Miley Cyrus is one of the most influential artists in pop culture. She has five #1 albums including her 2013 GRAMMY-nominated album Bangerz, that is also certified 3x platinum in the U.S., five sold-out world tours and 36 million digital tracks sold in the US alone.

In 2015 she released her free, 23-track surprise experimental album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, co-produced by Wayne Coyne and other Flaming Lips members. Her sixth album, Younger Now, which was released in 2017, exceeded 1.7 billion streams worldwide.

In the summer of 2019, Cyrus dropped the EP, SHE IS COMING. The EP debuted in the Top 5 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart with the track, “Mother’s Daughter,” garnering 150 million streams worldwide.

In September Cyrus released, “Slide Away,” which currently has 133 million Spotify streams worldwide, with the accompanying video reaching 32 million views in less than a month. Cyrus also collaborated with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey on the soundtrack for the 2019 reboot of Charlie’s Angels with the song “Don’t Call Me Angel.“ The song set the record for biggest single-day streams for an all-female collaboration in Spotify History.

In June she starred in an episode of Netflix Black Mirror titled 'Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too'. The standout role had Cyrus playing pop star Ashley O and featured the track “On A Roll,” which earned 80 million streams, topping the TV Songs chart. Cyrus joins a shortlist of singers who have charted under three separate names but is especially rare as she has had two of these chart positions with acting roles.

In late 2018, Cyrus collaborated with Mark Ronson on the hit song, “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart,” the first single off his upcoming fifth album. Since its release, the now platinum-certified track has garnered 392 million streams and more than 159 million video views.

In addition to her success in music, performing and touring around the world and over a decade of experience in television, Cyrus founded the non-profit organization The Happy Hippie Foundation to rally young people to fight injustice. Since launching, the foundation has provided direct support to thousands of homeless and LGBTQ youth across the country. Cyrus also helped launch the Malibu Foundation to support the community of Malibu and its neighbours as they work to rebuild after the Woolsey Fire.

Live reviews

Well known for her questionable attire and twerking, going to a live performance by Miley Cyrus is going to be wild
no question about it. Whether she’s prancing around the stage in something resembling her underwear, or sticking her tongue out in her trademark style, no two Cyrus shows are the same. Her extreme teen pop vibe, however much bad press it receives, has launched her to fame and success.

If you think the likes of Rhianna’s shows are full of energy, Miley Cyrus’ is doubled, if not tripled. You wonder where she gets it from, but upon looking closer, it materialises that she in fact trains pretty hard alongside her dancers. Ultimately, she loves to put on a good show with outrageous costumes, special effects, and set, which are visually astounding.

She always makes sure to play her most well known songs, and it was fantastic when she sang ‘The Climb’, reminding the audience how she started out as Hannah Montanna star. Wow has she come a long way! Just fantastic.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus likely won’t be hitting the road in support of her latest album, Endless Summer Vacation .

During an interview for British Vogue ‘s latest cover story , the 30-year-old superstar singer revealed that she doesn’t see herself going on tour in the near future.

Miley Cyrus Is a Summer Dream in Raw ‘Jaded’ Music Video: Watch

“It’s been a minute,” Cyrus said. “After the last [headline arena] show I did [in 2014], I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can’t. Not only ‘can’t’, because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”

“Like singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love,” Cyrus said. “There’s no connection. There’s no safety.” She added, “It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.”

Cyrus didn’t have any live dates scheduled as of press time.

On Tuesday (May 16), the singer dropped the music video for “Jaded,” the third single off her March-released eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation , which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The set’s lead single “Flowers” spend eight weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and became the quickest song to reach 1 billion streams in Spotify history.

It's hard to believe it but it's now almost 10 years since Miley Cyrus went on her last world tour. In the time since, she ended her Bangerz Tour, Miley Cyrus has released multiple hit singles (' Malibu ', ' Midnight Sky ', ' Mothers Daughter '), multiple hit albums ( Younger Now , Plastic Hearts etc. ), an EP ( She Is Coming ) and a brilliant live album ( Attention ).

In January, Miley launched her Endless Summer Vacation era with the record-breaking number 1 single ' Flowers '. Now, the album is here and demand to see Miley perform live is higher than ever. What has she said about a potential tour though?

Is Miley Cyrus going on tour in 2023?

Will there be an Endless Summer Vacation Tour?

As it stands, Miley is yet to confirm whether or not she will be going on tour in support of her new Endless Summer Vacation album. However, given how much Miley loves performing live, and how popular 'Flowers' is, it seems very likely that a tour will happen.

Miley released her last album, Plastic Hearts , during 2020 when touring was still difficult due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the world more open now, we imagine that Miley will be eager to go on tour.

In the meantime, you can watch Miley perform songs from Endless Summer Vacation live on Disney+ in her brand new Backyard Sessions.

Endless Summer Vacation Tour dates: When is Miley Cyrus going on tour in 2023?

There is currently no information on if/when Miley Cyrus will go on tour. That being said, if she does do an Endless Summer Vacation Tour , it's possible that she will start the tour in spring/summer after the album comes out on March 10th. In other words, get your savings ready because you could be seeing Miley live imminently.

Miley Cyrus 2023 tour locations: What cities will Miley Cyrus play in?

Miley Cyrus is yet to reveal where she will next be going on tour. However, given that it's been almost an entire decade since her last world tour, we reckon that Miley will be aiming to play to as many of her fans as possible.

For her last world tour, Miley performed in Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. Our bet is that the Endless Summer Vacation Tour will feature dates in all of these places, in particular in the US and the UK.

Miley has done arena tours in the past and we imagine that her next tour will include arenas. That being said, given how popular 'Flowers' is, it's also possible that she will be considering playing stadiums this tour.

Miley Cyrus Endless Summer Vacation tour presale codes: How to find a presale code for your country

Miley is yet to reveal any presale information for an upcoming tour. However, most major artists use similar presale formats. If Miley follows in the footsteps of artists like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, she will probably have a Citi Verified Fan Presale in the US and an O2 Priority Presale in the UK.

There may also be LiveNation and fan presales so make sure you're signed up to Miley's mailing list via her website. Scroll down to the bottom of her main page and enter your information: HERE .

Miley Cyrus Endless Summer Vacation tour ticket prices: How much will the tickets to Miley's tour be?

Prices for Miley Cyrus' next tour are yet to be confirmed. Tickets for her Bangerz Tour started at ÂŁ47.50 in the UK and went up to ÂŁ1000 for meet and greets. It's likely that Miley's new tour prices will be slightly higher given that she's only become more popular since Bangerz came out. We imagine that her prices will be similar to other major artists.

For comparison, these are the UK stadium prices for Beyoncé's upcoming Renaissance World Tour.

  • Seated - ÂŁ56.25 to ÂŁ199
  • Standing - ÂŁ106.80
  • Gold Circle - ÂŁ177.50

May the odds be ever in your favour when booking tickets.

Over the course of her legendary career to date, Miley has released seven studio albums, two EPs, multiple live albums and five soundtrack albums as Hannah Montana . With Endless Summer Vacation now here, Miley has hundreds of iconic songs to pick from.

Like most of Miley's previous tours, it seems likely that the Endless Summer Vacation Tour will mainly feature songs of the album it's promoting alongside her biggest hits. Expect to hear 'Flowers' alongside the likes of 'Midnight Sky' and 'The Climb'.

As usual, we won't know the setlist until the first date of the tour. Return to this page then to find out what she plays.

Miley Cyrus Now: Singer Wins Two Grammy Awards, Including 2024 Record of the Year

Miley Cyrus is getting all her flowers. The singer’s biggest hit to date, “Flowers” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, anchored her successful 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation , and at the 2024 Grammy Awards , won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

“This award is amazing, but I really hope it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday,” the 31-year-old said when accepting the Record of the Year trophy. The awards mark Cyrus’ first Grammys. While performing “Flowers” at the February 4 ceremony, Cyrus changed a lyric during one chorus to reference her career first. Instead of singing “Started to cry, but then remembered / I can buy myself flowers,” she sang “Started to cry, then remembered / I just won my first Grammy!”

Who Is Miley Cyrus?

Miley Cyrus is a Grammy-winning singer and actor. The daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus, she began acting at a young age, landing the starring role on the hit show Hannah Montana in 2004. Cyrus went on to release several successful albums, including Breakout (2008) and Can’t Be Tamed (2010) while becoming increasingly known for her wild behavior. Her 2013 single “Wrecking Ball,” backed by a controversial video, became her first U.S. No. 1 hit. Along with retaining a presence on radio, Cyrus served as a coach on The Voice for two seasons. The singer won her first Grammy Awards in 2024 for her hit song “Flowers.”

Quick Facts

FULL NAME: Miley Ray Cyrus BORN: November 23, 1992 BIRTHPLACE: Franklin, Tennessee SPOUSE: Liam Hemsworth (2018-2020) ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: Sagittarius

Early Life and Career

Born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, Miley Cyrus is the daughter of 1990s country star Billy Ray Cyrus. She changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus in 2008, legally adopting the nickname she was given as a baby for often smiling.

Miley grew up on the family farm, near Nashville, Tennessee, with two siblings and three half-siblings. Her godmother is country music icon Dolly Parton . Cyrus was passionate about acting at a young age, appearing on her father’s television series, Doc , and in Tim Burton ’s Big Fish (2003).

Hannah Montana

In 2004, Cyrus beat out 1,000 hopefuls to land the starring role of Miley Stewart on the hit Disney show Hannah Montana . The tween series features a young pop superstar (Montana) who hides her celebrity identity to be an everyday teen in real life (Stewart).

To accommodate filming, the entire family moved to Los Angeles with Billy Ray joining his daughter on screen as her fictional dad-manager. Her star on the rise, Cyrus released a successful Hannah Montana soundtrack album in 2006.

In 2007, Cyrus’s double album, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus , led to the launch of the Best of Both Worlds Tour. The concert series sold out in record time and was extended by 14 dates to help placate disappointed fans. Her successful 3-D concert film collected $31.3 million during its opening weekend in February 2008.

Enthusiasm for Cyrus’ TV alter ego remained strong through the end of the decade. Hannah Montana: The Movie scored at the box office, bringing in more than $79 million following its April 2009 release. Cyrus bid farewell to the role with the conclusion of Hannah Montana in early 2011.

Albums and Hit Songs

Breakout , the time of our lives , and can’t be tamed.

Cyrus’ second studio album, Breakout, became a huge hit in 2008, reaching the top of the pop album charts. The following year she released the EP The Time of Our Lives , featuring the hit singles “Party in the U.S.A.” and “When I Look at You,” the former becoming one of the singer’s most successful song to date, selling more than 5.38 million copies and earning a spot among the best-selling singles of all time. The young star followed that success with the release of a new album, 2010’s Can’t Be Tamed .

“We Can’t Stop,” “Wrecking Ball,” and Bangerz

Cyrus sought to distance herself from her Hannah Montana persona by cutting her hair short and wearing edgy fashions, but no one was quite prepared for how far she would go: At the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in August 2013, Cyrus stunned the audience with her raunchy performance of her single “We Can’t Stop.”

Around this time, she appeared nude in the video of a follow-up single “Wrecking Ball.” However, the swirling controversy seemed to bolster sales of Cyrus’ fourth studio album, Bangerz , released in October 2013. Meanwhile, “Wrecking Ball” became her first U.S. single to top the pop charts and earned her Video of the Year honors at the 2014 VMAs.

Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz and Younger Now

Named host of the 2015 VMAs, Cyrus concluded her efforts that evening by announcing the release of a new, free album. A departure from her pop roots, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz explored themes of psychedelia as it wound through its 23 tracks. The album drew mixed reviews, with some critics praising the artist’s willingness to push creative boundaries while retaining a sense of radio-friendly tracks. Her follow-up album, Younger Now (2017), featuring the lead single “Malibu,” marked a return to more conservative fare.

She Is Coming and Plastic Hearts

Her seventh studio album on the way, Cyrus released its first installment, the seven-track EP She Is Coming , in May 2019, with the single “Mother’s Daughter” arriving a couple of weeks later. Cyrus followed with “Slide Away” that August, before teaming with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey for “Don’t Call Me Angel,” from the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack.

Her full album Plastic Hearts followed in November 2020 and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It’s most successful song was “Midnight Sky.” Even bigger success was just ahead.

“Flowers” and Endless Summer Vacation

Cyrus kicked off 2023 by releasing “Flowers,” which quickly became her second No. 1 hit song. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and anchored her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation , that arrived in August. Both the song and the album were commercially and critically successful, earning the singer six Grammy nominations.

In February 2024, Cyrus accepted her first Grammy Awards. “Flowers” won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Movies and TV

The last song , lol , and so undercover.

In 2010, Cyrus starred in the romantic drama The Last Song , a movie based on a novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks . Her coming-of-age drama LOL (2012) also was geared toward tween audiences, while her attempt to branch out slightly, as a private investigator in So Undercover (2012), wound up as a direct-to-video release in the United States.

The Night Before , A Very Murray Christmas , and Crisis in Six Scenes

Cyrus resumed her film work in 2015 by appearing as herself in two holiday comedies: The Night Before , starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and the Bill Murray variety special A Very Murray Christmas . The following year she teamed with Woody Allen to star in the Amazon series Crisis in Six Scenes.

Already a veteran of the small screen, Cyrus put her hosting duties to task once again as one of the new female coaches of season 11 of The Voice , the other being Alicia Keys . The women competed to discover the top artist, alongside veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton . Cyrus left at the end of the season but returned for season 13 in 2017.

Black Mirror and Bright Minded

Following a small, uncredited voice role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Cyrus was the center of attention in the June 2019 season 5 opener of the TV series Black Mirror , in which she played a pop star named Ashley O. The following spring, she launched the interview show Bright Minded: Live with Miley on Instagram Live as a way of helping the public cope with the coronavirus outbreak.

Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

In March 2018, it was announced that Jamaican singer-songwriter Michael May, who performs under the name Flourgon, had filed a lawsuit alleging that Cyrus’ 2013 hit “We Can’t Stop” was based on his 1988 song “We Run Things.”

According to the lawsuit, Cyrus had lifted the lyrics “We run things / Things don’t run we” from May’s “We run things / Things no run we,” and “significantly incorporated” his “vocal melody/rhythm/cadence/inflection.”

In 2008, Cyrus stirred up controversy by posing for revealing shots taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz , which appeared in Vanity Fair magazine. The resulting criticism prompted an “embarrassed” Cyrus to apologize to fans, though years later she tweeted that she wasn’t sorry at all, with a four-letter word for emphasis.

In 2009, Cyrus provided a look into her life with the autobiography Miles to Go , featuring previously unseen photos, family stories and “a look at her inner circle of loved ones.” In a statement around this time, Cyrus said of the book, “I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me. I hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams.”

Ex-Husband Liam Hemsworth

Cyrus, who has made headlines for her romantic life, briefly dated Nick Jonas of the musical group the Jonas Brothers in 2007. She was also romantically linked to model Justin Gaston and actor Carter Jenkins, among other celebrities.

In June 2012, after three years of dating, Cyrus announced her engagement to actor and Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth . The pair called it quits in September 2013, and although they later rekindled their relationship and got married on December 23, 2018, they separated again the following summer.

Olivia Rodrigo Releases 'Guts (Spilled)' Deluxe Edition: Listen To New Song "So American" & Watch The "Obsessed" Music Video

In the midst of her headlining arena tour, Olivia Rodrigo delivered an extended version of her second album, 'GUTS.' Hear new song "so american" from 'GUTS (spilled)' below, along with four previously vinyl-only tracks.

Seven months after Olivia Rodrigo unleashed her highly anticipated second studio album, she spilled her GUTS even further on March 22: GUTS (spilled) deluxe edition is here.

Rodrigo diehards may know four of the five deluxe tracks, which were previously only available on vinyl editions of GUTS : "obsessed," "stranger," "scared of my guitar," and "girl i've always been." But the deluxe version doesn't come without an unreleased track — the fifth, "so american," is brand new, and closes out GUTS (spilled) .

"Obsessed" even got the video treatment, with the official music video dropping at the same time as the deluxe album. Therein, she’s the black sheep among a litany of pageant queens, representing exes: Rodrigo’s sash reads " Miss Right Now. " The chorus — " I’m so obsessed with your ex! " detonates with a full rock band.

Rodrigo will even be able to celebrate the arrival of GUTS (spilled) with fans, too. The GUTS World Tour stops Columbus, Ohio, on March 22 — almost exactly a month after it launched in Thousand Palms, California, on Feb. 23 . As of press time, the tour (which marks Rodrigo's first headlining arena trek) will feature 77 shows across North America and Europe; it wraps with four nights at Los Angeles' Kia Forum on Aug. 13, 14, 16, and 17.

Before the tour began, GUTS helped Rodrigo earn six more GRAMMY nominations . In addition to a nod for Album Of The Year, the pop-punk princess received nominations for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Vampire," Best Rock Song for "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl," and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Prior to the 2024 GRAMMYs, Rodrigo was already a three-time winner, taking home Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album ( SOUR ) and Best Pop Solo Performance ("drivers license") in 2022.

Listen to GUTS (spilled) below, watch the "Obsessed" video above, and keep checking back for news about Olivia Rodrigo!

4 Ways Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS World Tour Shows A New Side Of The Pop Princess

Olivia Rodrigo not only boasts a luminous performance on her first-ever arena tour, but also showcases an undiluted moment of self-expression.

Since releasing her debut single three years ago, Olivia Rodrigo has not shown any signs of slowing down. And with a sold-out arena tour underway, the three-time GRAMMY winner is keeping that momentum going in awe-inspiring fashion.

As the GUTS World Tour — Rodrigo's first headlining arena trek — kicked off at Palm Springs' Acrisure Arena on Feb. 23, the pop star immersed fans with a dedicated space to examine the moments when you feel unpretty, never have the perfect perfume, or can't help being unapologetically feral. Blooming under a full, Pisces moon, Olivia Rodrigo's luminous performance marked an undiluted moment of self-expression.

Toeing the line between fragile girlhood and brutal adulthood, Rodrigo was unafraid to embrace the Olivia who once was and who is becoming. And as a result, she unleashed a fresh, freer side of herself — one she's ready to share with the world.

Below, read through four ways Olivia Rodrigo's Guts World Tour unveiled a liberated version of the chart-topping superstar.

She's Unafraid To Celebrate Herself

What makes Rodrigo's GUTS Tour magnificent is it's less about the finer details — like massive sets or onstage collaborations — and more so about her journey since her rise to fame. Rodrigo's honest examination of herself was refreshingly lethal in the zeitgeist of pop music's increasingly formulaic state. In 90 minutes, the show's comparably straightforward set list made sure the album's focus on autonomy was central, woven with her simultaneously intimate and acute insights.

At the start of the show, the backdrop displayed perfectly arranged lit candles spelling out her album's title. Before singing "teenage dream," she proclaimed, "I just turned 21!" (her birthday was Feb. 20). "I'm really f—cking excited about it. I went to the gas station the other day and bought a pack of cigarettes!" As she fervently played the piano, she reminisced about writing the song, noting that she penned it ahead of her last birthday as a teenager, "when I was really afraid of growing up," she admitted to the crowd.

All throughout her melodic existential crisis, a video of her younger self was projected onto the screen. She ended the song with an audio of herself as a child, someone off camera asking her to introduce herself; it was so emblematic of the blitheness youth often brings. And though she recently celebrated a young adult milestone, it was still rather jarring to hear her youthful voice deliver the track's heavy lyrics.

The next two songs served up a mix of painful vulnerability and complete release. Some of the most painful sentiments of GUTS ' "pretty isn't pretty" — "I started to skip lunch, stopped eating cake on birthdays," for one — were the lines the audience most enthusiastically sang along to. After hefty musings, it made perfect sense for her to transition to "love is embarrassing," where she allowed herself to let loose. Prancing around on stage, she held up a big "L" to her forehead before laughing and stomping out flailing choreography. The track ended with all of her backup dancers bent over, shimmying their derrieres as Rodrigo sent a shimmering wink to showgoers.

Rodrigo allowed seriousness and silliness to exist simultaneously, and it was clear that every single person in the crowd felt heard. It made the night all the more special, knowing even a star whose impact is nearly immeasurable can also "feel like s—" on their birthday — and it was entirely ok .

She's Signaling Her Evolution While Honoring Her Past

Fans who have known Rodrigo since her starring role in the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark have met many iterations of Olivia Rodrigo: The one who made palatable Disney Channel music, the one breaking ground with her sound, the one unafraid to embrace her pop-punk propensity. The show underscored her evolution as an artist, while being unafraid to make references to her past.

She unabashedly looked back to past Olivia in a quietly powerful performance of "All I Want," a track she wrote when starring on Disney+'s "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series." Despite the glamour of her propelling fame, Rodrigo absolutely refused to be anybody but herself throughout her time on the show. "I was literally peeing my pants on the set" while demonstrating her lyrics to the showrunners, she professes, laughing and shaking her head as she sat on the ground, with nothing but a guitar player backing her silken vocals.

It was a decidedly striking move to reference her squeakier past in a more simplistic form — especially because, as the concert progressed, her performance only became more and more complex and risquĂ©. In a daring act, the dazzling purple backdrop ignited as fallen candles virtually burned everything in sight and, through the ashes, emerged something a bit darker. Now clad in a bold, red jumpsuit, Rodrigo delivered the GUTS hidden track "obsessed" while balanced on top of a glass floor, thrusting her hips into the air and screaming into the backdrop.

Though her vocal delivery was nearly identical to the studio versions of her songs, what made the show all the more mesmerizing was how deeply she felt each and every one of her lines. Even more so than her vulnerability, the fury Rodrigo fully embraced throughout the show was perhaps one of the most freeing aspects of it.

Snatching her purple guitar with unhindered passion, she whipped her hair and fell to the floor while thrumming along to "brutal," to match her guitarist beat-for-beat in intensity. In another audacious move, Rodrigo even grabbed a drumstick out of her drummer's hand and began whacking the drums as well, throwing the stick into the air after the final beat.

During an almost-required lyric change on "all american b—," she sang she's grabbing her "all-American tits" rather than just her "all-American hips," — which, of course, necessitated an aggressive chest clench. In one of the most memorable moments of the night, Rodrigo asked the crowd to think of someone who "really pisses them off" and commanded everyone to scream as loud as they could. Shutting off the lights, the arena was filled with nothing but raw yodels and screams into the void — and it was glorious.

As the stakes have gradually become higher and higher, Rodrigo's performances came down to something easily decipherable: shameless joy with a side of defiance.

Chappell Roan at the 2024 GUTS World Tour

She's Highlighting Diverse Talent Front & Center

Rodrigo's choice of supporting acts further display her understanding of dynamic artistry, as buzzing pop and indie acts Chappell Roan , The Breeders, PinkPantheress and Remi Wolf will rotate through the opening slot. Roan is support for the first stretch, and her set underscored the meaning of a true pop princess in the making.

Delivering flawless vocals and addicting charisma, Roan proved she knows how to serve a memorable performance. As she skipped through the stage and clutched her guitarist while hitting an immaculate high note during "My Kink Is Karma," it was clear that Roan is ready for her arrival as pop royalty.

Nothing about her performance screamed rookie; if anything, it was a masterclass in how to take up space. When she belted, "Oh mama, I'm just having fun on the stage in my heels. It's where I belong!" from the outstanding single "Pink Pony Club," she jumped into the air, pure bliss emanating all the way from head to her sparkly, silver boot-clad toes.

Her Community Of Fans Is Unmatched — And She's Here For It

Despite what was going on onstage, Rodrigo's show made it clear that her authenticity has helped her build quite the loyal following. Along with scream-singing the majority of the set list, fans were dressed to the nines, some adorning elaborate recreations of her music video and performance outfits.

Her fellow Pisces were celebrating their birthdays, wearing Olivia Rodrigo-themed sashes — some turning 13, some 30. All around the arena, fans ran up to one another wishing each other happy birthdays, asking how the other made a certain outfit. Bows, à la Sandy Liang, were sprinkled throughout the crowd, and even became an integral part of Rodrigo's choreography during "lacy."

At the surface, it's easy to dismiss Rodrigo's fandom — especially given her more sanitized, mainstream roots in the industry. Navigating through the crowd, you would hear disgruntled murmurs from security staff, dismissing everyone as just "an annoying group of 14 year old girls" — despite the diversity the audience actually boasted.

Despite it all, Rodrigo became a beacon of acceptance. Suspended above the audience on a crescent moon during GUTS ' "logical" and SOUR 's "enough for you" — one of the more poignant moments of the show — she took the time to shout out and get closer to those in the nosebleed sections. "I see you!" she belted out, later taking the time to shine the camera on cute couples and exquisite ensembles during her set. Those three words are precisely why Rodrigo's music has such wide appeal — she speaks to those who have felt easily discarded, like they were too much, too loud, too brash.

The night ended with star-shaped confetti floating down to the crowd after a buoyant performance of "get him back!" As the clean-up crew unleashed industrial sized vacuums on the streamers, young fans scrambled about, giggling as they tried to grab as many as possible to bring home, some sticking them in their hair as they leapt about the emptying arena.

Olivia Rodrigo's superpower is her acute ability to make these painful feelings of girlhood feel so uniting. In between the heartbreak and growing pains is this ephemeral moment of unguarded joy, and she brought it all to the GUTS World Tour.

Songbook: The Ultimate Guide To Rihanna's Reign, From Her Record-Breaking Hits To Unforgettable Collabs

As the world eagerly awaits Rihanna's musical comeback, GRAMMY.com takes a deep dive into the superstar's catalog and celebrates her evolution from teen idol to beloved icon.

A chance meeting changed Rihanna 's life.

The singer was just 15 years old when she met producer Evan Rogers, who was vacationing with his wife in Barbados. Rogers recognized Rihanna's potential, and invited her to an audition in his hotel suite.

Shortly after her 16th birthday, Rihanna left her home country for the U.S. to record a demo, which included her breakthrough hit "Pon de Replay." The demo found its way into Jay-Z 's hands, and Hov signed the teen artist to Def Jam and the label expedited her 2005 debut album, aptly titled Music of the Sun .

"When I left Barbados, I didn't look back," Rihanna told Entertainment Weekly in 2007. "I wanted to do what I had to do [to succeed], even if it meant moving to America."

Twenty years later, Rihanna is a renowned entertainer-turned-mogul. She has sold over 40 million albums worldwide, garnered over 12 billion Spotify streams, achieved 14 Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers, and won nine GRAMMY Awards. Even her business ventures have been a massive success, as her Fenty Beauty brand is worth $2.8 billion.

Though it's been close to a decade since Rihanna's last studio album, 2016's ANTI , she reminded the world of her reign with her 2023 Super Bowl halftime show — which also marked her first time taking the stage in five years. Performing hit after hit while unveiling a baby bump, her 13-minute set became one of the most-watched halftime shows of all time with over 121 million viewers.

In honor of Rihanna's 36th birthday on Feb. 20, GRAMMY.com is revisiting the monstrous hits, ambitious projects, brow-raising visuals, and iconic collabs that propelled her to international stardom — and why it's all put her in a league of her own.

A New Island Girl In Town

True to her Carribean heritage, Rihanna's dancehall-inspired debut single "Pon de Replay" earned the then 17-year-old Barbados native her first entry on the Hot 100 at an impressive No. 2. Her official introduction to the world also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart; she boasts 33 on the tally, second behind only the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna .

Follow-up single "If It's Lovin' That You Want" stalled at No. 36 on the Hot 100, but still whetted fans' appetite — as did her debut album, Music of the Sun , which is mostly comprised of dance-pop and dancehall tracks with hints of R&B (like "Willing to Wait"). Plus, her reimagining of Dawn Penn's 1994 reggae classic "You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)" is still so fun to listen to after all these years.

A mere eight months later, Rihanna's sophomore effort, 2006's A Girl Like Me , arrived to an eager audience. Defying the sophomore slump, she celebrated her first No. 1 with the ubiquitous lead single "SOS," which famously samples Soft Cell's 1981 hit, "Tainted Love." While A Girl Like Me is filled with high-energy, danceable tracks (including the nostalgic "Break It Off" with Sean Paul ), Rihanna's second single was the melodramatic ballad "Unfaithful."

Penned by then-labelmate Ne-Yo , "Unfaithful" peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100. More importantly, it showed a different side to Rihanna, proving that she could channel deep emotion when the performance calls for it. It also marked Rihanna's first time veering away from her "girl next door" image, as the song's subject matter deals with infidelity.

A Girl Like Me contains many fan favorites, from the laid-back "We Ride" to standouts "Dem Haters" and "Kisses Don't Lie." The latter is a reggae-rock hybrid that sounds like a catalyst for some of Rihanna's edgier tunes like "Breakin' Dishes" from 2007's Good Girl Gone Bad era. Touching ballads"Final Goodbye" and "A Million Miles Away" showcase her voice beautifully, foreshadowing later big-vocal numbers like "Love on the Brain."

An Icon In The Making

Rihanna was a familiar face by 2007, but with the arrival of her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad , she graduated from cookie-cutter pop star to bonafide icon.

Produced by Tricky Stewart , the LP's juggernaut lead single "Umbrella" featuring Jay-Z skyrocketed to No. 1 in 17 countries. Between striking images of Rihanna's silver-painted silhouette in the accompanying video and the now-iconic "ella-ella, eh, eh, eh" hook, "Umbrella" thrust the then 19-year-old into another stratosphere. Her confident delivery also commanded attention in a way fans and critics hadn't heard before.

The transformative era also birthed the gritty "Shut Up and Drive," on which Rihanna channels her inner rock star. The next two singles cracked the top 10: an affectionate duet with Ne-Yo,  "Hate That I Love You," which showed off Rihanna's softer side, and the party-starting, Michael Jackson -sampling "Don't Stop the Music," which cemented her place in the digital era.

The melancholy "Rehab" is a clever metaphor for lost love, co-written by Timbaland and Justin Timberlake . Despite being Good Girl Gone Bad 's lowest-charting single, Timberlake heralded the song as "the bridge for her to be accepted as an adult in the music industry."

Good Girl Gone Bad remains Rihanna's best-selling album and marks her greatest reinvention as she adopted a more rebellious sound. She also won her first GRAMMY in 2008 (Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella") and scored four other nominations, including Record Of The Year. The album's reissue spawned two more No. 1s: "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia," the latter of which acts like a prelude to Rated R , which saw Rihanna exploring darker themes.

Nine months before the release of 2009's Rated R , Rihanna was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown . On the deeply personal album, she translated her pain into art. Through lead single "Russian Roulette" and bitingly catchy anthems "Stupid in Love," "Fire Bomb," "Photographs," "Cold Case Love," and "The Last Song," Rihanna explored her angst and confusion.

But to focus solely on the domestic violence incident undermines Rihanna's artistic vision.

Following three multi-platinum albums in a three-year span, Rihanna's rebranding as a rebel at heart reached its apex. The singer had grown in leaps and bounds while taking musical risks, even penning nine of Rated R 's 13 tracks (she had no writing credits on Good Girl Gone Bad ).

The road to Rihanna's most badass anthems — including "Bitch Better Have My Money" — can be traced back to Rated R . Case in point: Her bravado is loud and clear on "Hard," "Wait Your Turn," and "G4L." On "Rockstar 101," which features legendary rocker Slash , Rihanna declares her power: "Six inch walker/ Big sh— talker/ I never play the victim/ I'd rather be a stalker."

Badgal RiRi returned to her dancehall roots on her fifth No. 1 "Rude Boy," which offsets the album's harrowing motif. Final single "Te Amo" didn't chart, but garnered a great deal of attention as the Latin-infused Stargate production depicts Rihanna being enticed by a female love interest.

Rated R showcased Rihanna's undeniable star power, and allowed her to shed her good-girl image once and for all.

A Partygoer's Dream

Following the career-pivoting Rated R , 2010's Loud offered a welcome return to the West Indian artist's earlier sound. The album feels like one big celebration of life, as evidenced by Rihanna's fire-engine red hair and No. 1 singles "Only Girl (In the World)" and "What's My Name?" (the latter of which was Rih's first collaboration with Drake ).

Best described as "Don't Stop the Music" 2.0, the effervescent "Only Girl" marked her eminent return to the dance floor and took home a GRAMMY for Best Dance Recording in 2011. While "What's My Name?" may not outshine Rih and Drizzy's other collabs — including 2011's "Take Care" or 2016's "Work" — the second she sings, "Hey, boy, I really wanna see if you can go downtown with a girl like me," it's impossible not to whine your waist to the riddim.

Easily one of Rihanna's most overlooked hits, "Cheers (Drink to That)" is built around an unexpected sample of Avril Lavigne 's 2002 hit "I'm With You," but it works surprisingly well as a party anthem. That same carefree spirit can be heard in the feminist track "Raining Men," which features Nicki Minaj — their first of two collabs, as they joined forces again for "Fly," the final single off the rapper's iconic Pink Friday album.

A playful ode to sadomasochism and bondage, "S&M" contains some of Rihanna's most provocative lyrics: "Sticks and stones may break my bones/ But chains and whips excite me," she declares on the chorus.

Banned in 11 countries upon its release, the accompanying video features Rihanna tied up in pink rope, dancing with a blowup doll, and donning a Playboy bunny-esque costume as damning newsreels about herself flash across the screen. But Rihanna's love of kink made her an even bigger star: "S&M" produced a remix with Britney Spears and earned Rihanna her 10th No. 1 single. With this feat, she became the youngest artist to attain the most chart-toppers in a five-year span.

On "Man Down," Rihanna's patois is in full effect as she takes listeners through a gripping tale about murdering her abuser. "What started out as a simple altercation/ Turned into a real sticky situation," she laments in the opening verse, amplified by siren noises in the background. There's something so satisfying about Rihanna's Bajan accent as she unfurls "Rum-pum-pum-pum" repeatedly over an intensifying reggae beat that would make Sister Nancy and Bob Marley proud.

Nominated for Album Of The Year at the 2021 GRAMMYs, Loud is Rihanna's second most commercially successful LP — and for good reason. It was especially refreshing to see Rihanna emerge from one of the darkest periods of her life as exuberant as ever.

An Unapologetic Queen

Sonically and thematically, Talk That Talk doesn't break new ground, but Rih's DGAF attitude is front and center with plenty of sexual innuendos: Songs like "S&M" and "Rude Boy" seem pretty tame next to "Cockiness (Love It)," which features longtime friend-turned-boyfriend A$AP Rocky on its remix. "Suck my cockiness/ Lick my persuasion/ Eat my poison/ And swallow your pride down, down," she commands in the tantalizing chorus.

At just over a minute long, "Birthday Cake" leaves nothing to the imagination ("It's not even my birthday, but he wanna lick the icing off"). Rihanna controversially released a full-length version in the form of a remix with Chris Brown.

On an album that mostly sees Rihanna singing about her sexual fantasies, "We All Want Love" pulls back the curtain as it reveals her desire for true love: "And some say love ain't worth the buck/ But I'll give my last dime/ To have what I've only been dreaming about."

Her longing continues in "Where Have You Been," which flaunts Rihanna's versatility, flipping Geoff Mack's 1959 country song "I've Been Everywhere" into an infectious EDM banger. Lead single "We Found Love" is undeniably the biggest hit to stem from the Talk That Talk era, spending 10 consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100.

Boosting Calvin Harris ' career, "We Found Love" presents one juxtaposition after the other: dark yet gleaming, euphoric yet sobering, fraught yet hopeful. Rihanna relies on more than just evocative lyrics to tell her story; accompanying synthesizers and alarm bells help to paint a picture as well. Met with controversy, its intense visuals portraying a drug-fueled, toxic relationship — and featuringwhat many speculated was a Chris Brown look-alike — earned RiRi a GRAMMY for Best Long Form Music Video in 2013.

Seven years into an already extraordinary career, 2012's Unapologetic became Rihanna's first album to debut at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Its lead single "Diamonds" resonated in an equally major way, giving Rih her 12th No. 1 on the Hot 100.

Written by Sia , the power ballad kicked off another exciting era for the Barbadian singer, who unleashes an impassioned vocal performance. One of Rihanna's most precious offerings to date, "Diamonds" emerged as a self-love mantra due to its uplifting "Shine bright like a diamond" chant.

Vocally, Rihanna's strength lies in her ability to evoke raw emotion Ă  la "Stay." Featuring Mikky Ekko , the stripped-down, slow-burning piano ballad narrowly missed the top spot on the Hot 100 but gave Rihanna her 24th top 10 hit, surpassing Whitney Houston 's record of 23 in 2013.

Her swagger is boisterous in "Phresh Out the Runway," "Jump," and strip club anthem "Pour It Up," but "Nobody's Business" really drives home the album's theme of being unbothered. Her decision to join forces with Chris Brown yet again perplexed fans and critics alike, though the track itself is an irresistible production that features a genius interpolation of Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel."

Further down the track list, "Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary" is as autobiographical as it gets, and further taps into Rihanna's emotionally vulnerable side. "Mr. Jesus, I'd love to be a queen/ But I'm from the left side of an island/ Never thought this many people would even know my name," she pleads in the seven-minute two-parter.

Unapologetic spawned fewer hit singles compared to Rihanna's previous efforts. Its win for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2014 GRAMMYs, however, proved that Rihanna's reign wasn't letting up anytime soon.

While recording her then-forthcoming album, ANTI , Rihanna delivered what is arguably the single most unapologetic moment of her career: "Bitch Better Have My Money." The backstory is almost inconceivable given Rihanna's awe-inspiring billionaire status, but in 2009, Rihanna faced bankruptcy due to her accountants mishandling her funds — and thus "Bitch" was born six years later in 2015.

With lyrics like "Your wife in the backseat of my brand new foreign car" over a cryptic-sounding trap beat and an accompanying video depicting kidnapping and torturing her debtors, "Bitch" is not for the faint-hearted. The one-off single is so quintessentially Rihanna that it notably kicked off her Super Bowl halftime show.

An In-Demand Collaborator

While bestowing hit after hit on her own, Rihanna generously lent her distinct voice to some of her biggest peers. 2008 marks one of the earliest instances of her Midas touch: She flirts with funk in Maroon 5 's underappreciated "If I Never See Your Face Again" before hopping on T.I .'s "Live Your Life," which shot straight to No. 1 on the Hot 100.

In 2009, Rihanna joined Jay-Z and Kanye West for the militant "Run This Town," sounding defiant as ever in the intro. She was called upon again for West's horn-laden "All of the Lights," flying solo on the hook followed by a star-studded choir that included Alicia Keys , John Legend , Fergie , and Elton John . Both larger-than-life productions won GRAMMYs for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2010 and 2012, respectively.

In between joining forces with Hov and Ye, Rihanna assisted Eminem in "Love the Way You Lie," which struck a nerve with many for its gut-wrenching lyrics shedding a light on abusive relationships. (Rih recorded an equally moving sequel for her Loud album.) Three years later, the two confronted their inner demons in "The Monster," and their musical chemistry scored a GRAMMY in 2015 for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Amid smash collabs, Rihanna and Coldplay 's intricate "Princess of China" number gets lost in the shuffle, but it speaks to her charm as it's the band's first album (2011's Mylo Xyloto ) to feature another artist. Another overlooked jam, her sultry "Can't Remember to Forget You" duet with Shakira sees both stars trade lines about struggling to let go of an undeserving lover.

On paper, a collaboration between Rihanna, Kanye West, and Sir Paul McCartney may seem strange, but the unlikely trio is further proof that opposites attract. Their "FourFiveSeconds" is a pop-folk hybrid with a universal message about carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. It's yet another example of Rihanna's willingness to push past her comfort zone to create something unique.

A year later, Rihanna got listeners on their feet by way of the Taylor Swift -penned "This Is What You Came For" with Calvin Harris. Understated compared to the duo's previous megahits ("We Found Love" and "Where Have You Been"), Harris' signature DJing style and Rih's ethereal vocals are a perfect match.

In 2017, Rih, DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller dropped the song of the summer with "Wild Thoughts," which heavily borrows from Carlos Santana 's 1999 GRAMMY-winning "Maria Maria." It may be DJ Khaled's song, but RiRi owns it from the very moment she utters, "I don't know if you could take it/ Know you wanna see me nakey, nakey, naked." The bop reached No. 2 on the Hot 100.

She spits bars in Kendrick Lamar 's "Loyalty" and "Lemon" with N.E.R.D. , the latter of which comes close to rivaling your favorite rappers' verses: "You can catch me, Rih, in the new La Ferrar'/ And the truck behind me got arms/ Yeah, longer than LeBron/ Just waitin' for my thumb like The Fonz."

No matter what genre Rihanna touches or what artist she links up with, she brings her full self to each session whilst completely immersing herself into the music — taking on different personas to make the collab well worth it.

An Artist Fully Realized

With 13 No. 1s and twice as many top 10 hits under her belt, Rihanna set out to create timeless music instead of chasing a radio-friendly formula with her 2016 magnum opus, ANTI .

But that shift began with 2015's criminally underrated "American Oxygen." Her most political statement at the time, the goosebump-inducing lyrics detail Rihanna's journey as an immigrant, foreshadowing her then soon-to-be massive Fenty Beauty success. "We sweat for a nickel and a dime/ Turn it into an empire," she sings in the chorus.

Released four years after Unapologetic — her longest gap between albums at the time — ANTI illustrated Rihanna's greater desire for quality over quantity. "I needed the music to match my growth," she told Vogue in 2016 about the making of ANTI . "I didn't want to get caught up with anything the world liked, anything the radio liked, anything that I liked, that I've already heard. I just wanted it to be me."

The black-and-white, red paint-splattered album cover signals a rebirth, featuring a real-life image of Rihanna as a child. ANTI lives up to its name in its first 40 seconds, via opening track "Consideration." The minute she declares, "I got to do things my own way, darling," it's apparent that ANTI is not your average Rihanna album.

Lead single "Work" is the closest to pre- ANTI Rihanna on an album that defies expectations. But the dancehall masterpiece is one of a kind for Rih's refusal to water down the Jamaican patois (different from her native language of Bajan Creole) — proving that she is fully aware of her impact as one of the biggest Caribbean-born artists to make it in the U.S.

Many non-understanding listeners described it as "gibberish" at the time. Yet, the general public didn't seem to mind: About a month after its release, "Work" became Rihanna's 14th and longest-running chart-topper on the Hot 100. Weeks later, ANTI became her second LP to top the Billboard 200 chart. Subsequently, Rihanna held the No. 1 spots on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously, her second time achieving such an impressive feat.

ANTI is full of pleasant surprises that show off her artistry. Rihanna comes out of left field with the Prince -inspired "Kiss It Better," the album's second single, which sees the superstar falling back on addictive sex that "feels like crack" to justify a destructive relationship. "Same Ol' Mistakes" is a cover of psychedelic rock band Tame Impala 's "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" — her first time remaking another artist's song for her own album since "You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)" on Music of the Sun . The Western-themed "Desperado" lends itself particularly well to covers by country artists, while the Dido -sampling "Never Ending" conveys the uncertainty she feels about entering a new relationship.

Elsewhere on ANTI , Rihanna drunk dials an ex ("Higher"), compares smoking weed to her lover ("James Joint"), and chastises a guy for getting emotionally attached after their fling ("Needed Me"). The latter song contains one of Rihanna's most empowering lyrics: "Didn't they tell you that I was a savage?/ F— ya white horse and ya carriage," she asserts in the pre-chorus.

Her voice sounds stronger than ever on "Love on the Brain," a doo-wop ballad resembling Etta James . But Rihanna makes it her own thanks to the bluntness of lines like "It beats me black and blue but it f— me so good."

The deep cuts on ANTI aren't merely fillers, and even rival some of the album's biggest hits. For instance, "Sex with Me" is featured on the deluxe edition as a bonus track, but managed to crack the Hot 100 at No. 83 and reach No. 8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. Furthermore, the deluxe edition consists of 16 tracks, half of which topped the Dance Club Songs chart — smashing the record (previously held by Katy Perry 's Teenage Dream ) for the most No. 1s from a single album.

Accolades aside, ANTI is proof that magic happens when an artist of Rihanna's caliber follows their own instincts in pursuit of creating a body of work — one that can outlast them and continue to inspire generations to come.

Ever since ANTI , Rihanna's devoted fanbase has been begging for a new album, with Rih playfully trolling them with responses like "I lost it" and Instagram captions that read, "Me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it."

Her much-awaited return to music came at the tail end of 2022. The hitmaker twice contributed to the GRAMMY-nominated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack: "Born Again" and "Lift Me Up," the latter of which helped Rihanna score her first Oscar and Golden Globe nominations in 2022 and 2023, respectively. With the glorious "Lift Me Up," she found herself in the top 10 for the first time since 2017's "Wild Thoughts."

While the world is still anticipating her ninth studio album, Rihanna — now a mom of two boys — continues to make her own rules and move at her own pace. But as she's proven time and time again, it's always worth the wait.

The 66th GRAMMY Awards were full of memorable moments and incredible performances. Relive Music's Biggest Night with performance videos from Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox, Gaby Moreno & David Aguilar, and more.

The 2024 GRAMMYs were marked by record-breaking wins, moving speeches and viral moments both on- and offstage. But what truly tied together Music's Biggest Night — beyond artistic excellence — was its slate of stunning and emotional performances.

From Dua Lipa 's opening act and new song, to Joni Mitchell 's first-ever performance on the GRAMMY stage and the tearjerking-yet-thrilling tribute to lost icons, the 66th GRAMMY Awards were a showcase of the best of the business.

Press play on the videos below and relive the most exciting performances from the 66th GRAMMY Awards

Dua Lipa opened the 66th GRAMMY Awards with a medley of the first two singles from her upcoming album. Tracks " Houdini" and "Training Season" are the first two singles off Dua Lipa’s forthcoming third studio record, which follows her GRAMMY-winning 2020 LP   Future Nostalgia . The 2024 GRAMMYs were a sneak peek of "Training Season," as the track officially arrives Feb. 15.

In a full-circle moment, Luke Combs   perform his GRAMMY-nominated cover of " Fast Car " — with a suprise appearance from Tracy Chapman . "Fast Car" earned Chapman a GRAMMY for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1989, when she took home the trophy. On the GRAMMY stage, the otherwise reclusive Chapman beamed as she strummed an acoustic guitar and duetted with Combs . "Tracy is such an icon and, I mean, one of the best songwriters that I think any of us will ever be around to see, "   Combs said in the video introducing his performance.

Miley Cyrus   had only performed "Flowers" twice before taking the GRAMMY-winning song to stage on Music’s Biggest Night. And while the hit track off   Endless Summer Vacation was sure to be a showstopper, Cyrus’ performance was made even more special by winning her first GRAMMY moments before. After  eight nominations and many years in the industry, the singer’s exclamations of excitment were felt by everyone watching.

After winning the GRAMMY Award for Best Song Written For Visual Media at the Premiere Ceremony, Billie Eilish  and brother   FINNEAS   performed the existential pop ballad from Barbie on the GRAMMY stage. "What Was I Made For?" would go on to win Song Of The Year, showing the world that Eilish certainly knows what she was made for.

Eighty-year-old icon ad 2022 MusiCares Person Of The Year Joni Mitchell performed for the first time at the GRAMMY Awrds — and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Seated in an elegant chair and surrounded by chandeliers, Mitchell offered an emotional performance of her 1969 hit "Both Sides Now." The legened was backed by Brandi Carlile , Allison Russell , Sistastrings, Lucius, Jacob Collier , and Blake Mills; earlier in the day, "Both Sides" took home the golden gramophone for Best Folk Album.

SZA went into the 2024 GRAMMYs as the most-nominated artist and took home awards for   Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best R&B Song. She then gave back to the audience, performing the GRAMMY-winning "Snooze," clad in a leather duster and wide-brimmed hat.

Olivia Rodrigo  may not have taken home a golden gramophone, but she still left her all on the GRAMMYs stage. Donning an appropriately hued dress and just a dash of "blood" on her face, Rodrigo performed "vampire" as red liquid seeped from the walls behind her.

Billy Joel performed twice at the 66th GRAMMY Awards, treating audiences to one familiar tune and one brand-new track. Joel shared his newest offering, "Turn the Lights Back On," just before Album Of The Year was announced. His first release since 2007, "Turn the Lights Back On" marked his first time playing on the GRAMMYs stage in more than 20 years.

Burna Boy   brought a piece of his homeland to the GRAMMYs, dancing among throngs of colorfully-dressed performers and equally colorful buildings. The Nigerian Afrobeats star performed "On Form," "City Boys" and "Sitting On Top Of The World," iwth special appearances by   Brandy   and   21 Savage .

U2   took the GRAMMY audience on a quick trip to Las Vegas, performing "Atomic City" live from the Sphere. The swirling, psychedelic and high-tech performance was the first live broadcast from Sin City venue, which the 22-time GRAMMY winners are currently doing a residency.

During the moving In Memoriam segment of the 2024 GRAMMYs,  Eurythmics singer  Annie Lennox  was joined by  Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman to  pay tribute to Sinead O'Connor . Together, they offered an emotional cover of the late Irish pioneer's "Nothing Compares 2 U."

Further honoring the lives of incredible individuals that the music world lost in 2023, Fantasia Barrino made Tina Turner proud with a high-energy performance of "Proud Mary." The performance and tribute were introduced by Oprah Winfrey, who called Turner "a towering figure. She is our forever goddess of rock and roll who inspired millions, a moving symbol of grace and grit, soul and power
And as those big wheels of time keep on turnin’, Tina’s voice continues to speak to all of us."

Continuing the In Memoriam tribute,  Global Impact Award honoree Lenny Kravitz   paid respect to   Clarence Avant as the "Godfather of Black Music"   with a tribute that included a performance of "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Lean on Me" by Album Of The Year nominee   Jon Batiste .

During the Premiere Ceremony, Gaby Moreno & El David Aguilar performed a harmonious and haunting “Luna de Xelaju.” Their take on the popular Guatemalan waltz composed by Paco PĂ©rez was set against a video of falling rose petals, highlighting the romanticism of the duo’s voices.

The Premiere Ceremony kicked off the 2024 GRAMMYs with an exciting  performance from   Pentatonix ,   Jordin Sparks ,   Larkin Poe,   J. Ivy , and   Sheila E. , who welcomed audiences to a day-long celebration of musical excellence.

Is Billie Eilish Going On Tour In 2024?

8 April 2024, 17:10

Is Billie Eilish going on tour with her third studio album?

By Abbie Reynolds

Billie Eilish just announced her third album 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' is coming out in May 2024, but is she taking her new music on tour? Here's what we know.

Listen to this article

Since September 2023, Billie Eilish has been teasing fans about new music and now she has officially announced that her third studio album 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' is coming out May 17th 2024.

2024 has been a massive year for Billie already as she made history with her second Oscar win , as well as taking home 'Song Of The Year' at the Grammys . And now the 22-year-old singer songwriter is adding an album release to her list of 2024 accomplishments.

Billie concluded her ' Happier Than Ever ' tour in April 2023 and it seems that from the moment she stepped off of the stage fans have been willing her to go on tour again.

Now that she has new music ready, will a tour follow? Here's what we know.

Billie Eilish's last performance was at the 2024 Oscars

Will Billie Eilish be going on tour with her new album 'Hit Me Hard And Soft'?

Billie is yet to reveal whether or not she is taking her new album on tour, but it's likely that she will. What she has revealed is that she won't be doing any single releases ahead of the new album's drop.

When she announced the album on her Insta she said that she's "not doing singles" because she wants to "give it to you all at once".

The 'Lost Cause' singer went on tour for her first two albums 'When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?' and 'Happier Than Ever', so it's highly likely that she'll also being taking this album on tour.

Billie pulled out all the stops for the promotional campaign of 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' so we'd be surprised if she dropped the album without news of a tour to follow it.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by BILLIE EILISH (@billieeilish)

She teased the new album with billboards across the world that featured big blue text, reading things like "do you know how to bend?" and "she's in the headlights", which we assume are lyrics from her new music.

To make sure the whole world was ready for the album announcement she also pulled an Instagram stunt where she added all of her following to her 'close friends list'. This peaked people's curiosity and boosted her following count, when she first did this she had 111 million followers and on the day she announced her new album she had 120 million.

The entire album comes out on May 17th and we'll be looking for any clues before then, or after, that point to Billie going on tour this year. And as soon as we know, we'll update this page!

Singer-Songwriter Cam Discusses Working on Five Tracks for BeyoncĂ©’s ‘Cowboy Carter’: ‘She’s Just Such a Creative Genius’

Cam

In June 2021, Cam got a call from her publisher who told her that a different songwriter couldn’t make a session and asked if she could go instead. Details were scarce — she didn’t even know whose session it was — and off she went to the studio on a whim. Little did she know she’d be walking into sessions for Beyoncé’s new chart-topping album, “Cowboy Carter,” which inevitably would feature writing, production, engineering and background singing from Cam on five of its songs.

Since debuting in 2010, the 39-year-old has etched a name for herself as an artist and songwriter, releasing a pop album in 2010 before a heel-turn to country with 2015’s “Untamed.” That record spawned her highest-charting hit to date, the confessional “Burning House,” which landed her a Grammy nomination. But she hit a different stride with 2020’s “The Otherside,” working with longtime collaborator Tyler Johnson and Jack Antonoff for a collection of songs that conveyed a deeper sophistication in her writing and performance.

Cam recalls that she worked on the album for the latter half of 2021, encouraged to share her ideas to be threaded into the bigger picture. “I could show up with these pieces that were purely myself,” she says. For instance, she channeled her love of requiems, which she sang in choir as a kid, for some of her contributions. “There’s no way you could even guess where she’s going. That’s one of my favorite things about Beyoncé and about this album, is that even though there are so many ties to the past and you hear everything woven through, it’s so forward-facing. She’s singing to us about the future and where we’re going, and I want to go there. So I think spiritually, I definitely felt aligned once I heard it all together. I couldn’t even realize that that’s where this was going back then. I was just contributing these pieces and building blocks that came from me that obviously were on the same journey.”

Right as “Cowboy Carter” released, Beyoncé revealed that she initially intended to put it out before 2022’s “Renaissance,” the first of a planned trilogy that centered on house and dance music. Cam states that she was surprised when “Renaissance” dropped instead, unsure of when the music she worked on would see the light of day.

“I was like, no!” she says with a laugh. “But I absolutely love ‘Renaissance’ so it was a no with a smile and a dance at the same time. The difference between me as an artist and writing for myself and getting to control the timeline and how it all goes and then deciding you’re going to collaborate and be in service as a writer, it’s a whole different ride. I’d like to say I have more understanding and patience for it, because I know how hard it is on the other side of things when you’re trying to direct the flow of traffic, but I definitely was like, this album is so important… So yeah, it was a big sigh of relief when it was finally released.”

She beams as she talks about “Cowboy Carter,” and recalls listening to “Protector” as a finished product for the first time. Cam is mother to her five-year-old daughter Lucy, and identified with the nurturing message of the song. “I just remember I was flying on a plane with [Lucy] and she was probably two and I was so overwhelmed,” she says. “I just remember thinking, all our parents have done this for us. They did it for us and now I’m doing it for her, and I just bawled my eyes out when I first heard that.”

Kelsea Ballerini has her stilettos on and her man by her side at the 2024 CMT Music Awards.

The singer-songwriter -- who's been dating Outer Banks  star Chase Stokes for more than a year -- hit the red carpet with her famous other half outside the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, on Sunday.

Ballerini lit up the red carpet in a fiery crimson gown with lace fringe and a flowing, semi-sheer pleated skirt, along with long locks done by hairstylist Peter Lux using Pantene products, and chrome nails created by manicurist Kait Mosh with Olive & June products.

Stokes, meanwhile, looked handsome in an off-white tuxedo jacket over a white undershirt, paired with a pair of black suit slacks.

The pair were all smiles as they posed for photos -- but the cute couple didn't leave it at that. Instead, the pair decided to pack on some PDA for the cameras.

In a move swiped from a rom-com, Stokes sweetly tilted Ballerini's head with his hand below her chin and planted a kiss on her lips right in the middle of the press line.

ET's Cassie DiLaura caught up with Stokes backstage during the show, and asked the actor about his efforts to support his ladylove on her big night.

Stokes humbly shared, "I'm just doing my best."

Ballerini, 30, hosted the ceremony for the fourth year in a row  this year -- but for the first time solo -- and  performed during the ceremony . Plus, she's one of the most-nominated artists of the night. The singer is up for Video of the Year for "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)", Female Video of the Year for "Penthouse," and CMT Performance of the Year for her rendition of "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)" at last year's show.

The CMT Music Awards are a special place for the pair as they made their red carpet debut at the show last April. "I feel like him coming into my world, he’s really enjoyed kind of being on the sideline and watching that," she previously told ET of Stokes .

As for what she's going to unveil on the Moody Center stage later tonight, Ballerini previously teased to ET, "Maybe something new!" And, perhaps, something romantic.

While the specific song remains a mystery, if there's one thing we can be sure of, it's Stokes applauding from the audience

Hosted by Kelsea Ballerini, the 2024 CMT Music Awards  takes place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday, April 7, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The show will air on CBS and will also be  available to stream live and on demand via Paramount+.
