The cabin's were absolutely fantastic. Clean and smelt wonderful

main beach tourist park southport

Location wonderful. Close to family and beach Facility clean and tidy and not too noisey.

The location was great, close to the beach and a nice park. On a bus route to Surfers Paradise although, you could walk there if you wanted to. There was a lovely small shopping centre near the Holiday Park which had nice coffee shops and within walking distance. The Office Staff were welcoming, friendly, and obliging. We would stay there again.

The cabin was well equipped and comfortable with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. It had a dining table and couches to relax and watch TV. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The cabin was very well equipped with air conditioning; it was quite hot in February. There were two airconditioners, one in the living area and another in the main bedroom. There were also ceiling fans in all rooms. It was nice to arrive to a cool cabin as the aircond had been left on. Lovely covered pool for a dip to keep cool. I'm going to stay here again next year.

Good location and facilities. Our cabin was spacious and had mostly everything we need. Excellent and helpful staff. We would definitely recommend it.

Enjoyed our stay but they double charged our credit card and it’s been 5 weeks and still haven’t seen our refund. Shouldn’t have to keep chasing them up

most comfortable bed we have ever slept in anywhere in any accommadation, loved having a bbq on our porch and parking was good even though we have larger vehicle and trailer

The tourist park was very clean, the bed was very comfortable which means a lot when travelling and the staff were super friendly Would definitely go back

Great location. Close to everything but still out of the hustle and bustle. Great cabin.

We loved everything about this place! The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and I with our 8 month old. Can’t wait to come back in the future to stay in a cabin again or to try out the caravan park! Cannot complain about a thing! Can’t believe we haven’t stay here before! Such a gem of a place away from surfers!

Gold Coast caravan & holiday parks – Main Beach Tourist Park review

  • Cabin Parks , Camping , Caravan Parks , Family holidays & travel , Feature , Gold Coast , Queensland , Surfers Paradise

This beautiful holiday park offering caravan sites and holiday villas is across from one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia – and it’s just down the road from Surfers Paradise!

Main Beach Tourist Park

A Gold Coast Tourist Park, Main Beach Tourist Park has so much going for it.

The location is perfect – five minute’s drive away from Surfers Paradise, Sea World, and just across the road lies one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Main Beach is directly across the road from the holiday park

Main Beach is directly across the road from the holiday park

Main Beach stretches for miles, right up to Surfers Paradise Beach in one direction, and seemingly to wild, uninhabited beach in the other, right along the Spit Peninsular. As if that wasn’t enough, this cabin and caravan park itself is beautiful.

The surrounding Gold Coast tower blocks let you know that you are in one of the most in-demand areas in Australia. This prime real-estate is the last place you’d expect to find a beautiful holiday park. Yet here you can stay in a luxurious villa cabin or bring your own motorhome or caravan.

A resort swimming pool, games room and playground

Main Beach Tourist Park is packed full of features for a great family holiday.

There’s a beautiful resort swimming pool protected from the sun by shade sails and surrounded by pool lounges. This makes it a great place to pass a lazy afternoon.

A fun kid’s playground and barbeque camp kitchen are also located just outside of the pool area.

Main Beach

Main Beach is north of Surfers Paradise and feeds into The Spit. Beach goers can enjoy long expansive stretches of sand and space with a great view south to the city skyline.

Main Beach has 2 patrolled lifeguard towers:

  • Breaker Street, Main Beach Patrolled by lifeguards between 8am and 5pm, every day all year round
  • Macarthur Parade at Southport Surf Life Saving Club Patrolled by lifeguards between 8am and 5pm, every day all year round

Make sure you swim in the patrolled area between the red and yellow flags.

Beach breaks extend the full length of the beach. Wave quality at beach breaks along this stretch can be highly variable depending on prevailing swell direction, wind, tide and sand bar formation. Surfers should always assess conditions and if in doubt, don’t paddle out. For more information, visit our Surfing page .

To view the facilities available at this beach including accessibility features, use our interactive map .

Getting there

About main beach.

The name Main Beach is descriptive since it was the main surf beach for the town of Southport and the earliest surveyed town in the immediate area.

To the south are the high-rise buildings of Surfers Paradise and to the north are the natural areas of The Spit. Visit Southport's closest surf beach or explore the cafés, fine dining and boutiques that line Tedder Avenue.

Main Beach has parklands that contain toilets, barbecues, tables, shade structures, playgrounds and beach showers. There is oceanway along some sections of Main Beach, while other parts are fronted by private homes and apartments.
