There are many ways to experience the University of Virginia. Prospective students can attend an information session or spend the night on Grounds . Alumni can take advantage of career services and participate in a range of events , including reunions. History enthusiasts can take historical tours offered through the University Guide Service (and at Monticello ). Parents, prospective faculty and families can do all the above, plus enjoy walking tours and attend a variety of cultural events happening across Grounds and within the greater Charlottesville community.

Because the University Guide Service is student-run, we do not provide tours during exam periods, reading days, or student breaks. For more detailed UGS Operating Status, click HERE
Check when you need to be here and how to get to us. Our historical tours start from the Lower East Oval Room of the Rotunda every school day (except home football game days ). Admissions tours meet in varying times and locations, which you can check here . Locations can (in rare instances) change, so please double check the schedule the day of your visit to make sure you are headed to the right place! Once you know the time and place of where you are headed, see a map of UVA for directions on how to get there!

Please use the calendar below to see our various events and to register for the right type of visit for you. Unfortunately, our system does not offer the capability for managing waitlists for visits and tours. That said, we would love to have you on Grounds. Check back regularly as spots that become available can be registered for immediately.
The University of Virginia welcomes admission tour requests for groups of 10 or more prospective students, space permitting, on Tuesdays and Thursdays in February and March 2023. Registration for summer group tours (May to August 2023) will be posted in the coming months.
