Day 1 - Cochin : Arrive Cochin international airport / railway station and proceed to KTDC Bolgatty Palace Resort in Cochin, which is around 33 KM away and approximate travel time is 46 minutes. Enjoy your lunch and after noon go for half day sightseeing tour in cochin. The cochin sightseeing itinerary includes Fort Kochi, Cherai Beach, Church of Saint Francis, Kochi, Hill Palace Museum, Paradesi Synagogue etc.

Day 2 - Munnar : Enjoy your breakfast from KTDC Bolgatty Palace and proceed to Munnar, which is around 120 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours and 30 minutes. On the way you can enjoy the beauty of Neriamangalam bridge which is built in 1935. The other sightseeing on the way to Munnar from cochin are Cheeyappara & Valara waterfalls, Karadipara view point etc. Check in the KTDC Tea County Resort and relax for the day.

Day 3 - Munnar : After breakfast, proceed for Munnar full day sightseeing. You can visit Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Anamudi, Pothamedu View Point, The Blossom International Park, Tea Museum, Attukad Waterfalls, Top Station, Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, Photo point, Lockhart Gap View, Chokramudi Peak, Munnar View Point etc. Evening back to resort and enjoy campfire and delicious dinner.

Day 4 - Thekkady : Enjoy your breakfast from Munnar resort and proceed to Thekkady, which is 85 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours. On arrival at Thekkady, check in the KTDC Lake Palace Resort, enjoy your lunch and relax. Afternoon proceed for Periyar lake boating. Periyar lake boating online booking is possible through KTDC website. If time permits, go for Thekkady plantation tour and back to resort late evening.

Day 5 - Kumarakom : Enjoy delicious breakfast from Thekkady hotel and proceed to Kumarakom, which is 121 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Check in the KTDC Waterscapes and enjoy the delicious sea food lunch. Relax for some time around resort premises and evening go for a short boat trip through Vembanad lake Kumarakom. During the trip you can enjoy sun set and beauty of lake.

Day 6 - Alleppey Houseboat : Enjoy your delicious breakfast from Kumarakom resort checkout and proceed to Kumarakom bird sanctuary. Around 11.30 AM proceed to Alleppey houseboat which is 35 KM away and approximate travel time is 30 minutes. Check in the houseboat around 12 noon. Now its the time for relaxation and enjoyment. Around 1.30 PM, delicious lunch will be served in the Alleppey houseboat.

Day 7 - Kovalam Beach : One hour house boat cruise in the morning, have your breakfast and proceed to Kovalam Beach as per your preference. Kovalam is 162 KM away and travel time is 4 hours. Poovar beach is 176 KM away and travel time is 4.20 hours.

Day 8 - Kovalam Beach : Get up early in the morning and enjoy the beauty of the sunrise on the beach and back to the hotel for your breakfast. About Kerala Tourism Development Corporation

A Government of Kerala Public Sector Undertaking, the KTDC or Kerala Tourism Development Corporation is the chief agency that promotes and controls all activities related to tourism in the state. The headquarters of KTDC are located in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala and there are offices of the corporations in all district headquarters of the state.

With the catch phrase of the corporation being "Official hosts to God's own country." Kerala Tourism Development Corporation has succeeded immensely in developing tourism as the primary industry of Kerala. The KTDC brand is now established and under this brand is operating a chain of hotels, rest houses and holiday resorts in tourist hotspots that can meet the needs of the domestic as well international travelers of all categories.

In the 1960s and even in the early 1970s, India was not in the international tourists’ agenda and much less known to tourists was the southernmost state of Kerala.

The prince of the erstwhile state of Travancore; H.H. Col. Goda Varma Raja was the first to recognize the tourism potential of the area and created the company Kerala Tours Ltd. which began the work of creating tourist infrastructure in the main potential tourist spots. After the princely state of Travancore became the state of Travancore- Cochin after Independence and further became the state of Kerala in 1956, key tourist company; Kerala Tours Ltd. (KTL) became a private enterprise belonging to the erstwhile royal family of Travancore. For nearly two decades after independence, the Kerala Government did not give much importance to tourism nor was there much done to develop the Tourism department.

It was only after the success of KTL which had by then developed Kovalam and put it firmly on the tourist map with the help of Thomas Cook, that the government saw the need to create a new body that would promote tourism in the state. The KTDC or Kerala Tourism Development Corporation was thus created in 1966 which began as the tourist department of the government and became a distinct business entity in the 1970.
