Our Red frame features a modern 2” wide flat profile in a warm red stain with wood undertones.

We will set up your board to hang horizontally OR vertically - PLEASE MAKE THAT SELECTION ABOVE . Not a option on the square sizes, dry erase calendars and the cork board maps.

HORIZONTAL is the longer side going left to right.

VERTICAL is the longer side going up and down.

As all our boards are built from scratch - please allow about 3 weeks for your board to ship . Custom boards or larger quantity orders may take longer. All boards ship extremely well packaged from our workshop in Northwest CT and ship by Fedex Ground. When your board ships we will send you tracking info by email or text.

Our maps are available to purchase in different designs and have different locations. Choose from looking at all the countries to looking at just Europe, or maybe you just want to look at the UK!

How many pins are included?

100 pins are included with our Splosh Travel Maps, 50 silver and 50 gold. Use the different coloured pins to mark your past travels and to pin your future adventures!

How many sizes do you have?

The different sizes to choose from are:

Unwanted Smoke:

Is your flame dancing? When a flame flickers too much; it can produce unwanted smoke which can be caused by a wick that's too long or a breeze.

To ensure a clean burn, extinguish your candle using one of our candle snuffers, trim the wick to 3mm using our wick trimmers and finally make sure it isn’t in direct line of any air currents – then simply relight and enjoy. You can find these everyday candle care products online and in store.

Tunnelling & Candle Memory: 

To prevent tunnelling and memory rings; the first burn of your candle is the most important! To ensure you get an even and clean burn throughout your candle’s life - burn your candle for 30 minutes for every 1cm in diameter, so for example a large jar is approximately 8cm in diameter, so we would recommend to burn it for at least 4 hours to ensure the first layer of wax melts to the edge of the candle before you extinguish it.

When to Stop Burning:

When there is approximately 1cm of wax remaining at the bottom of your jar candle, we recommend this is where you should discontinue its use as the flame nears the base of the glass it can get very hot – by doing this you will avoid possible heat damage that can be caused to surfaces or the container.

18 new projects are slated to begin work this year

The Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH) released its  2024 highway construction project map today. The interactive map, created by the Cook County Bureau of Technology's Geographic Information Systems Division, includes all construction projects underway or scheduled to begin this year. Projects that preserve, modernize and expand the County's transportation system are featured on the map.

"During the County's construction season, it's vital to provide our residents with information and updates that will help them travel safely and efficiently throughout our community," said Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle. "We're pleased to offer this convenient platform that will help residents understand when and where construction projects are underway so they can plan for potential slowdowns or consider alternate routes." 

There are 41 projects on the mobile-friendly map. Three new projects will break ground this spring, 23 projects are continuing work from previous years and DoTH anticipates starting 15 additional projects later this year. Information shown for each construction project includes an expected start date, overview, benefits and scope. DoTH will add projects as construction begins and the public is encouraged to visit the site regularly throughout construction season for updates.

“The 2024 construction schedule include roadway reconstruction and resurfacing, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, traffic signal modernization and replacement, drainage improvements and large-scale projects,” said DoTH Superintendent Jennifer “Sis” Killen. “Our department’s activities will benefit over 20 municipalities across the County this year.”

In addition to the 2024 highway construction project map, DoTH has also partnered with the Villages of Skokie, Stickney and Forest View on websites for major projects along  Old Orchard Road (Woods Dr. to Skokie Blvd.) and  Central Ave. Bridge (I-55 to Pershing Road) . The sites include overall project information and details about the current stage of construction. Both projects are anticipated to last for multiple construction seasons, with completion targeted for 2025.
