2024 European Open final results: Prize money payout, DP World Tour leaderboard, how much each golfer won

The 2024 European Open final leaderboard is headed by winner Laurie Canter, who topped the DP World Tour leaderboard this week with a win at Green Eagle Golf Courses in Hamburg, Germany.

Canter won on the DP World Tour for the first time in his career, earning a two-shot win over Thriston Lawrence and Bernd Wiesberger, finishing on 13-under 279 on the par-73 host course.

Niklas Norgaard had another close call on tour, finishing in a tie for fourth place with Julien Guerrier and a shot behind the co-runners-up.

Canter won the €392,765.45 winner's share of the $2,500,000 purse.

European Open recap notes

Canter earned 19.6 Official World Golf Ranking points with the win, with the minimum point schedule removed from the Official World Golf Ranking.

There was a 36-hole cut, with 70 of 156 starting players finishing the event in the 22nd completed event of the season.

Canter earned 500 Race to Dubai points as a DP World Tour member, with its season-long Race to Dubai points race well underway for 2023-2024. He also earned a spot in the PGA Championship through the DP World Tour points standings.

The 2024 European Tour schedule continues next week with the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed .

Matt Fitzpatrick secured a seventh European Tour title with a three-shot victory in a thrilling finish at the Estrella Damm N.A Andalucia Masters.

The Englishman overturned a three-stroke deficit on the final day at Valderrama, opening with 15 consecutive pars and birdieing two of his last three holes to post a bogey-free 69 and the week on six under.

Fitzpatrick trailed for large periods but took advantage of Sebastian Soderberg dropping three shots over his closing two holes, with the Swede finishing in tied-second on three under alongside Min Woo Lee, while overnight leader Laurie Canter's hopes faded with a final-round 76.

"It's on the bucket list to win round Valderrama with the history that it has," Fitzpatrick said. "To do it bogey-free on Sunday as well is extra special. It's amazing, particularly the way I did It - very patient all day, didn't try to press anything, stuck to our targets and managed to hole the putts at the end. I'm delighted with the win."

Canter started the day with a three-shot lead but saw his lead cut to one when Soderberg followed a close-range birdie at the second by holing from 10 feet at the next and then making a 15-foot eagle at the par-five fourth.

The Englishman picked up a close-range birdie at the fifth but followed a three-putt double-bogey at the par-five sixth with another three-putt bogey at the seventh, seeing him lose his overnight lead, only to reach the turn level with Soderberg when the Swede bogey the seventh.

Soderberg picked up a birdie at the 11th and made a 10-footer to save par at the next, where Canter dropped a shot after finding sand off the tee, before cancelling out a bogey at the 13th by converting from five feet at the 15th to give himself a two-shot advantage.

The tournament was blown wide open as Soderberg lost his ball into trees at the par-five 17th and three-putted from off the green for a double-bogey, dropping him back to four under alongside Canter and Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick ended his run of 15 pars with a 10-foot birdie at the 16th, where Canter dropped a shot after a wayward tee shot, while Soderberg's hopes ended when he failed to get up and down from the rough to save par at the last.

Canter found the water with his approach into the par-five 17th and carded a second successive bogey, as Fitzpatrick pitched to six feet and made another birdie to take a three-shot cushion to the final hole.

Fitzpatrick finished short of the green with his approach but was able to salvage a par and close a blemish-free winning round, as Canter also made a four to end the week in a seven-way tie for fourth.

Victory is Fitzpatrick's first of the season and moves him up to fifth in the Race to Dubai standings, with the win also set to move the Englishman back inside the world's top 25.

Akshay Bhatia, Aaron Rai atop tight Rocket Mortgage

DETROIT -- Akshay Bhatia and Aaron Rai each shot 4-under 68 on Saturday to reach 17 under through three rounds and share the lead for the second straight day at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Cam Davis (66) and Cameron Young (67) were a shot back at soggy and windy Detroit Golf Club. Sam Stevens (66) and Erik van Rooyen (68) were another stroke back.

Amateur Luke Clanton (65), Min Woo Lee (66) and Joel Dahmen (68) were three shots behind the leaders, entering the final round Sunday.

The third round started a couple of hours later than scheduled and threesomes went off both the front and back nine because more than an inch of rain soaked the course, leaving standing water in the fairways and large puddles in areas of the rough.

The soggy conditions allowed players to lift, clean and place their golf balls in the fairways. Players did not get relief from the wind that gusted up to 25 mph.

Rai had a tiebreaking birdie on the par-3 11th and held a one-shot lead until he had his first bogey of the tournament on the par-3 15th, missing a 12-foot putt to fall back into a tie.

Bhatia, the only player in the field without a bogey, followed with a 7-foot putt for par on the same hole.

While Bhatia and Rai slowed down as the sun started to set and shadows blanketed the course, Young surged into a three-way tie at the par-5 17th with his third birdie in four holes.

Young shot a 59 last Saturday at the Travelers Championship, the first player to pull off that feat since Scottie Scheffler did it during the 2020 FedExCup Playoffs.

Davis, who won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2021 at 18 under, made it a four-way tie atop the leaderboard with a slow-rolling 8-footer to close with his fourth birdie in five holes.

Bhatia and Rai both birdied 17, turning a four-way tie into a two-way at 17 under and they both parred the final hole.

Will Zalatoris , who entered the tournament ranked No. 44, withdrew because of a back injury after playing eight holes in 3 over Saturday.
