You might be asking “Why twin beds?” when there are plenty of RVs with queen or king size beds. While queen and king beds are for couples, if you travel as a group of friends, most likely than not everyone would prefer to have their own bed. Or you might be traveling with kids, and they would like their own space.
In these cases, buying or renting travel trailers with twin beds would make the most sense. Twin beds also take up less floor space, thus freeing up living space and offering more wiggle room inside the rig.
You can choose from travel trailers with two twin beds for two campers to the largest ones with up to three twin beds plus typically one sleeper sofa and one convertible dinette for extra sleeping spaces.
True Sleeping Capacity
Realistically, each twin bed can only accommodate one person, especially if you value a good night’s sleep. While a twin mattress can technically squeeze in two people or two kids, this can get a little bit too cozy. Thus be conservative when looking at the sleeping capacity that the manufacturer advertises, which is typically always higher than reality. To make sure you and your companions would have enough sleeping space, it’s better to look closer into the number of twin or double beds included in a specific floor plan, as well as the number of sleeper sofas and/or convertible dinette in the lounge area, to calculate the realistic number of sleeping spaces.
A common feature of travel trailers with twin beds is a bunkhouse, or sometimes a twin bunk over a sofa. When deciding between different models and floor plans, you should consider who you travel with as well as how everyone is going to use or share the space.
If you travel with kids, a bunkhouse would be a fun feature that they would love to call their own private corner. Otherwise, bunk beds are only suitable if there is someone light and agile enough, or willing, to climb up and down there a few times everyday. Another creative use of the bunkhouse is turning the top bunk into extra storage, or keeping the top bunk but converting the lower bunk into a workstation (something you might have seen in modern dorm rooms).
FAQ: Can I Fit Double Sheets On a Twin Bed Mattress?
A common question by fellow campers is whether double sheets can fit on twin mattresses. The answer is yes. There’s a bit of a wiggle room, but a double mattress is not significantly larger than a twin mattress so if you have a fitted sheet for a double mattress, you can confidently use sheet corner clips to snugly fit a double sheet on a twin mattress. You can easily buy sheet corner clips and different designs of clips and suspenders online to better secure bed sheets on a mattress. These will secure the sheet firmly in place and withstand any degree of tumbling.

At 25 feet length, the 2019 Forest River Flagstaff Shamrock 183 is one of the most spacious travel trailers with twin beds that uses pop-outs to maximize sleeping space while still managing to be reasonably lightweight and compact. The six sided aluminum frame construction also ensures lightweightness as well as durability.
The pop-out sections have canvas sides and can be opened manually. They are located on either or both of the front and back as well as on the sides of the rig. This type of hybrid travel trailers therefore offers more sleeping space without requiring a much larger overall length.
The Flagstaff Shamrock 183 includes three twin beds that are housed in the pop-outs and manually slide out. Each comes with storage right at the bedside for personal items. In addition, the dinette table also converts into a double bed. So while the rig is advertised to sleep up to 8 people, four full-size adults or two adults plus three to four children would be more realistic.
This is one of the travel trailers with twin beds that’s equipped for four-season camping, thanks to the 13,500 BTU A/C and powerful 30,000 BTU furnace. In addition, the water holding tanks are of adequate sizes, and the side and roof are solar panels prep, so you can take this rig on off-grid trips.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dual basin sink, a double door fridge, a microwave, a three burner stove and has a ton of storage space. There’s even a gas grill you can attach outside for cooking outdoors on hot days, so that the 13,500 BTU air conditioner does not have to work extra hard to keep the interior cool. The bathroom is spacious and includes a curved shower stall and a toilet.
You will enjoy the numerous luxury exterior features like the outside hot and cold shower, speakers for taking the party outdoors and outside gas grill. The only downside of this floor plan is the awkward placement of the entertainment center. Sitting in the lounge area, you won’t have as good a view of the TV screen as standing in front of the kitchen sink.

The beds feature a memory foam mattress for utmost nighttime comfort.
In addition, attention to details and quality standards are evident in thoughtful and well-appointed features throughout, including the use of the award-winning durable and stain-resistant HITCH fabric for seating upholstery in the lounge space, or the compact toilet with a small sink that sits opposite from the separate shower, which allows one person to use the lavatory while another is showering. Other smart and convenient features in the kitchen include a microwave that cleverly slides out from the cabinetry, a Baraldi vent for getting rid of odours and a three-burner stove with glass cover for maximizing countertop space.
The water tanks are not exactly large, but adequate for a group of four campers. Plus, the rig is solar prep, so should you choose to upgrade to have solar panels installed, you can stay off-grid for a few days.

The 2020 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 154BH is one of the best and most lightweight travel trailers with twin beds that can be towed behind a mid-size SUV, at only 18 feet long and having a dry weight of only 2,645 lbs. While the trailer is smaller and on the minimalist side, it would be adequate for short trips if you’re a single parent with two children or a couple with one or two kids, plus its moderate footprint means more camping possibilities too.
This trailer can accommodate up to four people (most realistically 2 adults and 2 children), with a comfortable twin bed in the front and bunk beds in the rear for the kids. Speaking to the family-friendliness, the bathroom features a shower and tub combo that’s convenient for bathing a small child.
As noted, the 2022 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 154BH is not the best option if you like to boondock for days at a time, due to the small water holding tanks as well as the overall lack of luxury features and amenities that would allow you to go on extended trips. Extra sleeping space comes from the midship dinette built into a power-retractable slide out that can be converted into a double bed, which makes sleeping space for four people in total.
Although this trailer is on the small side, the slide-out that houses the dinette gives you more interior floor space when you set camp up. One thing to note though is that if you want to watch TV together with your companions, it’s best to slide in this section to give everyone a clear view of the TV.
For a 20-foot travel trailer, this model offers quite a spacious bathroom and ample galley space. The bathroom features a large shower stall, skylight, vent and a toilet. If you want to travel light with one to two other friends or are a single parent with one or two kids, this minimal, compact and lightweight trailer would be a good option. At around 2,500 lbs of dry weight and only 17 feet in length, you might not need to upgrade your towing vehicle, since it can be towed behind a mid-size SUV. The single axel and size allows for maneuverability and easy parking at smaller campsites.
With two twin beds and a pair of bunk beds, this trailer can sleep up to four people. That’s the Standard model, while the Deluxe model only comes with two twin beds to make room for a toilet, shower and wardrobe closet. That means if a bathroom and toilet is an absolute must, you should get the Deluxe, but if you need sleeping space for more than 2 people and will be staying at RV campgrounds where public toilet and bathroom are available, stick to the standard model.
Both the Deluxe and the Standard model offer plenty of storage space including large under the bed compartments and wrap around overhead storage. There’s another exterior storage compartment for toys and tools that you would frequently reach for. Another feature that you would appreciate is the three large picture windows that open up the interior space and offer cross ventilation for an airy living space.

Another one of the Airstream travel trailers with twin beds that boasts aesthetics and functionality. As with every Airstream travel trailer, the 27 foot International is built with the same level of quality and incomparable durability which will last for generations to come. The Airstream International is set up with an optional rear hatch or a pair of bunk twin beds in the rear. If you opt for the front bunk, keep in mind that you will lose overhead storage in the bedroom.
One thing to keep in mind though, that at 28 feet long and a dry weight of 6,000 lbs, this Airstream is one of the largest travel trailers with twin beds in this list, which means you will need a powerful enough tow vehicle, and maneuvering off the beaten path on rough terrain might be a bit challenging.
What you lose in agility you gain in luxury. The Airstream International features a full kitchen with a sink, a three-burner cooktop, a two-way refrigerator, an oven and a microwave (or a convection microwave oven on option), and tons of storage are found throughout the galley. The feature you might not find satisfactory though, is that the shower and lavatory are separate and sit opposite each other, each divided by a curtain for privacy.
Luxury features include the enclosed insulated ducted climate control perfect for all weather camping, and an exterior hot and cold shower. There’s also a Solar Package for camping off-grid with either an optional 90W or 180W solar panel.

The Jayco Jay Flight is one of the smallest and easiest to maneuver travel trailers with twin beds. It features twin bunk beds with under bed storage and a curtain to create a private nook. Each bunk has a window for a good view of the scenery and ample natural light. The dinette folds down to become an extra bed to sleep another camper, most realistically a small child.
The rear bathroom has a shower/tub combination, while the kitchen is fully equipped, and the real hardwood cabinet doors add a touch of elegance. The downside though is its small water tanks, and it’s not solar prep, so this unit is not ideal for off-grid stays.

All Casita travel trailers are available in two models. The Standard model does not include a bathroom, whereas the Deluxe models include a bathroom with a separate toilet and shower.
The Casita Spirit is an excellent lightweight travel trailer for families or couples. It is designed with two distinct sleeping areas that can be converted into dinettes. The two dinettes provide ample and comfortable seating for up to 6 people.
If you like, leave the rear dinette in its double bed position permanently. The Spirit is available in 16-foot and 17-foot models for both the Standard and Deluxe. The Standard version has no bathroom and can sleep 6. The Deluxe version has a bathroom and shower and can comfortably sleep 3-4.
Nest up in the Casita travel trailer line-up is the Freedom. The Casita Freedom offers a double bed that converts to extra seating or dining for 4.
You also get upholstered swivel captain chairs. The swivel chairs are next to a screen picture window, providing a nice little reading area for a comfortable retreat.
As with all Casita models , it comes in a Standard layout that sleeps four but has no bathroom, or the Deluxe model that sleeps two and has a spacious bath and shower.
The Casita Liberty is another step up in their line of travel trailers. This model has spacious floor plans that offer more versatility than the Spirit or Freedom above.
The Liberty has two dining areas that can be converted to a double bed, two small single beds or a spacious king-size bed.
Like all Casita travel trailers, it is an excellent model for couples. The standard model has no bathroom and can sleep four, while the Deluxe model has a bathroom and can sleep two.
Independence
The Independence is the last model in the Casita lineup. The Independence offers two permanent twin beds .
This allows a couple to easily access the kitchen and bathroom without disturbing their partner. There is plenty of under-bed storage, and you also get 3 picture windows.
The windows are screened and operable, allowing for cross ventilation, lots of natural light, and a great scenic view of your surroundings.
Like all the other Casita travel trailers, it is available with or without a bathroom. Unlike the other models that come in 16 or 17 feet, the Independence is only available as a 17-footer.

Convinced by Our Casita Travel Trailer Review Roundup?
Overall we think the Casita Travel Trailers offer a great value and are perfect for couples. We don’t necessarily like the Standard version of each model since it does not have a bathroom. We prefer the Deluxe since it has a spacious shower and toilet.
The Casita, across multiple forums online, gets good reviews from owners for quality of construction and company support.

20 Small Travel Trailers with Twin Beds (Maximum Benefits In A Small Space)

Get Twin Beds In Your Travel Trailer
Todays modern RV builders tend to lean towards luxury buyers who want bigger beds. However not all buyers want a large, space hogging sleeping space. Luckily, there are still a good few small travel trailers with twin beds that give the RV enthusiast a lightweight easy to tow option with plenty of living room and sleeping space.
Two Twin Beds For More Floorspace
There are many reasons to consider going with twin beds in your travel trailer. They are great for kids, singles, or just so you don’t wake your significant other when you get up in the middle of the night. They make great hunting campers as well. Twin beds also take up less floor space affording you more wiggle room. Most small travel trailers with twin beds offer lightweight, maneuverable options that won’t blow your budget.
Because they offer more light weight options you can enjoy twin bed travel trailers without having to invest in a large tow vehicle. This can also save you down the road in fuel costs. More importantly, for some of us at least, it also means less of a carbon footprint. Helping to take care of the environment while enjoying nature.
There is a lot of hype these days about full sized travel trailer floor plans that offer all of the amenities of home including full to king size beds. This is great for some but what about those of us who don’t want that.
It seems to be harder and harder to find an RV that features twin beds in lightweight easy to tow designs. So, we’ve found a few that might be just what you are looking for. Many even have the option to convert into a queen size bed for maximum versatility.
Bigfoot Travel Trailer B25RQ
Just because it’s small doesn’t mean it is lacking in features. This model comes with two rear twin beds in a separate sleeping space in the rear. The interior living space is quite roomy. The dinette table also folds down for added sleeping arrangements.
The kitchen comes complete with stovetop, oven, microwave and fridge. LED lighting throughout, living area skylight, and plenty of windows make it bright and cheery. There is plenty of storage with overhead cabinets, under bed compartments, and under seat storage in the dinette .
This unit also comes pre-wired for solar panels in case you want to take your trailer to the next level. Solar panels also come in handy when you are boondocking or just trying to get off the grid. An electric awning and outside LED lighting invites you to sit out next to the campfire.
Bigfoot travel trailers offer the best in all season camping due to their high-density insulation and thermal pane windows. Heated and enclosed water tanks are perfect for winter camping.
Dual propane tanks with auto change over keeps the heat going worry free. At a little over 25’ in length, this is one of the longer trailers of its class. Giving you more floorspace while keeping towability.
CASITA Independence 17
This lightweight trailer comes with plenty of storage space including large compartments under the beds. The deluxe model comes with a toilet, shower and wardrobe closet .
However, if extra sleeping space is your goal, stick to the standard model that sleeps 4 with two twin beds and a double bunk with extra space underneath. There is still room for a kitchenette complete with sink, refrigerator, and three burner stove. Three large picture windows make the space feel more open and offer cross ventilation no matter which model you go with.
At around 2,500 lbs of dry weight, this compact trailer is ideal for people with smaller tow vehicles. The single axel and size make it perfect for maneuverability. Because it is short you can also camp at some national parks that have size limitations.
Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108TB
Don’t let the name fool you. The Winnebago Micro Minnie comes with big features. Let’s start in the front bedroom where the two twin beds can be converted into a king size bed with ease . Or use the divider curtain to create two sleeping areas. Standard equipment includes solar panels, fresh water reclamation, high efficiency heat, A/C and hot water, and extensive insulation. A must if you have kids.
The slide out dinette converts into additional sleeping space. With the slide out increasing the interior floor space, there is plenty of room to walk around the kitchen that includes a pantry and double door fridge . The full-size rear bathroom makes this Minnie seem massive, including a large shower stall. The exterior has extra storage, a power awning with LED lighting, and patio speakers.
At about 7’ wide, this Micro Minnie is easy to tow. It’s perfect for the newbie to travel trailer life as it is easy to see around and takes corners with ease. However, with just over 4,000 lbs dry weight you will need a heftier tow vehicle once you add all your camping gear.
Jayco Jay Flight SLX7 154BH
At 7’ wide, 18’ long and under 3,000 lbs dry weight, the Jayco Jay Flight is easy to handle even for the novice. It features twin bunk beds with under bed storage and a privacy curtain. Both bunks have their own window for extra light during the day.
The rear bathroom has a shower/tub combination. The real hardwood cabinet doors add a touch of class to the kitchen with it’s large pantry. The dinette folds down to become an extra bed to accommodate up to 4 people.
The interior ceiling height is 6’ 6” which is about average for travel trailers. This is great for most people. However, since the main RV bedroom is a bunkhouse, this might prove problematic for taller campers.
Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro E15TB
If you are looking for small and light weight, then this E-Pro could be a perfect fit. It weighs in at just under 2500 lbs and is only 7’ 6” wide making it easy for most tow vehicles. The dinning area converts into two twin beds or one king bed.
There are plenty of cabinets and under bed storage. Two outside panels offer additional storage. Even with its compact 15’ of space, there is room for a bathroom with shower and efficiency kitchen. This small travel trailer is ideal for 1-2 people who are looking for agility without compromising on headroom.
Forest River Rockwood GeoPro G15TB
This unit is super small- only 16′ 4″ but it packs a lot into that space. The twin beds can convert into a king size if necessary, and there is a toilet/shower combo unit and a kitchenette with a 3 burner stove, microwave, sink and refrigerator. All of this in just over 2600 lbs.
Outside there is a 10′ awning and loads of storage space under the beds. Hitch weight is only 367 lbs, so it can be towed with practically anything.
2022 Airstre
2024 Airstream RV International Serenity TWIN’s
The International is set up very similarly to the Flying Cloud. The main difference is the Serenity comes with an optional rear hatch and front bunk on some models. It is a really nice option as the hatch opens right next to the dinette for breezy eating. There are several models and interior decor options to choose from.
Keep in mind folks, Airstreams are HEAVY. Make sure to study the weights on your chosen model to ensure that you have an appropriate tow vehicle.
What you lose in agility you gain in luxury. They sport the classic Airstream rounded aluminum body design that creates a full 6’ 7.5” of headroom in the center. All have an exterior shower and the enclosed insulated ducted climate control perfect for all weather camping. New interiors include modern “liquid glass” overhead storage with interior LED lighting.

2023 KZ Escape E20 Hatch
This was a really nice configuration from KZ that unfortunately was not continues into 2024. You may still fond on out on the market if you look.
The KZ E20 Escape is another example of a twin/ king convertible bedroom, and is really impressive with it’s innovative use of space. This is a true light weight trailer at 3500 lbs dry.
The bed(s) are in the front of the trailer and are raised, creating exterior pass through storage. The interior features a full kitchen with refrigerator, sink, and two burner stove, as well as a toilet and shower in the bathroom, and a convertible dinette
It has the ultimate off road features including heavy duty off road tires with more clearance than your standard RV and back up camera so you can get into those tough spots with ease.
You can power the whole trailer with up to 300 watts of solar panels. 100 watts mounted to the top with an additional 200 watt expansion to really help you get off grid.
The back hatch flips up for easy loading of your coolers, fishing poles and kayak . Don’t worry about those bikes as this model comes with a bike rack on the front.
The hatch also doubles as a second awning for sitting out and enjoying nature. The mosquito net lets you keep the hatch open even at night for added fresh air. Exterior/interior speakers allow you to enjoy your music no matter where you sit.
This unit has a quick connect propane outlet for your outdoor gas grill. A gas griddle and mount come with the RV.
The park stairs fold down and lock into place for more stability and are easier to climb than normal RV steps. Which is great if you have bad knees. Tons of windows for natural light and additional sleeping space with the table conversion make this the perfect off grid travel trailer for the whole family .

A Few Final Thoughts
When deciding what model to go with, keep in mind how you are going to use the space. Bunkhouses are great as long as you have someone light enough who is willing to climb up there. Of course, I have also seen where a person turned their top bunk into storage for their photography equipment business.
If you spend most of your time outdoors and don’t mind being a little close in the evening when getting ready for bed, then going for a model with less floorspace might be right for you. Especially if you are having to watch your dry weight or want to reduce your gas usage.
Where you are going to use it is also important. Most of these models are small enough to get into most campgrounds.
However, some are better than others at getting off the beaten path or off grid. Keep in mind the weather where you are going too. Insulated holding tanks are almost a must if you are going to be doing any cold weather camping. Air conditioning and good airflow are a must if you plan to chase the sun.
Once you are all packed but before you hit the road, take the time to run by your local scales. You can find them with a simple map search usually.
This way you can make sure you are not exceeding your gross weight which can be easy to do with the amount of storage these small trailers offer. They can also check to make sure your weight is distributed evenly which will help with sway and tongue weight.

I only have one issue with the review is that you used trailers that had bunk beds to qualify as a trailer having twin beds. I think that bunkhouse trailers would be considered a different category than twin bed trailers.
Fair enough- we looked at it more from the standpoint of “separate” beds. Thanks for the comment.

In addition, I’ll be briefly discussing some features of travel trailers . I’ve also added some of the general pros and cons. By the time you’re done with this post, you’ll know everything there is to know about travel trailers.
Without wasting any more time, let’s jump right to it.
Casita Travel Trailer Reviews
Casita Enterprises has been known for manufacturing lightweight travel trailers in Rice, Texas, since 1983. The company has two main teams: the dealership and the manufacturers.
In this review, I’ll be discussing the five models . Keep in mind that each model has a Standard version and a Deluxe version. The main variation is that the deluxe model includes a bathroom and shower in place of the extra sleeping space.
Let’s see what each model has to offer.
The Casita Heritage
With a dry weight of 1880 lbs, this travel trailer is quite lightweight. You’ll have no issues pulling this trailer with your truck. However, you must check the weight capacity your truck can handle before investing in a travel trailer.
The Patriot may be small, but it does not lack in terms of features. The bath attached to the deluxe model is more or less similar to the one you’ll find in a larger Casita model.
It might not be super luxurious , but if you’re looking for a comfortable and cozy trailer for a weekend trip, this model is perfect. The ample seating space, comfortable setting, and interior ensure that your trip goes on without a hitch.
Model Specifications
- Overall Width: 6 feet 8 inches
- Total Length: 13 feet
- Aggregate Height: 7 feet 8 inches
- Interior Height: 5 feet 10 inches
- Dry Weight: 1880 lbs
- Size of Tires: 15 inches
- Maximum Capacity: 2-3 people
The Casita Spirit
Next up is the Casita Spirit, which comes in two sizes: 16 feet and 17 feet. Both sizes are available in both standard and deluxe versions. As I mentioned earlier, the deluxe model includes a bathroom and shower.
On the other hand, the standard model provides sleeping space for six people. So, if you intend to travel with a larger group, this model might be a good option.
The Spirit is definitely an upgrade from the model we mentioned earlier. Not only is it well-built and cozy, but it also provides you with an alternate floor plan.
Moreover, if you’re looking for a model with its own bathroom and shower that isn’t too large, Casita Spirit is a better choice. You’ll be able to enjoy small family trips with the added benefit of your own toilet.
Model Specifications (16 foot)
- Total Width: 6 feet 8 inches
- Overall Length: 16 feet
- Total Height: 7 feet 8 inches
- Dry Weight: 1970 lbs (Standard) 2185 (Deluxe)
- Maximum Capacity: 2-6 people
Model Specifications (17 foot)
- Overall Length: 17 feet
- Overall Height: 8 feet 11 inches
- Interior Height: 6 feet 1 ½ inch
- Dry Weight: 2210 lbs (Standard) 2489 lbs (Deluxe)
The Casita Freedom
Like the models mentioned earlier, Casita Freedom is also available in both standard and deluxe versions. Similarly, the double bed on this camper can also be converted into a dinette.
In comparison to the earlier models, this camper is definitely more luxurious. The interior of Casita Freedom includes plush chairs and a wide window. The deluxe model also includes a shower and a toilet.
The standard model can accommodate up to four people, while the deluxe model can fit around two people.
- Total Length: 16 feet
- Total Exterior Height: 7 feet 8 inches
- Interior Height: 5 feet 10 inches
- Maximum Capacity: 1-4 people
- Total Length: 17 feet
- Exterior Height: 8 feet 11 inches
La Casita Liberty
La Casita Liberty is a little different from the models mentioned earlier. The uniqueness of this model lies in the fact that it has two dining areas. In addition, in the deluxe version, this area can easily be transformed into a sleeping space with a double bed and two smaller beds or a king-sized bed.
This model’s floor plan offers more space and versatility to users compared to the earlier models. The standard model can accommodate around four people in the sleeping space.
On the other hand, the deluxe model can house two people in the sleeping space. And it also comes with the added benefit of a bath and a toilet.
This model is perfect for couples looking to enjoy a small getaway retreat.
- Trailer Width: 6 feet 8 inches
- Overall Height: 7 feet 8 inches
- Total Exterior Height: 8 feet 11 inches
La Casita Independence
Casita Independence, the last model in this list, is only available with an overall length of 17 feet, available in both standard and deluxe models. The latter of which comes with a bathroom and shower.
Moreover, this layout gives you extra storage underneath the bed. With Independence, you don’t have to worry about not having enough space for your camping equipment.
Similar to the previous model, Independence has three large windows that not only allow ventilation but also allow you to enjoy the scenic view as you travel in your camper.
This model can accommodate around two to six people.
- Dry Weight: 2210 lbs (Deluxe)
Other Casita Trailer Features
In addition to the specific features, there are some general features that most Casita models include. The list of standard features for Casita trailers is quite long. It includes features such as:
- Electric brakes
- 2-piece custom marine-grade fiberglass body
- Welded stabilizer jacks
- LP tank cover with city water connection
- Two 20 lbs gas bottles
- 110-volt power outlet
Besides, depending on the model, you’ll have other options to select for your Casita model. Most models come with in-built fresh and grey water tanks; however, depending on your usage, you can purchase larger storage tanks as well.
Furthermore, your appliances such as the following are already included, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing them:
- Two-Burner Stove
- Power Range Hood (Light Included)
- Silverware Drawer
Important Thing to Remember Before Getting a Travel Trailer
Whether it is your first experience with a travel trailer or not, here are a few important things to keep in mind:
Towing Your Trailer
Older trailer models can be attached to the bumper of your truck with ease. However, most of the newer models require a hitch connected underneath the frame to attach your trailer to your truck.
As newer models weigh more, I recommend using a weight-distribution hitch to ensure safety.
It is crucial to keep in mind the weight capacity of your truck before investing in a trailer. There’s no point investing in a trailer whose weight your truck will not be handle. Not only is this extremely dangerous, but it’s also damages both your truck and trailer.
Generally, small SUVs or front-wheel-drive cars can handle a weight capacity of around 1500 lbs, a mid-size all-wheel SUV or pickup can handle a 3000 lbs trailer, and a full-size SUV or half-ton pickup truck can tow a 5000 lbs truck.
However, I suggest you dig deeper to figure out your specific vehicle’s weight capacity just to be on the safe side.
Various Types of Travel Trailers
If you search for ‘travel trailers,’ you’ll find a variety of models pop up on your browser. It’s important to look into what each type offers and select one according to your requirements.
Some of the different types include:
- Teardrop camper
- Popup camper
- Hybrid travel trailer
- Toy hauler trailer
- Fifth wheel trailer
Construction
Another thing to keep an eye out for is the construction of the trailer. Depending on the model you select, travel trailers can have a single or dual-axle frame. You’ll usually find the sidings made of fiberglass panels, corrugated sheet metal, or aluminum.
Moreover, fiberglass or foam sheets are used for insulation .
Generally, fiberglass is a good option as it is quite durable and doesn’t allow leaks. However, fiberglass might add a few extra dollars to the overall cost of your trailer.
As you’ll be living inside your trailer for your travels, it’s important to look into the floor plan. You don’t want a trailer that’s too cramped or doesn’t provide enough storage space.
Besides, you also have the option of making upgrades to the camper as well. You can also choose to buy additional appliances such as refrigerators, heaters, microwaves, etc. according to your needs.
Pros and Cons of Travel Trailers
To make this even easier for you, I’ve highlighted some of the travel trailers’ general pros and cons. Be sure to read through these before you make your final decision:
- A variety of models are available
- Wide range of prices
- More affordable option than motorhomes
- An SUV can tow smaller trailers
- Longer travel trailers are a bit difficult to maneuver
- Depending on the weight, you may require a heavy-duty truck to tow your trailer

The twin beds in Flying Cloud trailers come with pillow top memory foam mattresses for ultimate comfort.
All Flying Cloud models also come equipped with Quietstream climate control systems that quickly heat or cool the cabin without generating a bunch of obnoxious noise. The interior of these travel trailers features light maple cabinetry and a choice of gray or tan upholstery.
Flying Cloud 23FB
The smallest Flying Cloud floorplan is the 23FB. Its front bedroom comes with the option for one queen bed or two twin beds. The main living area includes a large dinette booth and a small galley kitchen.
The bathroom is in the rear of the RV and spans the entire width of the trailer. This floorplan has a very spacious shower and a large vanity for an RV of its size.
Flying Cloud 25FB
The Flying Cloud 25FB features a front bedroom and a cross-hall bathroom with a separate shower. The front lounge includes a convertible dinette with an extra long bench seat on one side for relaxing and watching TV.
A small but functional kitchen includes a large sink, a refrigerator and a three burner stove.
Flying Cloud 27FB
Almost identical to the Flying Cloud 25FB model, the 27FB floorplan utilizes its extra space to provide more storage. These storage upgrades include a large wardrobe closet beside the shower and larger cabinets in the kitchen.
Flying Cloud 28RB
The rear bedroom in the Flying Cloud 28RB has twin beds and is located next to a cross-hall bathroom. The larger floorplan allows for a separate dinette that converts into a bed and a large sofa in the front of the RV. The 28RB also has a small closet for hanging clothes.
Flying Cloud 30RB Twin
The largest of the Flying Cloud travel trailers with twin beds, the 30RB also has a rear bedroom, a cross-hall bathroom, a convertible dinette and a large sofa in the front of the trailer. A large wardrobe closet beside the shower provides plenty of space for hanging clothes.
Airstream International Twin Bed Floorplans
Airstream’s International travel trailer line is designed to help bring the outdoors in while camping. Like the Flying Cloud trailers, the International RVs all include the Quietstream climate control system to help keep noise down. They also feature an optional solar panel and battery upgrade.
These stylish trailers feature cool wood tones, clean modern lines and natural seashore-colored textiles. Buyers can choose between two interior design packages, one which has light blue upholstery and one with light gray upholstery.
International 25FB
The layout of the International 25FB is pretty much identical to the same-size Flying Cloud floorplan. The front bedroom is next to a cross-hall bathroom with a separate shower. The front lounge also includes a convertible dinette with an extra long bench seat on one side.
Airstream Pottery Barn Twin Bed Floorplans
Designed in partnership by Airstream and Pottery Barn, these 28 foot travel trailers feature custom furniture, tailor-made storage solutions and timeless design.
Some of the unique features of the Pottery Barn special edition models include an outdoor table that hangs from the window and canvas storage bins.
The Pottery Barn RV’s classic design elements include a solid wood oak dining table, linen curtains and a couch with family-friendly performance fabric and a hidden fold-out table.
These trailers even include a Pottery Barn accessories kit with a folding table and armchair set, a 16-piece dinnerware set, a doormat and more
Airstream Pottery Barn 28RB
The Pottery Barn 28RB has a rear bedroom with twin beds and a cross-hall bathroom. The custom sofa sits in the front of the RV under the panoramic windows. The floorplan also offers a full kitchen, a convertible dinette and a small clothing closet.
Other Travel Trailers with Twin Beds
Below is a comprehensive list of all other currently manufactured travel trailers with twin beds. These trailers are listed in alphabetical order.
Bigfoot B25RQ (Twin Bed)
Length: 25 feet, 6 inches
Made by Bigfoot RV, the Bigfoot B25RQ comes with an option for twin beds. Partial walls and a curtain door separate the rear twin beds from the front of the trailer.
Three large windows in the bedroom area offer tons of natural light, but the day to night shades easily block any nighttime lights. The trailer also includes a full three-piece bathroom and a full kitchen with microwave, oven and stovetop.
A large wall of drawers and storage cabinets is located right outside the bedroom. In the rear of the RV is a dinette with an extended bench on one side that doubles as a comfortable lounging space.
Forest River Rockwood GeoPro G15TB
Length: 16 feet, 4 inches
Even smaller than the Flagstaff twin bed trailer, is Forest River’s Rockwood GeoPro G15TB. At only 16 feet long and under 3000 pounds, this GeoPro is the perfect adventure twin bed travel trailer.
The twin beds lie on either side of a removable table and double as seating benches. Although this travel trailer is tiny, it has everything you need to create a home on the road.
The front kitchen includes a large sink, a refrigerator, a built-in cooktop and a microwave oven. A wet bath includes a shower and an RV toilet. Cabinets above the twin beds and loft spaces at either end of the trailer provide storage space for clothing and gear.
KZ Escape E20 Hatch
Length: 23 feet, 10 inches
Another small, but mighty travel trailer with twin beds in the KZ Escape E20 Hatch. The open floorplan includes twin beds in the front of the trailer, which can be converted into one king-sized bed by inserting the included middle mattress cushion.
The trailer also includes a kitchen with a sink, microwave oven, two-burner stove and a pantry. The two-piece bathroom houses a toilet and a separate shower.
Located in the rear of the RV, the Escape’s eponymous Hatch is its most unique feature. The hatch is a large rear door that opens vertically to provide easily accessible storage and lots of fresh air.
Oliver Legacy Elite II
Length: 23 feet, 6 inches
The Legacy Elite II by Oliver Travel Trailers is a luxury fiberglass camper available with twin beds. The open layout trailer includes two twin beds located in the rear of the RV. The two person dinette both also converts into a bed to sleep one additional person.
A television hangs between the two beds, which can also double as seating space. A full three-piece bathroom, as well as a large wardrobe closet are located in the rear of the travel trailer.
Other unique features include LED floor lights, an EZ winterizing system and day to night window treatments. The trailers are sold factory-direct and buyers can choose from five interior décor options.
Winnebago Hike 100 H1316TB
Length: 15 feet, 11 inches
This Winnebago Hike floorplan is a tiny travel trailer with a unique twin bed layout. In the rear of the RV, a sofa sits across from a set of twin-size bunk beds. Having the twin beds stacked allows for more seating space to use during the day.
The front of the RV includes a wet bathroom and a small kitchen. The kitchen includes a small refrigerator, a microwave, a sink and a pull-out counter for prepping food.
Designed for outdoor adventure, the HIKE 100 comes equipped with a 200W solar panel and weighs just over 3000 pounds. For four season camping, the Hike also has enclosed tanks, tank heaters and one-piece radiant-foil insulation.
Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108TB
Length: 22 feet, 7 inches
Last, but not least on our list of travel trailers with twin beds is the Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108TB. The twin beds, which can be converted into a single king bed, are located in the front of the trailer.
The beds are open to main room of the RV, but a divider curtain allows for privacy. A single slide-out allows for more living space and houses either a dinette table and benches or sofa and table.
A large three-piece bathroom extends the entire width of the rear of the RV. Windows beside each twin bed provide cross-ventilation for a great night’s sleep with fresh air.

8 Perfect Travel Trailer Floor Plans With Twin Beds
- Last Updated: September 1, 2024
- 16 minutes read
Travel trailers are very popular with families and RV adventurers who want to have room to spread out, yet sleep everyone comfortably.
Of course, this also means that a lot of RV manufacturers are all too happy to produce them in a wide range of styles, sizes, layouts, and sleeping arrangements.
If you are in the market for a travel trailer and you need to sleep a fair number of people each night, you might be wondering what are some of the best travel trailers with twin beds?
Right off the bat the Forest River – Flagstaff E-Pro E15TB and the Winnebago – Micro Minnie 2108TB are two of the top travel trailers with twin beds in this arguably crowded field. Though they aren’t the only options worthy of your time and hard-earned money. The Keystone Springdale 189FLWE is also a great option and has the amenities to support a family for several days of boondocking off the grid.
To better help you find the best travel trailer floor plans with twin beds to meet your needs, we decided to dive headlong into this crowded niche.
Along the way, we looked at how the specifications of each could be used to fit specific interests, as well as how the material build quality could impact the long-term cost of ownership.
This is especially important when it comes to resale value, as a lot of families tend to downsize their RV needs once the children have grown and moved on.
8 Best Travel Trailer Floor Plans With Twin Beds In 2023
The travel trailer niche is relatively crowded, and rightly so. These RV’s tend to be a blank canvas that invites multiple floor plans.
Though not all of these variations work well with the needs of families who need to sleep multiple people in twin beds every night.
So, we took a close look at this niche to find some of the best twin bed travel trailers, before reviewing them closely.
So without further adieu, here are our favorite travel trailer floor plans with twin beds you may want to consider.
1. Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro E15TB
- Dry Weight of 2,483 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 1,383 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 366 lbs.
- Length 15-Feet
- Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 37.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 12.0 gallons
- Black Water Tank Capacity of 12.0 gallons
- Sleeps up to 2 people
- Air Conditioning 13,500 BTUs
- Heater 20,000 BTUs
The 2020 Forest River – Flagstaff E-Pro E15TB is a tidy 15-foot long travel trailer with two twin beds in the rear master bedroom.
They can be used as a single sleeping space for two people or converted into a king size master bed.
This is a great option for a couple or two single people who travel together, but need to sleep separately.
It’s a great option for say two construction workers who are working at a remote job site.
In the front of the Forest River – Flagstaff E-Pro E15TB there is a complete kitchen and a bathroom with a toilet and a small shower stall.
There’s also a fair amount of interior storage, which works conveniently around a small entertainment center.
The exterior of the Forest River – Flagstaff E-Pro E15TB is also nicely appointed. Here again, you will find a great deal of external storage for tools and camping gear.
There’s even a conveniently large awning. It carefully covers the outdoor gas grill that is included in most dealership’s standard package.
2. Coachmen Catalina Summit Series 172 BHS Travel Trailer
- Dry Weight of 3,445 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 985lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 430 lbs.
- GVWR of 4,430
- Length 20-Feet
- Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 33.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 25.0 gallons
- Black Water Tank Capacity of 25.0 gallons
- Sleeps up to 6 people
With one look at the floorplan of the Coachmen – Catalina Summit 172BHS, and you know that it was designed to accommodate a family of four or more.
There are bunk beds in the back for two kids as well as a twin bed in the front and a dinette table that also converts into the equivalent of a twin bed.
This means that the Coachmen – Catalina Summit 172BHS can sleep four to five people comfortably, and even 6 in a pinch.
With all this sleeping space you might be worried that there isn’t a lot of living space.
Fortunately, Coachmen built the dinette area into a large slide-out section to maximize the floor space.
This gives you room in the kitchen for a two-burner stove, a single basin sink, and an RV refrigerator.
There’s even a bathroom in the rear with a 36-inch tub/shower combo and a toilet.
3. Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108TB Twin Bed Travel Trailer
- Dry Weight of 3,950 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 435 lbs.
- GVWR of 7,000
- Length 22-Feet
- Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 31.0 gallons
- Sleeps up to 4 people
- Heater 18,000 BTUs
Winnebago is one of the most trusted names in the RV industry. While many people think of them for their extensive line of well-designed motorhomes, they also have an impressive line up of travel trailers like the Winnebago – Micro Minnie 2108TB.
Here again, we have a travel trailer with twin beds that can also be converted into a king size master bed.
Though this bedroom is located in the front of the travel trailer. There’s even a curtain divider for privacy.
At midship, you will find a dinette build into a power-retractable slide out. This gives you more interior floor space when you set camp up.
Though the dinette is at a little bit of an awkward angle for watching TV when it’s expanded. The dinette area can also convert into a double bed.
So, if you want to do something like watch a family movie before going to bed, you might want to slide the dinette area in to give everyone clear sightlines of the screen
The kitchen and bathroom in the 2019 Winnebago – Micro Minnie 2108TB are spacious for a 20-foot travel trailer.
There is a three burner stove, dual basin sink, and an RV absorption refrigerator. The bathroom even has a large shower stall and a toilet.
4. Airstream Globetrotter 25FB Twin Floor Plan
- Dry Weight of 6,074 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 1,226 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 882 lbs.
- GVWR of 7,300
- Length 25-Feet
- Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 39.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 37.0 gallons
- Black Water Tank Capacity of 39.0 gallons
- Air Conditioning 15,000 BTUs
- Heater 25,000 BTUs
Airstream is another one of the giant names in the travel trailer niche of the RV industry.
The Airstream – Globetrotter 25FB represents one of their sleekest models with twin beds.
Playing on a common theme the front of the Globetrotter has a pair of side by side twin beds that can also be converted into a king size master suite.
In the rear, there is a bench seat that also converts into a twin bed. Hen you also factor in the bench dinette, it means you can sleep up to 6 people at a time in the Airstream – Globetrotter 25FB. Though four is more realistic in the real world.
The kitchen, bathroom, and wardrobe storage area all sit at midship in the Airstream – Globetrotter 25FB.
There are a three burner stove and a single basin sink in the kitchen. The compact bathroom has a small basin-bowl sink with a toilet, and the shower sits opposite the hall.
This means that one person can be using the lavatory, while another is showering.
5. Coachmen Viking Ultra-Lite 17SBH
- Dry Weight of 2,694 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 1,022 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 401 lbs.
- GVWR of 3,716
- Length 21-Feet
- Air Conditioning 5,000 BTUs
The Coachmen Viking Ultra-Lite 17SBH is a relatively lean and lightweight travel trail with a double bed in the front nose section and a pair of bunk beds in the rear.
The side dinette also converts into a bed that will work with most double bed sheets.
This means that on paper the Coachmen Viking Ultra-Lite 17SBH will sleep up to 6 people, though four is more realistic without having people doubling up.
The kitchen and bathroom in the 2019 Coachmen Viking Ultra-Lite 17SBH are tidy and share the same central hallway.
There’s a dual burner propane stovetop and a single basin sink in the kitchen along with tons of overhead storage. There’s also a fair amount of exterior pass-through storage.
If there’s a complaint to be made with the Coachmen Viking Ultra-Lite 17SBH it’s the slightly underpowered 5,000 BTU air conditioning system.
If you do want to camp in overly hot and humid conditions, it’s best to pack along a box fan or two to keep the air properly circulating through the camper’s interior.
6. Jayco Jay Flight SLX 154BH
- Dry Weight of 2,645 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 805 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 335 lbs.
- GVWR of 3,450
- Length 18-Feet
- Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 10.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 19.0 gallons
- Black Water Tank Capacity of 19.0 gallons
- Air Conditioning 8,000 BTUs
Jayco has its fingerprints all over the travel trailer niche of the RV industry.
So, it comes as little surprise that they would offer their popular Jay Flight travel trailer in a bunk & twin bed configuration like you see with the SLX 154BH floorplan.
With bunk beds in the back and a comfortable twin bed in the front, this is a great camper for a single parent who wants to take their children on RV adventures.
Speaking to the family-friendliness of the Jayco – Jay Flight SLX 154BH there is a comfortable tub and shower combo in the rear bathroom.
It’s deep enough to properly bathe a small child. There’s also a flushing toilet that is somewhat low to the floor.
Though it’s also worth noting that the fresh, gray, and black water storage tanks on the Jayco – Jay Flight SLX 154BH are a little on the small side compared to many competitor travel trailers with twin beds.
This isn’t a factor if you are going to be staying at campgrounds and RV parks that offer resources and have an RV dump station.
Though the 2021 Jayco – Jay Flight SLX 154BH probably isn’t the best choice for a boondocking family who wants to camp off the grid for days at a time.
7. Keystone Springdale 189FLWE
- Dry Weight of 4,228 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 1,727 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 455 lbs.
- GVWR of 5,955
- Length 28-Feet
- Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 60.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 40.0 gallons
- Black Water Tank Capacity of 38.0 gallons
- Sleeps up to 7 people
At 28-feet long and tipping the scales with a dry weight of 4,228-pounds the Keystone Springdale 189FLWE is one of the largest travel trailers with a twin bed that we reviewed.
With a convertible sofa bed in the front, a bunk over a twin bed in the back, and a convertible double bed dinette at mid-ship, you can sleep up to 7 people in this surprisingly spacious travel trailer.
The midship kitchen has a stylish glass top three burner range and a large single basin sink that lets you comfortable handwash dishes.
While that might not sound all that impressive on paper, it’s actually far less awkward than a lot of the competitor’s kitchen sinks.
Something else you might like about the 2021 Keystone Springdale 189FLWE is the large fresh, gray, and black water storage tanks.
They are large enough to support a family of four or five for several days of boondocking off the grid, before having to resupply or travel to an RV dump station.
The bathroom in the rear has a toilet and a shower, bathtub combo that is deep enough to bathe a small child.
Though the bathroom sink is oddly positioned outside of the bathroom door, which can be a little bit of an issue when you want to wash your hands after using the lavatory.
8. Forest River Flagstaff Shamrock 183
- Dry Weight of 4,179 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 1,581 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 480 lbs.
- Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 58.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 30.0 gallons
- Black Water Tank Capacity of 30.0 gallons
- Sleeps up to 8 people
The Forest River – Flagstaff Shamrock 183 uses a popup camper bed concept to maximize the interior living space.
Each of the three twin beds manually slides out of the frame in a heavy-duty canvas enclosure.
Each has a fair amount of storage right at the bedside for people to store their personal items.
The dinette table also converts into a double bed. This means that the 2019 Forest River – Flagstaff Shamrock 183 can technically sleep up to 8 people “On Paper.” Though in the real world 4 adults or two adults and three children are more feasible.
Of course, putting the sleeping areas outside of the main travel trailer frame also means that you have a lot more interior space inside the camper for daily living.
This is definitely something you will appreciate on rainy days or nights when the bugs outdoors drive you into the camper.
The rear bathroom is spacious and includes a toile with a curved shower stall. The kitchen has a ton of storage space and even pairs a dual basin sink with a three burner stove.
There’s even a gas grill you can attach outside for times when you want to cook a meal without competing with the powerful 13,500 BTU air conditioner.
Though if there is a complaint with the layout of the 2019 Forest River – Flagstaff Shamrock 183 it’s the placement of the entertainment center.
The only place with a truly clear and comfortable view of the TV screen is to stand in front of the kitchen sink and RV refrigerator.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will double sheets fit on an rv twin bed mattress.
Fitted sheets and RV mattresses have long failed to see eye to eye, and this rings true with a lot of the twin mattresses we reviewed.
The best way to keep a double fitted sheet confidently attached on a non-standard mattress is to use sheet corner clips.
Can A Small Travel Trailer Be Towed By An SUV?
Some of the lighter travel trailers with twin beds that we reviewed were light enough to be towed by a robust mid-size SUV with a tow package.
For example, the highest trim level of the popular Ford Explorer, with a tow package option installed can tow up to 4,500-pounds.
Though you will want to double-check the weight specifications of your trailer and compare them to the specs of any intended tow vehicle, before you sign on the dotted line.
There are certainly a lot of great travel trailers with twin beds on the market today. Finding the one that is right for you, starts with identifying how many people you need to sleep with.
Most people will only sleep one person to a twin mattress. This can be a little bit troublesome when you see the manufacturer talking about the “Sleeps” number, which is typically always higher than what you will actually be sleeping in the real world.
Once you have your sleep numbers dialed in, you can start thinking about other priorities.
This includes things like the size of the storage tanks for boondocking families, or the depth of the bathtub, for a family who needs to bathe small children.
If you like to camp off the grid for several days at a time, the best travel trailer with twin beds for you might be the 2021 Keystone Springdale 189FLWE.
It certainly has the large water storage tanks to support you for days at a time, and the sleeping space to accommodate most modern-day families.
If you are looking for a lightweight travel trailer and can be towed behind a mid-size SUV , then the Jayco – Jay Flight SLX 154BH might be the best travel trailer with twin beds for the money.
It’s a great setup for a single parent who wants to travel and camp with two children.
Whatever your particular needs and interests, chances are good that the best travel trailer with twin beds for you, can be found somewhere on this list.

Casita Trailer Pricing Guide: All Models Included
Are you thinking about buying a Casita trailer but not sure what they cost?
If so, you’re in the right place, because in this blog post we provide a complete cost breakdown of the entire Casita trailer lineup.
By providing the pricing for all five Casita models as well as what affects their pricing.
Plus, we also provide a brief review and walkthrough of each model.
So that you can better understand the differences between each model to know which one might be the best fit for you and your family.
How Much Does a Casita Trailer Cost?
Regardless of the model, all Casita trailers—including the Spirit, Independence, Heritage, Freedom, and Liberty—have the same starting price of either $30,996 or $32,694.
Which is impacted by the version of the trailer, as every Casita is available in either a standard or deluxe version.
Casita Spirit
Quick Specs
- Starting Price : $30,996 / $32,694
- Length : 17 Feet
- Dry Weight : 2,210 – 2,480 Pounds
- Sleeping Capacity : 3 – 5 (Depending On Version)
- Bathroom : 3-Piece Wet Bath (Deluxe Version Only)
The Casita Spirit, which is often referred to as the classic Casita , offers one of the most well-rounded family-friendly floorplans that Casita makes.
As the Spirit offers two separate dinette booths, that can be converted into sleeping berths, providing convertible sleeping space for up the three people.
Casita Spirit Floorplans
This isn’t the only potential sleeping accommodation in the trailer though, because the Casita Spirit, like all Casita models, is available in both a standard and deluxe version.
And one of the biggest differences between these two versions is how the front of the trailer is laid out.
As the Spirit Deluxe offers a full three-piece wet bath with a small sink, shower, and toilet.
While the Spirit Standard offers front bunk beds, bringing the total sleeping capacity up to five.
Regardless of which version you choose though, the Casita Spirit makes a great choice for families looking for a small lightweight travel trailer that is both versatile as well as practical.

Casita Independence
- Sleeping Capacity : 2 – 4 (Depending On Version)
Like the Casita Spirit from above, the Casita Independence is offered in both a standard and deluxe version.
Which dictates whether the trailer has front bunk beds and sleeping for four, or a front three-piece wet bath and sleeping for two.
A difference though between the Spirit and Independence is that the Independence offers two north-to-south permanent twin beds in the rear as opposed to a convertible dinette booth.
Casita Independence Floorplans
But that’s not the only layout difference between these two Casita models.
As the Independence model, due in large part to its north-to-south twin bed design, offers no dining or eating space inside the trailer.
Which might be a deal breaker for some, as it can make eating inside the trailer kind of awkward.
Also, with the Casita Independence lacking any sort of table you might find yourself relying on the beds to provide counter space when needed.
As there are very few flat surfaces in the Independence to set things on, due to the lack of a dinette table.
However, with all that being said, if you’re looking for twin beds or a bed that’s easier to get in and out of, the Casita Independence might be the right choice for you.
As the Independence is the only Casita model that offers a permanent twin-bed layout .

Casita Heritage
- Sleeping Capacity : 4 – 6 (Depending On Version)
At first glance, it might appear that the Casita Spirit from above and the Casita Heritage share the same floor plan.
However, upon closer inspection, there is one key difference between these two very similar models.
And that’s the difference in sleeping capacity between the Spirit and the Heritage.
As the Heritage is able to offer one additional sleeping space in both the standard and deluxe versions compared to the Spirit.
Casita Heritage Floorplans
Bringing the total sleeping capacity of the Casita Heritage to either four or six depending on whether you opt for the standard or deluxe version of the trailer.
Which is the highest sleeping capacity offered on a Casita travel trailer .
But just how does the Heritage model manage to squeak out another sleeping spot in a trailer that has the exact same dimensions and general layout as the Spirit?
The answer is that Casita Heritage offers bunk beds in place of the side dinette booth found on the Spirit.
This means that not only does the Casita Heritage have two sets of bunk beds in the standard version but also that the trailer is able to offer a four-person sleeping capacity even if you opt for the deluxe version, which deletes the front bunk beds for a wet bath.
Because of this, the Casita Heritage makes a great choice for a family of four that needs a four-person sleeping capacity but doesn’t want to give up the convenience of having a built-in bathroom .

Casita Freedom
While the Casita Freedom does offer a four-person sleeping capacity in the standard version, the deluxe version of the Freedom is where this model really shines.
As the Casita Freedom Deluxe makes the ultimate small lightweight couples trailer , thanks to the trailer’s rear dinette booth/double bed, full-featured mid-galley, two caption swivel chairs, and front full three-piece wet bath.
Casita Freedom Floorplans
Making the Freedom Deluxe perfect for couples who like to travel with all the comforts of home.
Plus, because the two captain swivel chairs have a built-in table between them, it allows the seating area to be used as a makeshift dinette booth.
Allowing you to leave the rear dinette booth/double bed as a permanent bed, which is far more convenient while camping and traveling.
For more information on the Casita Freedom Deluxe and to see a 360-degree view of the interior, check out Casita’s website by clicking here .
Casita Liberty
The Casita Liberty offers the same front layout as every other Casita model with either bunk beds in the standard version or a wet bath in the deluxe version.
Where this model really stands out though is in its rear layout.
As the Liberty offers one of the most flexible and convertible rear layouts out of all the Casita models .
Allowing the space to be used as a four-person dinette booth/double bed with extra seating or as one large king-size bed that measures 82 inches long by 76 inches wide.
Casita Liberty Floorplans
Regardless of its configuration though, the Liberty, like all Casita models, offers a well-equipped kitchenette, a good amount of storage, and lots of creature comforts.

What Affects the Cost of a Casita Travel Trailer?
As mentioned above, one of the biggest factors that can impact the cost of a Casita trailer is its version .
As the deluxe version of the trailer regardless of which model you choose has a starting price that’s $1,698 more compared to the standard version.
For that extra $1,698 though, you get a three-piece wet bath with a combined shower, toilet, and bathroom vanity as well as a standard air conditioner.
However, the version of the camper isn’t the only thing that can impact the price of a Casita trailer.
Because, while all Casitas come well-equipped with numerous standard features, including marine-grade two-piece fiberglass construction, versatile sleeping accommodations, and a full-functioning galley, there are also many optional features that can add additional cost to the trailer .

As you can see below from actual listings of used Casita trailers for sale on rvtrader.com at the time of this writing.

How Does the Casita Trailer Price Compare to Other Molded Fiberglass Campers?
The cost of a Casita trailer like all molded fiberglass campers can vary depending on its model, version, and options.
In general, though, the cost of a Casita trailer tends to be towards the middle when it comes to pricing for a molded fiberglass camper, costing more than a Scamp trailer but less than an Oliver trailer, as you can see below.
Are Casita Trailers Worth it?
Whether or not Casita trailers are worth it depends on your individual needs and circumstances.
As Casita trailers use an all-fiberglass non-stick frame construction, which makes the trailers much lighter compared to more traditional stick-frame RVs .
Because of this, they tend to be a popular choice for people who enjoy traveling and camping in small, lightweight trailers or who have a more limited tow vehicle, such as a small SUV or a 4-cylinder .
In addition, Casita trailers are often praised for their durability, longevity, high-quality construction, and easy towing .
However, they may not be the best choice for everyone.
As one potential drawback of the Casita is that they tend to be more expensive compared to other types of trailers .
Because of this, you need to weigh the added cost against the benefits that a Casita trailer provides.
Additionally, when it comes to travel trailers, Casitas tend to be on the smaller side, as they’re only 17 feet in length and just under 7 feet wide.
Because of this, they don’t have as much interior or storage space as larger trailers .
So it’s also important to figure out how much interior and storage space you need in a travel trailer.
If you’re looking for a small lightweight easy to tow camper though, that a variety of vehicles can tow, then the Casita trailer should definitely be on your shortlist .
How to Buy a Casita Trailer
Like other molded fiberglass campers, the buying process for a Casita trailer is a little different compared to the more traditional RV buying process.
Because while large RV manufacturers like Forest River, Thor, Coachmen, and Airstream sell their RVs through dealer networks, much like the auto industry, Casita uses a direct-to-consumer approach, by selling their trailers directly to the customer without a dealership middleman .
Which has both advantages and disadvantages.
Because while you don’t have to deal with pushy or unknowledgeable RV salespeople using this approach, it can also make viewing the trailer more challenging and the buying process more cumbersome.
To illustrate this point let’s take a look at the typical buying process for a new Casita trailer.
Step-By-Step Buying Process
- Step 1 : Perform initial research on the Casita trailer by learning about the different models, pricing, specs, and available features on their website at www.casitatraveltrailers.com .
- Step 2 : View a Casita trailer in person by either visiting their showroom at 5029 SE McKinney in Rice, Texas, or by using the Casita Discovery Progam, which connects you with local Casita owners in your area that are willing to answer questions and show you their personal Casita trailer.
- Step 3 : Order the trailer by calling Casita at 1-800-442-9986 to speak with one of their sales reps that will walk you through the ordering and financing process if needed.
- Step 4 : Recieve a pick-up time and date when the Casita will be ready for pickup.
- Step 5 : On the delivery date return to the dealership in Rice Texas to pick up the trailer, which includes a full tour of the trailer, final paperwork completion, and payment via cashier’s check or wire. (Wire must be completed three days prior to pick up.)
- Step 6 : Stay at a campground close to the dealership and camp for a day or two in the trailer to make sure there are no issues before traveling home with the camper. (Not required but a good idea.)
Final Thoughts
The cost of a Casita trailer can vary greatly depending on the version, features, age, and condition of the camper.
As basic used Casita trailers cost as little as $15,000, while loaded new models can cost upwards of $40,000 or more.
So it’s important to consider your budget and needs when shopping for a Casita trailer.
Because whether you’re looking for a simple and economical option or a fully loaded and luxurious model, there is a Casita trailer out there to fit your needs and budget.
