Na Young Seok PD address the future of 'New Journey to the West' amid production delays

Renowned producer Na Young Seok addressed fans regarding the upcoming season of the popular TV show, ‘ New Journey to the West ’ during a live broadcast on the afternoon of October 24 KST.  Attending the broadcast alongside Na PD were writer Choi Jae Young and P.O. Recently discharged from the Marine Corps, P.O greeted viewers with a radiant smile and shared his current status as well as anecdotes from his military life. Observing the multitude of comments from the audience, P.O unveiled some that asked, “ When are you doing New Journey to the West? ” In response, Na PD expressed, " I understand that many of you have been eagerly awaiting 'New Journey to the West'. However, due to a mix of reasons, we were unable to proceed. " He added that some of the complications included the cast members’ military enlistments, instances of COVID-19, and schedule clashes, among other undisclosed issues. Nonetheless, he assured viewers of the strong bonds between the cast members. Members including P.O, Kang Ho Dong , Lee Soo Geun , Eun Ji Won , Kyuhyun , and Ahn Jae Hyun remain closely knit, he stated, adding that they still consider each other as family. Producer Na concluded by stating, " There's no conflict among us. We all get along well and are considering the program as a possibility open for further discussion ." The eighth season of tvN 's 'New Journey to the West’, which aired from October to December 2020, concluded with a teaser for the ninth season, heightening fan anticipation for a 2021 release. However, a live session held in October 2021, communicated that filming had been postponed due to COVID-19 and scheduled for 2022 instead. However, the subsequent military enlistment of P.O, service commitment of Song Min Ho as a social worker, and other scheduling conflicts intensified the uncertainty around the production of 'New Journey to the West 9'.  Despite these hurdles, Na PD reassured fans that there was no internal discord among the cast and hinted that 'New Journey to the West 9' may resume production in the future.

The New Legends Of Monkey Season 3 - Will It Ever Happen?

"Journey to the West" rivals the King Arthur legend as one of the most adapted stories of all time. The 16th century Chinese story is one of the "Four Great Classic Novels of Chinese Literature" and has inspired everything from cheesy '80s dubs to the "Dragon Ball" franchise. The latest adaptation of this classic story is "The New Legends of Monkey ," an Australian/New Zealand/Netflix production. Two seasons of the family-friendly adventure series have already been released, and fans gleefully anticipate a third.

"The New Legends of Monkey" is also a loose adaptation of the classic '70s/'80s Japanese show, known in the West as "Monkey Magic ," or sometimes simply as "Monkey." It's notorious for its corny dubbing, which ironically led to it becoming a cult hit in the English-speaking world, per The Telegraph . "Monkey" ran for two seasons in Japan, then re-ran in syndication in predominantly English markets for years afterward. It even was name-checked in "Spaced," the TV show which first saw Edgar Wright team up with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. "The New Legends of Monkey" is set to potentially outlast the show that inspired it. Although a third season has yet to be announced, Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger. That indicates that at least creative staff have faith the show will be renewed. Here's everything we can expect from a Season 3 of "The New Legends of Monkey" — if and when it ever arrives.

Why isn't The New Legends of Monkey Season 3 happening yet?

Seasons 1 and 2 of "The New Legends of Monkey" shot primarily in New Zealand, where the COVID-19 outbreak has been almost entirely contained for some time. Film and television production resumed relatively quickly in the country, as discussed on the April 13, 2021 episode of " The Tonight Show ." While other shows have had to postpone productions, "The New Legends of Monkey" can bask in the glow of national health. This means that the "Monkey" crew could have ramped up production on Season 3 as soon as the three networks in charge of the show give the official go-ahead. To get three different entities on board is a complicated and timely endeavor, however, particularly during a pandemic. And any momentum could also have come to a halt due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild strikes of 2023.

"Monkey" is a co-venture by Australia's ABC, New Zealand's TVNZ 2, and Netflix. Netflix is known for hastily giving shows the ax, even when storylines aren't wrapped up. However, the international appeal of "The New Legends of Monkey" is a big check in the show's favor. Per The Verge , Netflix is always looking toward global expansion, so any show with an international audience has a good shot at renewal.

What could be explored in The New Legends of Monkey Season 3?

"The New Legends of Monkey" tells the story of Tripitaka, a girl posing as a monk who is trying to free her homeland of demon rule. She frees Monkey from where he's been sealed away for hundreds of years, and the two join forces with two more gods to defeat the hordes of demons ruling Jade Mountain. Season 2 of "The New Legends of Monkey" ended with both Monkey and the Demon Queen Hakuru being reborn. Monkey had killed Hakuru centuries before the show began, but she was reborn into the body of innkeeper Monica. Played by Rachel House of "Thor Ragnarok," Demon Queen Hakuru/Monica is set to be Season 3's major antagonist.

The plot of "The New Legends of Monkey" is loosely adapted from "Journey to the West,"a novel about the many adventures of Tripitaka, Pigsy, Sandy, and the Monkey King. The novel ends with the four reaching India, where they study Buddhism with the eventual plan of bringing it back to China. Aspects of the novel have been spread over the two extant seasons, but there's a reason the Monkey King is the breakout character in "Journey to the West." And that character still has a lot of story to tell. 

Who would star in The New Legends of Monkey Season 3?

Presumably, the core cast of the series' first two seasons would return for a third go-around. "The New Legends of Monkey" stars Luciane Buchanan as Tripitaka, a woman hiding out by dressing as a monk. Buchanan starred in the New Zealand dramedy "Filthy Rich" before joining the "Monkey" cast. Tripitaka is escorted by two gods — Josh Thomson as boorish pig god Pigsy and Emilie Cocquerel as Sandy — as well as the titular Monkey King, played by Chai Hansen. Thomson is primarily known as a comedian in New Zealand, working as a panelist on "The Project." Cocquerel played Queen Alianor on the Dutch-British Netflix co-production "The Letter for the King."

Chai Hansen may be familiar to American audiences as Ilian on "The 100 ." Ilian was a Grounder that killed his entire family when rogue AI A.L.I.E. commanded him to via an ingested microchip. He appeared as Octavia Blake's foe-turned-love-interest in Season 4. Hansen also appeared on season 3 of "Shadowhunters,"  as werewolf Jordan Kyle. Before that, he starred in "Mako Mermaids ," a spinoff of "H20: Just Add Water," for Australian Nickelodeon.

Where to watch previous seasons of The New Legends of Monkey

A show with global reach and popularity, thanks to the enduring fan devotion of the Japanese show and inspiration "Monkey," "The New Legends of Monkey" is also the result of a collaboration between international entities. Australia's ABC television broadcast network, New Zealand's TVNZ 2, and U.S.-based streaming company Netflix all helped bring the first two seasons of the series to TV screens around the globe. Marketed as a Netflix original in North America, "The New Legends of Monkey"  — both Season 1 and Season 2 — is available with a subscription to the streaming platform, in both its "Basic" and costlier tiers. And while the show was made in association with terrestrial TV networks, "The New Legends of Monkey" is nevertheless a streaming-only series in Australia . Both Season 1 and Season 2 are available locally on Netflix, while TVNZ 2 debuted the series on its platforms in New Zealand.

As the TV drama centers around Kat Landry ( Chyler Leigh ), her mother Del ( Andie MacDowell ) and her daughter Alice Dhawan ( Sadie Laflamme-Snow ) trying to find out where Kat's missing brother Jacob went in her childhood, Kat's surprise time jump to 1814 delivered the ultimate surprise — her sibling is still alive! In fact, adult Jacob ( Spencer Macpherson ) has gone through quite a lot, and isn't entirely sure about going back to the future with his sister. Is there a season 3 of The Way Home ?

In a surprise announcement made by Deadline on March 20, Hallmark announced The Way Home had been renewed for season 3. According to the outlet, the drama is the "No. 1 most-watched program overall on entertainment cable among homes, viewers and women and persons 18+," giving no doubt for the network to continue the series.

"Once again, our cast, writers and entire crew have used their impressive talents to create a story that is just as compelling and addictive as the first season," said Lisa Hamilton Daly , EVP Programming at Hallmark Media in a statement to the publication. "We’re grateful to the fans who are so passionate about the series and can’t wait for them to see what and when is ahead for Season 3."

If that wasn't enough, the network dropped the news in a joint Instagram post with Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow and Evan Williams ... along with a key detail about when new episodes will premiere. "#BREAKING! The moment you’ve been waiting for is here!" read the caption. "#TheWayHome Season 3 is coming in 2025!"

Naturally, fans were ecstatic that more installments of The Way Home were on the way. "YES YES YES !!! Such amazing news and SOOOOO well deserved. What a great show," one person exclaimed in the comments. "👏👏👏 Thrilled to learn this! Thank you!!!! 🥰💖," another rejoiced. "👏👏👏 The best series that Hallmark has ever produced!!!" a different viewer declared.

Like most Hallmark shows, plans for the storyline of The Way Home season 3 are being kept close to the vest. But in an interview with Us Weekly about Kat and Elliot's building romantic connection, Evan commented how he thinks the two are eventually going to be endgame.

"The thing we love about the show is that audiences know that they can expect the unexpected," he told the outlet in March. "We’re giving it everything we’ve got. I think we’re trying to play the love that is worth it."

Chyler noted in the same interview that while Kat and Elliot do have something brewing, the road to romance may take a little while. "I don’t think anything’s going to happen in the way of her feelings [for Elliot]. I think it’s just a matter of timing," she added. "It’s like when you do have that love of your life [come into] your life, once you feel it, you can’t not feel it. It just changes."

Season 3 will premiere in two parts

It's about to get steamy and scandalous at the ton. More than a year and a half after Bridgerton Season 2 premiered, we've finally gotten word from Lady Whistledown that a new season is right around the corner. But things might be a tad more complicated this time around, since the columnist herself is the focus of Bridgerton Season 3. That's right: The next chapter of the series will be all about the romance between Penelope Featherington ( Nicola Coughlan ) and Colin Bridgerton ( Luke Newton ).

By the end of Season 2, Eloise Bridgerton ( Claudia Jessie ) and Penelope's friendship was on the rocks after Eloise realized Penelope was the one publishing a gossip column about the scandals in her family. To add to the tension, Eloise's blossoming relationship with Theo ( Calam Lynch ) was shattered, and Penelope's crush on Colin was dashed to pieces as well.

We did, at least, see a happy ending for Viscount Anthony ( Jonathan Bailey ) and the beautiful Kate Sharma ( Simone Ashley ), who found love despite constantly butting heads in their tumultuous courtship. It's been confirmed that we will be seeing more of this love story in Season 3, but not every cast member from the first two seasons will return.

On March 20, Netflix released a new sneak peek at Anthony and Kate sharing a dance in Season 3, and it looks like married life has been good to them. Check out more clips from Season 3 below.

Bridgerton  Season 3 release date

In December 2023, Netflix announced Bridgerton Season 3 will be released in two parts: The first will launch on May 16, 2024, while the second will launch on June 13, 2024.

A full trailer for Bridgerton Season 3 has not been released yet, but Netflix has released plenty of other clips and videos to make the wait easier to bear.

On Feb. 14, Netflix celebrated Valentine's Day by releasing a new clip from Bridgerton Season 3, but it's not quite the kind of romantic or dreamy video you might be expecting. In the clip, Penelope confronts Colin about the conversation she overheard last season — about how he would never court her. "I am the laughingstock of the ton, even when I change my entire wardrobe," Pen says. "It just never occurred to me that you, of all people, could be so cruel." 

On Feb. 1, in  a video announcing what's coming to Netflix in 2024 , Bridgerton fans were treated to a preview of an intimate moment between Penelope and Colin. "Your eyes are the most remarkable shade of blue," Penelope whispers before nervously glancing away. "I might say something like that if you were a suitor." 

The third season's premiere dates were announced in December in a video that teases the drama's return. "Gentle reader, you thought I was silenced," Julie Andrews' Lady Whistledown says in a voiceover. "But you thought wrong."

Back in September 2022, Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, and Luke Newton teased what's coming in Season 3 while making some "Bridgerton sibling portraits." Newton dished on why it has taken so long for Colin to realize that he and Penelope belong together, while Claudia made it clear that Eloise is still smarting over the fact that Penelope lied to her about Whistledown for so long. 

Coughlan had the juiciest tidbit to reveal, though, when she read a sample of the first Lady Whistledown column from the Season 3 premiere, titled "Out of the Shadows." There are a few "dazzling" candidates for the diamond of the season, but based on what Coughlan revealed, we won't be too focused on any of them.

Netflix also posted some behind-the-scenes footage from filming, which began in summer 2022. The clips show some of our favorite members of the ton getting ready to shoot Season 3.

Bridgerton Season 3 storyline

The first two seasons of the series coincided with the timeline of the books by Julia Quinn, but Netflix has confirmed that while they plan to cover each of the books in the show, Season 3 will be out of order in that sense. Season 3 will skip the third book,  An Offer From a Gentleman , which details Benedict's ( Luke Thompson ) journey for love, and instead move to book 4,  Romancing Mister Bridgerton , which focuses on Penelope and Colin's storyline. 

And for those viewers disappointed that Season 2 didn't live up to the steamy precedent set by Daphne ( Phoebe Dynevor ) and the Duke ( Regé-Jean Page ) in Season 1, Nicola Coughlan has confirmed if the show follows the book, there will be plenty of racy scenes in Season 3 — so much that the actress is considering requesting a special PG cut for her family to watch, per Digital Spy . "There's a scene in the carriage. And it's just if they're sort of arguing, and then it all gets very romantic, shall we say, but I think it will be such a good scene in the show. It terrifies me to think of filming, but I think it would be really great," Coughlan said. "So I know that it gets extremely racy in that scene. I know already stuff that's gonna happen."

"From Shondaland and new showrunner Jess Brownell,  Bridgerton  is back for its third season and finds Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it's time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope's attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly.

"Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he's disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise, who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope's growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret."

Bridgerton Season 3 cast               

Nicola Coughlan will obviously be returning as Penelope Featherington, as will her love interest Colin, ex-bff Eloise, and other Bridgerton family members. However, the role of Francesca has been recast. Hannah Dodd will replace Ruby Stokes in the role, since Stokes moved on to star in Netflix's  Lockwood & Co.  

Three new male actors have signed on for the new season:  Daniel Francis  ( Stay Close ) as Marcus Anderson,  Sam Phillips  ( The Crown ) as Lord Debling, and James Phoon ( Wreck ) as Harry Dankworth. 

Hannah New  will play the young widow Lady Tilley Arnold, who enjoys being head of her late husband's estate and all of the financial, societal, and sexual freedom that comes with it.

Phoebe Dynevor's Daphne will not appear in Season 3. Regé-Jean Page, who played the smoldering Duke of Hastings in Season 1 but left the show for Season 2, will not be returning for Season 3, either.

Season 3 won't be the last season! In April 2022,  Bridgerton was renewed for Season 4 . " Bridgerton  swept us off our feet," Bela Bajaria, Netflix's head of global TV, told Vanity Fair . She added that Netflix plans to "be in the  Bridgerton  business for a long time to come."

The series showcases their ambition, friendship, and resilience as they strive for musical stardom and compete in a prestigious musical competition. They must rise to the occasion and win something that sets them apart from the rest of the music industry.

The cast of Sound! Euphonium Season 3 includes Tomoyo Kurosawa as the voice of Kumiko Oumae, Minako Kotobuki voicing Asuka Tanaka, Ayaka Asai as Hazuki Katou, and Chika Anzai portraying Reina Kousaka, each contributing to 13 episodes.

“After swearing off music due to an incident at the middle school regional brass band competition, euphonist Kumiko Oumae enters high school hoping for a fresh start. Kumiko finds the motivation she needs to make music once more with the help of her bandmates, some of whom are new like novice tubist Hazuki Katou; veteran contrabassist Sapphire Kawashima; and band vice president and fellow euphonist Asuka Tanaka. Others are old friends, like Kumiko’s childhood friend and hornist-turned-trombonist Shuuichi Tsukamoto, and trumpeter and bandmate from middle school, Reina Kousaka.

However, in the band itself, chaos reigns supreme. Despite their intention to qualify for the national band competition, as they currently are, just competing in the local festival will be a challenge-unless the new band advisor Noboru Taki does something about it.”

Diablo 3 season 31 start date - here's when it begins and ends.

Diablo 3’s Season 31 is the second post-launch offering that focuses on bringing past themes into the spotlight between its start and end dates , allowing us to relive some of our best moments with Blizzard’s older action-RPG.

The shift away from new features happened as Diablo 4’s live service began establishing itself, but even so, Diablo 3’s Season 31 start and end dates should provide plenty of fun for players who might want to take a break from the latest entry in the series.

Diablo 3 Season 31 Release Date

Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 3’s Season 31 start date is slated to occur on April 12, 2024 at 5 PM PDT/CET/KST.

• Diablo 3 Season 31 start date: April 12, 2024
• Diablo 3 Season 31 end date: Between July 2024 and August 2024 (GameWatcher estimation)

Its end date hasn’t been revealed yet, but we expect it to arrive between July and August 2024, provided everything goes according to plan.

Diablo 3 Season 31 Theme

Diablo 3’s Season 31 theme allows us to harness the power of the Forbidden Archives as it was first introduced in Season 20 .

For the next couple of months, restrictions will be lifted from the Kanai’s Cube slots that allow us to equip three additional Legendary powers. This means that we can mix and match between their available categories, granting additional flexibility in terms of designing our builds.

Diablo 3 Season 31 Cosmetic Rewards

Regarding cosmetic rewards, we can obtain the helm and shoulders slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set and a series of portrait frames that “embody the snowy, foreboding aura of the Eternal Woods.”

The Dream of Piers pet is also available alongside the new Valor Portrait Frame and Angelic Treasure Goblin pet. These latter two rewards can be obtained by completing the Season Journey in its entirety.

Diablo 3 Season 31 Journey Rewards

Like its past counterparts, Diablo 3’s Season 31 gives players who have yet to unlock five stash tabs via the Season Journey another chance to expand their available storage space. Check out the list of the latest set of Season Journey objectives:

• Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII within five minutes.
• Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55.
• All I Do IS Win: Complete two Conquests this Season.
• Kill You: Kill Ghom at level 70 in under 30 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty.
• Money Ain’t A Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty.
• Take U There: Reach Greater Rift level 60 Solo.
• Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem.
• Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item.

Diablo 3 Season 31 Seasonal Conquest

Players aiming to secure a high spot on the leaderboards for themselves have the following Seasonal Conquests to look forward to as they uncover the secrets of the Forbidden Archives.

As their names suggest, Sprinter/Speed Racer are all about completing Diablo III’s campaign from Act I all the way to Act V at level 70 in less than one hour.

Avarice/Avaritia tasks us with reaching a 50 million gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum.

On a Good Day/I Can’t Stop can be completed by leveling three Legendary Gems to level 65.

From there, everyone who reaches Greater Rift level 75 nabs the Divinity/Lionhearted Seasonal Conquest.

Lastly, The Thrill/Superhuman challenges us with completing a Greater Rift level 45 in solo mode and without equipping any set items.

Diablo 3 Season 31 Haedrig’s Gift

Season 31 also refreshes the class sets obtained by completing specific chapters in the Season Journey. Here are the Haedrig’s Gift sets available while the Forbidden Archives theme is active once more:

NJ-born chef Britt Rescigno's second run ends on Food Network's 'Tournament of Champions'

The Season 5 finale of Food Network's "Tournament of Champions" saw New Jersey-born chef Britt Rescigno battle it out against Maneet Chauhan, who took her out of the competition last year.

Unfortunately for Rescigno, history repeated itself. She lost to Chauhan, who went on to beat semifinalist Antonia Lofaso and win this season

But on the flip side, host Guy Fieri said Rescigno will be back next season.

"(I'm) so proud of my dish, so proud of myself. I wanted this so bad," said Rescigno, who lost 86 points to 81. "But there's a reason I didn't get it, and you'll see me next year."

To get to the final four, Rescigno — an executive chef-turned-traveling supper club owner who won "Chopped" and bested Bobby Flay on Food Network's "Beat Bobby Flay" with her mother's recipe for chicken and dumplings — beat James Beard award-winning chef Jonathon Sawyer ; chef, restaurateur and "Chopped" judge Marc Murphy ; and James Beard award-winning chef and fellow Jersey native Amanda Freitag .

"Britt has had such a strong run," Chauhan said before the two began cooking. "I've been so impressed with the techniques that she's getting to the forefront, so I am worked up. This can be either one of our game."

The bracket-style cooking competition, which started in February with 32 contestants, challenges chefs to cook with randomly assigned ingredients, equipment and cooking style. The "Randomizer" challenged Rescigno and Chauhan to prepare an "interactive" dish using alligator, a squash called chayote, hay and xanthan gum.

"Do you want to know what's hard about this Randomizer? The whole thing," said Rescigno, who lives in Idaho but was raised next door to her grandparents' New Gretna restaurant, Allen's Clam Bar, and developed a following cooking in restaurants on Long Beach Island.

The chef chose to make étouffée.

"I'm taking this Randomizer to the bayou," she said. "Etouffe is a Southern dish. It's typically with rice, it uses a dark roux and this beautiful gravy. You can do crab or shrimp, and in this case, we're going to use a little bit of alligator."

Rescigno used the tenderloin portion of the alligator because "it usually has more of a seafood flavor," she said. "I want that little seafood-y nuance to my étouffée because it's typically made with seafood."

She served the dish with small glasses of chayote tomato water foam for judges Michael White, Cat Cora, Michael Mina, Lorena Garcia and Eric Ripert to sip.

"I really hope the judges get all of the nuances and techniques that I used to create this dish," she said. "It's a hug in a bowl."

Cora said Rescigno's dish was a really good effort at etouffe, and Mina liked the flavor of the alligator.

"Gator's hard to get flavor into," he said. "Nice dish."

Garcia said she wanted to see more squash in Rescigno's dish. Ripert complimented the cooking of her alligator and said "overall, it was a very good dish."

Chauhan, who judged Rescigno on "Chopped" in 2019, made fried alligator and alligator kebab tostada with chayote salsa and chayote hay sauce.

Cora called the dish "a fun party in a plate." White enjoyed the flavors of her sauce, and Ripert liked the interaction involved with pouring the sauce over the dish and spooning the components onto tostadas.

Ultimately, it was Chauhan's interactive elements that contributed to her win.
