About the Business
First and Foremost. We absolutely are living our dreams because we really love what we do. Participate as a guest on one of our tours and you will immediately feel like you are part of our extended family. Our goal is that you will feel great, leave your worries behind and participate in an adventure that you and your family will be talking about for years to come. My mom and dad took me and my three brothers to truly beautiful places on real off-road adventures with the mighty Toyota Land Cruiser. They taught us how to fish, canoe, read a map, shoot a gun and really have fun on our expeditions. As I got older I kept working in the city but was drawn to move back to the mountains. My family and I eventually moved to Estes Park and started a little company with one truck and one guide. Just me. What make us really different from anyone else in the field is that we re-invest and re-invent ourselves constantly. As an example our flagship vehicle that we designed and built is the first vehicle ever to have 9 foot gull wing doors with a convertible Lexan top that can transform from near full convertible to fully closed and maintain a staggering usable viewing area of over 96% when it is closed! Don't be surprised when total strangers start taking pictures of you and your group in the truck. Seat quality and and seating configuration also plays a big role for your comfort and safety. If you are looking at other companies ask about seating, your back will thank you... …

I would give Dave, our tour guide, 10 stars if I could. He was everything we needed and wanted in a tour guide (and then some). I can't say enough great things about this tour from start to finish. We were in Estes Park for the week with my parents who have mobility concerns. Before we booked, we expressed some of our concerns to the owner who responded promptly. Talk about a great start! The day of the tour, Dave was energetic and entertaining. The custom-made jeeps were perfect for the trip, and Dave provided an incredible wealth of information. Weather prevented us from our expected tour (Top of the World), but he quickly redirected us and found other areas to explore instead. We have no regrets! Remember what I originally asked about my parents? Dave went out of his way to make sure my father could get on and off the jeep, assisting throughout the tour. That alone is incredible! We won't hold his Chicago preference over him, though I suppose I should deduct some points for that (I kid, I kid). Seriously - this tour was simply wonderful, and we had no regrets. We had spent 4 days in RMNP prior to the jeep tour, and we still loved every minute of it!
Moose at Sheep Lake - not a guarantee on a tour, but a pleasant surprise!
If I could leave 6 stars I would. A friend recommended this business to us for an off road 4X4 excursion up in Estes Park. We are SO glad they did! Everything about it was perfect, from booking to the end of it. We booked the Panoramic Peak Photo Tour, considered a moderate off road excursion. It was perfect! A HUGE shout out to our driver/guide Sadie-she was so knowledgeable, so fun-you could tell she really enjoyed her job. The truck was fabulous with just a tiny bit of roller coaster-y action (however, definitely empty your bladder before you hop on!) The tour was 3 1/2 hours and we went all over! I learned more about Aspens than I ever knew, we enjoyed incredible views and had fun the entire time. I would recommend this company to anyone!
Amazing views and knowledge on the entire tour. Jesica was fantastic!
We took the Winter Wonderland Tour at the end of December and it was wonderful! Our guide, Floyd, was incredibly knowledgeable about the town and national park and was a masterful storyteller. He sincerely engaged with our group and ensured we were comfortable and entertained throughout. Our group ranged in age from 2-71 and everyone enjoyed it. You can't get better views than those provided in the glass top vehicle and we were very warm and cozy throughout. We highly recommend!

Hello Megan! Thank you so much for your review! We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your tour with Floyd! Our guides are top-notch and go above and beyond for our guests! We hope to see you again for more adventures!
Wayne did a phenomenal job leading us through an unforgettable adventure on the TOP OF THE WORLD TOUR. When I was planning my family trip, I received a lot of negative comments telling me this would be a waste of money since I also have a rental car. I am so glad I DIDNT listen! The knowledge is invaluable. From learning about medicinal plants to history and even a love story, we were entertained and amazed the entire trip. No amount of photos can truly capture the elegance and grandeur your eyes will witness, therefore if you are on the edge about making that reservation- click that book now button and get ready for a great adventure. Thank you Wayne for being so accommodating and making my family feel at home.

Took roller coaster tour June 2023, this is a great way to see the mountains and learn about the ecosystem, plus super fun! Guide took care of everyone, brought lots of water and snacks and gives plenty of time for photos and rest. Also drives a wicked backwoods course.
We did the top of the world tour. Floyd was our guide and he absolutely made the tour fantastic! He's super knowledgeable and gives lots of interesting facts with lots of back story and at the same time puts some fun flare to it. I will say if you're going when it's cold... dress extremely warm because it was super cold. I had a blast though!
We had a awesome time! It was well worth the money. We will do it again when we visit Estes Park in the future. Jessica was a great guide. Not only was she a awesome off road driver, she was very knowledgeable on the Aspen tree. I know she taught our group!! Thanks from the Indiana Crew
Fantastic fun, beauty and informative tour I have ever experienced! Dan Your knowledge of the Park, animals. Rocks trees and every fun joke made this trip the very best!! This company has it ALL! Great guides, beautiful comfy seats, great prices, and value their guests with fluffy blankets, snacks, and water.

We LOVED Sadie!! Sadie took my family along the Top of the World tour and it was truly a life changing experience. Sadie's knowledge of the historical landmarks, native plants, wildlife and mountains blew us away. We learned SO much about common sights that we never knew before. Sadie also has great taste in music and played some truly soul-touching tunes to appreciate the views to. We were lucky enough to see Moose, Elk, Deer, Marmot, Pika, and a few other animals on our trip up to the Alpine Tundra, and Sadie let us pull off to the side of the road to appreciate them all! The vehicle we drove (the Badger) was SO cool and very comfortable. Sadie's driving made me feel so safe on the narrow and steep roads. She took some amazing pictures with us, shared her binoculars, and offered some really tasty snacks to everyone. The whole family agreed that this was our favorite experience ever. The sights were amazing and the drive was unforgettable but the experience wouldn't have been the same without Sadie's amazing personality. Thank you Sadie!!

Capacity (100 people at one time) Our pavilion is a great place to host corporate or large group events looking for a genuine rustic mountain adventure experience. This is a unique and memorable adventure that everyone will be talking about for years to come. The pavilion can host groups of up to 100 people and we have catering options available. Pavilion and Tower Our pavilion is a three sided wooden structure with a large fire pit situated on the top of Panorama Peak in Roosevelt National Forest. The longer open side facing south east looks down on the beautiful mountains and city lights of Down Town Denver and the front range of Colorado. (See Pictures) The Viewing Tower a short distance from the Pavilion is three stories high with the inner room newly remodel as a wine tasting room that has full size windows on three sides with a tasting table and wine decor. To top it off venture to roof where it is open air with a railed rooftop and seating. The views will take your breath away from its 360 degree views of not only the entire mountain range and Estes Park but the entire Front Range of Colorado, and on a clear day 4 states. Under the tower is a nice seating area with a gas fire pit for those that want to keep their feet on the ground. History of Trail Our off road tours and special events access our pavilion and viewing tower via Pole Hill Road. This is a class 5 off road trail that was the main route for pioneers and Native American tribes when accessing Estes Park before the 1930’s. Therefore any tours or events at the pavilion will have transportation provided by our guides and our amazing fleet of rock crawling off trucks. Wahoo! Catering and Food Options We offer catering and can usually accommodate special requests such as live music on all of our tours/events.. We have options from either a simple hot dog weenie roast, amazing sandwich box lunches that includes chips, cookies, and small salad from Shakes Alive, a wine and cheese tasting in our tour or the most common is Smoken Daves BBQ that we have a full feast your group can enjoy. We have had events where the people have their own chefs and decorations and we provided the location and transportation for set up crew along with the tour on the day of the event for the guest. You can talk with our staff at any time for custom experiences you would like to create. We have had many successful large group events at our pavilion and would love to show you and your group what we are made of! Hope to talk to you soon!

Estes Park Wild Side 4×4 Tours : Take a Ride on the Wild Side [VIDEO]
By Nick from 50 Campfires
While a Colorado car camping trip is prized for the beautiful and sometimes rugged hiking opportunities, there’s another option. In Estes Park, just outside the Rocky Mountain National Park, the 50 Campfires Team discovered Wild Side 4×4 Tours . A bit of research revealed they offer something for off-road enthusiasts at every level of adventure.
Wild Side Tour Company is a family business built on living outdoor dreams. They are proud to be the only company within 100 miles who has the permit to offer both on-road and off-road tours in the Roosevelt National Forest. Their claim is touring from “mild to wild” including photography tours in Rocky Mountain National Park, on-road and off-road tours in the national forest, and a truly wild level rock climbing and roller coaster tour.
Wild Side’s general tour season begins on May 15 each year, but starting in November they also offer winter tours in both the national forest and rocky mountain park. They can accommodate all sizes of groups from couples to large family or corporate gatherings.
One of their unique attractions is a private viewing tower modeled after a fire watchtower. It has opportunities for both indoor and rooftop views that can extend as far as 150 miles on clear days. The guides are well-educated on the areas in which they travel and do all they can to create lifetime experiences for Wild Side’s guests.
Wild Side is a perennial choice for both the list of top tour companies in Estes Park as well as Top 10 Things to do in Colorado.

The tips are truly appreciated and allow them to do the work they love so much. The amount is ultimately up to you, but most people use restaurant standards as a benchmark.

Views of estes valley from the aerial tramway return in summer 2024, headline news.
For a more adrenaline-racing ride, Wildside 4×4 Tours will take you up steep hills, over massive boulders, and through rolling terrain that might lift you right out of your seat! All of Wildside 4×4’s Tour vehicles have been fabricated to sit extra passengers, which can hold 7 to 14 Passengers per vehicle. While the dirt roads may be rugged the 4×4 suspension makes these rides feel like a breeze! Comfort is key even for the Wildside 4×4 Tours, they offer complimentary blankets, gloves, hats, jackets, snacks, water, and pop to ensure that everyone will have a good time while they tour the back country.
Informative guides help fill-in details about the natural surroundings, and they know just the right spots to go fast for an exhilarating experience. Safety is paramount, so children under the age of four are not permitted to take the off-road tours. And they take extra precaution sanitizing before and after each ride, for safe practices.
Evening tours are available for Wild and Mild tours! These tours begin in the early evening and allow you to enjoy the sunset. The pinnacle of the “Not So Mellow Marshmallow Tour” culminates at Wildside 4×4 Tour’s private Pavilion, which boasts spectacular 360-views of the entire Estes Valley and even views of downtown Denver. Here at the newly-renovated Pavilion passengers get to roast marshmallows and hot dogs over an open fire as the sky slowly changes from blue to orange and every color in-between!
One of their most popular gentle rides is the “Top of the World Tour” through RMNP. One of the first stops allows you to walk to waterfalls, which is followed by a drive to the top of the Continental Divide, which is over 12,000 feet in elevation, where snow stays year-round! It is common to see lots of different animal sighting and learn some interesting facts about the park while being driven in style. Their custom trucks with convertible tops allow for amazing tours that are open year-round, so no matter the weather, you can take an adventure! Tours can be booked at www.wildside4x4tours.com or call 970-586-8687 to talk to one of their friendly staff.
