Shares new single  “Back To Life”  featuring Panama Out now via Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records European DJ sets in Lisbon, Barcelona and Ibiza this summer   New US dates added to Poolside’s largest tour to date

Following the announcement of signing with Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records and release of  “Each Night” featuring Mazy”,   Poolside,  the recording project of Los Angeles-based producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist  Jeffrey Paradise,  returns with a new single “ Back To Lif e ” featuring long time collaborator Panama. Poolside has also announced new US dates, the largest tour of their career, and is set to play a run of European and US festivals this summer.  

What a remarkably refreshing single. Delicate harmonies join the deep grooves and rhythmic pushes and in turn, this summer-inspired atmosphere just consumes the audience. This upbeat attitude emits from this arrangement and not only becomes the ultimate hook for the track but moves the listener, alters their mood and creates this enveloping orchestration.

“Back To Life”  finds Poolside–the recording project of Los Angeles-based producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Paradise—teaming again with fellow artist Panama.  Known for their previous releases  “Kinda Lovely”  and  “Can’t Stop Your Lovin’”  (the latter which appeared on Poolside’s Low Season album),  “Back To Life”  finds a special connection between these two kindred musical spirits which came out of the pandemic and ‘back to life.’

“They say good things come in threes, which is why I’m very excited to share ‘Back To Life’, my latest collaboration with Panama. ‘Back To Life’ dates back to early 2021. The pandemic was in full swing and I spent all of the lockdown working on music and growing my production chops at home, ” shares Poolside.   “Then one day Alex Kemp at Wolf at the Door studios – who worked on Low Season with me – told me it was safe to come by the studio, and we immediately got to work on this track with Panama. It didn’t make a difference that Jarrah aka Panama wasn’t in the room with us because we’d always worked remotely, what with him being in Australia and all.”   He adds,  “We tapped into groovy light rock meets funk energy and channeled our collective feeling of yearning for connection and a return to normalcy in the lyrics. The production is slicker and helps to tell that story, building into a classic Poolside 303 moment and cathartic crescendo.  The bones of this song were completed in 2021 or so, and we passed it back and forth between Los Angeles and Australia for over a year making sure it was perfect. Part of me wanted it to come out as soon as possible as things were opening up, but I’m glad we waited. Not only did it take a lot longer than anyone expected for us to come “back to life” – has that even happened, really? – but the song benefitted from the added time and care. I think you’ll feel the same way. Thanks as always for listening, can’t wait to share more music with you this year!”

Meanwhile, Poolside follows up their successful run of spring festivals in Mexico – which included appearances at Vaivén and Corona Capital Guadalajara – with a new round of live dates for the seven-piece band in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tulsa, Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Wilmington, NC, Charleston and Houston alongside many high-profile festival plays including Lollapalooza, Osheaga, Outside Lands, FORMAT Festival and Austin City Limits.  He’ll also be joining Carly Rae Jepsen for DJ sets to support her NYC shows this summer.   Poolside is also set to DJ in Europe this summer at LISB-ON Festival, Lisbon where he will be third to close before Hot Chip and Jungle who are both Dj-ing, Club Nitsa in Barcelona, where Hudson Mohawke, UNIIQU3, TEED, Ben UFO have all played recently and Pikes Hotel, Ibiza where The Blessed Madonna, Confidence Man and Leon Vynehall have also all recently performed. 

Joining Poolside’s Jeffrey Paradise– who can be found on guitar / vocals / synths in the live sets–is Vito Roccoforte (The Rapture / Body Music) on drums, Brijean Murphy (Brijean / Toro Y Moi / U.S. Girls) on percussion / vocals, Mattie Safer (The Rapture / Lovetempo) on bass / vocals, Grant Zubritsky (Mitski / Chet Faker) on keys / vocals, Casey Butler (Pharaohs) on saxophone / lap steel / percussion / vocals and Alton San Giovanni (Alton Allen) – guitar / vocals.  Collectively these shows with more to be announced build towards Poolside’s largest career tour to date.

Aaron Lewis to Bring 2023 Acoustic Tour 'Poolside' at Red Rock Resort

Multi-platinum certified country superstar Aaron Lewis is bringing his highly-anticipated 2023 acoustic tour to the Sandbar Stage at Red Rock Resort Sunday, May 14, 2023 at 8 p.m. Located poolside at Red Rock Resort, the Sandbar poolside stage is the perfect destination for a concert experience under the stars. Tickets start at $60 plus taxes and fees and go on sale Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 at 10 a.m.

Aaron Lewis grew up in Springfield, Vermont, listening to his grandparents' country 8-tracks. Those roots inspired the multi-platinum Staind founder to return to his origins for the #1 Billboard Country Album debut Town Line and Sinner, as well as Billboard's #1 Hot Country Song debut "Am I The Only One," only the 9th time since 1958.

Having recorded with George Jones, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Alison Krauss and Vince Gill, Lewis has put a traditionalist brand on his outlier country. The final PGA Tour event before the 2024 Masters is on tap this week with the 2024 Valero Texas Open set to tee off on Thursday at the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. The 2024 Texas Open field will be star studded, with several players making their final preparations for next week's major championship at Augusta National Golf Club. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy enters the tournament as the 15-2 betting favorite in the latest 2024 Valero Texas Open odds. Other top contenders on the PGA odds board include Ludvig Åberg (12-1), Hideki Matsuyama (18-1), Max Homa (18-1), Jordan Spieth (18-1), Collin Morikawa (20-1), Corey Conners (22-1), and Matt Fitzpatrick (25-1). The total 2024 Valero Texas Open purse is $9.2 million, with the winner's share coming in at $1.66 million. The winner of this event will also earn 500 FedEx Cup points. 

With several big-name players in the field, would this be a good week to back a long shot like Rickie Fowler (60-1)? Or should you back one of the favorites when making your One and Done picks? The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors, signature events, and big money tournaments critical.

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his  golf picks .

McClure has been on fire with his One and Done picks in 2024. At The American Express he backed Justin Thomas, who finished in third place and took home $635,600. At the Genesis Invitational, McClure tabbed Patrick Cantlay, who finished in fourth place at the signature event, as his top OAD pick. At the Cognizant Classic, McClure's top one and done pick, Min Woo Lee, finished in a tie for second place. Finally, at the Arnold Palmer Invitation, another signature event, McClure recommended using Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris. The Result: Scheffler won the event by five strokes, and Zalatoris finished in fourth place.

His hot steak continued at the Players Championship, where McClure again recommended using Scheffler (if was still available) and Xander Schauffele. Both players were in contention until the end, with Scheffler coming out with the win and Schauffele finishing in second place. Then, at the Valspar Championship, McClure recommended using Cameron Young, who finished in second place, in OAD pools.

The 32-year-old PGA Tour veteran has gotten off a great start in 2024, notching an outright win at The Genesis Invitational followed by a 12th place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a sixth place finish at The Players Championship. Matsuyama enters the week with nine career PGA Tour wins, including his triumph at the 2021 Masters. 

The 32-year-old has climbed to No. 14 in the Official World Golf Ranking and is a threat to win any tournament he enters. Matsuyama enters this week ranked first on the PGA Tour in strokes gained around the green (0.674), fourth in strokes gained tee-to-green (1.360), and 15th in total strokes gained (0.981). Drowning Pool is an American heavy metal band from Dallas, Texas in the US. Named after the 1975 film of the same name, the band was part of the wave of nu-metal which began in the late 90s/early 2000s.

The band was formed in 1996 by guitarist C. J. Pierce and drummer Mike Luce, who were later joined by bassist Stevie Benton. Citing a range of influences on their music, including Metallica, Anthrax, Slipknot, Alice in Chains, SOil, AC/DC and Pantera, Drowning Pool performed as an instrumental trio until 1999 when they recruited vocalist Dave Williams. The band quickly found fame after playing with Ozzy Osbourne during Ozzfest and released their debut album “Sinner” in June 2001, which features the band’s most well-known song, “Bodies”.

The album went platinum within an astonishing six weeks, however their fortune took a retrograde turn when singer Williams was found dead inside his tour bus. He sadly died from a heart condition which had been undiagnosed until after his death. The band decided to continue after William’s death and recruited Jason Jones in 2003. The vocalist recorded just one album “Desensitized” (2004) then subsequently left the band in 2005, due to “musical differences”.

In 2005, Ryan McCombs, formerly of metal band SOil was announced as Drowning Pool’s new vocalist. The band had originally wanted him to replace Dave Williams. Their third album, “Full Circle” was released in August 2007, after signing a new record deal with Eleven Seven Music and changing to a new management company. They toured with Sick Puppies and Seether in support of the album. A self-titled fourth album was also released in April 2010. Unfortunately, McCombs announced that he was leaving the band to rejoin his previous band SOil for a tour and new album, again leaving Drowning Pool without a singer.

Undeterred, the band continued writing for their fifth album and began auditioning for a new vocalist. Current vocalist Jasen Moreno, from The Suicide Hook, joined the band in 2012 and made his debut in 2013 on “Resilience” – an apt title for a band that has battled through misfortune and remained together despite it all. On the 10th anniversary of Dave Williams’ death, the band released a song in tribute of him titled “In Memory Of…”, the first to feature Moreno’s vocals.

Live reviews

I became a fan of Drowning Pool because a friend of mine suggested them to me for a playlist I was putting together to hype me up for a martial arts tournament. I typically find it hard to listen to it for a long period of time because it starts to overlap and become tedious. Drowning Pool had somehow become the exception because I found myself listening to their “Sinner” album on repeat, even when I didn’t have a martial arts tournament. However, I don’t quite remember how I ended up going to one of their live shows.

Because metal is not exactly my normal type of music, it was a little awkward for me being there; that is, until they started to play. Unfortunately by the time I saw them, the original singer Dave Williams had passed away, and was replaced by Jasen Moreno. While it was not exactly the same as the album that I knew and loved, Jasen did such a good job on vocals. It helps that they have so much raw energy! The entire crowd started to push forward and then eventually, as expected, a mosh started up. I did not participate, but it was really great to be hearing all that raw energy live.

In a weird way, the show was almost relaxing because it was a sort of release. You left the show completely deaf and half beaten up by getting caught by part of the mosh, and completely loved every moment of the show.

The Drowning Pool show @ Fitzgerald's on the 26th of Feb was excelente! The band was totally rockin with the crowd. The set was very impressive with some of their new music. The guys never disappoint!

Awful venue, acoustics were absolutely terrible the whole night. Left before the show was over. Will not attend this venue again, and frankly - the band was not worth the torture.
