The band’s latest tour is in support of their first album in five years, ‘Get Rollin’’ which was released in November last year.

Speaking to NME ahead of the release , frontman Kroeger said that the aim of the new record was to inspire “wonderful emotions” because “music’s supposed to be about escapism”.

Recorded during lockdown at his home studio in Vancouver, the process gave the band plenty of time and space for creativity. “With this last record, the pace was so lax: there was no hurry, no rush,” said Kroeger. “That type of vibe lends itself to creativity.”

Nickelback’s 2024 UK and European tour dates are:

MAY 16 – Glasgow, UK, OVO Hydro 20 – Manchester, UK, AO Arena 21 – London, UK, The O2 23 – Birmingham, UK, Utilita Arena 26 – Amsterdam, Netherlands, Ziggo Dome 28 – Frankfurt, Germany, Festhalle 30 – Cologne, Germany, Lanxess Arena

JUNE 1 – Zurich, Switzerland, Hallenstadion 2 – Bologna, Italy, Unipol Arena 4 – Vienna, Austria, Wiener Stadthalle 6 – Prague, Czech Republic, O2 Arena 8 – Munich, Germany, Olympiahalle

Around the release of ‘Get Rollin” last year, Kroeger joked that he was “ready for the world to hate us again” , a reference to the band’s polarising effect on music fans over the years.

However, back in May the frontman said that he thinks the hatred towards his band is “softening” .

Get Rollin' Tour 2024

Olympic hall.

Nickelback

They had taken five years to release a new studio album - until they released "Get Rollin'" at the end of 2022 and of course immediately achieved top positions in the international charts again. A massive album, loud, rousing, powerful. After their North American tour in 2023, Nickelback are finally returning to Europe for twelve concerts and will rock the Olympic Hall on 8 June 2024.

They have been one of the most influential rock groups for almost three decades, and in 2009 Billboard even named Nickelback the "most successful band of the decade". Their legendary and biggest hit "How You Remind Me" even received the "Top Rock Song of the Decade" award as the most-played song on US radio. Following the release of their tenth studio album "Get Rollin'", the quartet led by half-brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and Daniel Adair delivered a phenomenal performance on a three-month summer tour of Canada and the USA in 2023 - before finally rocking Europe again in 2024 as the continuation of their Get Rollin' World Tour: with twelve concerts in eight countries and the grand tour finale on 8 June in the Olympic Hall.

Fans can look forward to many classics from earlier years and new hits from the current album, such as the single "San Quentin". Nickelback will be supported by the Lottery Winners - the English indie band that sensationally reached number one in the British album charts in May 2023 with "Anxiety Replacement Therapy". It will be a colossal evening in the Olympic Hall, or as Nickelback announced in advance: "It's going to be a loud and heavy party."

About Nickelback

2023 Canadian Music Hall of Fame recipients, and Diamond-certified selling group Nickelback were named the “most successful rock band of the decade” by Billboard in 2009. Globally celebrated for their career defining and award-winning hits “How You Remind Me,” “Photograph,” “Far Away,” and “Rockstar,” and more, the four-piece comprised of Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, Mike Kroeger, and Daniel Adair is one of the most commercially viable and important acts of the past two decades.

Their success includes worldwide sales of more than 50-million units, solidifying their status as one of the top-selling acts of all time and the second best-selling foreign act in the U.S., in the 2000's decade, behind only The Beatles. Their inescapable and irresistible smash “How You Remind Me” was named Billboard's ‘Top Rock Song of the Decade' and was the number-one most played song on U.S. radio (any format) in the 2000's according to Nielsen Soundscan, with over 1.2 million spins.

Amongst all of these accolades, they've also been named Billboard's “Top Rock Group of the Decade” and received nine Grammy Award nominations, three American Music Awards, a World Music Award, a People's Choice Award, twelve JUNO Awards, seven MuchMusic Video Awards, and have been inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame (2007) and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame (2023).

With more than 23 chart-topping singles and fans spanning the globe, Nickelback boasts more than twelve consecutive sold-out world tours, playing to well over 10 million+ diehard and adoring fans. The band wrapped their 53 date North American leg of the Get Rollin' Tour on October 5th and most recently debuted the documentary Hate To Love: Nickelback at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.

About Lottery Winners

Lottery Winners are the working-class underdog story of the year. Their fifth studio album, Anxiety Replacement Therapy, was released on 28 April 2023 and debuted at number 1 in the UK, topping the Official UK Album Charts. It was the 5th highest selling first week album of the year, selling more copies in the UK than U2 and Miley Cyrus. The album has received worldwide critical acclaim and has connected with people in a special way.

The album tackles mental illness and ADHD in a biographical, chronological story of personal redemption. Songs like ‘Letter to Myself', a song written to 12 year old Thom after getting expelled from school and feeling like a misfit, to tell him that everything is going to work out. ‘Worry', ‘Long Way Down' and ‘Sertraline', a love song about an antidepressant, also mark the more troubling parts of the record.

As the album progresses, the mood lightens and songs like ‘Not Alone' and ‘Let Me Down' provide comfort to Thom's journey. Concluded with ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy', which poetically combines all of the other songs on the album. It truly is the band's seminal moment.

Already previously producing a wealth of star-spangled collaborations of industry greats such as Nickelback, Frank Turner, Sleeper and KT Tunstall, the Lottery Winners' latest album is setting the bar even higher, with the likes of Shaun Ryder, Boy George and once again Frank Turner gracing the record.

The band has received airtime from Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 6, Radio X, Virgin Radio, as well as record of the week and A-list on Absolute Radio. The band had a huge summer playing festival stages including four slots at Glastonbury and are currently on their biggest ever UK tour, finishing at a sold out Manchester Apollo this December.

The Canadian rockers have been whizzing around North America touring their 10th studio album of the same name and are soon heading across the pond.

The group will be stopping off at the AO Arena in Manchester as well as venues in Glasgow, London and Birmingham.

Nickelback’s European tour will kick off on Thursday 16 May 2024, with 12 cities and eight countries on their radar.

And they’ll be supported by Wigan rising stars Lottery Winners, who sadly postponed some recent gigs after receiving some ‘tragic news’.

Following the ongoing palaver with Co-op Live, Liam Gallagher has joked that he’d happily play his scheduled gigs in a Lidl if the arena still isn’t ready – at least we think he’s joking…

Wednesday night saw more shows postponed, moved to rivals AO Arena or cancelled altogether , with Manchester legends Elbow now set to be the venue’s opening act on Tuesday, 14 May.

Fingers crossed, anyway.

With Liam Gallagher having been named as one of the first acts booked to play Co-op Live last year, many are now wondering whether the venue will even by June, with the former Oasis frontman set to play four Definitely Maybe 30th-anniversary sets. That being said, he’s come up with a solution if not.

Gig in LIDL — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) May 2, 2024

Vintage LG, we’ll give him that.

Obviously a bit of a tongue-in-cheek quip at the venue being sponsored by a supermarket and convenience store chain, it could have been any other competitor that the ever-witty youngest Gallagher brother picked but it somehow made it extra funny that he chose a budget brand like Lidl.

However, with the 51-year-old already having fun with stunts like voicing the tannoys on the Metrolink last year, for instance, we wouldn’t put it past him to take this joke a little further.

Better still, not that we’re getting carried away or anything but Lidl themselves seem pretty keen on the idea too; they even spent the time to build an entire setlist for the fictional show. Fair play.

  • Richard Ashcroft says Robin Park gigs could help make Wigan ‘a focal point in music’

Can you imagine? Liam Gallagher swapping the occasional tambourine shake for beeps from a barcode scanner as he moves back and forth on the conveyor belt. We know it’s absolute nonsense and we definitely shouldn’t be even remotely considering it… BUT it’s the stuff of dreams and strange things have happened.

A lot of stranger things have happened this week alone. As for the latest with Co-op Live, the Chairman and CEO of key-backers Oak View Group, Tim Leiweke, issued a full statement sharing his “sincere apologies” and insisting that they understand “there is work to be done to rebuild your trust in us.”

With the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Peter Kay, The Black Keys and more having their gigs pulled by the venue due to numerous issues, including an air conditioning unit falling from the ceiling , fans are understandably fearful that other upcoming events could face delays or general misfortune.

Much like the venue itself, we imagine we’ll be playing catch-up on this whole saga for the foreseeable, but here’s a recap of the story so far:

The top dog at Co-op Live has issued a statement addressing the immediate future of the venue, which last night announced more high-profile event changes.

The enormous new arena out by the Etihad Stadium confirmed that Take That – who were lined up to play a whopping SEVEN shows at Co-op Live – would be moving their five May gigs across to established venue the AO Arena .

It follows the postponement of Olivia Rodrigo (Friday and Saturday), Keane (Sunday) and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (called off on Wednesday with fans already queueing outside) – not to mention Peter Kay and The Black Keys.

The Co-op Live has now said it will be taking ‘a short pause’ from events while it works to make the state-of-the-art space safe and secure for fans and artists.

Details of all the rescheduled shows, new dates and venue changes are towards the end of this article.

An independent inspection of the arena ceiling will be taking place in the next fortnight.

Earlier this week, part of an air conditioning unit fell from the ductwork in the ceiling of the bowl during A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s soundcheck, thankfully before any fans had entered the building.

The venue has apologised again, saying ‘we are aware our actions have frustrated and angered ticket holders’.

Take That is one of the acts affected by Co-op Live's delayed opening

In a statement it also said that the ‘significant impact’ on fans would be addressed and recognised, at the request of naming rights partner The Co-op Group – details on what that will look like will follow.

Tim Leiweke, Chairman and CEO of Oak View Group (which owns and operates Co-op Live), has now also released a statement offering his ‘sincere apologies’.

He said: “As many of you will know, it’s not been the smooth start we had planned for, and I know that has caused a huge amount of disruption and frustration to thousands of people.

“On behalf of all of us at Oak View Group, I’d like to express my sincere apologies to all those that have been affected. We understand that there is work to be done to rebuild your trust in us.

“This starts now and at the request of the naming rights partner, The Co-op Group, we will be addressing impact on affected ticket holders, details of which will be shared soon.

“I’d like to reiterate my sincerest apologies to everyone that has been affected by the delays around the opening of Co-op Live.

“The team here is working incredibly hard to get the building up and running, and we look forward to welcoming you to the arena from 14 May 2024.”

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Co-op Live (@thecooplive)

Co-op Live’s full statement reads: “Ticket holders and fans. Following the events that led to the cancelled A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie show on 1 May, we have decided to take a short pause to events at Co-op Live to fully ensure the safety and security of fans and artists visiting the venue.

“This time will allow for an independent inspection of all elements of the arena ceiling.

“We have worked with promoters to limit the impact on fans, keeping as many shows as possible in Manchester.”

As for the rest of Co-op Live’s opening gig programme (the next scheduled show is Elbow on 14 May), it continued: “At this time, we do not expect further impact on our opening season.

“We are aware our actions have frustrated and angered ticket holders.

“We know you’ve incurred significant disruption, and are finding a way to help make it right.

“We are taking the pause to think about the best ways to do that.

“Our naming rights partner, the Co-op Group, has also expressed the importance of ensuring that the significant impact on ticketholders is recognised and addressed, with more detail to follow soon.”

New dates and venue changes for Co-op Live’s rescheduled gigs

  • Peter Kay – original dates 23 and 24 April. Rescheduled dates 29 and 30 April. NEW DATES 23 and 24 May.
  • The Black Keys – original date 27 April. New date 15 May 2024.

Nickelback, formed in 1996 by Chad Kroeger, is an Canadian mainstream post-grunge rock band hailing from Hanna, Alberta, in Canada.

Before forming Nickelback, frontman Chad Kroeger had performed and developed his songwriting and guitar playing in cover bands across the small town of Hanna in Alberta, Canada. Fed up of the small town life and playing other people’s songs, with money borrowed from his stepfather, the musician moved to Vancouver and recorded hit first set of original material.

Before long bass-playing brother Mike Kroeger added to his talents to the band along with guitarist friend Ryan Peake and drummer Ryan Vikedal. The name Nickelback refers to Mike Kroeger’s time spent working at Starbucks where the bass player would tell his customers “Here’s your nickel back” when handing over change.

Across the nineties Nickelback released the two albums, the “Hesher” EP and the full-length “Curb” to limited commercial and critical appeal. However the release of “The State” in January 2000 highlighted the band’s intentions for mainstream success, aided by the Canadian radio stations content requirements, leading many local stations seeking out local Canadian artists. Following the album Nickelback toured relentlessly, performing over 200 shows.

With major label backing the band’s subsequent release “Silver Side Up” was a raving success, debuting at No. 2, in large due to the success of the No.1 single “How You Remind Me”. The early part of the 2000s was a period of smooth sailing for the band. In 2002 Chad Kroeger contributed the single “Hero” alongside Josey Scott of Saliva, to the soundtrack to “Spider-Man, followed by Nickelback’s next full-length “The Long Road” released in 2003. The album reached No. 6 in the chart and was led by the No. 7 hit single “Someday”. Whilst proving popular, the band came under heavy criticism for the similarity of a number of their songs.

In 2005 the band released their fifth studio album “All the Right Reasons” to much the same multi-platinum sales and Modern Rock hits including the No. 2 “Photograph”, “Savin’ Me” and “Rockstar”. The album proved to be the band’s most popular and was followed by the albums “Dark Horse” in 2008 and “Here and Now” in 2011, which was led by the singles “Bottoms Up” and “When We Stand Together”.

After issuing a their first compilation “The Best of Nickelback, Vol. 1”, their last release on Roadrunner Records, the band released their eighth studio album “No Fixed Address” featuring the radio-friendly “What Are You Waiting For?” and the politically-edged “Edge of a Revolution” in 2014.

Live reviews

I attended the Toronto Budweiser Stage concert on June 27, 2017.

I am a fan of Nickelback and have been from the start. I have all of their albums. I don't understand all of the negative publicity they get. But I guess any publicity is still publicity, so not all bad.

I have seen them once before and compared to that show, I would say this one was not as good. But it was a really good show nonetheless. I liked the mix of songs, old and new, and the lights and background screen was great.

I realize that the amphitheater does not allow for as much pyrotechnics as an indoor stadium setup, and maybe that was the reason for less than the show I saw previously, I don't know. And the last show I saw had the band really demonstrating their talent as musicians, with solos from everybody. This one was mostly just the songs as they are on the albums, with a couple of covers mixed in. I brought my boyfriend to this one, because I thought the show would impress him but it turned out I was a little underwhelmed.

I am a concert junkie and attend up to 30 concerts a year, so maybe I have too many expectations as a fan?

Anyway, I would 100% always recommend going to a Nickelback concert. They are great to see live.

So I bought tickets to Nickelback on a whim. I had a couple of their CDs and liked them so figured I would check them out. I AM SO GLAD I DID! Their performance was fantastic. They had so much energy that it reached out to the crowd and pumped us up even more. They interspersed their songs with some stories of where the idea for the song came or what was happening in their lives when they wrote a particular song (for example, the song "Photograph" and how it came about when Chad Kroeger found an old photo of Joey Moi with a champagne holder on his head) - something I love because it draws the fan deeper into the song and closer to the band. They played a good portion of the new cd out at the time but also played the songs that everyone knew...allowing the crowd to join in and even take over singing the chorus for "How You Remind Me." Chad Kroeger's voice sounded even better than it did on the album, especially during his performance of "Far Away." This concert was one of the best concerts all around that I have been to. If you haven't seen them in concert yet, what are you waiting for??

megan-timmins’s profile image

The concert/music itself was exemplary! I think the power behind the song is excellent, Chad is very relaxed with his crowd. The color and technology on the backdrop was mind boggling. I did NOT care for the warm up band, she was just too nutty, throwing her hair all over the place. I had never heard of them and don't plan on pursuing their music at all. I will say the amount of profanity on the stage is somewhat overwhelming. I had heard before about this so decided to not be so judgmental but there were some older folks around us and I felt they were uncomfortable, the F word did not need to be used in every sentence. I get these are rock stars but we are the people who buy the music and the stage presence could be tweaked a bit. I don't think making fun of individuals in the front rows is appropriate, everyone has a story and that could be a contentious issue for some!

Wish security would have the MOBS of young kids sit down!!!

Overall the music was good, it was worth the price of the ticket!

Nickelback, the band equivalent of marmite are still touring and recording with no signs of slowing down since their formation way back in 1995. The soft-rock band have had a string of US hit albums as well as a huge amount of number ones in their Canadian homeland.

Their fan base is dedicated and have continued to support the band through their whole career and continue to attend concerts in huge numbers. Nickelback performs new material such as 'She Keeps Me Up' with the same amount of energy as their hit singles such as 'Someday' and 'Animals'.

They also salute modern rock contemporaries including the Foo Fighters and Led Zepplin during their show with covers of some of the most famed music. The biggest singalong of the night is of course for 2006 international hit single 'Rockstar' where the audience proudly belt out every lyric of this gruff track. 'Remind Me' follows closely behind, a more balladic end than expected but the crowd seem pleased with the choice.

I am just a casual Nickelback fan, as I prefer my rock music a little harder and with more edge. I actually had a chance to see them back in October 2002 when they opened for Creed, but unfortunately game 4 of the World Series was on so we spent most of the show in the bar until Creed came on.

With all of that said, I went to show with an open mind and I appreciate Nickelback's catalog. I was surprised at how much fun the show was, yes I recognized most of the songs, but they were even better live. It looks like Chad and gang are having a great time on stage. I was a little surprised at how low the sound was, I almost had to take my earplugs out to hear it, I always wear them for good measure as I did too many shows as a ute without them

I enjoy the karaoke portion of the show, when they pulled up members of the audience to help do backing vocals.

Great experience and would see them again.

Bee Movie Script - Dialogue Transcript

Voila! Finally, the Bee Movie script is here for all you fans of the Jerry Seinfeld animated movie. This puppy is a transcript that was painstakingly transcribed using the screenplay and/or viewings of the movie to get the dialogue. I know, I know, I still need to get the cast names in there and all that jazz, so if you have any corrections, feel free to drop me a line. At least you'll have some Bee Movie quotes (or even a monologue or two) to annoy your coworkers with in the meantime, right?

And swing on back to Drew's Script-O-Rama afterwards -- because reading is good for your noodle. Better than Farmville, anyway.

The band themselves were amazing, the show was great. The man can sing live, and do it well.

If you can avoid seeing them at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, then do it. The Staff are rude, and argumentative they don't follow the guidlines on the website and will ruin your experience. Also don't bother getting the VIP package, I spent just shy of $400 a ticket to basically throw my money away. I got in early but that was the height of the "VIP" treatment. There was no meet and great the was no perks and the picture we paid for on stage was done on the ground a good way away.

I highly recommend if you have not seen Nickelback live to see them, it is a great show and they give 100% but don't shell out for any perks, just get basic seats.

I totally loved the show. Had tickets last yr that had cancelled, so was jazzed to get to go. The wait was totally worth it. The show was fantastic, with a thrilling light show. And they were so personable talking to the crowd the whole show and the fact that they took people from the crowd and joked, laughed with them and let them sing along with them was totally awesome. I would recommend them to everyone to see their shows. Can't wait till their next tour here. NICKELBACK TOTALLY ROCKS. They have been my favorite group for quite some time now. I am obviously a biased opinion great fan. And love the new women's tshirts. Keep on Rockin NICKELBACK. I PERSONALLY LOVE YOU GUYS.

Okay - yet wish they would have played more of their music and less talking and engaging audience. Ravinia said concert would go till 10:15 pm and they were done by 9:44 pm. Only one encore song was played and so many of their signature tunes we never heard.

For $150 paid for 2 pavilion seats we were disappointed in lack of music performed. Having audience members come on stage was fun but I wanted to hear band perform Rock

Star song without additional voices took away from the moment. Way too much chatter in between songs unless they planned to play till

Venue said they would. ☹️

Ravinia venue is amazing - wished the

Out of the half dozen or so Nickelback shows I've seen, Saturday's show at Hershey Park was by far the BEST. SHOW. EVER! The opening bands, Shaman's Harvest and Daughtery, were both great. The band sounded great as usual. However, you could really tell that the band was having a blast. The best part of the show was the extended encore, which included a spontaneous jam session with Nate & Chris (lead singers of the opening bands). Chad even flat out said, "when you can't get the singer off the stage, you know he's having fun". Thanks for another great show and keeping the audience not only entertained, but included and surprised.

"Nickelback has been such an influence on our music culture." A deep new Nickelback documentary explores their status as one of the most popular - and yet uniquely hated - rock bands of all time

Hate To Love: Nickelback is pulling no punches - and is coming to cinemas worldwide for two nights only

Nickelback 2022

A new Nickelback documentary is set to hit cinemas worldwide next month, following its successful debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Love To Hate: Nickelback explores the quartet's near-three-decade career, delving into their rise to becoming one of the world's biggest rock bands, as well as dissecting the widespread hatred and mockery they received from certain corners of the rock scene upon exploding in popularity in the early 2000s.

The film will be shown in select cinemas across the globe on March 27 and 30, with tickets for showings going on sale Thursday, February 22 at 10am ET/3pm GMT from nickelbackfilm.com  .

“Nickelback has been such an influence on our music culture throughout the years,” says Kymberli Frueh, SVP of Programming and Content Acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, who are distributing the film. “We are thrilled to bring the story of their journey to stardom and the importance of their passionate fans’ support through the decades to cinemas worldwide.”

“We are both really excited to finally share this film with the fans around the world in such a huge and special theatrical event," say Ben Jones (producer) and Leigh Brooks (director). "We think their patience will be worth the wait. It’s been a huge personal journey for us both and we thank the band too for letting us dig a little deeper than they expected!”

Nickelback themselves, meanwhile, state: "We are very excited to finally bring this film to theatres this Spring. It’s been a long road to get this project across the finish line and we must thank Ben Jones and Leigh Brooks for all of their hard work. We hope everyone enjoys our story, fans, friends or otherwise."

Nickelback's European tour kicks off in May. See the full list of dates below.

Nickelback returns to N.L. for Churchill Park Music Festival

Band's only stop in atlantic canada this summer, social sharing.

Nickelback performs during the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023.

Music fans in Newfoundland and Labrador won't have to just look at a photograph of Nickelback for much longer.

The Vancouver-based multi-Juno winners will hit the Churchill Park Music Festival stage in St. John's on Aug. 9 for their only Atlantic Canadian stop this summer.

Festival organizers announced the remainder of the lineup for the annual summer event on Tuesday.

Opening the show is the James Barker Band and sandwiched between are the Arkells — who are no strangers to the island and far beyond just honorary Newfoundlanders at this point in their careers.

Tuesday's announcement follows the buzz of concert details for Shania Twain, who will play the park for three nights straight starting Aug. 16.

  • Shania Twain to headline Churchill Park Music Festival in August
