This tour starts with the opportunity to explore the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, famous for its collection of orchids and tropical plants. This tranquil garden was founded by Raymond Burr in 1977. From here the tour visits the chiefly village of Viseisei, the legendary landing site of the first Fijians. After time to wander around this seaside village the tour continues into Nadi, to the site of the largest Hindu Temple in the South Pacific. What Does Your Tour Involve?

• A vehicle that is comfortable, modern, and fully air-conditioned
• Driver and a separate English-speaking local guide
• This is a private tour for your party exclusively.
• Pick up and drop off inside the wharf at your convenience.

On the day, your guide can recommend the finest possibilities for sightseeing, particularly if no strenuous physical activity is required, or you can select what you want instead.

• Payment is made in full at the time of booking – there are no hidden fees or credit card charges.
• There are no minimum or maximum numbers; any amount is acceptable.
• Entry fees are not included and must be paid in Fijian dollars alone.
• Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and are usually placed near the port or ATMs.
• Any travel outside the Nadi / Lautoka / Suva town region will be charged an additional fee.

Here’s a list of everything to see and do on a tour that begins from Nadi Airport. On the day, choose what you want to do, and your guide will take you there based on the available time. All admission fees will be your responsibility. If necessary, your guide can make a stop at an ATM

Places To Visit

Viseisei village.

Take a tour through the Presidential Village of Viseisei (meaning “spread out”), which is said to be close to where the Fijian people initially established Fiji some 3500 years ago. A chance to purchase some local handicrafts. The entry price is $5 FJD per person. On Sundays, the restaurant is closed. Allow 20 minutes for this break.

Sleeping Giant Tour & Mudpool

Take a plunge in the Sabeto therapeutic Mud Pools & Hot Springs before receiving a traditional Fijian Bobo (Massage) from the Sabeto village Fijian ladies (optional). The entry price is $30 FJD per person. Towel rental is $5 FJD. Seven days a week. This step should take 45 minutes.

Do the Waterfall Walk and then go swimming. It takes around 20 minutes one way and is not appropriate for pushchairs. Extra cost for admission. Seven days a week. Please remember that the waterfall may not be as “magical” owing to a lack of rain, but there will always be a swimming hole. This path is located near the Zip Line. Allow one hour for this break.

Chicken and meat are dressed in sauces and garlic before being wrapped in aluminum, placed in a hole with hot pebbles, covered with banana leaves, and cooked for 2-3 hours. The flavor is similar to that of a smoked or BBQ supper.

Nadi Temple

Visit the most significant Hindu Temple in the southern hemisphere, which exhibits an architectural style rarely seen outside of India and holds sacred figures sculpted by Indian artisans transported over. Located on the outskirts of Nadi. The entry price is $8 FJD per person. Seven days a week. Allow 15 minutes for this break.

5-Hour Private Guided Tour

The 5-hour “Discover Nadi Tour” is a private guided tour where you decide where and what to see. It’s highly adaptable and was created for cruise ship passengers visiting Port Denarau.

The pick-up time for this tour is flexible; however, please remember that you will be tendered into this port. The aim is to go through all of the alternatives below and think about what you want to see.

Then, on the day of the tour, you’ll discuss your preferences with your guide, who will advise you on the best method to complete the time. Please be aware that some tour options are unavailable on Sundays.

It might cost you a bit more but you save yourself lots of time and energy. When we got to Fiji - we ended up waiting for another travelers to clear immigration and customs, the van was average but driver were friendly. Departing to airport was different story - firstly I wanted to change time of pick up for a later one, I called twice, first time the person on the phone had no clue of what is happening, transferred me to nowhere ..second time lady did seem to know what's going on. She stated that since other people need to be picked up on the way, she could not change time of departure. She offered me to upgrade to private transfer for extra $40 odd dollars. When I asked if I could cancel the trip, she said there would be a fee and she could not do it on the phone as she needed to talk with her boss. Anyways, I asked again if there would be other people on the bus going to airport at the same time as us, and hence the inability to change time. Got eyes and said we will be there for pick up at 4.50 am. Well guess what, shuttle was late, we were the only people on it. No other people picked up. 'The bus/van was making sounds as it was about to blow up. Driver did not bother to help us with the bags, and we arrived at filthy Nadi airport way before we wanted to be there. But that's it, We had to wait 45 minutes after we boarded because we choose shared ride. We do this all the time however we never have to wait for another flight to land and wait for passengers. Also the hotel was 13 minutes away so we could have been dropped off in that time. Pick up, waited, nothing, 20 minutes later called and they ask me to hold so they could check with driver. 5-7 minutes away. nope 20 minutes late so 45 minutes after we should have been collected. We had to load our own luggage and he didn't even talk to us. They forgot about us. Not a shared ride (bus) a car, with a driver whom scared me so bad l nearly asked him to stop driving and pull over. FJ$160 for the 2 trips which translated to $113AUD. A bit more expensive than some other alternatives but their office is in the airport which meant that we could confirm the time of our return pickup on the spot and we didn't have to worry about how long it took us to clear customs, exchange for local currency, purchase duty free etc. The car was an airconditioned and comfortable SUV with plenty of space for all of our luggage. 10 days later, a driver arrived at the Hilton lobby a few minutes before the appointed time and had us out at the airport in a very relaxed state with plenty of time to spare before our flight departed. We not only got an informative tour but also so much laughter on the way. It was so much fun driving through villages with childrens smiles beaming and the WWII Momi Battery was very interesting with a very knowledgeable guide, and the Lomawai Salt making village, Milli had the biggest smile and genuinely had a passion for salt making, the Biausevu waterfall was spectacular and we watched the local village children climb up and jump off the rocks. The trip to the resort was marred a little by some unexplained mechanical issue where we had to change vehicles, this happened smoothly and without stress. The driver was friendly and informative and we enjoyed his company. The roads were busy and hectic but the driver was very cautious and safe in the face of that. The return to the airport was very early in the morning and he arrived exactly on time driving us carefully and safely back to the airport. I booked through 'Airport Shuttle Fiji' website which utilises TTF (Tourist Transport Fiji) but is much cheaper. I emailed and confirmed that our ride was a private car (as there was 2 of us). The driver was friendly and helpful, and the car was a modern Landcruiser Prado with good aircon. Our return trip from Shangri-La to Nadi Airport was also easy with another friendly driver and a modern Prado. Definitely recommend!
