The First Christmas: Drive-Thru Living Nativity

Each Advent season The Worship Center presents a gift to our community with The First Christmas drive-thru living nativity. The twelfth annual event opens December 2020 on the grounds of Hylton Memorial Chapel.

In what continues to be one of the region’s favorite Christmas destinations, this family-friendly, live drama recreates pivotal moments surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ in vivid detail with stunning effects, cast, ornately crafted costumes, and elaborately decorated sets. Camels and other animals add life filling the panoramic six-scene narrative of the near 100 mile journey Mary and Joseph experienced leading to Bethlehem where God entered the world as a baby. The production includes favorite songs of the Christmas season.

Voted 2019 Best of Prince William by InsideNoVa, The First Christmas is preparing for the anticipated attraction of visits representing individuals, families, groups, and buses. The drive-thru event also has generous parking so the viewer can walk scene from scene through Gabriel’s announcement to the Virgin Mary, the marketplace in Bethlehem, the innkeeper’s dilemma, the shepherds keeping watch in the field, the Herald Angel, the Magi’s trip by camel, and the grand finale at the manger.

It continues to be a great “tag-team” effort featuring America’s premier Christian historian, David, and one of America’s foremost authorities on the faith vote, Chad.

Plan Your Visit

Visit one of our Sunday or Wednesday experiences where you will find a friendly environment where everyone is welcomed.

Our services usually run about 1 hour and 15 minutes long. We promise to honor your time – we know it’s valuable! Together, we will experience life-giving worship, encouraging stories and testimonies, and a powerful message.

Kids are welcome here at Christ Chapel, and we have programs for kids of all ages throughout our mornings that run at the same time as our adult services.  When you arrive, be on the lookout for CCKids banners in our lobby, and one of our volunteers or staff will be happy to take you to the correct location. 

Our Services begin at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM every Sunday.  We will offer an additional Sunrise Service only on Easter Sunday at 6:30 AM. It’s best to arrive a few minutes early to find your seat and prepare for service.  Our doors are never close to our community, so it’s not an issue, even if you are a little late! Our volunteers will be happy to help you find a seat.

Come as you are! We don’t have a dress code at Christ Chapel, so as long as you’re dressed appropriately and comfortably, you’ll be fine.
