We did the night ride last summer. The kids said it was the highlight of their trip. Our tour guide Vlad was great. Explained the bikes, the sites, the history. Really like that they go off the beaten path and even when it is a major site like the Louvre, they explain the secret side. Highly recommend them!

Wonderful tour with Vlad for evening on electric bikes! Highly recommend! Good stories! 8:30pn to 11pm still twilight for most of the tour. recommended: summer jacket when it's late.

I highly recommend Paris Charms & Secrets for a thorough tour of old Paris on an e-bike. Our guide, Pierre, was knowledgeable and passionate about the city, and he took us to all the best spots. We learned about the history of Paris, saw some of the most iconic landmarks, and even got to explore some hidden gems. The e-bikes made it easy to get around, and we were able to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Paris. We learned about the history of Paris, from its founding by the Romans to its modern-day status as a global city. We saw some of the most iconic landmarks in Paris, such as the Arc de Triomphe. We explored some hidden gems in Paris. Pierre was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, passionate, and funny. He made the tour enjoyable and informative. Book this tour now! It was incredible and we enjoyed every minute of it. These tour guides are students of history and will teach you stories about France in an engaging way. The e-bikes are easy to ride and allow you to cover a lot of ground. The four hours went by so quickly, we are still reminiscing about all the things we learned!

Absolutely one of the best things that we did while in Paris! The E-bikes are amazingly easy to use and you feel like you are sailing through the streets! There is so much information and background given to you on this tour that you feel like a part of the city. The nighttime tour was the one we chose and we could not have been happier. We actually wished we had done this sooner as it took away some of our concern with renting E-bikes (would have made travel a lot easier had we learned this first). The tour was very personal and you felt like you were with a friend, not a guide. I would do this tour again if I returned to Paris. DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR, you will not regret it at all.

You MUST do this bike tour! This bike tour was recommended by a friend. It, by far, was the most fun thing my mom & I did during our trip in Paris. This was one of the best afternoons in our travels. Our guide (Didier aka Olivier) is obviously an accomplished historian. As a native Parisian who is very passionate about the history of this great old city, he made the 4 1/2 hrs go by in a flash. This is something every visitor to the City of Light should do. This is my third visit to Paris and the first time I really felt the essence of the city. There is a considerable amount of walking and standing so those who have difficulty walking a lot or standing a lot might be a little challenged. But most people will find they are able to do the tour and will find it well worth the effort. Say what you will about the massive overindulgences of the monarchs of yore, they built the most beautiful edifices, public spaces, parks and gardens- all of which are bringing in massive revenues today to England, France, Germany, China and so on. It may have been all about them at the time but history and time has shown that these over the top projects built mostly on the backs of their subjects are currently a source of great national pride and identity as well as tourist revenue and worldwide prestige. Modern politicians who must answer to the people (who ALWAYS ALWAYS say anything and everything costs too much) can and will never create anything of lasting value. Democracies and republics may balance the books with their fickle sheeplike constituents, but there is something to be said for the products of absolute monarchs.

Wonderful Sites of Paris by Bike

This is a must-do tour when visiting Paris! Pier was a great host, storyteller, historian, and tour guide. He showed us a side of Paris that immersed us with the locals while detailing the beautiful and historic stories of Paris over the course of the 4 hour bike journey. 5/5 stars!!

I'm so glad I booked this tour! I did the 4-hour e-bike tour with Pierre and cannot say enough good things about the experience. Pierre was an exceptional guide; he was personable and passionate and made the experience memorable and thoroughly enjoyable. I enjoyed every minute of the tour and highly recommend it to others. What a fantastic way to spend time in Paris! If you are lucky enough to have Pierre as your tour guide, as we did, you will learn a ton and have a blast. Pierre is such a wonderful guide: so funny, knowledgeable, and charismatic that we felt bonded to him and other members of our group almost immediately. As a seasoned traveler, I will say that this is one of the top tours that I have taken. Our guide, Daniel, was outstanding. He was extremely accommodating and did a great job setting expectations, preparing us for our e-bike adventure. Would highly recommended starting your Paris visit with this tour as it gives you an opportunity to see a lot of the city and lay a foundation of understanding for other tourist centric activities, such as Palace of Versailles and the Louvre.

Paris secrets and street Art

The Paris Bike Tour: the Secrets stands out from our other bike tours as it dives deeper into what makes Paris so unique aside from its monuments and museums. This tour takes place entirely on back streets so you’ll see a more authentic and charming side of Paris, one that most tourists only dream about finding.

You’ll pop into a 400 year old building and explore the book lined walls of the Shakespeare and Co. bookshop. On your Blue Bike™ you’ll cycle past the oldest tree in Paris and into the alleys of the Latin Quarter you’ll learn about the Street Art movement in Paris. That way you’ll recognize some of Paris’ most celebrated street art such as the Space Invaders and the many faces of Gregos which pop out from our city’s walls.

Oldest Café in the world and the Pantheon

Wandering into a covered passageway you’ll look through a window and see pastry chefs creating delicacies. Then you’ll realize you’re standing in front of the oldest café in the world, a place where a revolution was planned and where Benjamin Franklin penned some of the Constitution of the United States.

Cycling through the market street of Rue de Buci you’ll smell the fresh baked goods and see thousands of fresh fruits and flowers all around you. You might notice a shop that has been making tiny lead soldiers since the 1700’s and wonder how they can still be there after 250 years. That’s when you’ll remember you’re in Paris and this place is magic.

You’ll have a chance to learn about and explore inside the fascinating church that Dan Brown used in his “Da Vinci Code” where you’ll find the Rose Line for yourself. Leaving the church behind you’ll go up an alley and read a backwards poem on the wall about a drunken boat then cycle alongside the beautiful Luxembourg garden. You’ll pause at the Pantheon, the final resting place of the most beloved “Great men and women of France” such as Victor Hugo and learn of their lives and legacies.

Roman Arena and Le Marais

Taking a break on rue Mouffetard you’ll admire the little crêpe shops, awesome french bakeries, and local café ambiance that is well off the beaten tourist trail. You’ll be able to choose whatever pleases you the most for your lunch and have 30 minutes to enjoy it.

Once finished with the break the adventure continues as the guide leads you to the center of our 2,000 year old Roman Arena and then across the Seine river into the historically Jewish neighborhood of Le Marais.

You’ll admire the lovely pedestrian street of Rue des Rosiers with all of it’s local boutiques and kosher restaurants then head into the most beautiful square in Paris, the Place des Vosges where the red brick and green trees will show a different side of Paris.

This tour is an excellent tour in and of itself but also a wonderful complement to our Best of Paris Bike Tour which will already have introduced you to the main monuments of Paris and some of the most important historical facts. For the Paris Bike Tour: the Secrets , you will meet with your guide in the heart of the Latin Quarter, at Place Saint-Michel in front of the Saint-Michel Fountain .

The Fountain Saint-Michel can easily be reached by metro line 4 (stop "SAINT-MICHEL" ) and the RER lines B & C (stop "SAINT-MICHEL – NOTRE-DAME" ).

More than just a bookstore, it's almost a shrine to the written word and those who write it. Its walls are overflowing with literature of all sorts, and some authors even sleep there!

The Pantheon

Originally built as a massive basilica, the Pantheon was taken over during the French Revolution and rededicated to the Great Men of France.

Roman arena

Hidden away on the left bank this arena was the stage for countless human and animal battles during the roman occupation of France and it’s almost 2,000 years old!

Ancient city wall of Paris

Built 800 years ago to keep Richard the Lionheart out of Paris, this massive wall protected the city for more than 2 centuries until becoming obsolete as Paris grew larger.

Mouffetard village

Rue Mouffetard is one of Paris' oldest and liveliest neighborhoods with cafés and bistros of all kinds and a famous market as well. We’ll stop here for the 30 minute lunch break.

Place des Vosges

Originally known as Place Royale this square is in the Marais district. Its red brick stands out among the other beige parisian buildings and is full of charm.

Wall of the Righteous

This wall bears the names of over 3,900 people who risked their lives to save Jews in France during the Second World War

Yes, we’ve got 2 different smaller sized bikes for kids and adults who are too short to use our Blue Bikes™.

We have baby seats for kids that are between the ages of 1 and 3 years old (max weight 22 kg (48 lbs)).

We also have some cool Burley tandem attachment bikes that are suitable for little kids who are too big for the baby seat but too small to cycle on their own (max weight 38 kg (85 lbs) - max height 137 cm (4 ft 6 in)).

We do NOT have tandem bikes that are suitable for two adults. All adults who join our tour must know how to cycle on their own with confidence. Please do not book this tour if an adult in your party is unable to cycle. We do not have any way to include them in this tour.

I - Cancellation Policy

BFT offers a 100% refund if a reservation is cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the tour. The notification must be made by email. No refunds are given for ANY reason once within the 24 hrs prior to the scheduled tour. All of our tours run Rain or Shine. We do not issue refunds if you choose to skip your tour because the weather doesn’t suit you. You can always wait until the last minute to book your tour to ensure the weather suits you that day. BFT reserves the right to cancel any of its tours last minute in case of an Act of God or crazy act from a large group of people. Flooding, hail, dangerous weather conditions, riots, etc. In such instances full refunds will be given to anyone who had their tour cancelled.

II - Satisfaction Guarantee Policy

If the tour you took with us didn’t live up to what we promised you on our website and failed to meet your expectations, we will be heartbroken. We will also give you a 100% refund so long as you do all of these things: You remember that we we are in no way responsible for the weather and that our guides actually have to give 110% of themselves to you on days when the weather is not as nice in order to help you enjoy the tour. You participate in the entire tour from: being on time at the meeting point until the “goodbyes” at the very end of the tour. You can’t leave a tour half-way and ask for your money back. At the end of the tour you tell your guide, in person, that you were not satisfied with the tour you took. You provide your tour guide with the reasons you were not satisfied with the tour itself.

III - Payment Policy

A valid credit card is required to secure your booking. All reservations must be prepaid online prior to the tour. We accept Visa, Mastercard. None of your personal credit card or billing information is stored by BFT.

IV - Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal informations will never be disclosed to any third parties.

V - Child Policy

All reservations made for children under the age of 18 years old must be made by an adult and we must be informed at the time of booking exactly how many children are in your party and their ages. This is vital information as it allows our guide to prepare the proper child sized equipments for the bike tours and the booster seats for all day trips/excursions that use one of our vans. All reservations made for a minor under the age of 18 years old must also include the reservation for an adult who will be 100% solely responsible for the safety and well being of the child while on the tour. Every child, under the age of 12 years old, partaking in a bicycle tour will be required to wear a helmet and a reflective vest as per French Law. The adult who accompanies the child agrees to the responsibility of choosing a properly sized helmet, adjusting the helmet, and keeping the helmet on the head of the child during the whole tour. Blue Fox Travel has helmets in multiple sizes for you to choose from at no cost. Don't forget: Children who will be riding in a baby/child seat, on a tandem attachment bike, or in a booster seat in one of our vans absolutely MUST have their seat reserved beforehand. We NEED to know exactly what your child will need before they show up. Please make it clear in the “Special Requirements” section of our booking form.

VI- Child Bike Policy

Children who will be riding on their own may be subject to a very short test run before the tour starts in which they will be expected to demonstrate: that they are well suited for their bike’s size and settings, that they know how to brake properly and that they are, in general, good cyclists who can be trusted to follow their tour guide in a safe manner. We own 20” and 24” kids bikes (size of the wheel). Adult bikes are 26”. If the guide, or manager, finds that the child is not, for any reason, a good enough cyclist then the guide, or manager, has the right to refuse to let the child follow the tour on a personal bike. This means they will either be asked to ride on one of our ‘tandem attachments’ which is attached to the back of a parents bike OR asked to ride in a child seat attached to the back of a parents bike. If the child refuses the change, then the guide or manager has the right to cancel the reservation, and not allow you and your child on the bike tour. Refunds will not be issued if your reservation is cancelled because of your child not being able to cycle and their refusal to ride attached to you. Baby seats are for kids that are between the ages of 1 and 3 years old (max weight 22 kg (48 lbs)). We also have some cool Burley™ tandem attachment bikes that are suitable for little kids who are too big for the baby seat but too small to cycle on their own (max weight 38 kg (85 lbs) - max height 137 cm (4 ft 6 in)).

Meeting Point

Your tour meets directly at our office, located at  24 rue Edgar Faure, 75015 .  The closest metro station is Dupleix (line 6).  The station La Motte Picquet Grenelle (lines 6, 8 & 10) is also quite close and provides more connection possibilities.

Our office is easy to spot from the street – you will see ‘Bike Tours’ & ‘Segway Tours’ signs in our windows.  If you are following an online map, be aware that there is also an apartment building with the same street address as our office.  If you end up there, simply walk up and around the corner against the direction of traffic (it’s a one-way street) and you’ll see our office in about 30 seconds.

Is a helmet included?

In France, adults are not obliged to wear a helmet, however they are mandatory for children under 12. We have helmets of all sizes available in our office, free of charge.

What level of cycling do I need for this tour?

What is the cost of the tour/why does the price change?

We have based our pricing on availability and the tour date booking window.  If you have greater flexibility with your travel dates, we encourage you to click around to a few different dates/times to see when we have the most availability as this will guarantee the lowest price.  Should you wish to book last minute or for a day with limited availability, the price may be higher.  This allows us to accommodate all guests, especially during the high season.

Can we buy water at your office?

Yes! We have cold water in our office, and all of our bikes come equipped with luggage racks so that you can take it with you on tour.

Can I leave the tour early?

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate special requests like this on our public tours.  Once the tour begins we ask that you stay with the guide and the group until the end.  If you’re interested in something shorter, please inquire about a private tour.

What is your cancellation policy?

We’re happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour* Failure to cancel a reservation  at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure  may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply.

Our e-bike tour meets in Central Paris at the Place Vendôme, at the granite block labeled "ACCESS LOUVRE" which is in front of the jewelry shop "Chaumet". Find your guide with an e-bike 5min before the scheduled departure time, in front of the granite block.

What if it rains or if it is cold ?

Paris Charms & Secrets tour runs rain or shine. Best is to dress according to the weather. In case of cold weather, we have a few pairs of gloves that we can lend you. In case of rain, Paris is still charming in the rain and our e-bikes have no problem handling a few puddles! We will provide you with a rain poncho (especially designed for our bikes) that will allow you to enjoy the tour without getting wet!

How many people are in a group ?

All of our Paris bike tours are limited to about 12 cyclists to ensure safety and higher quality time with your guide.

How long does the tour last ? Can I stop before the end ?

The morning and the afternoon tours last approximately 4 hours .

The night tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours.

It is impossible for one of the participants to stop before the end as we cannot leave the bike in the street and we cannot carry them. If you are interested in a shorter tour, please do not hesitate to contact us and ask for a private tour.

What if I do not know how to ride a bike ?

In order to participate in one of our tours, you must be able to ride a bike with confidence. Please note that refunds will not be given for those who cannot ride a bike.

Do I need to be fit ?

Riding an e-bike is easy and fun no matter how fit you are. Old, young, round, or thin, we all ride at the same speed through Paris and we will be able to see and cover a lot of ground.

Do I need to wear a helmet ?

French law does not require a cyclist to wear a helmet. We strongy recommend that any child wears a helmet. Paris Charms & Secrets provides multiple sized helmets for any rider who would like to wear one.

Does my guide speak english ?

Yes, of course we do! Everyone at Paris Charms & Secrets speaks at least English and French. Some of our guides also speak Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Japanase, Portuguese, Chinese, ... Please do not hesitate to ask if you are willing to take a tour in one of those languages.

Are reservations required ?

Reservations are required for all our tours.

Are children welcomed ? What is the required height ?

Anybody who is taller than 1.45m (4 feet 7 inches) and who is comfortable and knows how to ride a bicycle is welcome.

As for children smaller than 1.50m (4 feet 11 inches) and lighter than 35 kilos (80 pounds), we can provide you with a child seat (for 12€).

What is the best way to get to the meeting point ?

The Paris metro system is safe, inexpensive and by far the best way to ensure you will be at the meeting point on time. We strongly suggest you avoid taking taxis as they are very expensive in Paris and that the traffic in Paris is both slow and unpredictable.

You should stop at: Opera or Tuileries -If you are coming from Opera station (Line 3, 7 and 8): Take the exit 2 (Sortie2: r. de la Paix). When you go out from the metro, there is the Opera house in front of you but DO NOT look at it. Put the Opera house on your back, then you will see a huge column in bronze on your right. That's the Place Vendome so take the street "Rue de la Paix" and keep to the left side of the road. When you arrive at the Place Vendôme, the jewelry shop "Chaumet" is on your left side (diagonally opposite side of Hotel Ritz).

-If you are coming from Tuileries station  (Line 1):

There is only one exit of metro. When you go out from the metro, there is a big garden (Tuileries garden) on your right. Go straight in the direction of the traffic and turn to the right at the 3rd street (Rue de Castiglione, keep to the right side of the road). Then you will see a huge column in bronze in front of you and that's the Place Vendôme. When you arrive at the Place Vendome, the jewelry shop "Chaumet" is on your right side (diagonally opposite side of Hotel Ritz).

How far ahead do I need to book a tour ?

Groups fill up very quickly so we recommend that you book well in advance for all of our tours. If you have a party of 4 or more then we recommend that you book at least 2 weeks in advance in order to have your first choice of tour dates and times.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that unexpected things can change your plans. Paris Charms & Secrets offers a full refund if you cancel more than 72 hours in advance before your scheduled tour.

No refunds are given for any reasons once within 72 hours prior to the start of your scheduled tour.

Please also note that our meeting times are absolute and that if you are late and miss the Meeting Time on your reservation we might not be there waiting for you. Therefore it is very important that you arrive on time if you intend to take our tour!

How can I pay ? Do you accept credit cards ?

You can pay cash, in euros (€), at the end of the visit, directly to your guide.

We also accept Visa and Mastercard but please let us know in advance, before you take the tour.

Can I store my luggages in your office?

You may store small bags in a locked room before we take the bikes, please tell us before hand to make sure :)

These are the Terms and Conditions that apply to any tour run by PARIS CHARMS & SECRETS SARL in France. In this document, PARIS CHARMS & SECRETS might be abbreviated as PCS.

Taking part of a PARIS CHARMS & SECRETS tour, or booking a PARIS CHARMS & SECRETS tour implies full acceptance of the following terms and conditions.

PARIS CHARMS & SECRETS is a registered SARL (Société à Responsabilité Limitée) at the Paris Chamber of Commerce under the number : RCS PARIS 390 322 328. The social headquarters are based at 106, rue Vieille du Temple - 75003 PARIS.

Because PARIS CHARMS & SECRETS is a registered French company and all of our tours are taking place in France, only the French Law will apply in case of conflict.

Confidentiality

Paris Charms & Secrets has provided years of research to build this tour. The following clause is in respect for all the work, the agreements made with the visited locations, and all the historians Paris Charms & Secrets has worked with. It is forbidden to use, record or repreduce by any means Paris Charms & Secrets tour in whole or in part without Paris Charms & Secrets' prior written consent. Any commercial, professionnal, promotionnal or other use of Paris Charms & Secrets tour's content in whole or in part is purely and simply prohibited.   This includes the anecdotes told by the guide, the route and the locations. Also, at the guide's request, taking pictures can be forbidden.

Cancellation policy

Tours run Rain or Shine. Paris Charms & Secrets reserves the right to cancel any of its tours in case of an Act of God. In such instances full refunds will be given to anyone who was not able to take their tour.

Paris Charms & Secrets offers a 100% refund if a reservation is cancelled more than 72 hours before the scheduled start of the tour. No refunds are given for ANY reason once within the 72 hrs prior to the scheduled tour.

Please note this is a bicycle tour and that no refunds will be given for those who cannot ride a bike.

Payment policy

A valid credit card is required to secure your booking. We accept Visa and Mastercard. None of your personal credit card and billing informations will be retained by Paris Charms & Secrets.

Child policy

All reservations made for children under the age of 18 years old must be made by an adult.

All reservations made for a child under the age of 18 years old must also include the reservation for an adult who will be 100% solely responsible for the safety and well being of the child while on any Paris Charms & Secrets.

We strongly recommend any child wears a helmet.

The adult who accompanies the child(ren) agrees to the responsibility of choosing (a) properly sized helmet(s), adjusting the helmet(s), and keeping the helmet(s) on head(s) of the child(ren). Paris Charms & Secrets has helmets in multiple sizes for you to choose from.

Don't forget: Children who will be riding in a child or baby seat attached to their parents bike MUST have had their seat reserved before hand! And if the seat has not been reserved, it will be according to our availability, according to the size and the weight of the chlid.

Damages to Paris Charms & Secrets Property

If you or anyone in your party damages or looses one of our e-bikes, a helmet, a child seat, a lock or any attachments, in such a way that it becomes badly disfigured, broken, or unusable, then Paris Charms & Secrets reserves the right to claim a fee of up to the price of the damaged or lost e-bike, helmet, child seat, lock and any attachments.

Miscellaneous

You and everyone in your party may be subject to a very short trial demonstration before the tour starts in which they will be expected to demonstrate: that they are well suited for the bike size and settings, that they know how to brake properly and that they are, in general, a good cyclist who can be trusted to follow their Paris Charms & Secrets Guide.

If the Paris Charms & Secrets guide finds that you or anyone in your party is not, for any reason, a good cyclist then the guide, or manager, has the right to refuse to let you or anyone in your party follow the tour. Please note that we suppose that anyone that books a bicycle tour knows how to ride a bike and therefore no refund will be accorded for anyone not being able to ride a bike.

You and everyone in your party will be kind and respectful to your guide.

You and everyone in your party will do their best to follow the safety instructions given orally by the guide before the start of the tour. You agree that everyone in your party including yourself will do their best to follow the verbal directions, hand signals, and the physical example of your Guide during the whole tour and always look both ways when crossing a street.

You and everyone in your party will fully respect the rules of the French traffic. You will be solely responsible if you are caught by an authority breaking any rules or law.

You and everyone else in your party agree that any accident which occurs while your party is on a Paris Charms & Secrets Tour, which injures or harms you or anyone in your party ( in any way, including physically, emotionally, or mentally) is not in any way the responsibility of Paris Charms & Secrets.

You accept all responsibility for any accidents that you or anyone else in your party might experience while on a Paris Charms & Secrets Tour.

Paris Charms & Secrets is not to be held responsible for any loss or damage to any personal belongings. You are responsible for all of your belongings.
