'You're Beautiful' singer to perform throughout February

James Blunt has announced a massive Greatest Hits tour for 2022, alongside a greatest hits album. Tickets go on presale at 10am on Wednesday 21 July, before heading on general sale at 10am on Friday 23 July.

Famed for acoustic ballad 'You're Beautiful', Blunt has gone on to release six studio albums. His latest release Once Upon A Mind came out in 2019 and marked a move into dance-inflected club anthems alongside his usual soft rock trappings.

This tour will be in support of his career-spanning greatest hits collection The Stars Beneath My Feet (2004-2021) , which will be released on Friday 19 November. James says, 'Amazingly, I'm releasing my Greatest Hits. I wanted to call it Greatest Hit (& Songs I Wish You'd Heard) , but the good people at Atlantic Records suggested I call it something more sensible, so it's called The Stars Beneath My Feet .

'If you'd ever wished that James Blunt had only ever released one album – this is that album. It's 30 awesome songs, including live performances from Glastonbury and elsewhere, and four new songs. To celebrate its release, I'll be heading out to tour the world all next year. I can't wait to see you then.'

The pop balladeer has also become well known for his acerbic and quick-witted Twitter feed just as much as his amiable tunes. He most recently shared a photo of himself with former One Direction star Harry Styles, signalling a potential future collaboration.

James Blunt Announces Greatest Hits Album ‘The Stars Beneath My Feet’

James Blunt will release a greatest hits album, The Stars Beneath My Feet (2004- 2021) , on November 19th via Atlantic Records. The 30-song collection spans the musician’s 17-year career, including hits like “You’re Beautiful” and “Cold.”

The album will feature four new songs, “Love Under Pressure,” “Unstoppable,” “Adrenaline,” and “I Came for Love,” as well as four exclusive live performances from around the world, including at Glastonbury Festival.

“Amazingly, I’m releasing my greatest hits,” Blunt said in a statement. “I wanted to call it Greatest Hit (& Songs I Wish You’d Heard) , but the good people at Atlantic Records suggested I call it something more sensible, so it’s called The Stars Beneath My Feet .”

He added: “If you’d ever wished that James Blunt had only ever released one album — this is that album. It’s 30 awesome songs, including live performances from Glastonbury and elsewhere, and four new songs. To celebrate its release, I’ll be heading out to tour the world all next year. I can’t wait to see you then.”

Blunt has also announced a U.K. tour for 2022, including a performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on July 23rd. The tour kicks off February 3rd in Brighton, U.K., and stops in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, and more.

James Blunt to play anniversary tour for album ‘people actually bought’

James Blunt will play a 20th anniversary tour to celebrate his debut album Back To Bedlam, which he says fans “actually bought”.

The English singer-songwriter, 50, released the tracks Goodbye My Lover and High from the record in 2004, and soon became a household name.

The album received five Grammy nominations, including song of the year for You’re Beautiful and best new artist for Blunt, and two Ivor Novello Awards, including international hit of the year for the same song.

Blunt will play five dates across the UK, kicking off on February 11 at Belfast’s SSE Arena and finishing on February 16 at London’s O2 Arena.

The Old Harrovian and former member of the Household Cavalry said: “I’ve been touring now for 20 years, and really, it’s only Back To Bedlam that people want to hear… so on that album’s 20th anniversary, what better way to celebrate than to head out on the Back To Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour.

“I’ll play all the songs from Back To Bedlam in full, from start to finish, and chuck in the better known songs from later albums to finish. It’s going to be, well, it pains me to say it… beautiful.”

Last year, he released his seventh studio album, Who We Used To Be, a documentary called James Blunt: One Brit Wonder and the book Loosely Based On A Made-Up Story: A Non-Memoir.

Blunt said: “I’ve released seven studio albums, but Back To Bedlam was the one people actually bought.

“So on its 20th anniversary, the record label and I thought we should repackage it with some early demos, and milk it for all it’s worth.

“It was one of the biggest selling albums of the Noughties, so here’s hoping it makes a dent in the 20s.”

The record was named the UK’s second biggest debut album by the Official Charts Company in 2022.

Blunt is also playing at Leeds First Direct Arena on February 13, Glasgow’s Ovo Hydro Arena on February 14 and Manchester’s AO Arena on February 15.

Back To Bedlam has been remastered for 2024 with previously unreleased demos of the core songs and unreleased tracks.

Unbelievable! Best show I've ever been to! He has such an amazing voice and is so natural with it. He makes the show inclusive for the audience and his funny stories really tie the experience together.

An amazing performance with so much energy. Far far better than we even hoped. The only criticism was that the onscreen projection audio and video were out of synch, which was really irritating. We were sitting near the techies and I passed the info to the security guys who were literally only 3m from the sound desk but they didn’t bother passing the message on. Shame as I had explained that I’m a videographer so wasn’t just complaining to be a nuisance. I really hope they don’t make the same mistake throughout the tour!

I didn't know what to expect. 11,000 fans at Manchester Victoria and he didn't disappoint. His voice is so unique, the songs catchy and at times emotional. It felt like I knew all the songs even though I can guess I had only listened to about 5. Not once was I disappointed. He engaged the audience as though we were all friends. The band were tight and I liked the 3 floating screens. Well worth £25 of anyone's money and will be back next time he tours

Irish singer Darren Kiely 'excited' to support James Blunt on tour

Rising Irish singer-songwriter Darren Kiely will support James Blunt during the Irish leg of his upcoming tour.

Darren, who is based in Nashville, was announced as a special guest for Blunt's Co Limerick show this week. The performance is being hosted by the iconic music venue Dolan's at The Docklands on August 25.

Speaking to IrishStar.com , Darren said: "It's very exciting to be supporting an artist I have loved since I was small. I would have listened to CDs of his growing up over and over."

The Co Cork native, who began signing just five years ago, has exploded on social media. His videos have over four million likes on TikTok and his songs have been streamed over seven million times around the world.

Darren dropped his first EP Lost earlier this year and is currently touring Europe. He was also recently announced as part of the lineup for the upcoming Electric Picnic music festival in Ireland.

He said: "Playing Electric Picnic was the ultimate goal and dream I had when I first wanted to put out my own music. So for that to be happening, it's mad really."

Darren moved to the US in 2022, but he never thought his music career would take off the way it has. He was working for an accounting firm in Manhattan when he first started playing around New York City , mostly in Irish bars, and everything "just kept building", as he put it.

“Coming to the US kind of gives you a clean slate. No one knew me here and they know me more as a musician than anything else because of it."

Dolan's also shared the news of the James Blunt gig online this week. The venue said: "We are delighted to have Darren added to this great night!"
