Miozza told T + L. “The complimentary multimedia experience blends colorful puppetry, an immersive soundtrack, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting.” The show runs multiple times every night, starting at dusk.

Snap a few photos for the 'gram.

About 10 miles south of the Strip is Seven Magic Mountains , a group of neon-colored totems created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, and a very popular site with shutterbugs. Next, head downtown for a self-guided mural tour , or visit the Museum of Selfies at the LINQ Promenade. And, of course, there’s the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign — a must for every visitor.

Join an immersive show at a rum distillery.

At the Lost Spirits Distillery , guests walk through elaborate Victorian settings and sample rum while cast members perform all around them in an immersive theater experience. To extend your time here, book an elaborate 16-course tasting menu dinner, which is served in a room themed after “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."

Dance to live tunes.

Nastasic/Getty Images

Cahill says, “If you’re looking to scoot your boots, my favorite bands to dance to are The Bronx Wanderers and The Spazmatics, both at South Point , and Original Chaos, who you can catch at venues all over town." For more live music venue options, Visit Las Vegas has you covered .

Visit the Sphere.

Tayfun Coskun/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images

“Vegas is all about revamping the old and building the new,” Cahill says, specifically pointing to the new Sphere , a 17,500-seat structure for concerts and sporting events. With a wraparound LED display and spatial audio system, the venue provides an immersive experience that utilizes visual effects, movement sensations, intense lighting, and even scent and wind simulations.

Visit the Las Vegas Arts District.

When Cahill isn’t playing Blue Jackson in the Atomic Saloon, he enjoys spending time in the Las Vegas Arts District . Located about a mile from downtown and the Fremont Street Experience, this area features shops, restaurants, bars, coffee houses, galleries, theater, live performances, and First Friday events.

Ride FlyOver.

“My family and I love FlyOver ,” Mounier said. “It makes you feel like you’re flying over the most iconic places in the U.S., Canada, and Iceland; you’re sitting inside a spherical screen, surrounded by the most amazing views. As the film dips and turns throughout the locales, the seat moves with you, like you’re flying via helicopter. There are special effects, too — when you fly through a cloud, you feel a light mist on your face.”

Go on another adrenaline-pumping thrill ride.

Head to the Stratosphere for the Big Shot ride and the X-Scream rollercoaster, which dangles you above the Las Vegas Strip. Or, ride the Big Apple Coaster at New York New York — it speeds up to 67 miles per hour.

Shop 'til you drop in a classic Vegas shopping center.

Instead of losing money in the casino, why not exchange money for goods? Great places to do the latter include the Forum Shops in Caesars Palace, the Cosmopolitan Shops , designer shops at the Encore , MGM Grand , and more. At the Downtown Container Park, you can shop , snack , and catch a free concert in one spot.

Take a wellness break.

A spa visit makes for a relaxing and refreshing escape from the hustle of Vegas, and we recommend Caesar’s Palace Qua Baths & Spa . This venue offers three Roman baths, an Arctic Ice Room, and a range of massage and skin care services. Or head to Wynn Las Vegas, where Wynn Living Well offers massages, vitamin IV drip therapies, and other innovative treatments.

Ride the Las Vegas Monorail.

George Rose/Getty Images

The Strip often surprises first-time Las Vegas visitors — it's not as easy to walk from one end to the other as you'd think. So, if you're trying to get from point A to point B here, consider taking the Las Vegas Monorail . It's a convenient mode of transportation that connects MGM Grand to the Sahara Hotel, with stops at Harrah’s, Caesar’s Palace, and more.

Try your luck in a Vegas casino.

Alina555/Getty Images

There are more than 100 casinos in Las Vegas , so no trip here would be complete without wandering through one of these dens of smoke, drinks, and slot machines. Belly up to a blackjack, poker, or craps table and try your luck, or stand back and observe someone else playing — somehow, even just watching casino action is a thrill in Las Vegas.

Plan a trip around Formula 1.

Ellen Schmidt/Las Vegas Review-Journal/Tribune News Service via Getty Images

With no fewer than 16 different ticket types, ranging from general admission ($150) through a variety of grandstands, clubs, private suites, and luxury hospitality (from $12,500), the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix (set for the weekend before Thanksgiving) aims to attract a varied crowd. All the events, from the trio of practice sessions through qualifying and the race itself, happen after the sun goes down and the neon turns on. Skip the turns and head straight for the Strip, where you'll find top speeds of 217 miles per hour — and all the action.

Best Times To Visit Las Vegas

The best time to visit Las Vegas is from March to May and from September to November. While you'll find plenty of travel deals throughout the year, the spring and fall shoulder seasons offer the most moderate weather. Sin City welcomes an influx of visitors during the winter months, especially surrounding New Year's Eve, the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day, and the sweltering summers see daytime temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. No matter when you decide to visit Vegas, try to plan a midweek trip – because this is a common weekend getaway destination, you'll find more rooms at lower rates between Tuesday and Thursday.

Las Vegas is also home to hundreds of conventions each year, which can drive up room rates. Before setting travel dates, check the city's tourism board convention schedule to find out which hotels are hosting what and when – this will help you secure a better deal at your choice hotel.

las vegas trip november

Las Vegas is a year-round destination, but there are definitely some seasonal things to consider when planning your trip © LPETTET / Getty Images

Let’s be real here: Las Vegas is always on. Be it the international culinary pizzazz, 24/7 gambling euphoria or entertainment in every form humanly possible, you can get it year-round in Sin City.

However, when you go to Las Vegas can make a world of difference on many fronts. For example, you’ll want to limit your outdoor jaunts – from strolls on the Strip to hikes to nearby Red Rock Canyon – during the periodic 110-degree day in August and pack your heaviest coat come January for nights that frequently dip into the 20s.

In terms of landing a bargain trip, Las Vegas does have “high” and “low” seasons like most destinations. However, you’ll want to keep an eye on convention and mega-event calendars, as highly-trafficked events in seemingly random months (e.g. the annual National Finals Rodeo city-wide spectacle in January) can impact costs and hotel room availability big-time. For that, the city’s tourism entity – the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority – keeps a regularly updated and trusted slate .

While figuring out how to play a game of craps can be confusing, knowing the best times to visit Las Vegas is not. Let’s shuffle up and take a look at the deal.

A woman hiking near Las Vegas drinks from a water bottle

June to August may bring high temperatures but is the best time for low prices

It’s a desert out there, literally. Amid the non-stop pumping of air conditioning within Las Vegas’ resorts, it’s easy to forget that the city is in the center of the Mojave Desert. Fun fact: it’s the driest North American desert and you can really, really, really feel the heat come summertime (June through August).

It is oh-so-important to hydrate amid the summer elements, especially if you plan on indulging in the yard-long drinks you’ll inevitably buy and recreational cannabis (yes, it’s legal here). If the raucous Vegas pool parties are your speed – like Tao Beach or Wet Republic – wearing and reapplying sunscreen is vital so you don’t end up looking like a ripe tomato. By braving said elements, you’ll be treated with “low season” level flight and hotel costs. Do keep an eye out for big summer draws – like the Life is Beautiful festival , the Fourth of July and World Series of Poker – as prices can tick up.

One final note, June to mid-September is considered Las Vegas’ monsoon season. A quarter-of-an-inch of rain can equate to rushing water, flooded roads and major traffic in these parts, given the surrounding mountainous geography.

Las Vegas Golden Knights celebrate a win at the T-Mobile Arena

The fall (September to November) and spring (March to May) are the best times for perfect weather and unique Vegas spectacles

Ah, there are two pockets of the year in Vegas when things are just right. March through May, you can count on daily highs in the 70 to 90-degree range. And, yes, depending on where you are from, 90 may sound hot, but it’s a dry heat. In September and October, the high temps carry the same spectrum. Nights can get cooler, in the 30 to 50 range, so pack accordingly.

As these are considered Vegas’ “high seasons,” lodging and travel costs are pricier as a whole. Within these months are some of the biggest annual events for the city, too. Among them are the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival (typically May), Pennzoil 400 and South Point 400 races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (typically October) and – launched in 2023 – the Las Vegas Grand Prix (typically November).

If you’re interested in traveling for the Grand Prix, check out this article where we asked Formula 1 expert Nicky Handelby how to plan a trip to see a race.

An increasingly quintessential Las Vegas experience is catching a home game for its beloved National Hockey League franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena . In recent times, Las Vegas has become the hotspot for new professional sports teams – including the Raiders football team and Aces women’s basketball team. But no team has a local fan base and in-stadium experience like the Knights (a marching band, an on-ice pre-game show that involves a knight-infused duel and slot sounds aplenty, oh my!), a fervor further boosted by its 2023 Stanley Cup win. The team’s regular season typically runs from early October through early April.

Night view of the Linq Ferris Wheel and a Christmas tree in Las Vegas

December through February are the best times for quirky holiday happenings... and skiing, too

There is something so visually contrasting yet magical about a desert getting all holiday-ed out come wintertime. This is the time of year to ice skate on the roof of the Cosmopolitan , experience the 5 million-LED light holiday drive-thru that is Glittering Lights  at the Las Vegas Speedway, and, yes, ski Lee Canyon , just under an hour northwest of The Strip.

To many ill-prepared tourists’ surprise, Las Vegas does get cold, too, with daily highs touching 60 and lows in the 20s during this timeframe. While prices in town and to get to Las Vegas aren’t quite at the summer lows during this time, plenty of deals are to be had. Bargain hunters should avoid National Finals Rodeo Week (typically December) as seemingly every cowboy on Earth is in town. New Year’s Eve is a cluttered spectacle too, drawing more than 400,000 tourists to The Strip in recent times.

Las Vegas is a world of imagination. Just close your eyes and think about anything, and the odds are in your favor that you'll find it in Las Vegas. I mean, in only four miles of real estate, you can see relics from all parts of the world, like ancient Egypt, modern-day Venice, the streets of Paris, and the New York skyline. If that seems too kitschy, don't worry, there are plenty of elaborate resorts with non-stop gaming and over-the-top entertainment waiting to greet you. Where else in the world does a wonderland like this exist? Nowhere. But. Vegas.

The atmosphere of Las Vegas is something that you almost have to experience to understand fully. It's the ringing of chimes as a guest just hit the jackpot, the thumping bass from the club, the smell of unique and eclectic delicacies waiting to be tasted, and it's people-watching like nothing you've seen before. It's a never-ending source of irony and improbability where you can turn a chip and a chair into a million dollars.

For each visitor, Las Vegas is going to present a unique experience. It's like an equation where you + more = more of you: more chances to explore your personality, more opportunities to experiment with new ideas, and more thrills to discover around every corner. It's that reason alone that the sentiment "what happens here, stays here" is shared by so many visitors.

Before You Go

  • To make it easier to replace your passport if it’s lost or stolen, in addition to your passport, take a photocopy of your passport information page (keeping it separate from your actual passport).
  • Carry only a limited amount of cash, just enough for gratuities and incidental purchases. Major credit cards are widely accepted and can be replaced if lost or stolen.
  • Always lock your hotel room door (including patio and balcony door on any level of the building) and use the peephole before opening the door.
  • Store your valuables (such as cash, credit cards and airline tickets) in the hotel’s in-room safe or front desk safety deposit box.
  • If you must carry valuables on your person, do so in a pouch or money belt concealed under your clothing. Purses and backpacks can be easy targets for thieves.
  • For complete and current safety and security information, including travelers' tips, public announcements, travel advisories and more, please visit the website of the U.S. Department of State at www.travel.state.gov.
  • December through February: 60° to 66° (Winter)
  • March through May: 72° to 90° (Spring)
  • June through August: 102° to 104° (Summer)
  • September through November: 96° to 70° (Autumn)

The Vegas climate's bark is worse than its bite. Sure, summer highs hover around 100°F, but with no humidity and ever-present air-conditioning, you'll be comfortable as long as you have water on hand. Even the warmer months (June-September) are entirely bearable if you hydrate. Luckily, with 300 days of sunshine a year, the chances of a rain-out are slim. On the other hand, nights can be chilly between late fall and early spring, so bring a sweater or windbreaker for your evening strolls beneath the neon-bathed skies. Las Vegas doesn't have a high or low season by the standard definition, but you'll find it the least crowded between November and January. Hotels are at their fullest July through October. Specific events—New Year's Eve, spring break, major conventions, sporting events—draw big crowds, so plan accordingly.

Fast Travel: The Best Itinerary For Spending 48 Hours in Las Vegas

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission.

Las Vegas is a city that's almost overwhelmingly energetic, and when you're on a tight schedule, you're going to want to maximize your fun potential. Will you grab a ticket to one of dozens of electric residencies like Carrie Underwood ? Or are you going to try and score a reservation to a fine dining eatery like Aqua for some seafood from a Michelin-starred chef ? It can be difficult to know just where to start your adventure when there's so much to do and it can feel like the strip was practically built on FOMO.

Whether you're trying to pack in a quick weekend trip, or making the most out of an extended layover, we suggest starting off by picking a resort to anchor your 48-hour Vegas experience around. What happens in Vegas doesn't need to stay in Vegas, but you certainly need a place to - and we think the most luxurious weekend starts and ends at Resorts World Las Vegas .

With high-end accommodations, world-class dining options, and stellar entertainment options, this is a sign to book that trip you've been meaning to take. As Vegas veterans ourselves, we've curated an itinerary below chock-full of the best ways to make the most of your stay in Vegas .

Knowing which spots are worth booking can be as confusing as your first time playing poker. The good news: if you're searching for a destination that gives you access to eating a mouth-watering meal, dancing the night away, and then making it back to your room in one piece afterwards, Resorts World Las Vegas checks all the boxes.

Once you arrive in Vegas, head to the energetic Conrad , one of the three luxe Hilton hotels that Resorts World offers that you can book online . Go for the shows, stay for the boutique shopping and buzzing nightlife. Drop your bags down in one of the Premium Rooms that comes with a king bed, or settle into a Strip View Two-Bedroom Suite with some insane views of the Vegas Strip below and the mountains beyond the desert that'll make you feel like you've really "arrived".

Time to start your day off right with the most important meal of the day - and trust us when we say you're going to want a breakfast that will fuel you through every step of the Strip. Chef Ray Garcia's ¡VIVA! hosts an excellent brunch every Saturday and Sunday that features elevated Mexican brunch favorites, in addition to boozy and bottomless beverages (we wouldn't recommend this first thing since you're going to have a packed day, but their Fresa Sandia is quite good if that's the way your day is going). Get the Chorizo Con Huevos or the Chilaquiles with fresh, crispy heirloom corn tortilla chips and thank us later.

Mid-Morning

Take a stroll through the The District shopping esplanade where you'll find 70,000 square feet of shopping in case that compact carry-on of yours couldn't fit another clubbing shirt. The most eye-catching part of the area though is the 50-foot, LED-panel-covered Globe (affectionately called "The Orb" on our last trip) that's definitely worth checking out. The Globe offers an immersive art experience, and you can catch a short show with synced lights and music every hour on the hour from noon to 1 a.m.

Head back into the hotel for lunch at one of the coolest collections of eateries on the Strip, the Famous Foods Street Eats. This buzzy food hall is inspired by the energetic street markets of Singapore and Southeast Asia, and some of the stalls actually come from Singapore, like Boon Tong Kee, which uses a Hainanese chicken rice recipe that dates to 1979. It's a lively sport that's great for trying a couple different dishes, like the lechón stuffed with truffle rice at Pepita's Kitchen or the flaky roti from Springleaf Prata Place. There's not a single bad bite amongst the pack, so go nuts.

Mid-Afternoon

If you're ready to fist-pump to a hot DJ set, but you also want to be in bed at a reasonable hour, slip into a swimsuit and head over to Ayu Dayclub . Resorts World's Bali-inspired poolside party turns the weekend into a never-ending summer, with white daybeds and chic wooden cabanas you can rent if you're not ready to pack into the pool with everyone else. Even if you're just sipping a drink on dry land, it's a certified vibe, and you might even get to see one of the repeat artists like Kaskade or T-Pain step up to the DJ booth.

That being said, if a "dayclub" isn't your scene, we still suggest beating that Vegas heat and cooling off at one of the seven pools on property (including the only infinity pool on the Strip).

Early Evening

After a relaxing poolside afternoon soaking up some sun, go back to Famous Foods Street Eats and make your way to Ms. Meow's Mamak Stall for a secret surprise. Amidst the small shop selling Asian snacks and adorned with lucky cats, ask the person behind the register at Ms. Meow's to push the shelf-lined wall, and you can slip into the entrance of an intimate speakeasy, Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den. Open daily at 4 p.m., this relaxed and cozy spot seats 34 and serves up tropical cocktails into the wee hours. Sip on the "Hanami," a sake drink with hints of sakura for a pre-dinner cocktail and take picks by the neon tiger on the exposed brick. But be sure to come here early after opening - this buzzy bar isn't so much of a secret anymore, and fills up fast.

Now that you've had a drink (or two) and are ready for a night out, start with dinner at Wally's , a beloved transplant from Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. The mouthwatering charcuterie boards are a can't-miss, filled with peppery wagyu beef salami and L'Amuse Gouda, although the baguette stuffed with brie and a staggering amount of truffles (in the honey, butter, and shaved variety) is also a great choice. And with a selection of more 100 wines by the glass, pull up a chair, sip on a rare pour, and get ready for some of the best elevated comfort food on the Strip.

Late Evening

With so many bars, lounges, and concerts at Resorts World, you've already got a wide range of options for wherever you want the night to take you. Resorts World Theatre might be able to accommodate 5,000, but seeing a show there will feel more like you're at an intimate club. It even boasts an immersive sound system designed by L-Acoustics. In other words, it sounds really freaking good, no matter where you're sitting. See the biggest names in comedy like Kevin Hart, or get a front-row seat to Carrie Underwood - one of the year's most-anticipated shows to see in Vegas. The Grammy winner's Reflection residency kicked off November 2023, and just added more dates through 2024, so you don't want to miss it.

Since it's technically your last day in Vegas, you're going to want to hit the ground running with some quick bites to keep that Vegas train rolling. Sun's Out Buns Out single-handedly saved us during our last Vegas trip thanks to both a post-Zouk, late-night Furikake Fries, and a Bacon, Egg & Cheese the morning after. If you couldn't already tell, there's one key ingredient here: eggs. Sun's Out Buns Out serves up egg dishes all day, every day, so grab a fast breakfast here to start your day sunny-side up.

In case you want to sleep in and skip breakfast to maximize your night owl potential, or are still hungry after breakfast, we love Fuhu's high-energy dining room . It's more than just a pregaming spot (although it's a pretty great pregaming spot), it also has a stellar brunch with an Asian flair and hand-crafted signature drinks. Since it's from Zouk Group, you can listen to DJs and special acts while you munch on scoops of king crab and truffle fried rice (there's a lot of truffle in this town). The vibe is dark, stylish, and sexy, overall a highly Instagrammable spot.

Let's slow things down for a little bit and take a break from the bustle of Vegas at the ultra-luxurious Awana Spa . Resorts World's haven takes a more energetic approach to the spa experience, and socializing is encouraged here, where the Foot Spa Lounge is outfitted with TVs so you can catch any number of games while you ease your tired feet. Head over to the Fountain of Youth, which features six vitality pools, warming tepidarium chairs, steam rooms, cool mist showers and more - all while transportational videos play on a wraparound LED screen that shows you a calming film of the tops of snowy peaks or rushing waterfalls.

For a pre-dinner libation, take an elevator ride to the top of Resorts World to the Allē Lounge on 66 , a dimly lit, inviting spot with wood floors and plush velvet armchairs. The 66th-floor lounge is an elegant spot to sip craft cocktails like a Genting Old Fashioned (Highland Park 12 Year, Demerara Syrup, Angostura Aromatic Bitters, and Regan's Orange Bitters). But the main attraction here is the breathtaking view of the Strip from its floor-to-ceiling windows, especially when it's lit up at night. There's even a telescope so you can grab a closer peek.

Be sure to reserve a table well in advance for a late dinner at Genting Palace , which has always delighted us with their authentic Chinese cuisine offerings. Its décor is old-world glamour mixed with whimsicality, where you can indulge in dishes like the popular roasted Peking duck (carved tableside), bird's nest soup, and shrimp doused in XO sauce. If you can't snag a reservation, head over to the adjacent lounge and savor some mouthwatering dim sum (try the scallop siu mai!) and choice cocktails.

It's been a long (almost) 48 hours, but you should go out with a bang with a night out at the scene-y Zouk Nightclub. When the sun goes down, the vibes come to life, with high-tech lighting displays (seeing the laser light fixture descend down from the ceiling was the highlight of our last trip) and room-shaking sound. Your favorite DJs have probably performed there, and on any given night you could catch a set from Odesza, Deadmau5, DJ Snake, and more. Afterwards, you can crash back at your Conrad suit and reflect on your successful 48 hours in Las Vegas.

Politics | Biden honors US war dead with a cemetery visit ending a French trip that served as a rebuke to Trump

Before returning to the United States, Biden honored America’s war dead at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery about an hour outside Paris. He placed a wreath at the cemetery chapel before an expanse of white headstones marking the final resting place of more than 2,200 U.S. soldiers who fought in World War I.

It was a solemn end to five days in which Trump was an unspoken yet unavoidable presence. On the surface, the trip marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day and celebrated the alliance between the United States and France. But during an election year when Trump has called into question fundamental understandings about America’s global role, Biden has embraced his Republican predecessor — and would-be successor — as a latent foil.

Every ode to the transatlantic partnership was a reminder that Trump could upend those relationships. Each reference to democracy stood a counterpoint to his rival’s efforts to overturn a presidential election. The myriad exhortations to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia created a contrast with Trump’s skepticism about providing U.S. assistance.

Biden’s paeans to the struggle between democracy and autocracy drew plaudits in Europe, where the prospect of a return to Trump’s turbulent reign has sparked no shortage of anxiety. But it remains to be seen how the message will resonate with American voters, as Biden’s campaign struggles to connect the dire warnings the Democratic president so often delivers about his rival with people’s daily concerns.

The visit to the cemetery served as a moment to underscore the contrast once more.

“It’s the same story,” Biden said. “America showed up. America showed up to stop the Germans. America showed up to make sure that they did not prevail. And America shows up when we’re needed just like our allies show for us.”

During a 2018 trip to France, Trump skipped plans to go to the cemetery, a decision that the White House blamed on weather at the time. However, subsequent reports said that Trump told aides he didn’t want to go because he viewed the dead soldiers as “suckers” and “losers.” Trump has denied the comments, although they were later corroborated by his chief of staff at the time, John Kelly.

Trump’s purported insults have become a regular feature of Biden’s campaign speeches, including during an April rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

“These soldiers were heroes, just as every American who has served this nation,” Biden said. “Believing otherwise, that alone is disqualifying for someone to seek this office.”

Biden ignored a direct question about Trump at the cemetery but said it was important to visit the hallowed ground. “The idea that I would come to Normandy and not make the short trip here to pay tribute,” he added, his voice trailing off as if to express disbelief.

Trump, at a campaign rally in Las Vegas, said Sunday after Biden had left France that the president’s performance overseas was “terrible” and embarrassing, though Trump did not cite anything in particular. “This is not a representative for what used to be the greatest country,” he told his supporters, adding that under Biden “we are a nation in major decline and we’re going to stop it immediately.”

Maura Sullivan, a former Marine officer who served on the American Battle Monuments Commission under President Barack Obama, said Biden’s visit would “set the example, and do what a president should do.” Now an official with the New Hampshire Democratic Party, Sullivan said that “voters can draw their own conclusions” from that.

Biden’s trip was full of emotional moments, and the president grew heavy-eyed after meeting with World War II veterans. A 21-gun salute cast eerie smoke over 9,388 white marble headstones at the Normandy American Cemetery.

“This has been the most remarkable trip that I’ve ever made,” Biden said on Saturday night, his last in Paris before returning to the U.S.

At Aisne-Marne, Biden said the trip “surprised me how much it awakened my sense of why it’s so valuable to have these alliances. Why it’s so critical. That’s the way you stop wars, not start wars.”

His remarks over the last few days were also freighted with political overtones.

On Thursday at Normandy anniversary ceremonies, Biden said D-Day served a reminder that alliances make the United States stronger, calling it “a lesson that I pray we Americans never forget.” He also highlighted how the war effort drew on immigrants, women and people of color who were too often overlooked by history.

Then on Friday, he went to Pointe du Hoc, a spot on the coast where Army Rangers scaled cliffs to overcome Nazi defenses on D-Day that was also the site in 1984 of one of President Ronald Reagan’s most memorable speeches about the struggles between the West and the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

By following in an iconic Republican’s footsteps, Biden honed his appeal to traditional conservatives who are often frustrated by Trump’s isolationist vision. Biden issued a call for Americans to protect democracy like the Rangers who scaled the cliffs, a message that synced with campaign rhetoric that paints his election opponent as an existential threat to U.S. values.

While Biden was in France, his campaign announced that it had hired the onetime chief of staff to former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger to lead outreach to GOP voters. Kinzinger clashed with Trump’s foreign policy and efforts to overturn the last presidential election.

At Pointe du Hoc, Biden said the Army Rangers “fought to vanquish a hateful ideology in the ’30s and ’40s. Does anyone doubt they wouldn’t move heaven and earth to vanquish hateful ideologies of today?”

Trump has argued that the U.S. needs to devote more attention to its own problems and less to foreign alliances and entanglements. He has also routinely played down the importance of American partnerships, suggesting the U.S. could abandon its treaty commitments to defend European allies if they don’t pay enough for their own defenses.

Douglas Brinkley, a presidential historian who wrote a book about Pointe du Hoc and Reagan’s speech, said Biden “had big shoes to step into” by choosing the same location.

Biden’s speech “didn’t equal Reagan’s in grandeur, nor could it,” Brinkley said. Still, he said Biden “said the right words about why democracy matters.”

Paul Begala, a veteran Democratic strategist, said it could help Biden politically “to stand where Reagan stood.”

He noted that Biden is struggling with younger voters but appears to be gaining strength among older ones who may be more receptive to reminders of Reagan’s speech four decades ago.

“He needs a lot of Reagan Republicans to offset his challenges with younger voters,” he said.

Biden’s trip was also punctuated by the pomp of a state visit in Paris.

French President Emmanuel Macron arranged a ceremony at the Arc du Triomphe, where four fighter jets flew overhead, and hosted a banquet at the Elysee presidential palace.

“United we stand, divided we fall,” Macron said in toasting Biden. “Allied we are, and allied we will stay.”

Overall, Biden’s visit had a slower pace than other foreign trips. The 81-year-old president had no public events on his first day in Paris after arriving on an overnight flight, and didn’t hold a press conference with reporters, as is customary. John Kirby, a national security spokesman, said that was necessary to prepare “in advance of the weighty engagements” during subsequent days.

“There’s a lot on the calendar,” he said.

Still, it was a contrast to Macron’s tendency to offer prestigious guests an intense schedule with a mix of official meetings, business talks, cultural events and private dinners at fancy restaurants.

When the 46-year-old French leader hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping last month, the two-day agenda was crammed with activities including a trip to the Pyrenees Mountains near the border with Spain where Macron spent time as a child.

Associated Press writer Jonathan J. Cooper in Las Vegas and Sylvie Corbet contributed to this report.

6 hospitalized for heat-related injuries following Trump rally in Las Vegas

Donald Trump addressed his supporters at Sunset Park in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Former President Donald Trump rallied voters in the scorching heat of Las Vegas, at points telling his supporters to ask for help if needed and appearing irritable with the teleprompters that he said were not working.

The presumptive GOP nominee’s campaign hired extra medics, loaded up on fans and water bottles and allowed supporters to carry umbrellas to an outdoor rally Sunday in Las Vegas, where temperatures exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius). The Clark County Fire Department said most of the medical calls were related to the heat, six people were sent to a hospital and 24 others were treated on-site.

“I don’t want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don’t care about you. I just want your vote,” he said, adding that he was joking.

Earlier in his speech, he said the campaign would offer help to people who were feeling tired and joked that “everybody,” including the U.S. Secret Service, was worried about the safety of the crowds and not about him.

“The hotter the better. I don’t care as long as we’re doing the right thing, god’s going to keep us alive,” one event attendee told FOX5.

Another attendee, Tracy Lee, added, “There is water being handed out by the event itself for everybody. It’s free. So no concerns, I think we’re good. There’s fans everywhere blowing mist.”

Trump also added, “They never mentioned me. I’m up here sweating like a dog. This is hard work.”

Trump returned to Nevada , one of the top battleground states in the November election, for his second rally since he was found guilty in a hush-money scandal .

The unprecedented conviction of a former president has juiced Trump’s fundraising and galvanized his supporters, but it remains to be seen whether it will sway swing voters. Trump is scheduled to be interviewed by New York probation officials via a video conference Monday, a required step before his July sentencing.

Temperatures in the Southwest have cooled since reaching historic highs late last week but remain above normal for this time of year and topped 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) at the rally, which took place at a park with little shade next to the airport.

Well into his speech, Trump said it was “not as bad” as he thought it would be, and said he was angrier with the teleprompters not working well, even when he used to mock President Barack Obama for relying on that device.

“I pay all this money to teleprompter people, and I’d say 20% of the time, they don’t work,” he said, adding he would not pay the vendor who provided the prompters. “It’s a mess.”

Campaign organizers handed out water bottles as supporters waited in line to be screened by security officers. Inside the venue, large misting fans, pallets of water, and cooling tents were placed around the perimeter.

“This is a dry heat. This ain’t nothing for Las Vegas people,” Nevada GOP Chair Michael McDonald said. “But what it symbolizes for the rest of the United States — we will walk through hell” to elect Donald Trump.

McDonald and five other Republicans have been accused of submitting certificates to Congress falsely declaring Trump the winner of Nevada’s 2020 presidential election and their trial has been pushed to next year.

Trump said the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to contest the election were “victims” of a “setup.”

“They were really, more than anything else, they are victims of what happened. All they were doing is protesting a rigged election. That’s what they were doing. And then the police say, go in, go in, go in, go in,” he said. “What a setup that was. A horrible, horrible thing.”

The conspiracy theory that the Jan. 6 rioters were encouraged by law enforcement is widespread on the right but has no basis in fact . Many of those who were at the Capitol on Jan. 6 have said — proudly , publicly, repeatedly — that they did so to help the then-president.

Federal and state election officials and Trump’s own attorney general have said there is no credible evidence the 2020 election was tainted. The former president’s allegations of fraud were also roundly rejected by courts, including by judges Trump appointed.

The campaign paid for additional EMS services to be on-site in the case of an emergency. The Secret Service made an exception to allow people to bring in personal water bottles and umbrellas.

“You know what? It’s worth it,” said Camille Lombardi, a 65-year-old retired nurse from Henderson in suburban Las Vegas who was seeing Trump in person for the first time. “Too bad it wasn’t indoors, but that’s OK.”

During a Trump rally in Arizona on Thursday, the Phoenix Police Department said 11 people were transported to hospitals, treated, and released for heat exhaustion. Many of Trump’s supporters waited in line for hours and some were unable to get inside before the venue reached capacity. The temperature reached a record 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius) that day.

Trump’s Nevada rally, his third in the state this year, came on the tail end of a Western swing that included several high-dollar fundraisers where he was expected to rake in millions of dollars.

Democrat Hillary Clinton won Nevada in 2016 as did President Joe Biden in 2020 , but Nevada was the only battleground state where Trump did better against Biden than Clinton. In the 2022 midterms, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, a Democrat, was the only incumbent governor who did not win reelection.

Trump hopes his strength among working-class voters and growing interest from Latinos will push him to victory in the state.

In a play for Nevada’s massive service-sector workforce, Trump said he’d seek to eliminate taxes on tips, a major source of income for food servers, bartenders, and others who power glitzy Las Vegas hotels.

The Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge criticized Trump for making that promise, a measure he said the union has fought for decades.

“Relief is definitely needed for tip earners, but Nevada workers are smart enough to know the difference between real solutions and wild campaign promises from a convicted felon,” he said in a statement.

Trump’s campaign announced a renewed push for Hispanic voters ahead of the event with a Latino Americans for Trump Coalition. Four of the speakers who warmed up the crowd before Trump took the stage were Hispanic immigrants.
