Munich City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour
- 8.30 / 10 161 reviews | 2,695 travellers For basic information on important things to see it is certainly useful. Then an hour of relaxation in the city comfortably seated is fine. I would improve the information by making it more substantial and attractive (some information on monuments was put there without a more in-depth follow-up). Overall it's worth taking this trip. 8 Salvatore Lanciano

Guided tour for groups
City bus tour classic.
Some of Munich’s most beautiful landmarks are too far apart to be covered in a walking tour. A bus tour with an official city tour guide is therefore the ideal way to get to know the city.
A two-hour city tour includes the following sights:
Medieval city gates, Viktualienmarkt market, Königsplatz square, Pinakothek galleries, Olympic park , Schloss Nymphenburg (Nymphenburg Palace) (option to stop for photos), Schwabing district, Ludwigstrasse , Siegestor (Victory Gate), the university , Feldherrnhalle (Field Marshalls’ Hall), Englischer Garten (English Garden), Maximilianstrasse and the state parliament, Nationaltheater , Residenz palace and the Deutsche Museum (subject to changes).
The Guided Tours department at München Tourismus will be happy to advise you and respond to any special requests. We can also help you to find a suitable tour bus.
Please note: The route may change during major events in the city centre area. Therefore, the visit of the listed sights cannot always be guaranteed.

Castle and sports - experience Nymphenburg Castle and the Olympia Park on our bus tour of Munich with Hop On Hop Off system.
Nymphenburg/olympiapark tour by bus.
The purple line goes from the main station to Rotkreuzplatz, Nymphenburg Castle and Olympia Park. Experience the imposing baroque castle and park built for the 1972 Summer Olympics.
Sights on the Nymphenburg & Olympiapark Tour
The Nymphenburg & Olympiapark tour starts at the Hauptbahnhof (H1). In fifteen minutes, we reach Rotkreuzplatz. Starting here, explore the popular and centrally located district of Neuhausen (H8). If you don’t want to get off at Nymphenburg and the Olympiapark, it’s best to find a seat on the upper deck of our bus on sunny days. Enjoy the view of two of Munich’s tourist highlights while listening to the competent explanations of both areas thanks to the audio guide .
We reach Nymphenburg Castle (H9) half an hour after starting our tour. Stroll through the lush castle grounds or take a guided tour of this magnificent Baroque gem. Don’t confuse Nymphenburg Castle with Amalienburg Castle, which is also located in the expansive green park with water fountain. Take a souvenir photo under the tree of “Eternal Love,” make a detour to the Geranium House or the Botanische Garten, or satisfy your thirst for knowledge at the Museum Mensch und Natur or the BIOTOPIA Lab.
We’ll let you off at the parking deck at the Olympiaturm a quarter of an hour later, so you can stretch your legs. In summer, the Tollwood Festival takes place here with organic gastronomy, an arts and crafts market and top-class concerts. Originally, the Olympiapark (H10) was created for the 1972 Summer Olympics – with an indoor swimming pool, lake, sports halls, Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Tower. Today, the grounds host major music events and shows, as well as sporting events such as ice hockey games and bicycle races. Skatepark, Olympic Village and a memorial plaque for the attacks on Israelite athletes are located on the northern side of the Georg-Brauchle-Ring.
Incidentally, the car manufacturer BMW has not only opened its exhibition center BMW Welt here, but also a futuristic car and motorcycle museum in the BMW Museum . Remember well where the red double-decker bus stops – the way to the main station on foot is long – and there are several parking lots/parking decks around the Olympiapark. We will pick you up at the parking deck at the Olympic Tower.
