This is a pretty good place to stop for the usual travel goodies. What made me give it 5 stars is Marge at check out. She's welcoming and very very funny. John the Manager: hold on to Marge. She's a real asset
I've traveled across the U.S and I've never stopped at a gas station like this. The staff was extremely friendly. I asked for Fix-A-Flat (just for an in-case situation) and they were already willing to help me with my tire. There was also I nice clean dog park for my dog to stretch her legs. I really wish all rest stops were like this, really puts you in a good mood.
For very late at night (think 4 am or so) on a weeknight, it was way too crowded. I couldn't even use the bathroom during the bus rest stop period & gave up on waiting in the long line to get food. Nice selection of convenience store things but God will show up before you ever get items paid for.
Bad management place, the cashier with the attitude. Unbelievable place for bus stops.
Nestled in a clearing off exit 39, the Davis Travel Center is a good place to stretch the legs and take a break from the pine tree monotony that is I-85. But its like the secret truck stop. There are signs for it for miles on both I-95 and I-85 but I've hardly ever seen more than a few cars and a couple of trucks here. A big combo convenience store / Dunkin Donuts / Subway with reasonably priced gas, I've stopped many times to fuel up and grab something for the road. The convenience store has a good selection of beverages and prepared foods but its more like a big gas station convenience store than a traditional truckstop one where you can pick up the oddest assortment of things. I've recently enjoyed the addition of corn dogs to the food selections and have successfully mastered the maneuvering of and SUV up the on ramp without getting mustard everywhere. Big parking lot too where you can catch a few Zs if you're too tired to drive. Nice as this section of the highway is decidedly rest stop no mans land.
I stopped at this location on my travel from Greensboro NC to Ashland VA. I stopped to use the restroom, and grab a few drinks. The restroom was subpar. There was something seriously wrong with both the coffee I got, and the coke zero my boyfriend got. I can honestly say that both of those purchases were a total waste of money.
Dunkin Donuts is a great place to stop for coffee and a donut, The manager and crew at Dunkin Donuts are really great people, The place is clean and well stocked. Clean bathrooms. Easy to get to from I 85

This place sucks.You want to call this a truck Stop,make it a truck stop.Not a bus terminal for fly by night Korean unsafe buses.4 buses at once 100 people standing around,never again all truck drivers avoid this place.
Clean bathrooms, super friendly clerk at the counter, clean parking lot, and great selection of stuff. What's not to like?! If I lived up here I'd probably frequent the place.

Company History
IN 1956, the Davis family opened a small restaurant in rural Sussex County, Virginia. That entrepreneurial spirit continued as the third generation of the Davis Family established two modern travel centers in Virginia, including one near the site of the original 15-employee restaurant.
Davis Travel Centers operates travel centers along I-95 & I-85 corridor .In addition to the large, clean travel centers in Stony Creek and Warfield, we also operate Exxon convenience stores in Stony Creek and Prince George, and many food brands in these locations such as Subway, Popeyes, Wendy’s, etc.
As members of AMBEST, a national association of more than 400 of the finest independent travel stops in America, we offer meals, refreshments and other amenities to keep our customers happy and energized as they continue their travels.
In January 2022, PMG Travel Plaza, LLC purchased the businesses, adding the “Davis” brand to its family of ever growing operations from Maine to Florida. PMG’s sole owner, Abdolhossein Ejtemai, began his career with a single service station acquisition in 1979 .Today, PMG employs over 800 people and serves 1,200 gas stations from Maine to Florida, making it one of the largest wholesalers and distributors of petroleum products on the East Coast all the while delivering exceptional customer service and treating customers and employees as FAMILY.
