Francis L., California

My husband surprised me and our son with a Christmas light helicopter tour last night. It was so cool!! We had never been up in a helicopter before and I have to say that was the best part. I loved seeing all the city lights. We could see the Dallas and Fort Worth skylines all lit up at the same time and everything in between. It was beautiful! Our pilot, Michael, was fantastic, professional and friendly! He took us to see Christmas lights in Fort Worth, Arlington, and Grand Prairie plus we saw Cowboys stadium and the ballpark, Sundance Square and Cook's Children's Hospital lights. It was a very comfortable ride and we felt very safe. We all loved it and will be recommending them to friends. We definitely want to do this again!! Fourth of July is next!!! Jackie H.
Experience was better than expected! It's like being in a glass elevator with a birds-eye view of the city. We highly recommend Michael as your pilot. Worth every penny for a gift with an experience that will never be forgotten. We got some great pics so be sure and TAKE YOUR CAMERA! Trip Advisor User
Our pilot was very informative and friendly. We had an awesome experience. I am afraid of height and a little motion anxiety, however I did not experience any on this flight. Note: I emailed other companies for the same flight, Epic was the only tour service that responded to my initial email. Thank you Epic Tours for a wonderful experience that exceeded my expectations. Frequently Asked Questions

Grand Canyon helicopter tours range anywhere from around $180 to $830 per person, depending on the tour type, company and add-ons, such as a canyon floor landing or a visit to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Recent travelers say a Grand Canyon helicopter tour is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. People say the views are amazing and that the unique angle of the Grand Canyon is breathtaking. Several also say the trained pilots are knowledgeable and have helped ease their fears about flying.

Most Grand Canyon helicopter tours are considered safe, with vetted pilots who meet approvals from the Federal Aviation Administration in maintenance, training and aircraft safety. Pilots are also required to fly a certain number of hours before leading a helicopter tour. However, keep in mind there are risks involved in any adventure activity you choose to participate in, and travel insurance with medical protections can be a valuable investment in this scenario.

The most common causes of commercial helicopter crashes typically involve mechanical problems, inadequate maintenance of the aircraft, rapidly changing weather conditions and varying pilot experience. If you have concerns, it's best to reach out to the tour companies directly for details on their protocols for pilot training and aircraft upkeep.

Helicopter Tour Grand Canyon South Rim, North Canyon Tour - 30 Minutes

Booking a Helicopter Ride Helicopter flights range from the adventurous to the romantic, from quick joyrides to comprehensive tours. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect, what you can see, and what style of helicopter flight might suit you best. How much is a helicopter ride? Helicopter rides vary in price depending on the amount of time you want to be in the air and the type of helicopter used for the tour. No matter how much are helicopter tours, they are the best way to view sites unobstructed.

What to wear on a helicopter ride? Dress according to the season. In the summer months, it is best to wear sunglasses and sunscreen.

What to Expect on Your Helicopter Ride After arriving at the heliport, you’ll be briefed on safety protocol before buckling up and readying for take-off. Photographers might want to ask about wearing a harness instead of a traditional seatbelt in order to capture shots from as many angles as possible (be advised, not all flight offer this option). As you soar through the skies, information about the sites below will be provided either through prerecorded headset narration or live by your pilot. Some tours even feature a landing, giving you photo ops from all angles. One great advantage of a helicopter tour is the ability to sightsee from many viewpoints in the space of minutes. Feel like circling directly above the Statue of Liberty? Or getting up close to her torch? Or swooping low over the water to snap a shot from below her feet? It’s all possible on a helicopter ride. How Many People Can a Helicopter Ride Accommodate? It depends largely on the model. Capacity ranges from the slick Robinson R22, which can only take one passenger, to the luxurious EcoStar that can accommodate up to seven. Most helicopters used on tours can seat three to five people. Some tours even offer the opportunity to sit next to the pilot. It is worth pointing out that not all tours are private, and that passenger seating is usually determined by weight. Therefore, you’re not always guaranteed a seat next to friends or family. To play it safe, book a tour on a chopper that you know you can fill (also, keep your eyes peeled for private flights, available in most major cities). Flying with the Doors Off A doors-off flight is the helicopter ride of choice for any serious photographer. And even if you’re not a pro photographer, let’s be honest—could anything be more heart-pounding than soaring with only a seatbelt separating you from the open sky? While these flights do require some extra precautions, your pilot will brief you on all steps necessary to secure your items and ensure a safe ride. Many helicopter models including the Robinson R22 and R44 accommodate this type of adventure. What Do You See on a Helicopter Flight? A helicopter ride is an exhilarating way to learn the geography of a new place. It’s also the perfect chance to revisit beloved landmarks from new vantage points. For shutterbugs, capturing photos from the air is infinitely more rewarding than sending up a drone and tapping buttons on a remote. There are more than 5,000 operational heliports in the United States. If you have a specific location in mind, chances are there’s a tour available for you! Grand Canyon Helicopter Flights Spanning almost 2,000 square miles, the Grand Canyon could take a lifetime to explore. Fewer than thirty people are known to have hiked all the way through it, a feat requiring many months and extreme planning. Luckily, you can experience the canyon’s sheer vastness with far fewer mosquito bites on a Grand Canyon helicopter flight. There are two major take-off points to choose from: the South Rim and the West Rim. If you’re already vacationing at the Grand Canyon, lift off from the convenient airport near Tusayan on the South Rim to see the canyon’s most iconic scenery. Those staying in Las Vegas, Boulder City, or Phoenix can be picked up directly from their hotel and shuttled to an airport on the west side of the canyon, from where you fly over the Hoover Dam before heading to the West Rim. Tours from both airports range from a quick 15 minutes in the air to all-day excursions that include canyon landings, Wild West performances, or pontoon boat rides. Helicopter flights are available year-round, which is especially interesting given that the road to the North Rim is closed to the public during the winter season (up in the air is the only way to see it!). Grand Canyon helicopter rides generally take place in an EC130 EcoStar, which features sightseer-friendly wraparound windows. Flights are also available on an ultra-quiet H125, a chopper specially engineered to withstand extreme environments. Hawaii Helicopter Rides Take in the stunning scenery of America’s 50th state. Cruise over Maui or Oahu Island and see volcanoes, waterfalls, white beaches, and the incredibly blue ocean from the most dramatic of viewpoints. Maui Island is composed of two shield volcanoes connected by a low isthmus. A Maui helicopter ride can fly you over all the island’s must-see landscapes such as Haleakala National Park, home of the world’s largest dormant volcano; Iao Valley State Park, once forbidden to all but Hawaiian royalty; and the lush jungle and rocky cliffs of the island’s 100+ miles of coastline. A helicopter flight over Oahu showcases a combination of landmarks both natural and manmade. Soar over the rim of Diamond Head—the extinct volcanic crater that looms over the city of Honolulu—and swoop into “Jurassic Valley” before you fly past Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. For the daring, Oahu helicopter experiences include a few doors-off options. NYC Helicopter Flights The Big Apple has it right there in the name: it’s big. When considering its five sprawling boroughs, notoriously unreliable public transit, and reputation for heavy traffic, the savvy tourist quickly realizes that the best way to see the highlights of New York City is by air. Moreover, New York City is the most photographed city in the world. Treat yourself to a fresh experience by choosing a helicopter tour. Sure, you know what the Statue of Liberty looks like, but can you imagine what it’s like flying past her crown? And no matter how much time you spend wandering Central Park, you’ll never get the full sense of Frederick Law Olmsted’s master design like you would from the air. NYC helicopter tour highlights normally include the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, and Brooklyn Bridge. Longer tours go deeper into Manhattan and around Governor’s Island. Both daytime and nighttime flights are available, each with their own pros and cons. A daytime flight offers the best views of Central Park and a chance to see more details of the city in general whereas a night tour lets you see Lady Liberty all lit up against the electric skyline. Whichever you choose, your NYC helicopter flight lets you witness a unique side of the City that Never Sleeps. Las Vegas Helicopter Rides It’d be easy to spend a whole weekend (if not longer) in Vegas and never stray from the short path between your hotel, your luckiest casino, and your late-night haunt of preference (they might even be one and the same place)! But the next time you’re in Sin City, shake things up on a Las Vegas helicopter tour. No need to brave the sweltering desert heat: Las Vegas is the rare destination that is definitively best viewed at night, so leave your sunglasses in the hotel room. Naturally, everything done in the city of glitz and glamor is done in style. You’ll be chauffeured from your hotel to the heliport in a limousine and offered a glass of Champagne before you lift off on your helicopter flight. Your tour takes you over all the massive hotels, each competing for the most grandiose display of neon lights. See scale-model reproductions of world landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Luxor Pyramid. Witness the dancing waters and colored light display of the Bellagio Fountain. In a town as wild as Vegas, a chance to rise above and see the city in her full splendor is an opportunity not to be missed. Flights All Across America Of course, lots of other destinations offer helicopter tours, too. Los Angeles is a popular spot with its dazzling combo of mountains, desert, and beach. So are cities like San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Chicago (great for architecture buffs). If you’re keen on natural splendor, check out a helicopter tour over Sedona, Hilton Head, or Niagara Falls. Should you find yourself in Anchorage, there are even helicopter tours over glaciers paired with dog sled rides! Pilot Your Own Helicopter Aspiring aviators, you’re in luck. Get behind the controls on an introductory helicopter pilot lesson—no prior experience required! These adventures are offered in many major cities including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Cruising through the air in a helicopter is a feeling unlike any other. When piloting a plane, you feel the forward momentum. A helicopter, by contrast, gives the uncanny sensation of floating in the air. You have total control in all dimensions. It’s a serious rush. A helicopter pilot lesson begins with a safety briefing and a session in a flight simulator. Once you feel confident in your navigational skills, it’s off to the tarmac. All safety precautions are taken as you lift off under the watchful eye of an FAA-certified pilot. As you soar through the sky, your co-pilot is there beside you to take control of the aircraft in the event you’re unsure of anything. Helicopter flight lessons generally last around 30 minutes. A Wide Variety of Flights You’ll find different styles of helicopter flights at just about any destination. Helicopters are versatile creatures: they can offer adventure or romance, total exhilaration or luxury and comfort. Sunrise or Sunset Flights? Photographers looking to capture dramatic lighting (or anyone who appreciates the beauty of a picturesque golden hour) should consider a sunset or sunrise tour. These tours uniquely offer the opportunity to shoot during a variety of lighting conditions, broadening your chances of nailing the perfect shot or perhaps creating a compelling photo series. Thrilling Joyrides or Romantic Outings? Some helicopter tours are geared to the adventurer: doors-off and hurtling through the sky. Others (especially private tours) are all but designed to end in a marriage proposal, diamond ring not included. To ensure a romantic mood, choose a private VIP experience. And pay attention to the parameters of your tour to make sure you don’t end up drinking Champagne on a mountaintop with your daredevil buddies or screaming for your life above a volcano with the girl of your dreams—unless, of course, that’s your thing. Quick Excursions or Full-Day Tours? No matter your budget or how much time you have, there’s a helicopter ride for you. A quick 15-minute jaunt offers a chance to get the lay of the land and experience the thrill of flight. Longer tours let you do some serious sightseeing and often include a landing and photo op mid-flight. Full-day experiences are generally packaged with another activity like a picnic lunch, a Jeep tour, or a horseback ride, depending on what area you’re travelling. A Flight to Remember A helicopter flight is often the centerpiece of a long-planned vacation. It can also be a chance to celebrate a special moment in style, or an opportunity to see familiar sights with fresh eyes. Whatever your reason for flying, no matter the destination, you’re in for a treat. The sheer joy of hovering hundreds of feet above the ground in a tiny machine is likely to be the highlight of your year.

Jeremy Clarkson responds after Clarkson’s Farm filming is stopped for bizarre reason

Jeremy Clarkson responds after Clarkson’s Farm filming is stopped for bizarre reason

Jeremy clarkson revealed what happened to stop filming on instagram.

After filming for the fourth season of Clarkson's Farm was halted for a rather bizarre reason, Jeremy Clarkson has given his own savage response.

The former Top Gear host recently revealed season four of his beloved Prime Video show was in the works following rumours of it being axed after the third season concluded last week.

This, of course, has come as wonderful news to fans who've absolutely loved the recent third season.

Season three, which released in early May, was once again jam packed with humour, heartbreak, council disputes and the harsh realities of the farming industry as Clarkson tried to find ways to diversify the 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm plot following the forced closure of his farm restaurant .

The latest season also saw the return of beloved farmhand Gerald Cooper after he revealed he'd been diagnosed with cancer .

The roaring success of the third season of Clarkson's Farm - despite viewers being left devastated after witnessing the deaths of Clarkson's new piglets - means that a fourth is currently in the works, despite rumours that the show was going to be done for good.

Season three of Clarkson's Farm has been a roaring success. (Prime Video)

Writing on X during a recent Q&A with fans, Clarkson revealed the good news himself, saying: "It's not [the end]. We are filming season four right now."

While filming for the fourth season of the Prime Video show is well underway, Clarkson revealed this week that it was temporarily halted due to a bizarre disturbance.

Taking to Instagram, the broadcaster-turned-farmer shared a screenshot from FlightRadar24 showing a helicopter circling over his farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire.

And writing in classic Clarkson style, he penned simply: "Filming paused till this f**ktard buggers off."

While it currently isn't known why filming was paused, nor who was behind the helicopter being flown over the farm, fans have been poking fun over the uninvited guest, with one saying: "Council is finding new ways."

And another said: "Gotta be [Richard] Hammond."

LADbible has contacted Prime Video for comment.

Even though filming for season four is underway and excitement for it is certainly present, a producer of the show recently gave somewhat of a worrying update about its future.

Producer Andy Wilman spoke to Deadline about the future of Clarkson's Farm and how long it might run on for.

Speaking of Clarkson, he said: "He’s a restless man, he needs work, he needs things to do. And he loves that farm, he’s really at peace in that place.

"He never saw this coming in his career at 64. He thought his big end moment was that we end The Grand Tour successfully.

"I’ve got no feelings on whether there’s a five or not. Jeremy’s the same. He’s like: 'when we’ve got nothing left to say, let’s walk away'."

Papillon Grand Canyon South Rim Helicopter Tours

Papillon South Rim helicopter tours depart from a private terminal just outside the park itself, built with guest experience in mind. Easily able to accommodate 1,000 passengers a day, this facility features an expansive glass staging area -where visitors have a 180-degree view of the arriving and departing aircraft.

The South Rim Terminal is located just 3 miles outside the Grand Canyon National Park and serves as a launch point for our North Canyon Tour , Imperial Air Tour , South Rim Airplane Tour and Canyon Smooth Water Bus Trip . When it comes to exploring the Grand Canyon South Rim, there's no better place to start your adventure.

The Grand Canyon South Rim

Located in northern Arizona , t he Grand Canyon South Rim is one of the canyon's most popular destinations. Located in the Kaibab National Forest, this area offers a different experience with every season. Wildflowers bloom along the Kaibab Plateau in the spring, aspen leaves turn golden yellow in the fall, and canyon walls become lightly powdered in snow in the winter. Unlike other rims, the South Rim is open year round, so there is never a bad time to visit.

The South Rim is the most developed out of the rim areas, which means there are more services available here than most parts of the canyon. It also means the area can be prone to crowds. Peak season for the South Rim is in the summer, May through September. While the summer offers some of the best weather for the area, other seasons bring less of a crowd and offer a more private experience. No matter what season you plan to visit, you'll want to make sure you plan your trip well in advance. For more information check out our Grand Canyon National Park Guide.

Must-See Highlights of the South Rim Grand Canyon

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon offers an array of breathtaking sights and highlights to explore. One of the must-see spots is Yaki Point , which can be reached conveniently via the shuttle buses and provides stunning panoramic views of the canyon, making it a favorite among photography enthusiasts. Another highlight is the scenic Desert View Drive , which takes you to the East Entrance and offers various overlooks such as the historic Watchtower.

The Visitor Center serves as an excellent starting point, providing valuable information and exhibits that guide visitors to captivating hiking trails such as the renowned Bright Angel Trail and the scenic Rim Trail . Mather Point and Hermit Road are additional must-see areas that showcase the grandeur of the South Rim. Mather Point provides an excellent introduction to the stunning beauty of the South Rim and is a great spot to witness the ever-changing colors of the canyon, especially during sunrise and sunset, when the golden hues paint the landscape in a mesmerizing display. Hermit Road is a scenic route that offers several designated viewpoints along its stretch. This road is closed to private vehicles during the peak tourist season, making it a peaceful and enjoyable experience.

Visitors can hop on one of the shuttle buses and explore the different overlooks, each providing a unique perspective of the canyon. If you plan to visit the South Rim, please note that the National Park Service manages this section of the Grand Canyon and charges entrance fees to ensure the preservation and maintenance of this natural wonder.

Horses for Courses: Rory McIlroy eager to rekindle Valhalla form from 2014

Horses for Courses

Change Text Size

The PGA Championship, the second major championship of 2024, returns to Valhalla Golf Club for the fourth time.

Opened in 1986, Valhalla is no stranger to hosting big-time events. In addition to the 1996, 2000 and 2014 PGA Championships, the Jack Nicklaus design staged the 2008 Ryder Cup and two editions of the Senior PGA Championship.

Strokes Gained: Total

Players listed are in the field this week; 2024 season stats.

Major championship golf is designed to test every facet and every club of the best players in the world. The field is all professionals, the only major championship without amateurs playing. Identifying the best of the best begins with examining the total package.

A winner 10 years ago, Rory McIlroy (+750) returns to the Bluegrass State searching for his third PGA Championship. The winner at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island by eight shots in 2012 claimed his fourth and most recent major here in August 2014. Missing the cut only once at a wet Baltusrol in 2016, his eight top-10 results from 14 weekends at the PGA include recent paydays of T7 at Oak Hill in 2023 and solo eighth at Southern Hills in 2022. Posting four rounds of 68 or better in 2014, he led the field in SG: Off the Tee, Driving Distance and Driving Distance (all drives).

Strokes Gained: Off the Tee

For the second year running, the second major championship will feature plenty of doglegs, tight landing areas, and lush, thick rough that will swallow errant tee shots. Last year, Oak Hill featured 28 acres of fairway on a demanding test off the tee. This week, the Jack Nicklaus design rolls out just 23 acres of fairway. Tall fescue and Bluegrass, not surprisingly, frame the thin strips of Zeon Zoysia landing areas snaking through the almost 500 acres of property. The third-longest test on TOUR of 2024 features six par-4 holes measuring 472 yards or more. All four par-3 holes tip at 190 yards or more, including three holes 208 yards plus. Those giving it a ride off the tee will have less club from the rough or the fairway.

The strips of rough guarding the bunkers have been removed. Tee balls and approaches have a better chance of rolling into the 62 strategically placed hazards. Water penalty areas are also in play on seven holes. The rain on Tuesday could widen the fairways but could reduce roll-out. The combination of power and accuracy will shine.

In the last six PGA Championships, Brooks Koepka (+1400) has won half of them and tied for second once. Never missing the weekend in 11 previous attempts, the defending champion from Oak Hill will look to match Tiger Woods (+12500) in successfully defending the Wanamaker Trophy on two separate occasions. Setting the event scoring record at Bellerive outside St. Louis at 264 (-16), he returned the following year and opened 63-65 at Bethpage Black to stroll to his second consecutive title. Only Woods (4) and Valhalla course designer Jack Nicklaus (5) have more PGA Championship stroke-play victories.

Bogey Avoidance

Major championship golf rarely features par-breaker opportunities around each dogleg. Maintaining a relatively clean card by keeping the ball in play, not compounding errors, and getting up and down goes a long way in these events. Fairways will be missed. Recovery shots into T-1 Bentgrass greens averaging only 5,000 square feet provide another examination. Short-sided recovery shots will not be for the faint of heart, and not many will have many recent memories of putting these greens.

Local legend Justin Thomas (+4000) will have his first chance to compete in a major championship in his backyard. The Louisville native and son of a PGA Professional has won this event twice in the last seven years, but he was on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2014. The 2017 edition at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte saw him capture his first major championship. The 2022 tournament at Southern Hills outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma, saw him match the largest come-from-behind victory (seven shots) in winning his second Wanamaker. The only time he has missed the cut from eight tries was in 2021 at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island.

Oddsmaker’s extras

Tiger Woods (+12500): The four-time PGA Championship winner won back-to-back in 1999-2000 and 2006-07. The 2000 edition set the event scoring record on 18-under par (270) when Valhalla was a par 72. The last 10 editions for the 15-time major champion have produced only one top 10 – a solo second, two shots back of Koepka at Bellerive in 2018.

Phil Mickelson (+25000): The only other multiple PGA Championship winner in the field, he won his second title at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in 2021. Defeating Koepka by two shots, he became the oldest major champion in history at age 51. Playing in his 31st PGA Championship, he has cashed in the top 10 a total of 10 times from 27 weekend appearances including all three visits to Valhalla (second, T9 and T8).

Jason Day (+5500): The 2015 champion owns the scoring record in relation to par. Posting 20-under 268 at a very calm Straits Course at Whistling Straits on the shores of Lake Michigan, the Aussie almost went back-to-back but fell one shot short of a playoff to Jimmy Walker at Baltusrol. Playing the weekend in 11 of 14 attempts, his last of six top-10 paydays was achieved at TPC Harding Park in 2020.

Scottie Scheffler (+450): After cashing T4 on debut in the 2020 edition at TPC Harding Park, the No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking this week added T8 in 2021 and shared second last year at Oak Hill. The only time he did not play on the weekend was in 2022 at Southern Hills, his favorite course.

Will Zalatoris (+6600): Making his first start since losing to Thomas in a playoff at Southern Hills in 2022, the transplanted Texan cashed T8 at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in his other appearance in 2021.

Taylor Swift sings 'The Alchemy' as Travis Kelce attends Eras Tour in Paris

P ARIS — Taylor Swift sang "The Alchemy" as part of her acoustic set of surprise songs during Sunday's Eras Tour show with boyfriend Travis Kelce in attendance. Several football metaphors in the song have led fans to believe Swift wrote it about the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

"Can you believe this is the 87th show?" Swift asked during her acoustic set in La Défense Arena. Kelce wears No. 87. She then played a mashup on guitar of "The Alchemy" from her new album "The Tortured Poets Department" with "Treacherous" from "Red."

Kelce stood in his box as Swift glanced up at him and the crowd looked back and forth between the two.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

"This happens once every few lifetimes," Swift sang. "These chemicals hit me like white wine.”

The crowd roared.

Kelce joined 40,000-plus fans for the fourth and final night of Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour in Paris. He watched from a box seat alongside actor Bradley Cooper, super model Gigi Hadid and rock star Lenny Kravitz.

The concert marks the fifth time Kelce has appeared at the tour since the couple went public last year. His first stop was Buenos Aires, Argentina, followed by Sydney, Australia, and two nights in Singapore . Swift has changed the “Karma” lyrics to "guy on the Chiefs" every time Kelce has cheered her on from the sidelines.

Kelce hadn’t seen the new set list live since Swift switched up the eras and added her 11th era, “ The Tortured Poets Department .” The singer-songwriter said she’s been working on the changes for 8-9 months (since last fall).

Hadid has famously been a member of Swift's squad for years now and has been dating Cooper for several months.

Other celebrities spotted in the crowd included Grey's Anatomy actor Jessica Capshaw and singer Christina Milian.

Her next stop is Stockholm, Sweden, as she continues the European leg of the tour.
