Trey Anastasio Announces 2023 Fall Tour With Classic TAB

Trey Anastasio has announced a 2023 fall tour with  Classic TAB , the stripped-down version of his solo outfit featuring drummer  Russ Lawton , keyboardist  Ray Paczkowski , and bassist  Dezron Douglas .

The fall 2023 Classic TAB tour will begin on Sunday, September 10th with a headlining slot at All IN Music Festival in Indianapolis, IN. From there, Anastasio, Lawton, Paczkowski, and Douglass will travel north of the U.S. border for an appearance at  Harvest Music Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada on Wednesday, September 13th.

Next, Trey Anastasio and Classic TAB will head to Hampton Beach, NH for a show at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on Thursday, September 13th, followed by a top-billed slot at  Borderland Music + Arts Festival in East Aurora, NY on Saturday, September 16th. The tour will move along from there with hard-ticket shows in Harrisburg, PA (9/17), Richmond, VA (9/18), and Athens, GA (9/20, 9/21) before wrapping up in Lewisburg, WV for the newly announced  Healing Appalachia festival, taking place from September 21st–23rd.

Trey Anastasio Adds New Classic TAB Dates to Fall Tour

Renowned guitarist Trey Anastasio is set to hit the road this September with his band, Classic TAB. Today the group–comprised of Dezron Douglas, Russ Lawton, and Ray Paczkowski–confirmed four more exciting live performances on their fall tour across North America.

Anastasio and Classic TAB’s tour will kick off on Sept. 9 and 10th at the All In Music Festival in Indianapolis, Ind. Continuing their journey, the band will make a stop at the Harvest Music Festival in Fredericton, Neb., on Sept. 13, then take the stage at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, N.H., the following day. Festival appearances will continue with Borderland Music + Arts Festival in East Aurora, N.Y., on Sept 16, before they head to Harrisburg, Pa.’s Harrisburg University at Riverfront Park on Sept. 17.

The ensemble will continue their journey by heading south to Richmond, Va.’s The National on Sept. 18, then The Georgia Theatre in Athens, Ga. on Sept. 20 and 21. In addition to the tour dates mentioned, Anastasio will perform at the Healing Appalachia festival in Lewisburg, W. Va., which will take place from Sept. 21 to 23. This festival focuses on celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Appalachia while highlighting the need for environmental preservation and social justice. The newly added dates include the shows in Indianapolis, Fredericton, East Aurora and Lewisburg.

Tab Benoit Kicks Off Winter Spring 2023 Tour

Renowned Louisiana Bayou blues guitarist Tab Benoit kicks off his Winter/Spring 2023 Tour at the House of Blues in Cleveland, OH on Friday February 17th.

Opening for Benoit, is the Grammy nominated blues-rock guitarist, singer, songwriter JD Simo who has collaborated with Jack White, Tommy Emmanuel, Luther Dickinson, Dave Cobb, Blackberry Smoke. He has also been a member of Grateful Dead founder Phil Lesh’s “Phil & Friends”. Simo’s latest album Songs From The House Of Grease was released in 2023.

Tab Benoit is renowned throughout his thirty-plus-year career for his passionate environmental activism. To that end, he performed two nights in his hometown of Houma, Louisiana at the 16th Annual Voice of the Wetlands Festival. He also appears prominently in the IMax motion picture Hurricane on the Bayou, a documentary of Hurricane Katrina’s effects and a call to protect and restore the Wetlands, and produced a CD to help restore that state’s Coastal Wetlands. Benoit was inducted into the Louisiana Folklife Center Hall of Master Folk Artists in 2020. Benoit is one of the featured musicians in the Sony Picture Classics 2022 movie JazzFest: A New Orleans Story, Frank Marshall & Ryan Suffern’s documentary on the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

He doesn’t rely on any effects and his setup is simple. It consists of a guitar, chord, and Category 5 Amplifier. The effects that you hear come from his fingers.

Fantastic show! I have seen Tab twice before at the Big Blues Bender in Las Vegas but he seemed to have a little extra in his performance tonight. Tab seemed to really enjoy playing in a cave and he was genuinely surprised when he saw how many hands were raised of those in the audience who were seeing him for the first time. It was well more than half the sold-out crowd. JP Soars was a very good opening act for Tab. Sure hope Tab gets booked again at Cumberland Caverns.

One more amazing Tab Benoit Show to add to the other Tab Benoit Shows we've seen, and walked away from with another remarkable Memory of his incredible Talent as a Guitar Shreddin, Singer, Song writer, Producer, Musician, with a Bad $#@ Bass Player, and Rock Solid Drummer, that winds up the Three hour show, after watching Tab play Drums for 1 1/2 hours backing up Eric Johanson Screamin Guitar Licks, with Corey Stompin the Bass Guitar for the Three Hour Show !!!!

A Must See Event, over and over again and again !!!

About Tab Benoit

One of the most impressive guitarists to emerge from the rich Bayous of Southern Louisiana in recent years, Tab Benoit’s guitar tone can be recognized before his Otis-Redding-ish voice resonates from the speakers. He doesn’t rely on any effects and his set up is simple. It consists of a guitar, cord, and Category 5 Amplifier. The effects that you hear come from his fingers.

Born on November 17, 1967, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Benoit grew up in the nearby oil and fishing town of Houma, where he still resides today. Musically, he was exposed early on to traditional Cajun waltzes and the country music broadcast on his hometown’s only radio station. Benoit’s father was himself a musician; as such, the family home was filled with various instruments. He began playing drums but switched to guitar because the only gigs to be had in rural Louisiana were held in churches and at church fairs, and organizers would not allow loud drums to be played at these events.
